Fantasy The Lost Treasure of Creation

Vikishvok watched Kokoro curiously for few moments as she sipped at her water. He noticed she was a tiger enkidu and she was highly embarrassed by the situation. "Are you okay miss Kokoro? Also it isn't wise to drink a lot in public being a beautiful young lady like yourself." He spoke kindly with a smile. He tried to make eye contact with her as he spoke out of habit. He was surprised at his own sudden interest in the girl but then again he spent the last fifteen years by himself in his cave for eighty percent of the time so he passed it off a possible bout of lust and decided to ignore it. "Also care to tell me about yourself some miss? I would like some details on the lady I just kept from falling over." he said in polite tone trying not to sound like he was blaming her for anything.

Ireth followed them and paused seeing the guards and commotion. She waited for Gier to make a distraction before moving past them and then heard Kier's mention of the blood. She nodded in agreement and saw them head to an alleyway she tried to be as quiet as she could with the scythe. As an elf she was already light on her feet and quiet. She looked at the dragon unsure about him but figured it would be good to have some help especially if they came across Lyla.

Evaryle Avelis

Location: Ocean City - Slums

With: Arya, Ireth(Lyla), & Raiguen / Near: ???

Evaryle sat down in an area and pulled out a piece of wood and a hunting knife. He then began scraping the wood off little by little in certain patterns. While he was in the middle of his task, some children came up to him with little carved wooden figures. He praised them and gave some criticism about what they had to do to improve their figures. Some were i the shape of animals, others were in the shape of trees, and others showed some creative design. They were all block though, as if the children had just cut off pieces of wood until it formed a figure. Evaryle then turned his head to the girl who had glared at him when he mentioned the human ranking system. She was carving as well, but she showed much patience in her work. So much so that she had created a near perfect replica of a bird figure sitting beside her.

"Look at Nela over there, she's already mastered these simple wood craftings," Evaryle said as he pointed to the lonely blonde girl in the corner. She glared at Evaryle even worse than last time. Evaryle sighed and decided not to bother her anymore until he noticed a certain boy walk through the door. "What's wrong Nela? I thought I'd praise you, you don't have to glare at me like that."

"Shut it, I don't want to talk today," Nela said as she began scraping a little more vigorously than before. Evaryle grinned impishly and laid back in a comfortable position with a grin on his face.

"Aaaawwww...." Evarye cooed mockingly. This made Nela stop frozen as she steeled herself for what was coming. "Is this about your bad day? Did the little girl get shunned again because of her lineage? I'm surprised the people in the wealthier districts didn't beat you for protecting the little half dragon girl who had wandered too far from here. Then again...they didn't treat you nicely and the people here are scared of you."

"Shut up you..." Nela growled dangerously. "Not another word or else!"

"How noble of you to defend-" Evaryle began before Nela threw the knife an inch away from his face and stood up with her face beat red from anger.

"Just because you're my elder and our caretaker doesn't mean you get to push us around!" She shouted at a grinning Evaryle who hadn't flinched from the knife while all the other children scurried behind something. Evaryle continued to grin and pointed behind Nela. Nela turned around and froze in shock, stiff with fright as she looked at a half-elf who was staring at her with a curious expression. He resembled the little boy by the door. Nela quickly turned beat red and stomped off to another room.

"Hey, Nela! Where are you going?" The boy asked as he tried to stop the girl. He seemed to be about 16 and then looked at Evaryle. "Why are you such an imp?"

"She's the one who got upset at me, but you're another story. I wonder why she ran away from you, Avel," Evaryle said to the half-elf boy who then quickly walked in the same direction as Nela. After he was gone, Evaryle let out a laugh of joy and said, "Those two never get old! I seriously wonder why they don't see it!"

Kokoro Himura

Location: Ocean City - Inn Not Near the Hospital

With: Vikishvok

Kokoro choked a little bit on her water. Did he just call me beautiful? She thought as she coughed, setting her glass of water down once she could breathe again. Then her tail bristled a bit as the rest of his sentence processed. Shouldn't drink a lot in public? I only had one drink! What, does he think I can't take care of myself? She thought, a little annoyed, before she calmed herself. No, that's probably not what he meant...she took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a moment. When she opened them, it seemed as though she had composed herself.

