Fantasy War of the Magi [Open]

OOC
Here
The book floated over to Cherry and spoke. "Come on Cherry, open me up and I can help you rid yourself of Astaroth and strengthen your body! Heck, I could restore you to your original age before you started deaging!" It then went to Rose. "I could grant you all the knowledge in the world. You can learn how to create Magi Tech without souls and finally stop this war! I could even revive you!" After that it flew up to Kodoku. "What about you? I could make everyone like you! You could be surrounded by friehds!" Flying back down it spoke again. "Point is, I could grant you all everything you ever needed or wanted! All you have to do is open me!!"

Cress Everdeen

Cress heard the deafening roar uprising, but something else was heard too. Somethine fighting against something...Cress looked up to see Saber, another one of whom introduced themselves and actually used someone's blood for a demonstration back at the school's grounds. Thankfully she wasn't alone...but what was that monster?!

Cress leaped to her own feet, nearly stumbling into the other guy before nodding, but she had her attention on the wyrm. It looked so...frightening, her own legs were still trembling but he scraped her claws on the floor beneath in a chance to calm down.

With enough concentration, she'd be able to blast off some of her own magic, but the problem was, the monster and walls seemed to reflect everything like the mirrors they were! And she couldn't even fly with such space around here, especially since she can't go running into the mirrors themselves. She glanced around.

"Are you sure there isn't anyone else?"

Kodoku continued working on the fort as it called out, "I have methods to achieve my goals that don't require the jeopardy you potentially pose to them. I'm having fun. I would suggest that the others are in a similar boat and urge them to consider if, given the warnings, they wish to trust any book here on face value. Consider if what you risk is worth what you stand to gain."

Kodoku was doing its best staggering the books like one often sees in brick walls in the hope it would give them some stability. The roof of the fort was going to be a challenge. With nothing to stick things together it meant trying to either form a dome or bridges over the empty space and that took some skill. Still, the attempt was the fun part, not having the fort. It wasn't like they were actually having to defend themselves, merely that the construction of it was a fun thing to do while the various more studious folks went about reading their books.

 Saber

Saber looked around before looking to Cress again, glad to see that she was OK. "I don't think anyone else is here. I have some yarn at the exit, we can quickly find a way out." Just as he said that, the mirrors shifted and moved separating the two. Then, out of a mirror in front of Cress, Saber stepped out. Without saying a word, he ran towards her and drew his claws. He'd attempt to cut her throat with a slash of his claws.

Where the real Saber once. The wyrm shot out and fired a beam of concentrated energy. He jumped out the way but only ended up jumping into another mirror, the beam pierced through his wing and he fell to his knees in pain. "Damn it. You're seriously going to force me to use blood magic arent ya?"

 Wisp

Wisp watched as Kodoku built the fort. Looking around, he entered one of the books. Suddenly the book floated and gently placed itself on thr fort, acting as a sort of roof. "It isn't much, but with me at least it's stable."

Kodoku realized their mistake and said, "Thank you, but I don't want to keep you from your fun as well. Do you want to just be the roof or do you want to help me start over and build one that does the job better? I should have gone with a more igloo sort of design. Those are entirely based on gravity and friction keeping them together. It was my design that failed us and as much as your actions save the design, I want to make sure that you aren't in a position where you don't want to play with me any more because the first time we played together you ended up just being a roof the whole time."

Kodoku was honest in their motives with Wisp. While one could read concern for Wisp having fun as empathy, it was to Kodoku's interest to make sure that they did. It wanted to be able to do things like this again and that meant making sure others saw value in it. If Wisp got bored and had no fun, then they might not want to attempt to interact with Kodoku in the future.

Cress Everdeen

Cress screeched when the fake Saber (which she didn't know quite yet) drew his claws at her. She jumped backward, her wings grazing some mirrors as she tried to avoid hurting the other.

"Saber, are you even in your right mind?!-"

She hissed, but still drew up the beginning of a beam protruding from her mouth. But each time she tried to summon power, the fake Saber she soon found out wasn't real kept getting too close. Finally, she managed to just hold him down with just her claws, and then in a blink everything around her turned dark. It was only for a second, because the moon beam she got under control blasted into the copy cat.

