By the point that Vance had said "Shoot me." Alister hesitated. There wasn't any reason to shoot Vance, as it would just get very ugly. Someone would die- and he couldn't say for certain it'd be Vance. He had a distinct feeling that it would be...but that was his pride- but his instincts screamed at him otherwise.

"Just go." Came his stern tone, raising the revolver to keep a bead on the assassin-like figure. The barrel of the gun would stay upon him.

"I don't want to have this fight even begin. It'll get ugly, and I doubt either of us want to walk away heavily crippled, with a group of people chasing our tails for killing one of their friends. So go."

Alister's voice never wavered, never shifted. It was as hard as steel, with his face being set in a stony visage. Whatever his internal thoughts were, who knew- but they were borderline impossible to read off his face as of the moment.

His soul was still flowing through him, with the world being brighter, and the colors sharper. For some it might be unnerving, as Soul Mana didn't need to be that flashy- but it certainly hit hard. And only Alister knew what spell he had active. But for now...he wouldn't be doing anything, just a pulled back hammer, with a finger on the trigger.

Gurak

Gurak gave a thoughtful nod, before setting the crate of meat on the counter and staring down at this "new meat". "Well, I mean, you wouldn't necessarily be the 'new meat'. That's this stuff right here," he continued, patting the crate. "And it's dead as a doorknob. Dead and ground to shreds." If he looked closely, Zane would see a glimmer of an evil smile cross the orc's face, before it turned back into his usual, tired lunch lady expression. "But I'd assume you're the new recruit type of 'new meat'. It's got a lot less of a grisly future in store for you, don't you think?"

As for the rest of the new guy's questions, Gurak took his time in answering them, concentrating more on sifting through his box of meat (and batting away his drool) than actually listening. Once he remembered the question, though, the orc decided to have a little bit of fun with this new recruit. "Yea, he's pretty bad - if you like having some of the more... precious things in your life stolen, you know what I'm saying?" He followed this little comment up with a definitely-not-comforting wink and a pat on Zane's shoulder. "Rumor has it that he gets hard - and I mean really hard - for anyone, if you catch my drift. He's one of those guys, and I'd watch my hind shank around him, if you're picking up what I'm laying down."

With the other question - and a quick observation of the little scene that spawned it - Gurak took on a more serious tone for his answer. "Unfortunately, I'd have to say yes. Hope that doesn't turn you off from this guild too much - but hey, at least you missed our glorious leader's fight with his spinning-chair cohort." The orc gave Zane a hard stare just to show that he wasn't joking anymore. "I couldn't make up this stuff if I tried. You're not scared, are you?" Zane's apparent silence was enough of an answer for him, and the orc could only give him a "what can I do" kind of shrug, unaware that Zane was saving his speaking strength for something even Guah-reater. With that, Gurak turned his attention back to the crate on his counter and - soon enough - to the dwindling fire behind the counter he'd set it on. Cursing under his breath, the orc wondered what was taking Alister so long, but before he could start a search-

"Ggggggggggggggggggggggguuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"What in the blazes-!" Gurak was shaken from his thoughts by one of the loudest, most guttaral, and absolutely arousing disturbing moans he'd heard in his life. He wasn't quite sure what it was - was Zane shouting his name? Flattering, but that didn't sound right. Was he aroused at the orc's mention of their hard guild leader? Maybe. Did he swing that way? Or maybe - as the more plausible answer - something was definitely right wrong with this guy. "What the hell was that, new guy? Stress getting to you or something?" Gurak couldn't quite pin what aspect of that scream had made him uneasy, but it was definitely something. I'm gonna have to keep tabs on this guy - until we get the exorcist, Ryder, or some handcuffs. Or maybe all three.

Now visibly nervous and sweating, Gurak changed his approach with this new meat. "Alright buddy. I'll admit, that was a nice scream... m-maybe we can get you initiated now, eh?" The orc beat around the bush a bit more, frantically thinking of somewhere to hide this new guy while the priestmobile came. "Let's see... how about you get as far away form this guild as possible how about you, uh, get me some more firewood or something? " Without listening for a protest, the orc shoved a dull axe into Zane's hand and forced him out a side door, leaving him facing one of the few forests on the island. "Come back when you've got as much wood as our leader is packing!"

Ryder
Was it just him, or did Sede's skull become more jagged as time went on? It felt like getting his skull cracked open by a mace, rather than a person's head. Even so, Ryder had no time to be checking up on his only S-Class member, ensuring that he was doing alright and wasn't suffering from possible brain damage. From what the leader could tell, the current situation was just getting worse and worse by the second, and the moment Ryan took a hold of Celica, things escalated to a point that made it difficult to diffuse. Dusting himself off and finally letting go of Sede's underwear (begrudgingly), he'd lift himself up, a hand on the area of his scalp that was beginning to form a welt.

"There's no point in bashing the guild, Ryan. Sure, we might be in a shitty state, and yes, we aren't exactly going anywhere anytime soon, but it's still our guild," Ryder would interject, eyeing the girl that now rested uncomfortably in the beast boy's arms. "Let's not get too hasty, alright? I'd rather not watch my home get burned down to the ground just because we didn't let go of a single child. Instead, why don't we just try to make some sort of compromise? If we do that, then we won't need to be spilling blood anywhere and everyone will be happy."