Looking over at Vikishvok, the tiger enkidu regarded him carefully. He looked friendly enough, she supposed. He looked like some kind of dragon, with his softly glowing eyes. The tigress briefly wondered what kind of dragon he was. She started to blush again at the mention of her nearly falling over, though it wasn't as much of a blush as before. "Sorry about that, I was lost in thought and leaned back too far in my chair," she explained, looking down and biting her lip. She should really stop leaning back in chairs, it was a bad habit that had backfired on her a few times. "...Thank you for catching me, though. Really I should be the one buying you soup to thank you, not the other way around," she gave him an apologetic look. She then realized that he had asked her to tell him about herself, but what was she supposed to say to that? "Oh, um...what is it you would like to know?" She asked, looking up again to meet his gaze. Her face was still pink from her earlier embarrassment, but her ears were slowly becoming less flat against her head as she sat with the dragon. Well, at least she didn't sound so flustered anymore.

Ireth's shadow was about to speak when she noticed the children. She just stood there and stared at the scene before her. She wished for her true self to be revealed he seemed maniacal to her. When the situation calmed she looked at him with a raised brow."so you're a caretaker of all these children who are hybrid's of some sort?" She asked curiously.

Keir Sullivan

Following the teal haired dragon's lead, Keir slipped into the shadows of the alleyway, marveling that the large dragon was able to do so. He couldn't help but wonder if they had a similar history. After all, the dragon had reacted earlier as if he knew the common tricks of thieves, and didn't seem to care much about the failed thievery attempt. Smirking to himself, Keir continued following the damp trail on the ground. It was remarkably similar to his first encounter with Arya; he had followed her trail from a tavern then, too. Looking back, he noted that Ireth was also doing a decent job of staying out of sight, especially considering her injuries.

Eventually, the trail became less visible, as the blood had been replaced by water. Mud could still be seen, but it wasn't very noticeable. Keir relied mostly on his bare feet to keep following Arya's path. As he walked, he noticed the scenery around him change. The taller building were replaced by short, dilapidated hovels. The streets became increasingly dirty and covered with waste, as did the people, who could be seen in the windows and standing just outside of their doors. Dirty children played in the streets, some tossing mud and filth at each other. It was a rather forlorn sight, and reminded him too much of his own young life.

Keir kept his eyes down for the most part, remembering how bad he had felt when others gazed at him with pity when he was a child, and focused on the path. It took many strange twists and turns, indicating that at least one of the fugitives was familiar with the area and was trying hard to lose any tails. It wasn't difficult for those who knew Arya to follow it, however, and the group quickly arrived outside a building. The trail led up to the door, and a slight depression could be seen on the muddy ground, surrounded with feathers, possibly indicating the landing of the winged hybrid. "Do we knock?" He asked Ireth and the dragon, glancing back at the two. Then, with a shrug, he decided to do so anyways, rapping loudly on the door. "Hello? Arya? Are you there?" He called inside.

He simple chuckled at her words "Don't worry about it and plus what kind of man makes the woman pay the bill? Anyways as far as what would like to know is up to you. You can tell me of your past, hobbies, crushes, or thrilling stories. The decision is up to you though." Then the soup arrived at the table, he handed the waitress the payment before he continued speaking. "Though I guess it is a bit rude to ask you to tell me of yourself and not speak of myself. Please forgive me, I sometimes forget my manners. Anyways again my name is Vikishvok Silixiton, I enjoy forging items from small trinkets to weapons and armor, I love food especially baked sweets, and my home is in the Lava Pits." He suddenly stopped realizing he just started rambling off again. He frowned feeling bad "Sorry I tend to ramble on sometimes, so as I asked before tell me about yourself?" He gave a small but soft smile. Though he was beating himself up on the inside for telling so much about himself carelessly. As he awaited her response he had some of his soup which was very good. Hmmmm...... ima have to make note of this place and visit again sometime in the future, they make very good soup. He thought slightly having his thoughts distracted by the soup but he kept his ears open to properly listen to miss Kokoro.

Ireth tensed and moved away from the door "if Lyla is there don't tell her I am here... I can't fight her like this." She whispered nervously. She looked at Gier and figured it would be good to clue him in a little. "Lyla is a dark elf... And well she kinda wants to ruin my life." She told the tealed hair dragon.

Evaryle Avelis

Location: Ocean City - Slums

With: Arya, Ireth(Lyla), & Raiguen / Near: ???

Evaryle turned towards the elf who called herself Ireth and said, "Temporary caretaker. I'm helping them and teaching them several different ways to take care of themselves and each other. Nela is the one who brought me here. She was being treated unfairly by some noblemen's sons. I helped her out and she brought me here. She's been trying to take care of all these little children regardless of background. However, she's abut as capable as them. It also turns out that those boys that were picking on her were her half brothers."