Unfortunately, due to the impact and reflection of the mirrors, she also tumbled away from her enemy. She despairingly looked around, as if to just find where the real one just went.

 Saber

Saber stood himself up slowly, a pool of blood was forming on the floor from the wound on his wing. He clenched his feet before tapping into his familiar magic, letting out a super sonic scream. Quickly, the glass mirrors as well as the wyrm were shattered in an instant but something told him it wasn't over. Still, he had time to quickly jump over to Cress.

"We're in trouble. My portal magic isn't working here, so I don't know what magic will. Maybe it was just my portal magic, who knows but my energy magic is useless here. It is just reflected back at me. So all I have is my familiar magic and my blood magic." as he finished talking, the shattered glass wyrm started to reform into two separate wyrms. They both screamed before shooting glass shards out of their mouths. Saber opened his right wing which wasn't damaged and quickly used his blood magic to form a barrier, protecting them both. "Problem is, the more blood magic I use, the weaker I'm going to get. He crouched to his knees briefly, waiting to see if she had any ideas.

(Btw, Portal magic as in escaping to the familiar realm)

"I vote... all of them!" said Cerralei. "Oh wait, can we only vote for one? I guess that's fine. Those things all sound kinda mysterious, but the graveyard is sorta eh. The glass tower sounds like the most most mysterious!"

"At the very least, it sounds less menacing than the other places, although appearances can be deceiving," said Andalm.

Cress Everdeen

She panted, catching her breath as Saber told her their options. She glanced at the split Wyrm, knowing they had very limited time.

"Well, I'm not sure if what I'm going to say or do will work, but since I can freeze time...I'm not so sure if I can let you in that dimension or not?...Ugh dang it, it won't really..."

She cringed at her own stupidity. She never really practiced that magic of hers, even less, learned to transfer it. But if she could, she and Saber could defeat the Wyrm. But that would put her own life at risk, especially since she was just a beginner.

"Unless we can just keep running around like squirrels about to be eating."

She followed hastily, already seeing the Wyrm in action. Cress was already fluttering back to get away from the creature.

"Until someone helps us...Saber, how much blood can you use at a time? Your own or others only?!"

She called to him, all terror gone and only in search of protecting each other.

Saber

Saber shook his head as he stood up again. "No use. Running will do us no good. These things can come out of the mirrors. As for blood, if it is my own I have to be careful. Using too much will leave me weak and vulnerable but when it comes to blood not my own, I can use as much as the person gives me. The problem is, if I drink or use blood magic using someone else's blood, I lose control. With blood magic, I have a lot more freedom but drinking it makes me go wild immediately."

He continued to hold the blood barrier up for now while the two spoke and cane up with a plan. As he did, the Wyrms were firing powerful energy blasts and glass shards at the barrier.

Saiotiga,Armaros

"See she can't help you no one can the sooner you accept the better"

Saiotiga was a little disappointed but he had not given up hope yet he listened to the others talks about possible locations and thought for a moment none sounded to appealing

"I guess the Crystal tower is as good a place as any to kill time may as well go"

Rose

As soon as the box opens a talking book poped out and started trying to convince people to open it, it was pretty obvious he couldn't do much as long as it stayed closed so she could take her time investigating this bizarre situation then Rose saw Kodoku attempt to send the talking book and the book of life away but just as quickly the talking book returned Rose cast the eyes of truth spell on her glasses and took another look around hoping to find some new clue thought about the situation and the information they had received so far from the all the books being blank and even Grimoires have no words or magic inside a evil talking book that appeared to have something eivil inside it that wanted to get out overall there they didn't have a lot of clues it started to look like the key to this mystery was the book of life Rose walked over to the pedestal that the book of life Rose waved her hand runes appeared on the pedestal once activated a return spell was cast returning the book of life to its original location once its did Rose could tell the book of life really could effect reality but she also could also tell that the ink was cursed with a maddening curse Rose picked up the book and was about began writing in it when she saw the last line written in the book was about Kodoku sending the book of life and the book of Demons away in a portal after seeing this she began writing

