Isla smiled up at him, adoration sparkling in her eyes. She loved him more and more by the moment. She was smitten, as they say. She smiled shyly towards Gurak, a faint blush tinting her freckled cheeks.
"H-hello there."
He appeared to be in a fight of some kind, although from her short vantage point she couldn't see who with.
"A-are you fighting?"
She frowned, searching for his adversary. It was then she saw him, which beckoned the question:
'Why are they all so handsome?!'

Zane O'Conner
"Try it?!? Ha I ain't trying that shit. You must want me to die if you want me to eat that crap!!" He said as he removed the axe and waved the piece of meat around. "If this is the type of food I have to look forward too within this damn run down guild then shit I might as well not waste my damn..." Zane's anger grant was cut off by some guy with an ugly goatee. A frown grew on his face as he prepared himself to snap on the other guy, but before he could a female voice rang through his ears. He turn towards the source to see a beautiful elf and human hybrid. "Uhh no we were merely have a simple discussion." Zane said rubbing the back of his head. He then stretched his hand out towards the hybrid. "Hey I'm-" His stomach growled mid sentence. "Hungry very hungry, but my name is Zane. What about you??" TheImmortalDeity TheImmortalDeity Lotusy Lotusy Rui Rui

Isla smiled lopsidedly, a nervous giggle slipping through her lips.
"I'm also very hungry." Her stomach growled as if to prove her point.
It was then she realized he, Zane as he'd told her, was actually referring to her name. She sighed to herself, really wishing for death in this moment.
"I-I mean, I'm Isla...nice to meet you, Zane."
She looked at his hand, curious as to why it was extended towards her, before recalling this was a customary greeting, long since forgotten in her isolated life. She gently took his hand in hers and shook it firmly, still delicate in her touch.
"A...pleasure."

Alyssa paused, looking up at the skies. Her eyes then fell to the surroundings, wondering why her instincts were acting up. It felt like someone was...trying to stake a claim on something that was hers. "...Oh, that bastard!" she'd ground out, starting to move faster. "When I find them, they're going to regret every single moment!" with that, she began to check her equipment, before making sure her bitch glove was on. The glove was a metal plated glove, with the plating being upon the back for hitting someone with a fist, or with a backhand slap.

To an outwards viewer, they could easily feel the fury radiating off the woman in waves, steadily increasing. Each motion of hers was harsh, each step a heavy stomp. To whomever was on the other end, they were certainly going to be screwed. While something else brewed, a faint feeling of fear. More than a little, as it was the main source of the anger.

And so she began to take a forced march pace, able to make it to the destination within a day, over two days overall. It would be a longer trip, but it could certainly be done. She'd be exhausted by the point she got there, but it could, and will, be done in a manner that would enable her to destroy that infidel where he stood.

    Infirmary

It wasn't more than a moment for Alister to kick himself up from the realm of Morpheus. His body lurched up, the world fuzzy to him, as his senses were dulled. A drawback of his abilities at times, as the world was surreal. It wasn't real; it wasn't real-

Everything snapped into focus suddenly. He was in the infirmary. Why? No. How? He was carrying- right.

He'd shot Jayn. A blur of motion, scripture flowing from him, dogma without purpose, a trio of shots ringing through the dark.

Alister's inner turmoil was almost hidden from those who knew him, let alone those who did. Mental discipline was key to his fighting style, considering it operated on a lack of tells to fight. His inner world exempt from his outer world, his feet planting themselves on the ground beside his bed. His gear set on the table beside him, as he was...frustrated. More than frustrated, in a sense. Justice had overtaken him, and become Vengeance.

There wasn't much of a thought, as he picked up his revolver, unloading it with a swift move. Each of the six bullets falling into his palm, being slotted back into his coat's loops. Alister, looking like a man damned to follow his path, made his way across the room, setting his revolver down on the table beside Jayn. If she dared take it, who knew? And so his footsteps began to carry him back to his table, slipping his combat belt back on. A breath of air pulled in, released, as he focused himself on the relatively minor task of getting back to his own room.

Now if only I can do this without trouble approaching me for what I've done.

If he somehow managed to get out into the main room without trouble, his eyes strayed to the scene within the main hall. A new woman, of kind features. They were...certainly beautiful, in a sense. But for now, he would not pester them. Silence followed him like a cloak, part of his training being used on an instinctive level.

"Ryder. I...apologize for my actions," was the first words he said to his current master, gathering his coat around him like a safety net. "I shouldn't have acted on instinct over thought. It was foolish of me." His hood, unsurprisingly, came up a second later, as to keep his face somewhat obscure. A nervous habit displayed at times, it came in full now.

"...I doubt they can recover easy, either. A shot to the shoulder is crippling." there was budding regret in his voice, not quite to a proper emotion, as his voice was still almost apathetic, but the 'almost' part was important. The little flame of guilt was in them, and would only build over time.