One of the children, a pure blooded enkidu, walked up to Evaryle and shook his head at Evaryle and pointed towards the room Nela had ran off to. All the little enkidu boy said was, "Mr. Evaryle, is Big Sister Nela going to be alright?"

Evaryle sighed to let some frustration out and began to speak calmly. What he said to the little boy was, "She just had a rough day again. I just decided to play the villain for a moment. She should be alright, but I'm also upset with her. That's why I felt like getting on her nerves, and for some other reasons..." When Evaryle said "some other reasons" he gave off a mischievous grin. He then stood up and barricaded the door to the room Nela and Avel had gone into and grinned with satisfaction. He was going to leave those two alone in there until dinner was done. Just after he walked away, he heard Nela cursing Evaryle harshly from behind the door while trying to force it open. "Well, I think I'll leave those two to their own devices for a little bit. After all, I think they need it."

Many of the children gave Evaryle faces that seemed to look at him like he was stupid while some of the others who understood what he was saying giggled giddily. They then commented on Evaryle's actions which contained a few innuendos in them. Every comment he got just boosted his grin more. He then turned his attention to his guests and said, "You're always welcome here if you need a place to hide out for a bit. Raiguen is probably going to have a bounty among guards and civilians alike for a while since there's a dead man and a newly birthed cyclops walking about thanks to his ravens. We have no short of witnesses either. Only Ireth is safe because the situation was resolved before she entered. Thanks to the incident, even I'll have to lay low for a while because I was stupid enough to not cover my face."

In a moment, one of the children commented that the food was done and Evaryle walked over to the door and barricaded it. He moved out of the way quick enough to avoid several attacks from Nela who was red as a tomato when she got out, and not from anger alone. Evaryle served everyone wooden bowls of the stew he just cooked and took the first taste in front of everyone to show his guests that it was safe. After all, Arya seemed to be the suspicious type. "I'm glad that man's dead I was going to kill him, but I guess the opportunity to spill blood on my pure blooded hands is gone, sorry about that. Just try to hold out a little more next time," Evaryle said to Arya without moving his gaze as he sat down on an old barrel and began eating. This is why they had to hide out now, Evaryle didn't have the opportunity to be able to place the blame on himself. For that, these hybrids would be hunted. It wasn't the first time he had spilled blood for the sake of a random person before, especially not the first for a hybrid. However, he now felt like he had to do something. Even though he was a trickster who did what he pleased without regrets, he felt goaded by his mind to help these people now.

Back at the door, Evaryle heard a rapping and he walked over to answer it. He asked from behind the door,
"Who is this? And what is your business?" He kept his dominant hand hidden in his cloak next to his hunting knife just in case.

Keir Sullivan

Keir was glad to hear at least some response from behind the door, though the voice was unrecognizable to him. "My name is Keir Sullivan. I'm looking for a girl with blue hair called Arya," he replied. "I think she might be here, is she? I'm a friend of hers. Oh, there's also two other people with me. One I've never met before today, but he claims to be trying to help. The other is..." Keir trailed off, unsure what to say. If Lyla was in there, he couldn't mention that Ireth was with him. He decided just to be as vague as possible. "... another friend of mine," he finished. Keir mentally kicked himself for even mentioning a third person. Now, Lyla, if she was in there, was likely to look for this third person. He decided he'd have to try to expose her fast to distract her from Ireth. If it got violent, he hoped Geir would help; there was no way he could take the dark elf out on his own. "Also," he added, "is an elf woman calling herself Ireth in there?" If the answer was yes, he would be prepared.

Evaryle opened the door slightly with his scarf pulled up with his hood to conceal his identity. One hand was in his cloak and he had a serious glare about him. He was very suspicious after what just happened. He looked at Keir and his companions then he walked back into the house for a moment after saying, "Wait here." He walked over to Arya and asked, "Would you come to the door for a moment? Someone who knows you is here. I'd like to confirm if it's safe for them to enter."

Evaryle was now wondering why there were two "Ireths" this didn't bode well. Looks like he would be in for more problems for today, which was just brilliant. He already had more than enough problems. First he had Nela's incident, then he had the incident with Arya and Raiquen, and now he had this.

Kokoro Himura

Location: Ocean City - Inn Not Near the Hospital

With: Vikishvok

Kokoro looked slightly confused. Were women not supposed to pay for things? That wasn't really a thing in her tribe. Gender didn't really matter so much there, but then again, their culture was a lot different than a lot of places. The tigress decided that she shouldn't stress about it. She focused on eating her soup when it came, though she kept her ears turned towards the dragon as he spoke about himself. The soup was really delicious, she would have to thank the man again for buying it for her.