Putting a hand to his goatee, the leader pondered for a moment, taking his time to come up with some sort of mutual benefit. "How about this? We'll let you take the girl. You can ask whatever you want from her, get your answers, then bring her back to the guild. In return, I'm going to have to ask that you allow one of our members to accompany you at the time. They can ensure our safety - and our worries - while being able to protect her on the trip back. I don't understand why you have to take her away from here, but that makes it so we aren't just handing over one of our guild members to a complete stranger and hoping she'll come back in one piece."

"Of course, if you don't take this into consideration, then I can deduct that you will follow through on that threat of yours. Considering that you're willing to destroy private property for a tiny thing like this, I'd be willing to bet that you'd have a hard time dealing with not just us, but possibly other guilds, too. It isn't every day that someone just walks around casually threatening to burn down one without batting an eyelash, after all." Sure, Ryder was most likely just stretching his imagination, considering that most guilds wouldn't realize the destruction of The Order, but there was merit to his words. Hopefully, it'd help dissuade this man from destroying the guild and give Alister a reason to not shoot anyone needlessly.

Isabel: Vance was taking a ridiculously long time to catch up with the small girl. A part of her didn't want to treat Vance like someone who's incompetent by checking on him, but at this point she might gut have to. She takes pride in her servant being able to perform his tasks with ease so she may hurt her own pride with this. That being said, she made up her mind not to check and instead ask her sister to. Julie was quite agreeable so she might check up on the man. Julie could do it in a way that seemed friendly, instead of disappointed. "Hey Ju-" Isabel was stopped in her tracks. She would have loved to ask Julie to go...if Julie hadn't already left.

Julie: Julie was making quite the swift walk back to Vance. He was taking too long and she believed he was left with too big of a task. Collect an unconscious girl from the hands of another man without making it weird? Of all the requests Isabel could of made! Julie has realized that Isabel makes the most ridiculous requests of Vance. Mostly because Vance is a reliable person. The more Vance pulls off, the more Isabel begins to put her faith in him, expecting more of him the next time. Once she saw the situation, Julie raced to Vance's side, clinging on to his sleeve. She didn't hear Alister's words about leaving the fight behind them, she only saw him point a gun a gun at Vance. "Vance, we should go...we'll have to let the girl naturally detox." Julie whispers into Vance's ear and begins pulling on his sleeve, hoping he'd follow. ( GingerBread GingerBread HTCOR HTCOR DVationz DVationz )

Ryan Silverthorne

Ryan stopped at the sound of Ryder finally speaking up. He listened intently, though he didn't once turn around or speak until he was finished talking himself. "I'll grab my things in that case Ryder..." He wouldn't accept any other member going with Celica and the strangers, and it would ensure he could keep the promise to himself. "I'm still taking her to the infirmary though, so the healer can reassure us that she's okay for travel in her state. I'll be back in a couple minutes." Whether or not the hooded man and his friends would try to interfere, he'd ignore them, his mind set in stone. Once he was inside the guild, he walked straight toward the infirmary and was met with a worried woman, immediately followed by the sight of her eyes practically bursting in flames from the sheer anger. Ryan was prepared to be beaten, again, but first he had to get her help.

"I need you to check her over again. Someone outside seemed to heal her, but I'd like you to check again... to be sure. I'll be back in a moment, I have to grab my things." Before the girl had a chance to protest, he dropped Celica in her arms and walked off in the direction of his room. Once he was in there, he walked over to the chest at the end of his bed and started to grab his things. He attached a belt, along with two holstered knives and an empty pouch. That was all that he had. As he was about to exit the room, he looked back and sighed. "Yep. I can't wait to get this over with. I hate it already."
Yep. I can't wait to get this over with.

By the time Serena had realized it, the girl was gone. Vanished. Nowhere to be seen. "Oh my gods what have I done! I lost her! How does one lose an unconscious child? How'd she even leave without making a noise?" Serena was in meltdown, ready to rush out in search of the girl. She just about did leave, had it not been for the ragged member from before dropping her off, again. This time though, she seemed to be perfectly fine. "What the hell? This isn't natural healing, nor alchemical... it had to have been a very strong form of healing magic." It hit her like a rock. "I'm seriously going to kill someone at this rate..." That's right, the rugged man said it was a woman outside. She had a job to do though, and that was to be sure the mysterious stranger hadn't accidentally gone overboard. Which she did as it turned out.

"Honestly you'd think that any healer in their right mind would have enough self control to ensure they didn't overheal, but no. Apparently I'm the only competent healer left around here, or anywhere for that matter. This is why the world will go extinct. Not because they kill themselves, but because their healers don't know how to do their jobs right." With an exasperated sigh she began to look around to see if she had what she needed to make a detox. "I feel sorry for you kid, you're surrounded by idiots and ran into a healer who can't control their own output. It kinda sucks..."
Apparently I'm the only competent healer left around here, or anywhere for that matter.

Vance figured that since Alister hadn't shot him yet, he wasn't going to; even if his face was borderline impossible to read at the moment, his actions weren't. "I'm not going without the girl. And do you really think these people care about you? One of them has already made this situation way worse for you by taking the girl. Do you really think he did that for your benefit? He just wants to feel he's doing the right thing. He doesn't care about actually helping." Vance shrugged as he let his arms fall slowly back down to rest at his sides. "If he did, he wouldn't just grab the girl and make everything worse, while going on about how terrible this place is, now would he?"