Abigail
Abigail waved farewell to Ryder as he left the three girls "Well, wasn't he a lovely fella. Well time to look for quests." Abigail spun around childishly as she finished saying goodbye to Ryder in her cheerful tone. "So a hat quest..." Abigail traced the board with her finger, looking at all the quests till she found one that might feature a hat. "Quest...quest...hat...hat...haty hat haty hat hat, hat haty hat" Abigail started to sing, her finger motion transformed into her conducting a orchestra. Abigail lost herself in her music, her words turned into hums and her mind imagined her as a serious conductor playing in front of a huge audience, and each member of the guild was playing a different instrument, and she controlled them all, making wonderful music. Abigail's motions became harder and forceful, the music in her head was taking new directions and the tune and tone changed completely and the music was going all over the place, but Abigail still imagined it being a masterpiece even if it would sound terrible. The song came to a close after a few minutes of Abigail drifting into her own world, but when she came back to reality her eyes were linked with a piece of paper which she select parts of and then she combined many letters and words in her head till the paper read "witch hats available after this quest." Abigail's eyes twinkled with excitement and she ripped the paper of the wall, she spun around and held out the paper to show the other two. "Hats! it says there are hats! and they are witchy hats so they are going to be fancy and pointy! they will look so cuteee on you two!" Abigail exclaimed with excitement, she poked her head out over the top of the paper she was holding out, her eyes continued to shine.

Su'tal
There was an odd sound as Su'tal felt his legs slowly begin to thaw once more, an experience made all the more odd by the fact that he'd only just regained the use of his legs, but losing the ability to move forward was nothing compared to chocking on ice mist, something Su'tal found out a few seconds later he he began to choke on mist. It was at this point that Su'tal's eyes widened as he realized one of two things was happening at this very moment, "O-Oh god! This guy knows who my family is and is going to torture and ransom me off! Either that or he hates goblins...god what if it's BOTH?!"

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Su'tal had yelled this out at this point, cheeks red, tears beginning to fall onto his cheeks and his nose running ever so slightly. Su'tal turned to Arnold, not even realizing the man had asked a question, and put his hands together as if he was pleading for his life, "I'M SO SORRY SIR! I CAME HERE BECAUSE MY FAMILY WAS KIDNAPPED AND I WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH TO HELP THEM SO I THOUGHT I'D COME HERE AND WAIT TILL THE TOURNAMENTS STARTED SO I COULD GET A BETTER GUILD TO HELP ME AND STUFF BUT I DIDN'T KNOW YOU GUYS WERE SO FREAKING STRONG AND IM SORRY I LIED AND PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"

Su'tal took in a deep ragged breath before continuing, "I HAVE MONEY AND STUFF IF YOU WANT THAT I'LL STAY AND HELP AROUND THE GUILD-HALL-PLACE OR WHATEVER YOU WANT ME TO DO JUST PLEASE DON'T KILL ME! THERE'S SO MANY BOOKS I HAVEN'T READ, AND THERE'S SO MANY BOOKS I'VE YET TO WRITE MYSELF! SO I BEG OF YOU, HAVE A HEART!" Su'tal then sniffed a few times and looked up at Arnold with the biggest puppy dog eyes he could manage in such a high stress situation.

Ryder
He watched the two youngsters exchange pleasantries. As Ryder grew older in age, he found himself fond of the moments that happened within the guild, and oddly enough, this was one of them. One of the wonders of being a leader of any guild was to be able to see first hand the interactions between the members and help them grow accordingly. Maybe it was about time he stepped down from his mantle and quitted his silly, flirtatious games. While he was a wild one, he never viewed himself as the type to get in between a blossoming relationship, especially not with young love.

Not able to hide the expression of a smug grin, he watched as the two awkwardly spoke to one another, as if he was a father of some sort. Tapping his fingers on the counter, he waited patiently, his eyes glazing over as he became less and less tuned in with the conversation. Then, he heard a new voice perk up. It was Alister. It seemed the bugger finally woke up after a good blow to the head, and now he was apologizing to Ryder for the actions he performed earlier. This man was truly an odd one, which wasn't saying much when one worked for this guild that Ryder took so much pride in.

"I'm not the one you should be apologizin' to, Alister. If you wanna get that guilt off your chest, then you have to face it head on. That means confronting Jayn directly. Be lucky that out of everyone that you could've shot in this whole damn guild, it was her. She's a little wacky, but she is forgiving, er, maybe. I haven't talked to them (surprisingly) enough to really know what's going on in their head most of the time," Ryder told the apologetic individual, turning to him with a raised brow. "You want to better yourself, don't you? I'd say this is a good start towards that goal."

Glancing back to Isla and Zane, the guild leader was unsure of his feelings, which was rare for him. Letting out a subtle cough to get their attention, he spoke up. "Isla, once you're done eating, I'm going to have someone take you up to the infirmary. Serena, your partner, seems to have things under control in there for now. Ah, also, this is Alister, one of our few experienced guild members. If you have any questions, you can ask him. He'll be the one taking you. Anyway, I, uh, am gonna head back to my quarters. I have some things to think about." Silently disengaging himself from the conversation, Ryder had forgotten about leaving Sede at the front door, but that was the least of his concerns. For now.

So, without further delay, he headed for his room. Something was bugging the back of his mind. He just didn't know what.

Arnold

As Arnold watched the sight of Su'tal sobbing and begging for his life - well, it was a bit pitiful, if he had to be honest. Everything the goblin said - or rather, screamed, the older man couldn't help but shake his head at. Su'tal had a tendency to gush, and Arnold could only keep his arms folded as he waited for the boy to finish. For a second, as each confession came forth, he felt a momentary twang of guilt for pushing the goblin boy so far, but in those crying eyes, he saw something only tough love, or rather, toughness alone, could handle. And here I was naive enough to think I could escape young folly. I'm starting to mistrust my own addled judgement here.