'I will not be effected by the inks curse the truth behind what is inside the book of Demons will be revealed to me as will its true intentions and any unforeseen dangerous inside the this library"

Cerralei narrowed her eyes at Armaros. "Hey, are you being a bully to poor ol' Saiotiga?" Cerralei wasn't entirely sure that saying this would help the situation rather than hurt it. After all, Armaros was part of Saiotiga, which made it an internal issue for him. But on the other hand, Cerralei really, really disliked bullies. And, as had already been established, she wasn't one for hesitation, and for her, action with a potentially negative result was better than inaction. (The fact that Armaros was a huge, bloodthirsty creature hadn't even occured to her.)

"Leave him alone," she said, crossing her arms. "You're not helping anyone by being an asshole. We're all here to learn and grow, right? So let's focus on that. Oh, right, Saiotiga, you did just say you wanted to control him. So I guess you're not entirely innocent in that either. Maybe you should say sorry."

"I think Cerralei is right," said Andalm. "It seems like you two are stuck to each other, so you might as well learn to get along. What's the alternative? Each trying to make life hell for the other?"

Green flew up in the air, looking over to Obsethine he spoke. "I'm going to mimic your magic." He flew over to her and gently landed on her, after a moment he flew up again. Now, not only did he have his natural dragon abilities but now he could enhance them with magic. He shot out a small white fire blast from his mouth using Obsethine's magic. The giant vine flower sucked up the feathers, flaming blades and the white fire blast then spat the magic from them into the ground. Suddenly, all the flowers would glow red.

The skulls laughed as they shot a spew of fire into the air, as they did the flowers grew stronger. Quickly realising the mistake, Green closed his eyes, rewinding time to a mere four seconds before speaking out loud. "Don't let that big flower eat our magic. It will grant all the flowers your magic and make them immune." He spoke mostly to Celest, knowing Obsethine would know, since it was her magic. Instead he flew towards the large vine flower and began to shoot white fire at its roots.

The Library
The magic book laughed as it saw Rose force the Book of Life to return. Watching her writing in the book he flew over to the book of life. The book glowed and a few pages flipped, going to an earlier entry. Then it read the entry out loud.

"I shall never be affected by the book of life in any way." However, Rose's second state was still true and so, the chalkboard flipped itself over on its own revealing a picture somebody had drawn of a giant creature made entirely of ink.

Screenshot_20241028_194405_Gallery.jpg

The magic book spoke again. "Oh, I guess there really is something here. Still, remember what I told you. Rely too much on the Book of Life and it'll destroy you."

Cherry walked over and smiled to Rose. "Can I try something?" she grabbed the quill from Rose before writing.

'The ink is no longer cursed'. After than she wrote something else down. 'The monster's location shall be revealed to us'

Looking around, she saw nothing, but Crimson who had been looking over her shoulder quickly spoke up. "Guys....the painting on the third floor has changed." He looked to the painting that sat upon the desk on the third floor. The ink monster swirled around inside, watching Crimson. Cherry looked back to the Book of Life and hummed. "So, the monster isn't in the evil book then, so what is?"

Meanwhile, Wisp came out of the book and gave a shy smile to Kodoku. "It's alright. I don't mind honestly, though shouldn't we try and do something to help them down there?" It looked down, wondering what it could even do. Though Mimi bounced up onto the pedestal. "Can I eat the book of life now? I want to see what happens." She was tempted, but she held the temptation back for now.

Manta watched and listened for now, while Neptune kept a close eye on the evil book.

Kodoku replied in a happy tone, "I came to enjoy your company. If you want to help them, I won't stop you. If you want to leave them to their fate while we have fun, I am fine with that as well. If they wanted to join us in having fun, that would be fine. They're having their fun playing with the magic books. I would have figured they would enjoy the safer fun of the nonmagical books first, but to each their own. What do you want to do?"