Vance was still thinking of a way out of this situation, with the girl, and without bullet holes. by as he was thinking, Ryder spoke up and offered a solution; They can take the girl, if they take another guild member with them. Ryder then followed that up by saying that if he didn't go with his idea and instead went with his own idea to kill everyone and burn the place to the ground, then he'd have a hard time dealing the guild, along with other guilds. Before he could say anything, Julie had ran up to his and attempted to get him to leave. Vance put an arm out and gently pushed Julie away from him. Partly to stop her from making him leave, and partly so her shadow was casting it's self on him. But mostly to stop her from getting hit if Alister's aim was terrible. Vance then looked back over at Alister.
"Hey Fuckface, I'm going to turn around and talk to the pervert; if you don't put that gun down. I'll make damn well sure you'll never be able to pick it up again"

As he turned to speak to Ryder about his suggestion, Vance heard Ryan speak up, suggesting that he'd be the one to come along with him. As Ryan was leaving, Vance started talking to Ryder.
"I'm fine with someone coming with me. But I'll warn you, if they're as insufferable as that little bitch, I can't guarantee that they'll be fine. The girl will be though" Whilst he was talking, Vance was aware that Alister might still have his gun on him. Because of that he made sure to keep an ear out for the sound of gunfire. "But I am a busy man. So you lot have ten seconds to decide who's coming, and bring me the girl back. Oh, and don't think I won't burn this place down, If I say I'm going to do something, I'll do it." Vance smirked at Ryder briefly. His face then went back to the serious expression that he'd had during this entire situation. "Nine seconds left"

At Ryder's comment, the revolver and dagger were slid back into their spots, as he curiously listened to his words. It would be a few moments more before he released a breath he was holding. He'd pause, glancing back at the ship, debating things within his mind. This wasn't something he could make lightly, before speaking up "I'll go. I just need to go and get my gear, while picking up the girl as well. That way, you can get your information, and we can ensure that nothing goes wrong" with that, he paused for a few moments, before continuing "Guild master, I'll need to borrow some silver out of the coffers to ensure that the girl and I get back safely."

With that, Alister stood tall, allowing his empowerment to drift out of him. His feet carried him over to actually have his back facing Vance, before he would pat Ryder on the shoulder. "And don't worry- I'll try not to start a fight this time around. That, I can ensure." He'd glance back at Vance for a few moments, judging him. "Which means my sword is allied to yours for the duration of our travel- don't abuse the privilege."

With that comment, Alister started his way back towards the guild, intending to pick up his silver, his gear, and a woodcutter's ax from the armory.

Ryder
Giving a quizzical look to Alister, whom for the first time, was willing to put himself up to the offer without Ryder's begging. It was a shock, actually. Not once could the guild master search through his memories and come up with a time that the (usually) reserved man would actually become passionate towards something, especially not another person. Considering what he went through, it was a miracle that Alister was even willing to join another guild, but that would be a conversation for another day. It was a bit of stress off his shoulders, considering if Ryder was to choose, there would be much more controversy than what was needed from the various differing opinions. Alister was a good choice to go with.

"Seems that we're settled, then. Make sure to take good care of her, alright?" Ryder would ask the both of them, looking at them individually to get the point across. Turning towards the guild, his brows would furrow forward, a worried stance taking position over his casual demeanor. "I'll tell Ryan the news, you just take care of getting that girl on to the ship. When it comes down to it, the leader has to talk with his members, yeah?" With that, he left Julie and Vance to themselves, pacing ahead of Alister, not commenting on the money that was asked for earlier. The man could take whatever reserves were needed for the trip, after all.

Climbing up the stairway to the dorms, Ryder made his way to Ryan's abode, sticking his head in before actually walking into the bedroom. After concluding that the coast was safe since he never knew what to expect with Ryan, he'd lean against the doorway, crossing his arms and clearing his throat to get the man's attention. "Hey, bud," he'd address him, not daring to look as the man packed his things together. "I, um, came to tell you that we've decided who's going on that trip. We decided that, erm, Alister would be the best pick."

Shuffling to face Ryan directly now, pushing himself away from the doorway, Ryder would stand tall, considering whether to ask the question that was biting at the back of his mind. Recognizing that Ryan was most likely upset already, he decided there was nothing to lose by asking. He was prepared for the worst, after all. "What's your story with that girl, anyway? You said she got caught up in my fight with Sede earlier, but I want to know the details. I know I might not be the best leader, but I am worried about you, you know?"

Pausing, he decided to continue, not waiting for Ryan's response. "If you think it's your responsibility to take all the weight on your shoulders, then you need to tell me. It's like what you said earlier. This guild is a family. I'm aware of how much shit we get, and how it can affect how you feel about your role here, but you're an invaluable asset to the guild. So don't just go putting yourself in difficult situations because of some kind of loyalty to us. You've done plenty for us, so it'd be nice if you trusted the other's once in a while."