Banishing all forms of cold from the surrounding area, Arnold knelt to see eye-to-eye with Su'tal. No longer was the man going for pure intimidation - though the air of toughness still hung around him like the mist had before. Instead, his face softened up a bit - warmer features to accompany the still-stern words he'd say. "Alright, son. Let's get one thing straight here. I'm not going to kill you, and I certainly don't need your money or your work." Straightening up, Arnold gestured to the rest of the guild. "As much as we are in short supply of these resources, I believe the Order cares about more than wealth. Adventurers, the brave and bold, the cunning or dexterous - anyone with drive is someone we need. And that's why I'm calling your drive into question."

Folding his arms once more and staring down at Su'tal (and trying his best to ignore the puppy dog eyes), Arnold continued. "I now know you have a drive, boy. You said it yourself - you have a family in need of saving. Is that not the most noble of causes to rally for?" Breaking his stare, the older man shook his head. "But to me, it sounds like an excuse. If you have such a strong wind at your back, why do you shy away in the face of even a simple introduction? You have stakes strong enough to power any man for miles - but where is your resolve, boy?!" Letting the last part thunder across the guild hall at a volume matching Su'tal's earlier yells, Arnold made one more gesure to the open door. "You can stay alive, keep all your money, and write all the books you'd ever want to write if you step out that door. However, I can promise, if you stay here, you can do that all, and save your family. Just show a little spine, and you'll go miles." Extending a hand to Su'tal, s flicker of a smile crossed Arnold's face. "What do you say, son?"

Maria

Maria became almost as flustered as Celica was once she saw the girl's reaction to being called a "princess" - further solidifying her reasons for never uttering that word in public again. She was poised to apologize, too, before the girl made a very un-princess-like squeal and spilled some food, causing the swordswoman to let out a good-natured laugh in response. Despite all of Celica's dips and embarrassment, Maria did her best to steady her feeding hand every time, wondering how cool she looked at the moment.

At the mention of her bring Celica's knight, a broad smile crossed the swordswoman's face. This was just the thing she'd wanted to hear. "Of course, miss! A princess's dynamic duo would be incomplete without her knight? Don't you agree? En garde!" Brandishing the empty spoon like she would usually brandish her sword, Maria followed up her little antics with another laugh. It was almost nice, really, finding someone just as ridiculous as her in this equally strange guild. Maria's broad grin stretched even wider at the thought, becoming almost as giddy with being called a knight as Celica became flustered at being called a "princess". "Maybe I should complete the ensemble," she joked. "You wouldn't happen to know where I could pick up a bright white horse and shining armor, would you?"

However, before the two could joke around any more, Maria watched Celica dip back into her depressed state from before. It was almost concerning, watching the girl's gaze draw away as she thought fewer happy thoughts, and Maria couldn't help but retreat inwardly too, trying her best to read this situation herself. Maybe it's not working? Am I too depressing? With that thought, she shook her head furiously. No, Maria. Chin up, now. If you can't force out a smile in this moment, how can you expect her too?

"Well, it's a honor meeting you, m'l- er, Miss Celica," she managed, steering to attention once the girl introduced herself. Just as she was being studied by Celica for her knightly features, Maria watched the girl, still drawing connections between her and the princesses she'd always heard of. In a way, the swordswoman was almost glad that she wasn't an actual princess, and just a normal girl with her own embarrassments, just like - embarrassingly enough - the twenty-five year old woman who was just as horrible as holding up the conversation in this situation.

Then, Celica decided to hit her with a bit of a curveball of a question. Her quizzical, wavering eyes bored into Maria's as she kept the woman - surprisingly - pinned down with a single hand. The weight of this question was immense, and in the moment, Maria found herself questioning her own values. What should I say, though? "Oh yea, you looked pretty weak, and I just had an instinct to help you?" Nonono, that wouldn't work. Drat! I can't believe I forgot about how she'd feel afterwards! What if she has a complex, or some physical disability, or thinks I'm taking advantage of-

As her thoughs began to overwhelm her, Maria quickly silenced them, deciding to pull a mostly honest answer from her heart, with haste. "Well," She started, keeping a slow pace as not to stutter. "I did say you looked sorta like a princess, didn't I? Half of it's just based on your appearance - that's a compliment, by the way." Putting down the bowl and feigning adjusting her hair to wipe away a bead of sweat on her forehead, Maria continued. "But to tell the truth - and I hope this doesn't bother you too much - but it did seem like you needed help." Biting her tongue at the reaction this would no doubt draw, the swordswoman pushed forward. "But that doesn't make you weak as a person. Sure, in the moment, we're both stuck in an infirmary, but I'm sure you have your own strengths and weaknesses - and the latter doesn't make you any more or less or a princess." Maria continued to keep her gaze unbroken. "And for now, I just wanted to help you get back on your own two feet. There's nothing wrong with that, is there?"

Disappointed in her own slightly unsatisfactory answer, Maria tried to turn the conversation away from the minefield Celica had set. "But you know, a knight doesn't just have to help someone escape their physical bonds - A true knight help in any way possible." Reversing the hold Celica had on her hand, Maria stared back at the girl. "And I have a hunch something's troubling you right now - but that's up to you to share. If it's too personal, feel free to keep it to yourself, but don't keep it pent up for too long, okay?"

Gurak

"Alright, picky boy, suit yourself. Meat's hard to come by on this godforsaken island, you know." Popping the piece of meat into his mouth in a single, giant gulp, Gurak immediately tasted the burnt-ness Zane was referring too, but still kept unwavering eye contact on the man just to prove his (unjust) point. "You've gotta savor every bit of it, Zane. Why not try some, and build up those things you call muscles while you're at it?" Turning back to his kitchen with a huff, Gurak was ready to bury himself in the task of stoking the fire once more.