Once again, it had no dog in the fight when it came to the books or monsters beyond how it affected its fun. There was a reason that going to the library or the woods were both equally good ideas to it. It didn't need the books any more than it needed the trees or darkness. It was the companionship it was enjoying. Sure there might be cool stories or other enjoyable things in the books, but it could read when there weren't better things to do. For now it had Wisp to play with and it didn't want to squander that opportunity. They could play tag or hide and seek amongst the stacks. They could play fight as Wisp took various shapes. They could do all sorts of fun things together no matter their location. Getting involved in what was likely to become a lot of boring studying or a real fight with some creature seemed less fun than games.

Sage Buer
Sage furrowed his brows as some of the others messed with the books. Someone even got some blood-bleeding, because the stench hit his nose. He turned his head to Agnes, about to say something to her, to see the scarlet dragoness already flying upward. What was she planning to do now? The painting? Nope...she flew higher to the top floor-the fifth one with all the blank books!
"How rude, Agnes! That was my goal anyway, and here you are, taking the spotlight away from me..."
He said with a dramatic sigh, before returning all seriousness and taking flight with Agnes. By the time he reached the top, the other was already flipping through books as if her life depended on it. First the pedestal, then the book, now what was Agnes going to trigger? Not only that, who was going to spend time with the nuisance in the third floor? Sage just begrudgingly followed the same thing his friend was doing.
"Nothing...Nothing..."
"Oh stars, what're you even expecting?-"

Moon

Karma waited for an answer as she did, she listened closely. After listening to everyone, Karma spoke. "Let's put it this way. I frankly don't give a fuck what your reason is. We have a war, so why don't you shut up and play nice becuase if you don't, I'll feast on your flesh myself in when Moon brings you out of hiding." Saying nothing more, she jumped towards the Crystal Tower, landing on the ground Karma ran the rest of the way. Once they were there, she dropped the sphere. Moon separated the two pieces and looked around before looking to a string attached to a rock which led inside. "Uuuh.... is somebody... in there? Because that isn't normal."

Saiotiga/ Armaros

Saiotiga shot Cerralei a glare

"You try having a wild beast that want nothing more then to eat and kill anyone and everything it can sink it's teeth into simply because it enjoys the taste of blood and the look of fear on its victims faces I have to constantly suppress it because if I ever let it take control it would try to kill everything in the area friend foe innocent bystanders he'll it'll even kill stray animals for the hell of it so how would you get along with something like thar"

Armaros laughed at Karma

"having a little bitch feast on my flesh sounds like a great way to relax after having to put up living this boring ass holes head hahaha"

Celest

Celest was just about to attack the monsters but Green warned her that one of the followers can eat magic and make the rest immune Celest then changed into her human form

"Guess close range attacks would be better for now"
Celest then grew a set of ash wings out of her back and flew at the giant wasp as she created an ash sword she swung for its wings hoping to cripple it but If it dogged or blocked she would shot ash spike aimed at its head out of the sword

Cerralei took a deep breath. "You're right. I'm sorry. It doesn't sound easy to live that way. And you're right. I think Armaros is the bigger problem here. But let me put it this way: What other choice do you have? I mean, it seems like not getting along makes the problem worse. I dunno, somethin' to think about. But for now, let's check this thing out, why don't we?" She then jumped after Moon. Andalm simply climbed out.

Upon seeing what Moon had seen, she said, "Hmm, well, this is interdasting. Very interdasting." She began stroking an imaginary beard below her chin.

"This seems like the kind of thing you'd make if you were trying not to get lost," said Andalm.

"Well, shall we go in?" said Cerralei.

"Do you think this person might be in trouble?" said Andalm.

"I mean, all this tells us is they decided they didn't wanna get lost before going in," said Cerralei. "So they could be doing anything for all we know. And if they are in trouble, they could use our help."

"I suppose so," said Andalm.

"Well, dunno 'bout you guys, but I'm goin' in," said Cerralei. Andalm followed her.

The Leopardess
E
verything seemed to be going so fast-much more than what she expected. Not only that, she'd been stuck in this darn mirror maze for quite a while, and even Taiga couldn't even keep enough company. Boredom was just seeping into her whole body, silence crackling in the air when-

A loud crash had just sounded nearby, followed by a few squeals and grunts of terrors. Taiga even perked up, letting out a low growl while standing besides Cynthia. Something clearly was happening, and Cynthia had exhilaration flowing through her. She had heard some challenges the students at her about-to-be school would have to overcome. Perhaps other students had just recently gotten stuck here too?