As Ryan was packing some other small things, Ryder had shown up and told him he wouldn't be going. He stopped for a moment, but continued grabbing his things anyway. "This morning she was greeting someone and I was outside, cleaning as usual. I saw Sede and you through the window, about to kill each other, as usual, and ignored it on account of my toughness. No worries about getting hurt you know?" The image of the girl pushing him over to almost get herself killed rolled back through his head, although it didn't move him. "She didn't know, obviously, and tried to save me from your dumb fight. She was full of glass. Someone else took care of it, but I brought her back anyway so she could properly rest. After all it was the least I could do at the time." Ryan grabbed hold of one of his knives, gripping it to the point his knuckles were white. "The least I could do is pay her back. Then that fucking prick shows up and acts like he owns the damn place, saying whatever the fuck he wants and making threats without even a single thought..."

Ryan stood up and turned, "This guild is a joke. It's members are jokes. I don't care about that. I'm going out." As he walked away, his shoulder brushed past Ryder's, "I'll be back with a dead wyvern... eventually." Wyverns were no joke, and Ryan was fully aware of how dangerous it was for a group of trained fighters to take on a single wyvern. Taking one on your own was practically suicide, but it had been done a few times before by other people. Ryan wasn't sure how long it would take to kill a single wyvern on his own, but the plan was to kill one nevertheless. Alone. "If the girl comes back before I do, use magic to tell me. I don't need anyone bothering me with my life on the line."
I don't need anyone bothering me with my life on the line.

Ryder
The flirt made room for Ryan to walk past, watching as the young man started his way out of the guild. "Watch your back, Ryan! I hear there's some group going around killing guild members. Call themselves 'Agents'. Make sure to not tangle with them- Oh, and don't forget to just hunt down a wyvern's child when going alone! You and I both know it ain't safe going in alone, got it?" Getting his fatherly speech out of the way, the leader would put a hand on his forehead, followed up by an exasperated sigh. "Kids these days. Don't even know how to express themselves anymore."

After waiting a few good moments, Ryder would follow in Ryan's footsteps, heading to the bar to get a drink or something. That was when he caught Alister making his way downstairs. The man had plenty of gear on, let alone the overcoat filled to the brim with extra necessities. If this wasn't a perfect time to talk to him, then the man didn't know when he'd be able to. If Alister did leave, after all, then he wouldn't be able to ask him anything anytime soon. Without further delay, Ryder would catch up with Alister, patting him on the shoulder before skidding in his way, making sure to avoid eye contact.

"I talked with Ryan. I think he's getting his mind off some things. I actually needed to have a word with ya before ya left." Glancing around, he'd look back to him, speaking only loud enough for anyone on the stairs to hear. "You're certain about going on this trip, right? Don't think you have any obligation to go or nothin' just because I got us into this mess. If anything, I'd, uh, be a little more at ease if you hung back at the guild. Considering what happened in that little situation earlier, I don't think it'd be the best idea for you to go. Not when just a few moments ago you were pointing a gun at the man you're now going on a trip with."

Placing his hands at his sides, Ryder glanced back at the entrance, his mind still on how Ryan had been acting earlier. "I'm just worried for ya. Not that I'm doubting your capabilities, but, ya know, there's a lot of things loaded in this escort mission. I don't want you making- I mean, I don't want any accidents to happen. Like I was saying, it might be safer if we asked someone else to go, yeah?"

Alister paused, looking at the normally confident man. There was many things to say about Ryder, many ways to insult the man- but to say he was subtle wasn't one of them. He'd gesture for Ryder to follow him, going the rest of the way down the stairs, where he made his way to one of the tables laying about in the whirlwind of destruction left behind by Sede.

He wouldn't say anything at first, just unstrapping the majority of his gear; laying out his tinderbox, and a few vital things for a journey, such as a tinderbox, a waterskin, and a mess kit. He'd pull out a chair, gesturing to it, before walking around the table. He'd seat himself on the opposite side, taking in a deep breath.

Alister eyed Ryder for a few moments, before finally speaking. "Ryder. If...you want to say that, then I'd suggest Oden. He's a newer member, sure. But from what I can tell, he's at least reliable." The man took in a deep breath, before releasing it. As if to calm himself down.

His hand brushed through his hair, the mainly onyx hair color streaked with faint lines of silver.
"Look. I..." He'd trail off, uncertain of what to say. There wasn't a true thing to start with, as the entire reasoning for him going was awkward for most; worse for him. "Have to admit, I do want to do this, but Oden can handle it. Hopefully."

Ryder
He followed after Alister, moving when motioned to and sitting when directed. Taking a much laxer approach by resting his elbow on the counter and a hand on his knee, leaning on to the somewhat chipped wooden furniture. Listening with intent, Ryder gently tapped his finger in anxiousness, the practically emotionless man now filled with some kind of yearning, telling him of wanting to go on the trip, and then referring to Oden as a viable replacement. Taking his words into consideration, Ryder glanced back to Oden, who followed shortly after his own departure of the docks.

"I don't want you thinking that I'm keeping you from going because you're an inept or something, Alister," Ryder began, now looking back to the solemn man. "The recruits need to be organized and put on a mission in capable hands. I'm thinking past that girl; I'm thinking for the guild when I say this. Oden can take over, sure. If anything, since he's the newest, he'd probably get along best with Celica when it comes to getting situated within the guild, but this isn't something that I want to make a big deal. Oden already knows what's going on, so I'm sure he'll be fine, but I can't be putting our men at risk. Not now."