Before he could get very far, however, the orc was stopped by a very familiar voice coming from a mouth above a very specific someone's goatee. His eye twitch at yet another botched attempt at his name, causing some anger to rise in the orc, especially in light of the little spat he'd just had with Zane. "Ryder, I swear," he growled, having half a mind to whirl around with a knife in hand - that is, until he heard a much softer "Hello there" from the same direction. Turning around to see a small woman - half-human, half-elf, according to Ryder. "Er, hi there," he muttered, embarrassed, but almost glad this new recruit was back just in time to stop him from going ballistic. "Heard that ya loud and clear, Ryder," he said, turning back to his kitchen after the goateed leader placed Isla's order.

Tying a tattered apron around his huge midriff with a huff, Gurak let himself calm his nerves by brutally chopping up some of the new meat from today's shipment, skewering it and cooking it with a frightening calmness to it. Once he finished, the orc grabbed two pieces of meat and seasoned them before slapping both on plates, with one even for Zane as a bit of a subtle burnt-meat apology. As he walked outside, though, the orc noticed Ryder was gone - and for a good reason, as he saw the two mew members awkwardly - but almost charmingly - trying to hold conversation, and a knowing smile spread across the orc's face as he realized what Ryder had left for.

Heading back into the kitchen, the orc carved out a certain organ from today's cow and cooked it to, before presenting Isla and Zane with their plates - and on both, in addition to the first slab of meat, looked vaguely like half of a cow's heart, cooked to a decent degree. "Chow down, you two," he grumbled, trying his best not to smile and interrupt the two. "And that means you, Mr. Too-good-for-protein. I'm watching you." Retreating back into the kitchen after his little quip to Zane, the orc settled down in the back with a sigh. Perhaps this guild didn't need to pay him too much to get him to stick around, after all.

Su'tal
Su'tal took in a few deep breaths and wiped the remaining tears from his eyes as he looked worridly at Arnold. As the old man began to speak however, Su'tal began to realize that the man before him wasn't out to kill him or anything of the sort, but instead simply trying to guide him, and while Su'tal appreciated the kind words and understood WHAT the man before him was saying, he was still very worried.

Su'tal looked at Arnold's outstretched hand and grimaced before eventually speaking, though the words came out odd, like he was forcing them out of him mouth, "I...appreciate the kind words, b-but sir I'm just a shitty goblin...truth be told, I...I never left my house before I traveled here, I'm not here to join the guild so much as I'm here to bide my time until someone good enough to help me comes by. I-I've never had to question my strength or resolve, hell, only a few weeks ago the biggest challenge I faced on a daily basis was going to sleep before midnight. I-I'm not built for any of this..."

Su'tal looked away breifly in shame, pulling his hood tightly over his face so his eyes didn't have to meet Arnold's as he spoke, "...I'm the guy who stays at home and reads stories ABOUT adventuring and rescuing the princess and saving the nobles, not the one who DOES any of those things really, I'm really surprised I didn't die already to be completely honest..." A moment passed again as Su'tal swallowed the lump in his throat and took another glance at the door, "If I'd been my father or brother, maybe I'd be more willing to do this, but as it is now I'm realizing really quickly this was a mistake. So I'm sorry mister...ice...guy-man, but I think it's better if I just apologize for wasting your time and be on my way, so if you could just...you know, unfreeze me I'll get out of your hair..."

Arnold

Arnold's face darkened with storm clouds of fury and disappointment as he watched Su'tal turn down his offer, pulling forth more excuses to guard himself than a magician conjuring up ribbons. All traces of warmth left his face once more, and the brief traces of a smile turned back into the cold-cut grimace he'd held for years on end now. As if by pure reaction, the temperature of the hall dipped once more, and the classic icy gaze affixed itself to Su'tal again.

"Do not mistake guidance for kindness, boy," Arnold hissed, bitterness tinting every individual syllable. "I'm not here to prop you up, or cheer you on. What do you expect me to tell you? That you're not a 'shitty goblin'? Give a support to your utterly deflated pride? I don't come bearing false promises that you'll gain bravery or willpower, nor will I guarantee the achievements you seek with this awful guild, but I can promise that you will at least temper your resolve to do those yourself. Is that not the greatest thing you can gain from this guild?"

As he continued to speak, dust-gray clouds began to accumulate around Arnold, shrouding everything but his glaring eyes from Su'tal as he loomed over the boy once more. "But it seems promises aren't your style," he muttered, slowly switching to a more inflammatory tone despite the cold, calming air around him. "Do you not realize the absolute pity you're spouting right now? No, you do - but no self-respecting being should ever do that." Another long sigh came forth, followed by another degree's drop in temperature. "Drunk on stories of others' successes, but no will to bring about your own - fool! Do you expect others to write glorious tales for you? Mistake? Hah! You may be right! In my age, I must have mistaken this mere ghost of a goblin for someone with potential! Oh, how addled I've become!"

To Su'tal's last request, Arnold could only spit at the ground, a drop that quickly crystalized and shattered to the complete silence he gave in return. "... Your legs are already unfrozen," he said, finally breaking his short spell of silence. "And yet, you remain rooted here only by your own will - or perhaps, by your own fear." Without another word, Arnold slowly trudged to block the door, only opening his mouth again once he'd firmly planted himself there. "How about we even the odds a bit here? I thought any shred of conscience would have pulled you towards this guild, but it seems this exit seems infinitely more appealing to you." With one tap from Arnold's fingers, frost began to spread across the doorframe. "And now you must earn it. You've had your chance to simply flee - it won't come so easily anymore."

