Good to know. I can just see me burning through my heavy ammo reserves very fast with the bursts of the Velocity Cannon and leaving me with only my melee weapon as a fall back option.

Yeah, the way they are described, it seems to me that the operator of the Sidekick rifles declares at the beginning of the Round what mode they are in.

During our firefight against the enemy Splicers, I had them shooting on their own, but when we were going after Paseo, I had Chaska take over the Sidekick with the Stick-um so he could use his own bonuses.

It was my understanding that by him taking over the Stick-um Sidekick, it would not get its individual actions. The other Sidekick however would, as it was still "free."

At the start of the next Round, I could then declare which of the two modes each of the Sidekicks were in.

Is that right, Bud? Sherwood Sherwood

Exactly. That is how I read it, too. When using it in direct operator mode, you use your own bonuses. When in independent mode, it has its own, and they do not add together.

Sherwood Sherwood EDIT: Well! I just discovered Chaska has Climbing after all (in his Outdoorsman M.O.S.)! And at an extremely beefy percentage! Looks like I have more decisions to make. Yay! =)

ok so I think I am going to do this...I am going to:
1. Keep the Mega Upgrade on the Heat Cannon (and the two storage pouches)
2. Sell her missile rifle for (TV 15000) 11250 to get her credit total up to 90311
3. Buy 90 BIO-e for the following enhancements
Acid Seed Cannon (50)
Echo Location (35)
2 more storage pouches (for a total of 4 which is the maximum storage pockets for a host armor) (8)

left over 311 credits, 2 BIO-E for the bank

I will do the Omni upgrde for the ASC next level..and maybe some defensive enhancements...

How Toni and Jin have beefed up! Nice changes, you two! Looks like Toni is now our main battle tank and Jin is our dedicated sniper unit! =)

But how about Axel? What's he done on his end?

Re: Chaska. I have to admit I'm stuck somewhere between getting more sensors and senses (and which ones) instead of spending 60 BIO-E into melee weapons he may or may not ever use.

Plus the scout sometimes takes a role with a spotlight belongs all to them (as they search ahead of the party and go one-on-one with the Game Master). I don't want Chaska to have any more spotlight than anyone else so that might change my build direction.

Finally, skill slots are in short supply and as much as I'd like Chaska to take Singing, I can't imagine it would come in useful anywhere else except with the birbs and I think he has other vocal skills that may help in that direction (GM discretion).

Axel is beefing up his armor MDC a bit, and picked up Resistance to Projectiles to help increase is ability to survive. He's sticking with his Thud Gun for his ranged offense and his bone blades for his melee action. That's what he has lined up so far.

Let me start with the third item on that list. I will not dock you in any way if you don't take singing for the birds. If Chaska decides to hum or whistle or sing off key, the birbs will enjoy the attention they get. Not everyone is like Chaska to treat the birbs like valued team members and not just organic hardware, so any kind of affection will go over well with them.

Scouting can be accomplished by Woodstock in most situations right now without difficulty. So long as he acts like a 'normal' bird around the Machine, it doesn't know to suspect the avians as spies. For members of other Houses that also have bio-birds in their arsenal, the odds of being discovered is increased. But Woodstock has bio-e to spend, and Chaska has money to invest in more bio-e for him and the birb. If you go with a Stealth field for him, he's going to be able to slip in and out of places that even Chaska can't get to.

One thing you can do is invest some bio-e into your Sidekicks to increase the are-of-effect of their weapons, damage or range. Those Sidekicks can be very useful when used correctly.

For Chaska, you have many options. Extra Arms, Legs or Tail can be added on. Increase your PS. Increase your running speed or flight speed. Lots of different angles to look at.

"Resistance to projectiles?" Do you mean Resistance to Kinetic Energy? Because the former covers a heck of a lot more! Where do we find that? =)

Ah! I thank you for pointing that out and in such detail! Chaska trusts and understands most animals, Spliced or otherwise, than he trusts and understands humans. He has more time around animals and the surface world than he has among other people. I'll forego Sing then and focus on something squad or scout-oriented.

That settles it then - Stealth Field for Da Best Birb! =)

That's true. I'll keep the BIO-E for Chaska and Woodstock for now.

Mmm, well, I don't see how most of those things are going to increase his role for Cerberus. As the scout, I want him to have as many practical tools as are necessary to help keep Cerberus safe as well as himself and Woodstock. =)

I was typing off of the top of my head, and meant the Kinetic Energy one.

So how are we getting along on spending those pesky bio-e points? I want to get the story moving along but I want to make sure everyone is ready to go.

I am starting to formulate the next IC post in my mind, but I’m going to wait for Purr Purr to give me the ok on starting the next leg of the campaign. I may post some stuff in the meantime to continue the story on the Kraken depending on what you guys do.

Sherwood Sherwood Set sail when you're ready! I doubt anything I'll be adding for Chaska will be game-changing. Still, I want to think it through before deciding - research is your friend! =)

It's nap-time for me; I've been active today and I could use the break. But before I go...

The Harbinger Cannon is a true beast,
Sherwood Sherwood Where can the stats on this cannon be found and could Chaska learn it in-character? He might be called in as Toni's spotter.

Was there any word on the recording devices mentioned earlier? I'd like to be able to get the best data possible back to the Kraken and pictures and video are worth more than most eyewitness accounts. =)

Okies. Off for now! =)

Enjoy your nap.

The harbinger is written up in the I am Legion book, but I also have it in a spoiler in the Lore tab of the game. Either place is fine to look at it.

Also, by now the organic recorders are ready to go. You can set it to take still pics or record in full video. I’ll add their details to the equipment list soon.