Waving Gurak over to place an order, Ryder placed a hand to his forehead in exasperation. "Things are getting tough, yeah? With the twenty-fifth wanting to absorb us into their guild and now all this commotion about Agents, I'm becoming weary with just letting people go out alone, especially with strangers." Getting a good look at the various new recruits, the place seemed a bit more light-hearted and bustling. If it weren't for all the stress he pushed aside, perhaps Ryder, too, could enjoy in their rough-housing. Sadly, he hasn't even gotten a chance to speak with Sede about their future endeavors.

"That stuff isn't that important though, is it? Why do you want to go on this trip, anyway? From what I'm aware, you don't know this girl, nor do you have any real reason for going, so why?" Raising a brow, the guild leader continued to wave his hand around, trying his best to get the orc's attention. Even though they seemed busy with some recruit, Ryder believed himself to be much more important.

Zane's apparent silence was enough of an answer for him, and the orc could only give him a "what can I do" kind of shrug, unaware that Zane was saving his speaking strength for something even Guah-reater.

Zane O'Conner
When Zane ask about the leader, he expected a more straight forward type answer, but instead he received a bunch of around a the bush responses. From what Gurak said about their leader, Zane can pretty much say that their leader the bisexual Mr.StealYoGirl type of person. But even then, Zane was still set on joining this weird guild. Even when the leader is possibly a pervert, and he might go death because of a gunshot too close to the ear. "Naw I ain't scared. I'm still willing to join, just hope I won't regret my decision." He chuckled. Then all of a sudden Zane's stomach growl, causing him to release one of the worst sounds he's ever mad. After releasing his now known unsettling sound, he remained quite and accepted his first task. "Alright but when I return I hope there's some good ass food to eat Gurak." He said it as if it was a threat, with one of his eyes becoming golden and slitted like a dragon. They then changed back and Zane left on his marry way to chop wood. Lotusy Lotusy

With hands laying upon the table, Alister took a moment to himself to reflect on Ryder's words. The agents were...certainly not the most pleasant to encounter, considering how he almost was one. If that had been the case, he would have been fighting against Ryder, and wouldn't be having this talk.

"Sympathy. I'm doing this out of sympathy." Was his first set of words, as he looked at Ryder. "It may not be as major of a case as my own, but it still warrants someone to intervene. It causes issues, and that just...I'd prefer it not to happen to someone else, so lives aren't ruined, like mine almost was."

Alister just brushed a hand through his hair once more, the silver streaks still in place. They were certainly more apparent than when Ryder had first met him- instead of being streaks, they had been merely a few stray hairs. He'd push the equipment towards Ryder.

"Let Oden use this. It'll help him on his journey, and make sure he's prepared, at the very least. And that he has a good amount of jerky." His words were stilted, as he awkwardly leaned back, looking away from Ryder. Wasn't time to say much more.

Abigail
"Hurray!! Both those things sound great! I wonder what delightful person we will have join our adventuring!" Abigail delightfully cheered, the girl pondered as her mind went through the list of members in the guild. Each member seemed like a good part of the team and a potential best friend, each person seemed so good it was impossible for Abigail to choose one "I'm not sure who could come with us, we should bring the first person we meet!" Abigail giggled, she spun around and continued to skip towards the guild. Suddenly a unpredictable girl jumped out of a bush, while the girl brushed off the leafs Abigail pointed at her "Charlotte! We should bring her! look at her amazing stealth skills! And she looks pretty! she is perfect! Can we bring her please? pretty please?" Abigail jumped with joy until she heard the girl speak something that was not gibberish. Abigail intently listened to what she was saying, until the bush girl throw something at the sisters. Abigail screamed and turned away in terror, hoping that it would miss her. "Ahhhhh! be careful sister!" She cried out in fear.

Sede
After being touched inappropriately by Ryder, Sede eventually regained enough self-esteem to return to the Guild hall-- and his beloved chair. Boy howdy did Sede hope nobody touched, or Grimm forbid sat in, his chair while he was gone. It was only a matter of TIME before Sede returned his rear to that heavenly cushion, and nothing would get in his way on the way there. Nothing but the fact that Sede did not know the layout of the guild hall... for plot development reasons!

As Sede drifted in his chair-stimulated daze, he somehow found himself walking into Ryan. "OH SHIT WE'RE BEING INVADED BY ANGRY TEENAGERS!" Sede screamed, tackling the poor man to the ground.

"TELL ME WHAT YOU DID TO MY CHAIR! WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR! ARE YOU AN AGENT? WHY DO YOU SMELL LIKE LAUNDRY DETERGENT."

Gurak

Gurak only crossed his arms and gave Zane a solid "I will" not before turning back to his kitchen, the sound of that GUAH moan still ringing fresh in his ears. Oblivious to Zane's eye change and his threatening wish for good food, the orc resumed his daily grilling routine, the only though on his mind being how strong Zane's vocal cords must have been (and how deep that throat was). Obviously bothered, Gurak failed to notice that he was dipping one of the skewered pieces of meat a bit too close to the dying fire, and the hissing and crackling of burned meat failed to pieces the still-reverberating "GUAH".