Crossing his arms, the man kept up his steady gaze as ice began to slowly close up the exit behind him. "You've given yourself enough will to come here - show me that you have enough spine to retreat, too. Or take the new cowards route of staying put." Another smile finally showed up on Arnold's face, but it bore more resemblance to a cold sneer than anything of the warm kind from before. "Well, I'd suppose you should be hurrying up now. Clock's ticking."

Zane O'Conner
"The pleasure is mine." Zane said as he shook Isla's soft hands. He then retracts his hand and leans against the table. He looks within the kitchen seeing Gurak cook up some more meat. As he looks into the kitchen he speaks. "I hope you like meat, because it seems that's all he know how to cook." He said referring to Gurak. After finishing his cook, Gurak stepped out the kitchen with two plates. On both plates was a slab of meat and what looked like a half of heart. Zane looks at the heart in question then he looks at Gurak. He picks up a knife and pokes at the piece of heart. "Uhh Gurak, the slab of meat looks better than last time, but ummm plea seeee tell me you ain't trying to feed me a damn heart." He said a bit calmer. "You can have the heart, I'm not in the mood to eat a cows heart. I'll just take the slab of meat. Do you have any bread so I can make me a damn sammich??" He asked still poking at the heart. Isla
The hybrid smiled bashfully, then took to her plate without further delay, wolfing down whatever meat Gurak had prepared and hardly bothering to breathe between bites.
Needless to say, she had been starving.
Her place was empty in a matter of seconds, her stomach, full.
"T-that was excellent. Do you...have anymore?"
She wasn't the type to ask for seconds, especially after the kindness she'd been shown so far, but GODS that was great.

Serena Scarlet

Serena couldn't blame them for wanting to get up and do things already, but that wasn't going to bode well for them even if she were to let them. "Look, you're here because you've suffered injuries that require medical attention in some form or another. Until I say so, you're stuck with me and you won't be doing anything crazy unless I tell you to." She finished the last few bites of her stew and set it off to the side, walking over to the pair and standing between their cots. Facing Maria, she looked the girl up and down. "Luckily the only wound you suffered was a gunshot to the knee, but it still needs my close attention since it shattered your kneecap. I can fix it up with some healing magic, but it's going to take some time, and I mean weeks, perhaps even months. That means you won't be able to leave the guild without my permission, you'd have to visit me often to continue the healing process, and I'd probably need to watch any training you may do to be sure you don't overwork yourself." She gestured to the leg in question, "If you'd be so kind as to let me examine it I should be able to get a better idea of how long it'll take, plus I need to change your bandages anyway."

Looking to the other girl she smiled, "I'm glad you ate something dear. I wish I could do more for you but sadly there's nothing I can do. I don't have the supplies needed for detox, and trying to use my magic in anyway will only harm you more. You should recover within a week so long as the over healing wasn't to much, but I'll be keeping an eye on you just in case." Serena looked over to the other two cots where a third girl and a man were sleeping before continuing. "Right now you're both very weak," She first looked to Maria, "because of blood loss and the inability to move your leg," then to Celica, "and because someone over healed you. I'm doing what I can to get you back to full strength, but keep in mind that it'll take time, so don't expect any quick results otherwise I'll beat some sense into you." Gesturing to Maria once more, Serena held a roll of bandages in hand, "Now let me see that leg of yours so we can figure out the damage."
Keep in mind that it'll take time, so don't expect any quick results otherwise I'll beat some sense into you.

Celica
Once Maria had spoken, Celica averted her gaze from the stoic woman. She held a frown, but it was more of an inward expression of herself, rather than towards the answer she had gotten. Of course, she wouldn't have gotten the perfect answer, especially not with the way she worded and badgered about it. Using her free hand to tuck her hair behind her ear, Celica would divert her attention back to Maria, a new, warm smile replacing the once depressing visage. "You're a kind person, Miss Guerra. It was tasteless of me to ask something so trivial as that to a woman of your valor, and for that, I apologize."

"You need not concern yourself over me," she began, unable to not take notice of the lack of clothing near Maria's lower regions. "It might not look like it, but I'm quite tough for someone my age, y'see?" As if to prove a point, Celica pretended to be someone along the lines of a burly woodcutter, flashing her not-so-impressive muscle and posing with a giggle. "You'd best be scared if you ever see me on the battlefield, you hear!?" she cried with a triumphant roar, covering her mouth once realizing how loud she was getting. "So, uh, you see," she mumbled skittishly, "I can handle myself quite well."

Her little bravado act was cut short by a woman in baggy garbs. Celica couldn't help but flash them a smile of pride when they mentioned how well she ate, but what worried her was the blunt statement of Maria's wounds. It appalled her, honestly, to now know how selfish she had been to the poor Maria when, she too, was in no better of a place than her. An injury to the leg was no laughing matter, and Celica had seen her fair share of injuries out in the lawless land she once called her own home. This wasn't the time to be getting sentimental, however. Her newest knight wasn't going to get any better by just sulking.

Intertwining her fingers with Maria's, Celica gave them a reassured nod, as if to say: "Everything will be OK." Giving a smile that was only outshone by her magical capabilities, she watched as Serena went to work, not exactly giving the two any privacy. What did it matter, anyway? At this point, Celica was hardly even wearing her own dress anymore, the sweat on it making it too uncomfortable to bear. "B-Be careful with her, please!"

