You could maybe find a camp with a smoldering fire close to the plantation and horse tracks suggesting a party of 5+ men

yeah I'd prefer more structure, D&D is actually a really good analogy for the way I style my RPs. Instead of seeing mysterious figures in the distance, just look for em and I'll tell you if you see them or not.

I'm gonna use dice after all! anything can happen! Modifiers will keep things narratively cohesive unless someone rolls horribly

Leslie rolled a 4. He failed to find any tracks, but rolled on the higher side for a failure, so I may give him something