Out of the corner of his eye, Gurak picked up some movement - or rather, a lot of movement, from Ryder, a couple tables over. Crap! Don't look back at him. If you can't see him, he can't see you. The orc tried his best to focus on his food and not his super-hard guild leader, with beads of sweat sizzling as they dropped into the nearly-extinguished fire. The waving wouldn't stop, however, and eventually, Gurak gave in, giving Ryder an uncomfortable thumbs-up in response as he took his skewer off the matchstick-size fire. Despite its size, however, one piece of meat in particular was look a little burnt on the bottom, but the orc didn't seem to notice as he slapped it on a plate and garnished it with some leaf that had fallen through the guild's spotty roof. Tossing the plate like a frisbee, it landed on the table closest to the door he'd pushed Zane out of, hopefully close enough to waft its scent towards the hungry dragon-man...

With that done, Gurak finally forced himself over to Ryder's table, with a flat rock in one hand and a chisel tucked behind his ear like a waiter with a pencil, though he noticed Alister was in Ryder's company as well. Man... and he doesn't even have any wood, either. That's alright though, since I've got myself a man that'll give me hella more wood than Alister ever would the newbie on it. No use bugging him. "What's up, Ryder? Need something?" He asked, picking the chisel from his ear and stooping over the table, ready to take an order.

Ryder
Alister had pushed over his gear towards the Pactborn, explaining the value of handing them over to the young Oden. While Ryder had a good idea of Oden's capabilities as a member of the guild, he guessed it wouldn't be a horrible idea to at least introduce the gear to the young man. While they might not work perfectly with how they go about things, it's probably better to have than to not have at all. Dragging them closer to himself, Ryder would give a simple nod, his hand still waving around as the orc seemingly ignored him, even though he knew this obviously wasn't the case.

Eventually, Gurak did come over and greet the leader (as he should). "Gurk!" Ryder would butcher the orc's name. "How're you doin', pal? My order? Oh, c'mon, big guy, let's have a little chat, yeah?" Looking back and forth between Alister and the chef, Ryder leaned back in his stool, the leader thinking of what he could possibly order. "Ah, I got an idea. Three mugs of our best mead. We're gonna give a big old toast to Oden once he comes around. By the way, Guahk, did ya hear about what just happened outside? Some weirdo wants to take one of our newest recruits on a cruise with 'em of all things! Yeah, can ye believe it? A little girl, of all things!"

The passionate man scratched the back of his head, giving a pleased, yet somewhat exhausted visage. "Threatened to burn down the guild and everything. Luckily, I was there to diffuse the situation," he'd say with a wink, not caring if the orc had already started with his order or not. "Ah, but I'm gonna have to take a small leave once we give out those missions to the recruits."

Glancing to Alister, the leader waved a hand, as if to say it was no big deal. "Guild leaders gotta meet up and all, that's it. I'll be takin' Sede with me, so there - hopefully - won't be any problems. The sooner we can round up the riff-raff the better." Tapping his fingers against the counter, the man would continue. "By the way, I'll be checking up on that girl myself when I get the chance. Make sure with Serena that she's in a stable condition to be going on that little trip. Do you think you'll need anything from me before I get going?" Ryder would ask, eyeing Alister with a raised brow.

Celica
As the young girl rested in the infirmary, her mind worked tirelessly in her sleep. If there was something that Celica had to her name, it was her child-like mind and the imagination that went along with it. Due to the drawbacks of the detox and the lingering effects of Alister's soul mana, the young girl couldn't help herself as an entire world opened itself up within her mind. So, deep in the depths of her own mind, Celica found herself stranded amongst crowds of trees, lost in a forest that was dark, murky, and less than pleasant to be a part of. Alone and afraid, she could only witness as her deepest thoughts came to fruition.

Thorns pricked mercilessly at her sides, the young maiden having been propped up against a rose bush upon first entering into her dream. Finding it painful to find her way out of the bush, Celica looked around in every direction of any signs that indicated to human (or other) life. Having no luck in her pursuit, she wandered off in an attempt to find something - anything. Before even taking a few steps, her feet began to burn, as if she had been walking on coals this entire time. Taking the time to examine them, she'd see blisters clearly forming at the bottom with no real reason as to how they got there, at least, not to her knowledge.

How did she get here, anyway? Last she remembered was seeing her brother, and now she was stuck wandering the entirety of an expansive forest with no clear purpose or goal in mind. No, she was stuck here. The constant nagging of someone never coming to save her was ever present in her mind, a constant fear that continued to hound her as she continued to drift the woods. Maybe this was her punishment? Perhaps it'd be better off if nobody ever found her? If that was the case, then she wouldn't be able to be an inconvenience anymore, and people would rejoice at her disappearance.

Shaking her head, she'd continue onward. These weren't her thoughts. Something, or someone, was trying to get to her. If she became disheartened now, then, of course, she wouldn't be able to get anywhere. With her head held high and her spirits even higher, she hiked up an upward hill, deciding that the best option, for now, was to get a much better view of her surroundings and start making a plan from there.

Off in the distance, Celica could make out a small cabin. A gentle cloud of smoke protruded from the chimney, the structure seemed to be made out of a mix of logs and stone. If that wasn't an indicator of where to go, then Celica didn't know where. Packing up her things (pretty much just herself), the youngster got to moving, careful of her footing as she slid down the hillside. In what felt like seconds to her, she was already standing in front of the building, little beads of sweat covering her brow as the sun blazed above her. Without a second thought, she continued inside.