Alister's spirits fell for a moment. He had to talk to the newcomers after the horridly botched event of last time? At least he didn't have any weapons on him, so he couldn't possibly have himself threatened. Nor did he have any armor, so he wasn't threatening in the least, except for fact that he stood taller than most people at his height of six feet and two inches. So his hands reached up to his hood, pulling it back and over his head, as to reveal his face.

And so there was a few definitive things for people to notice, namely Zane and Isla. From the wide forehead revealed by neatly tied back hair of silver and onyx coloration, to the rectangular face with a slightly pointed chin and sturdy jaw line. His eyes are stone green, shadowed over by a pair of trimmed eyebrows that seemed to extend from a distinctly Greek nose. As for his outfit, it would consist of a worn pine green overcoat, a brown silk vest with a white dress shirt underneath that, and finally heavier pants with black leather boots upon his feet of heavy make. Upon the back of the coat would be the symbol of the Scholars threaded in silver, standing out heavily from the coat’s dark color.

When he spoke, there was a faint Greek accent to his voice, as from the years that he spent in such a country, as he moved up beside Isla, as to say something.

"Miss, please inform me whenever you are ready to go to the infirmary. I'll merely be waiting." was his light words, as a tired tone was within it. "And don't be afraid to take your time; I perfectly understand when Gurak's food is perfectly good to eat, as there isn't any way he doesn't cook a decent meal." and at those words, he gave a faint grin and nod to the orc, having mentioned his name after all. There was many things to say about the orc, but to say he was bad at his art was not one of them.

And with that, he would roll in shoulders, finding a chair and pulling it to the side of the room. A small book came out, something about the ancient arts of the world. So Alister would begin to read, his eyes drifting along the page.

Charlotte

'Help an old lady across the street? Is he fucking serious?!' Charlotte could've punched him right then and there but she held herself back as to not start a commotion. So instead she glared at the back of his head and flipped him off as he walked away.
Turning her attention back to Abigail and Pandora, She looked over the flyer that her sister was holding. "Abigail! Did you even read all of what it says?" She yanked the flyer out of her hands so she could read it properly. It read: 'Witch terrorizing the town of Bot. Need help defeating her. Make sure to wear rain coats and bring umbrellas.
She would've protested but 'This is the perfect way for me to show him that I can do more then just girly things! Not only will I bring back a witch hat for Abigail but I will bring back the head of that damn witch too!'
She giggled at the thought, only it didn't sound as cute as she thought it did. Heck, it sounded more like she was about to wipe out the guild. "Girls. We have a quest to do! Grab your best gear and anything you need. We will meet at the kitchen."
There was no way Charlotte was going to just prance out in this outfit, it wouldn't stand a chance in the rain! And of course they had to take some food with them before they leave, in case they get hungry.
Charlotte was so lost in thought that she just walked off to get her stuff ready to go.

Ryder
"ODEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The scream rang throughout the entire guild as the leader prepped himself up for a running start, bending down and pushing off into a mad dash towards the younger man. Closing the gap between the two of them with around six large steps, Ryder glomped right on top of the man, sending them both falling to the floor with a THUD. Rustling his hair like any responsible and careful master would do, Ryder would swoon, nuzzling his head into Oden's chest. "You lovable bastard! Where have you been this entire time, eh!?" Raising himself to meet Oden's gaze, the flirtatious demon would feign a blush. "I-I missed you."

He might've gone a little thick on the act but it was questionable as to how much was just a 'joke' to the man. Notably speaking, there hasn't been too many occasions as to where Ryder would've ever become comfortable with Oden, yet here he was paying no mind to the paladin's personal space or even well-being for that matter. With his face close to Oden's, it was obvious that Ryder had been drinking heavily, his breath reeking of alcohol and his eyes most likely playing delusions on him. Palming Oden's cheek, Ryder raised a brow. "Tell me, Oden. Wanna take a little excursion to my room? I promise I don't bite."

Maria

Maria noticed the unsatisfied look that flashed across Celica's face, visibly wincing once she realized her own answer hadn't be sufficient. The girl, however, seemed to buoy back easily from the disappointment, a trait in her Maria quickly grew to appreciate. "Right, right," she said, ego swelling at the use of "Ms. Guerra" and Celica's choice of fine language, making the swordswoman turn to mimicking upper-crust attitude in response. "Oho? My valor, you say! Truly, Miss Celica, you do me great honor with these words!" Pantomiming swirling an imaginary cup of wine in her now-free hands, she brought back her smile, glad the conversation was steering towards better topics.

Celica's "burly woodcutter" impression did a great job of drawing a laugh from Maria, who was amazed at how easily they could bounce conversations and antics off each other. "How fearsome," she whispered, feigning awe at the "burly" ray of light. "I'm sorry, Miss Celica. I didn't know I was in the presence of such a fearsome warrior as yourself." Giving the best polite bow that she could muster from a bed, the swordswoman followed it up with a flex of her own, slightly better muscles and a grin. "Perhaps we should compare strengths soon. I'm positively quaking at having to face such a mighty display as yours!"

Before she could actually make an attempt at crushing a 14 year-old girl in arm wrestling, the baggy-robed healer made her re-entrance. Her tone and the news she brought didn't exactly do wonders for the conversation or morale, but Maria tried her best to smile through it - if not for herself, for the girl in the cot beside her. Instead of asking some question like "How bad can it get?" or "What can I do to make it better?" Maria simply let out a low whistle. "Well, that's some news," she muttered, picking her words carefully. "Give me a second. It's not every day a woman has to hear that she'll be bed-bound for a month."