"Come on Taiga. we're about to have a feast!"

Cynthia and Taiga had already managed to slip past more of the mirrors until one crashed open and she got the view of a dragon and wolf-life creature with wings huddling up under a shield. She licked her lips, already a glimmer above her as she crouched down. A flicker of fur dances along her head, and a swerving tail. Metal glinted, already warping into shapes as Taiga leapt for a wyrm looking thing attacking the other two.

As soon as they heard the noise, that is, the crashing, squealing, and grunting, Cerralei and Andalm started running. Their pets were faster, however, and went ahead of them. There was no time to waste if someone was in trouble.

Upon coming into the area with the fighting, Andalm cast a spell to make all of his classmates more resistant to physical harm. Cerralei summoned an illusion of a three-headed dog, about twice as large as herself, to distract the wyrms. This dog, who roared at the wyrms, would be exactly like a real creature in all appearances, except for not being able to do real damage. Nei began swiping at one wyrm, exerting something close to twenty kilograms of force with each strike. Roasty Toasty opened his mouth, flame pouring out at the other wyrm. Andalm quickly muttered, "Lord, protect my classmates and give me strength," as he pulled out his knife and began slicing at the same wyrm as Nei. Cerralei summoned her keytar and began playing a chaotic, dissonant tune only the wyrms could hear in hopes of overwhelming their senses.

"D'ya hear that?" Cerralei shouted, "'cuz it's the sound of how much I want ya to FUCK OFF RIGHT NOW!" If all went well, the verbal insult would harm the wyrms even more.

The Leopardess
C
ynthia spotted more students-supposedly-piling in, and Cynthia finally made a move. The metal swarming above her had already formed into weapons such as swords and other sharp things. They flashed in the air and met with the wyrm's outercoat, but it didn't seem to work. She glanced at Taiga, then nodded.

"Help these creatures, I can handle myself."

Taiga obediently listened, standing forth a dragon coming in the rays of stars and the same wolf-like entity. The leopard had already summoned a crystalized shield, combining with the shield already there. Cynthia turned her attention back to the real enemy, seeing another illusion user create something. Cynthia simply drove her power to Taiga, creating two more of her pet with just the faint wisp of mist around them. They charged icicles out of their mouths an towards the wyrm's eyes.

"What works best against glass..."

Her eyes darted around, scanning allies and enemy.

Nekelett

Lkle Pozuzy Nekelett could hear someone crying but before he could respond they spotted the girl crying they could only see her back for now but Nekelett approached cautiously while keep an eye out for anything suspicious he didn't get to lose stopping a few feet from her

"Are hurt miss?"

Asdreum, Azetzal, Axol

The three had spending their time searching for information related to Cherry's curse but only found basic information about how it operates

Asdreum
"So essentially she keep deaging until unbirth or death. Then when she eventually dies, her soul will belong to Astaroth... simply but effective so there's no loopholes to exploit or tricks to undo it... so if we can't undo it could we counter with another curse like one that accelerates ageing?"

Axol Thought about it for a moment

Axol
"Theoretically yes that could work but it could also have s bad reaction to the deaging curse if Astaroth Thought to ward against such a thing"

Azetzal
"Why are you even trying to hard to help her either she is destined to beat the curse and you don't need to work so hard or she isn't and your efforts are pointless"

Axol
"Even if you believe in Fate it isn't so set in stone that you can achieve something with no effort and with enough effort it's possible to change fate"

Rose

"So we have more problems to worry about then this evil book I don't like the idea or going into tge painting to fight it it's never smart to fight someone in their own base"

Rose could sense a never ending hunger from the monster and thought for a second and decided to take a small risk she held out her hand and created multiple fire on the painting setting it on fire worst case she can always restore the painting with magic if needed but if she could force tge monster out of tge painting it would definitely be safer then going inside