Pushing the wooden door open with both hands, the girl slipped into the building, the floorboards creaking under her feet. The first she could notice was the artwork hanging from the walls, each with odd designs of distinct artistic talent. Whether it be made by an amateur, or not, there were plenty around, each somewhat soothing on the soul. Next was the furnishing, which was made of simple leathers from animal hides and pieces of expertly cut wood. The fireplace, which worked more as a furnace, was giving off a luminescent glow, the flames licking at the air as it heated a pot of recently crafted soup. The aroma, which now filled Celica's senses, was hypnotizing, to say the least, as her feet dragged her over to the meal before she could even think.

Then, a brisk cough interrupted her wandering thoughts. A man with streaked gray hair and depressing features made his way over to her, not saying a word as he stared holes into her very being. It didn't take long, however, for that skeptic look to change into a much brighter and accepting one, the man grabbing a soup spoon and bowl. Scooping some of the meal up, he'd place the slop into her grasp. The last thing she could remember was that dazzling smile, her mind delving deeper and deeper into complete and total sleep. While she wasn't going to remember it, the kindness that man extended warmed her to her very core, leaving an imprint on the easily swayed heart of the young child.

    Then Alister's room

There was a distinct sigh as Alister leaned on his arm, eyeing Ryder for a few moments. His brow quirked up, as he listened to the master's speech. It was very much like him, the way it played out. It wouldn't take long for Alister to speak up, translating for his poor superior. "A fellow named Vance came up, belittled us as being a bunch of fools and idiots. Then the little girl rushed up, fell down at her feet, and his superior demanded he bring her along for 'questioning'." One could hear the normally dull voice of Alister state the word with such disgust that it sounded like he said that someone had violated his very soul.

"Then things occurred, Ryder came along. So Vance and him compromised at a suggestion to have a guild member come along to ensure the little girl's safety, and to ensure she isn't corrupted by a Demon of Pride, and her henchman." was what he said next, his fingers beating a staccato beat onto the table. His eyes locked onto Gurak for a few moments, as he began to speak once more.

"Needless to say, there would be a sense of stupidity of me fighting a demon of pride alone so." he'd sigh again, standing up. He'd pat the massive orc's shoulder, as he wasn't much shorter than him thankfully. "I'm going to go meditate. And not in that irritating fashion that some elves do, where they have mental processes they go through." With that comment, he began to walk away, towards the stairs.

"...Also, Natalia, how you don't have back issues, I'll never know." He'd say in a slightly loud as if he was commenting on the weather. His pace didn't slow, nor did he even spare a glance towards the woman and her issues. He may harbor a bit of feelings for them, but alas- he was aware it wasn't worth it. It showed a little on his face, but not by much.

His hands fiddled with his bracers as he made his way along, starting to detach them. His process for this was slow, yet methodical. It was something he did to grant time to think, as his mind was whirring around like a tinker toy without end to it's mana. A wooden door was pushed open, boots being kicked off to the side, a pair of vambraces being tossed onto the bed. It wasn't long for his coat to be hung up on a hook that was nailed into the back of the door.

Alister sighed to himself, as he looked up at the ceiling. His vest came off next, the buttons being removed with ease, then came the white shirt as well. It was too hot to deal with it otherwise, as the holsters were hung up, the blades placed upon the desk. His hand pulled out the small grooming kit, as he went about cutting away the spare neck hairs he had no need for. And unless he was bothered, this would go on for another solid ten minutes.

After trimming and shaping his beard to be the proper shape, Alister set his tools down, and began to wash his face with the bucket and cloth he had earlier. There was a faint grunt of irritation at the gray hairs in the cloth, as there wasn't when he was born. His hair had been onyx as a child, and his eyes an emerald green. But now, they had slivers of gray in his hair, and his eyes were stone green.

It wasn't long before he pulled out his round carpet, sitting down upon it. His legs were crossed, as his eyes closed- the faint humming in his chest expanding, flowing throughout him to form a soothing note that only he could hear. And so his mind and body relaxed, before slowly delving into his Soul.

It was a calm process, one that most people couldn't understand. Most people didn't bother to find out who they were, nor did they learn how to delve into themselves, learn how their inner self acted. His breathing steadied, as his hands rested upon his knees. And so the landscape of his soul slowly built around him, the natural world fading away. From the faint sound of a harp playing, to the winter wonderland that was his soulscape, his mental self looked about, before standing up. His regular body wasn't visible, just his inner self at this point.

He supposed there was something to say about the fact that his soul was filled with snow, and had a dark feeling to it. There was 'demons' of sorts laying all about, yet they couldn't harm him as long as he ignored them. They wouldn't dare come near him, as he was a master of this place to an extent. From the streaked gray hair that ran through his hair, much deeper than usual, to the emerald overcoat that he usually wore- a reminder of home. The dense landscape was filled with trees, and the chill was brutal. His winter gear was on underneath, from the face mask he wore, to his old fur cat.