Not ready to check out her wound again, Maria stayed silent for a few more moments until the healer asked to see her knee for the second time. "Right, right, don't need to hear it twice," she grunted, shifting her body around until it faced Serena. "Gonna have to ask for a decency plea though, miss." With that, she hiked up the blanket up just just above her knee, holding it bare to the air. "Well, that sure isn't pretty,' she said after another low whistle. "Can you see this alright? I know this isn't some star reading, but maybe I can get you a closer look-" With another grunt, Maria hiked up her leg, sending pain through her body, but also causing a wide smile to cross her face. "Oh hey, that's a real knee-jerk reaction, don't you think?" After a good second of self-humoring laughter for her terrible joke, Maria lifted her leg again - this time, with her arms instead. "I don't think it's too hideous though, do you - and it's still mobile, too! How long would you give it, miss, uh... infirmary lady?"

Gurak

Before Gurak got much of a chance to rest his beefy green behind, what he assumed to be a blooming conversation turned into calls for more food. "Coming!" He yelled, Stepping back outside with his apron hanging only from his neck, two reactions flashed through his mind. The first was "How picky can this Zane kid be?" - and the second was "Holy shit, where did all of the gal's meat go?" Sweating a bit from a small mix of anger and surprise, Gurak let out a bit of an awkward laugh, which sounded even weirder at his pitch. "Alright I hear you, I hear you," he said, both to Zane and Isla. "Give me a second - I'll be out in a moment."

Stepping back into the kitchen, Gurak looked for Zane's "bread", while slipping another slice of meat off the fire and onto a plate - it couldn't hurt to add another one, especially on meat shipment day, right? Finding two pitiful pieces of half-baked flour leftover from some unknown time, the orc headed back out with both food items, tossing each onto the plate he needed - and snatching the half-heart back from Zane's. "There's your bread, picky boy," he said, before turning back to Isla. "And, er - I dunno what to say. If you enjoy that, try showing how good it is, won't you? Look at all the meat he's gonna need on those bones!" Noticing Alister in the back, a mischievous smile spread across Gurak's face - or at least, as mischievous as the leathery green surface could manage "Oh hey Alister, bud! It's been a while! Why don't you have a seat on these nice, wood benches, at this nice, wood counter..." Pausing to let it sink in for a moment, the orc let out a slightly sour laugh. "You haven't gotten the wood, have you?"

Pandora

"Uh... adios, hard dude," Pandora muttered, waving alongside Abigail as Ryder went of to - flirt? Actually help someone? Something else crazy? The nervous girl didn't really know what Ryder got up to - and it just made her even more nervous. Maybe he was accosting another poor girl(/trap), or making some sort of evil plot, or loitering evilly as his normal hard self - Pandora was having alot of fun with this speculation, if it wasn't obvious enough.

Thankfully, before it could get any weirder, her attention was drawn to something else - the quest - finally! "Hey, hey! I love hats, too! Lemme see!" Yanking the flyer from Charlotte, who ended up heading back to her room to prepare, Pandora scanned the paper. "Raincoats, right... hey, Abigail! Where does it talk about the hats? All I see are some lame coupons." Staring at the paper for a while longer, Pandora shrugged, tucking the paper into a shirt pocket. "I'll ask Charlotte when she comes back - I can't even read that well, anyways. Now c'mon, let's pack!"

Once she reached her room, Pandora opened up her small, jam-packed closet, picking out something along the lines of five raincoats. With one, she wrapped three sticks of dynamite so tightly they would have suffocated if they were alive - and with the other four? She pulled them all on, not wanting to catch a cold, of course. With a couple more essentials like a crowbar, more tinderboxes, a couple more traps and trapping mechanisms, and basic rations - she left her room, overdressed and surprisingly underweaponized. The hunk of clothing and traps eventually struggled her way into the main guild hall, waiting for both sisters to come down as well.

(Inventory:
-3 sticks of dynamite
-5 raincoats
-Crowbar
-3 bear traps, spool of twine, assorted nuts, bolts, and springs
-Various rations: crackers, bread, maybe jerky? Small bits of dried fruit and crumbs, mostly for bait
-A great sense of paranoia)

It wasn't long before something took away his precious time of day, as he lightly shut the book, and set it aside on the table. Alister's head lifted up and glanced over, listening to the massive man's words. "...Of everything I could have forgotten, it was the most important thing on the list." his entire body almost deflated, and it wouldn't be long for him to stick his book back inside his coat. His feet found their way off the table, and onto the floor, as he began his walk right back over to Gurak. There was a deep breath, as he brushed a hand through his hair, collecting himself to find the words for this...

"I'm going to get chopping wood as soon as I carry out the Guild Master's order- which is to escort this beautiful young lady here," at that, he'd gesture to Isla, "To the infirmary once she's done eating, so she can assist our other new healer in the task of getting everything settled." there was a distinct pause, as Alister kept his eyes upon Gurak, for a brief moment.

Then he would turn to face Isla, as to speak further.
"And I would be Alister, and pleased to assist with anything that you might need, as long as it doesn't prevent me from assisting Gurak with the wood, or bringing the cargo into the building." so he would just give another mundane smile.

Abigail
Abigail nodded when Pandora said for them to pack "Okay! I can do that! I wonder what we will need? oh my, there is so many things I could take! I could take mister snuggles! and sir fluffy! or or or! I could take Princess squishy! So many things I could take! This is going to be a tough choice." Abigail exclaimed while skipping to her and Charlotte's room, her tone shifted multiple times from excitement and thrill to contemplating aloud. While speaking though, Abigail wasn't aware that Pandora had fled to her own room, not hearing a single word she said. Abigail opened the door to her and Charlotte's room "Charlotte!" Abigail cheered, before sighing and sniffling "I-I don't know what plush to take! And I don't want any of them to feel left out! And they could all make good asset's to our team! I know Princess Squishy really wants to come and will complain if we don't take her! But Mister Snuggles will get sad if we leave him out! What do I do! And what umbrella should I take? Adorable doggy or super cute kitten?! I'm so confused and there is so much pressure!" Abigail spoke quickly, she rubbed her eyes then she picked up both the plush toys mentioned. She stood next to her umbrellas and looked at her sister with puppy dog eyes, waiting for her sisters wisdom on the matter.

  • Collecting one`s armor, shaking it clear of sand and then attempting to carry it all back to one's room was a VERY slow process as Oden was soon figuring out, realizing that it maybe wasn't the best idea to have quickly thrown off all of his armor in the sand as he did. Still though, he did his work in a silent annoyance, annoyed at Ryder, at the assassin man and his harem, and at the fact that despite his best efforts, the group had left. The ONLY positive that had come out of the morning so far was that they'd managed to get a little girl to the infirmary, and even then that was something they'd only barely managed to do. Besides that though, the morning had been mostly unproductive, and Oden could tell from the multiple loud gunshot noises inside that that didn't seem to be changing anytime soon.

"Maybe I'll just stay inside for the rest of the day and look at the journal, if nothing else it'd mean I could get some personal work done before the day was ove- *Oomph*!"

The young man's musing were quickly brought to a halt as he was taken off his feet by someone, and before he could even react he felt something begin to attempt to burrow into his chest while making some offer to visit their office. Oden was of course, bewildered at first once this happened, though once he noticed it was Ryder doing these things, this bewilderment was compounded on by a massive sense of embaressment as his cheeks went a deep red, "R-RYDER!" The young man shouted as he pushed off the Pactborn and stood up and began to dust himself off, "S-sir, you simply can't get like this, especially out here in public! Dear god I've never been this mortified in my life..." Oden buried his face in his hands and looked away from Ryder for a few moments before finally lifting his head and sighing before extending a hand to Ryder, though not once throughout this process did Oden meet the Pactborne's eyes, "Get up now Ryder, I should get you back to your office before you make anymore of a fool of yourself out here..."

Charlotte

Charlotte was excited about this quest. She was going to bring home the best prize this time! Who wouldn't love to have the head of a witch? And when she did have that head, she would be sure to slam dunk it right down Ryder's disgusting throat and watch him choke on his words!
She was in the middle of picking out an outfit when she heard Abigail complaining. "What is it Abi? I'm plotting here!" She grunted, throwing shoes around in order to search for some boots.

"Unless those plushies are going to be fighting then I don't really care."
That was when she noticed that Abigail was on the verge of tears. So she felt a little bad about that. "Uuuuuh, I think you should bring the dog one, so it can protect us better!" Charlotte gave her sister a quick reassuring smile, hoping that her suggestion was something she would like. "Now let's go. We have to meet up with Pandora." She said as she collected her stuff and moved to the door.

Equipment-
1 metal stick
10 needles
1 rain cloak
Food
2 cupcakes(that she is hiding from Abigail)
A dagger

Zane O'Conner
Zane was caught completely off guard when Isla downed her meal in a haste. Isla may look like just another delicate pretty girl, but she's a beast when she becomes hungry. As Zane was picky about his food, Isla was very grateful. Zane had standards even when he's starving. He won't just up and eat an animals heart. Soon Gurak returned, carrying Zane's bread and more meat. "Thank you Gurak, you've been nothing but help." He said sincerely. Zane then takes the bread and makes him a nice delicious sammich, and just like Isla did; he quickly devoured his meal. "Wow mate that was better than that burnt shit you tried to feed me earlier. Also Uh you need MORE firewood, after all I brought back?" Zane questioned.

Entering her room, Natalia changed from a revealing attire to a more armored attired. She dawned her white tunic and armor and grabbed her sword and shield; placing both on her back. After changing she left and leapt from the top of the stairs to the bottom, where she landed gracefully with no issue. With intentions to check up on Jayn and Maria she made her way down towards the infirmary, but along the way she looks over towards Alister for a short moment glaring. She planned to 'talk' to him later, after she checks on Maria and Jayn. Entering the infirmary, she immediately scanned the room for both Jayn and Maria. It didn't take her long for her to find Maria, simply because she was main voice she heard. A voice that Natalia might soon dislike. "Maria you seem to be feeling okay. How long did Serena say you have to stay bedridden??" She asked with concern crossing her arms. Lotusy Lotusy DVationz DVationz TheImmortalDeity TheImmortalDeity

Abigail's eyes lit up when Charlotte said to bring the dog plush, she gently put down the plushes she was holding and crawled into her bed to get her dog that's next to her pillow. "You mean lord Woofles the third?" Abigail questioned, examining her the toy to see if it could do the job. "Good idea! Lord Woofles has never been on a mission before! well actually I have only had him for about 7 hours...but what a great choice in both plush toys and friends! He would be delighted to go along with us! And I'm sure he will protect us well!" Abigail cheerfully said before leaping out of the bed holding onto her toy, she turned towards her sister. "Isn't he cute?! I cant wait to go on this quest!" Abigail exclaimed, following her sister.