He trudged through the deep snow, each motion taking a bit of effort. His trusty sword and dagger by his side, while his old hunting rifle was on his back, as he peered from atop a great hill, with the sights of the world around. Nearby was his old cabin, the smoke drifting up into the air, most likely pine smoke. Alister took in a deep breath, allowing the chilled air to flow through him, refreshing his mind. The harp music that trickled in the back of his mind slowly forced its way to the forefront, as something approached from behind.

It was easily a smaller figure, yet they were indistinct, impossible to tell what they were. Alister turned to face them, watching the 'demon' with a curious eye. They had made no hostile motion, just watching him curiously, as the harp slowly turned into a violin. This was new to the man, as he tried to decipher who this person was; it wasn't possible for him to see any details, as if he was just getting a blurry photograph of them.

So he turned back around, spreading his arm wide. If they were a 'demon', they'd attack him. If not, then this would be interesting. He'd share the sights with them, and allow them to see the world that was his soul. This would be a beautiful day for him, at least.

Julie: This situation was strange, especially since Vance wasn't complying with her order. It was best if they left but he still insisted on staying, at this point they should just let the girl go. If it meant standing in front of a gun, it wasn't worth it. "Vance, why are they pointing a gun at you? Answer me while we leave." Julie began to tug on Vance's sleeve once more. If Vance didn't start moving soon, she'd put her actual strength into the next tug. "We need to leave, Vance, you're scaring me." ( GingerBread GingerBread )

Gurak

"Gurk" could only give the guild leader his best "I really don't get paid enough for this" stare as he heard his name butchered like he was considering butchering the man in front of him. Upon the mention of a "chat," Gurak moved to put away his writing instruments, but the subsequent order of mead caused the orc to violently stab the stone three times - indiscernible if it was by anger or just the usual method he took the order. To add to the mounting sense of confusion, Ryder babbled something along the lines of a child-hunting, creepy fire-threat being around, causing Gurak to turn his head in a panic, franticly searching for this arsonist-pedophile, before chalking it up to the usual Ryder story. Can I poison his mead? I really want to poison his mead.

Giving Alister a pleading look, the other man (thankfully) took on the responsibility of Ryder-translating. His account matched up surprisingly well with Ryder's, for once, though the orc got fewer creepy vibes from it. "Well... that's one helluva situation, I have to say. I'd have killed the man if he tried to touch the new meat this time around. They're kinda quirky, but I can stomach them," he stated, accompanied by an almost-too-fast glare at Ryder. "You should meat this new 'Zane' kid, for example. He's a real screamer, but he can get work done, you know what I mean?"

With that, Gurak shuffled back to his spot in the kitchen, shattering the stone plate and checking the storerooms for the mead Ryder ordered. Finding a barrel that roughly read "mead" - though it could have just easily read 'mud' or 'muck' - Gurak pressed the tap, relieved when something that looked vaguely like mead came out, frothing all the way. Filling three of his slightly-clean mugs up with the stuff, the orc carried his cargo back to the table, only to find Alister gone. "Did he just up and leave?" He asked, setting two mugs down before Ryder and an empty seat he assumed was for Oden. "I mean, I'll just take his drink then. Did you know he still hasn't given me the wood he promised me, even after all this time?" He muttered, following up that strange statement with a comically slow, slurping drink from Alister's mug. "But anyways. What're these 'missions' for the recruits about, Ryder?"

Ryder
Ryder watched Alister take his leave, not even staying for a drink. The only thing that revived his faith in Alister was his comment on Natalia's rack, which pricked the leader's ears up real quick. With a loud bellow of laughter and a swipe for his mug, the man would let out a cat call, beckoning at Natalia with his one free hand. "Oi, Natalia! Get that ass over here and have a drink with us, yeah?" Patting the seat next to him, he'd wink at the woman. "Don't forget to bring your friend over, either!"

Turning back to Gurak, Ryder raised a brow. He had already almost forgotten what he was talking about earlier, only remembering when prompted by the old orc. "Ah, right, the missions! I've been thinkin', Guck, and I've decided that it's high time we get this guild moving in the right direction. We've got plenty o' recruits and TONS of talent being wasted on this here island of ours. This place is just too safe and uneventful. Anyway, as you can guess, I was gonna get some parties formed and have some of these new recruits not make a name just for themselves, but for the guild, too."

Taking a huge swig of his drink, the man wiped away the mead on his lips with his arm, being known notoriously for the inability to hold a drink. Slamming a hand on the table, he'd point to the sky, practically screaming at the top of his lungs. "IT'S ABOUT TIME WE SHOW 'EM WHAT THE ORDER IS ALL ABOUT, YA HEAR ME!? WE'RE GONNA KNOCK THEIR PANTS OFF AND PROVE ONCE AND FOR ALL WHO THE BEST GUILD TRULY IS!" The only thing holding the man back from standing on top of the counter was that the orc was in his way, most likely shocked by his sudden outburst.

Taking a good view of the scenery around him, the leader would hold his head high, an indescribable look of pure pride on his face. "We'll show 'em, right Gurak?" he'd say, getting the chef's name correct for once. "We'll take this guild back to the top. That'll show 'em. Then, we'll be the ones laughing. They'll ask us for help, and we'll be the ones to tell 'em 'no'." Turning back to the orc, the optimistic man held his mug up. "I propose a toast! To our youth! To our valor! Our glory!" Then, without delay, he'd take another drink.