When the man was finished talking, the tigress set her spoon down and looked up, thinking for a moment of what she could tell him about herself. "Well, let's see...My name is Kokoro Himura. I come from an enkidu tribe within the Seheran Desert -- it really was wonderful there. Lots of sand, but we were right near an oasis, so it wasn't so bad. I lived there with my mother, father, and my younger brother and sister," Kokoro started, a small smile forming on her lips as she talked about her home. Despite her smile, her eyes looked sad, as she knew that the home she remembered was gone. She changed the subject to keep herself from crying again. "I enjoy swimming, hunting, and sparring...and making jewelry, though I haven't had the change to do that in a long time. Oh, and I don't like the cold," she finished.

The sad expression in her eyes had dulled a little, as she looked back up at the dragon. "So you are a blacksmith of sorts, then? What kinds of trinkets do you make?" she asked, smiling pleasantly before turning her attention back to her soup, picking up the spoon to eat again. Again, her ears were turned towards Vikis, to better focus on his response.

Geir Brandr Ignatius

Location: Ocean City - Slums

With: Keir, Ireth, Evaryle / Near: Raiquen, Ireth? (Lyla)

Geir continued along in the shadows, watching as the nicer buildings in the city degraded into the more familiar slums. He didn't bother averting his gaze from the people or children, but he didn't look at them any different than he did anyone else. He grinned at some kids playing in the mud -- he remembered doing that himself, when he was their age -- but other than that mostly kept his attention forward, not looking around too often. It seemed that the thief knew where he was going now, so he simply followed, but kept an eye out to make sure that they weren't being followed.

Eventually, the three had followed the trail all the way to a small building. It looked pretty abandoned, but Geir knew that was most likely where a lot of the street kids would be staying. At least, that's what they had done in his town growing up, though he supposed it could also be a place for smugglers or worse people...After all, if the girl they were looking for was friends with a thief, Geir supposed she could be in with a darker sort of crowd as well. This thief didn't seem like the type, though. He had only been following them for a short while, but the man seemed more concerned about his friends than any of the really rough types that Geir had known.

The dragon nodded at Ireth's information. "Dark elf, bad news, got it," he confirmed, then added, "Don't worry, we'll protect you, right, thief?" he grinned at Ireth as he rested his elbow on Keir's shoulder again, just as the man was introducing himself to the person on the other side of the door. He removed his arm again before the man could complain too much. He was a jerk, and liked teasing people, but he wasn't about to push the man over the edge while they were searching for his friend. As the door opened and a person covered with a scarf and a hood peered out at them, Geir simply grinned and waved, looking as relaxed as ever while he waited for Arya to come to the door.

Arya Tinuviel

Location: Ocean City - Slums

With/Near: Evaryle, Raiquen, Ireth? (actually Lyla), Ireth, Keir, Geir

Arya had mostly just been sitting in the corner, feeling utterly uncomfortable. There were too many people here. It didn't matter that a lot of them were hybrids like her, or that they were all pretty much children, it was still a lot to take in. And the elf, Evaryle, she wasn't sure what, exactly, to make of him. How long do I need to stay here? If I could just get to my things, I could just leave the city. I was ready to move on to the next place, anyways...Now that Ireth's here, I could have her get my things from the inn, and find Keir so we can head out...

Arya stayed lost in thought for a while, until one of the kids mentioned that food was finished. She looked up blankly while the elf took a bite of the stew, showing them all that it was safe. The girl supposed that she should be polite and at least have a small amount...although it was strange for her to accept food from a stranger like this. At the man's comments, though, Arya looked up at him. "I'm not glad that he's dead. You should not be so eager to spill blood on your hands, it is not something to take lightly," she commented as a knock was heard on the door. She stayed in her seat, thinking about the elf's words, as he went to the door. Hold out longer? No, she hadn't had that option. She had already been losing consciousness, and her windpipe had been half-crushed already. Holding out longer meant that she would have died.

Her attention was brought back to Evaryle, who had walked back over to her. Someone she knew? But how...water. The damned water that liked to trail her when she was on edge or nervous...which was most of the time around other people. The girl frowned, but stood and walked to the door with Evaryle, ready to identify the people at the other side of the door, or fight them if it was some sort of trap. As she approached the door, she opened it up a crack, then slightly wider as she saw Keir. "Keir," she started a greeting, then paused and looked up. Who was the man behind him? She didn't know him, but if he was with Keir... "Oh, my scythe," she started as she noticed the large weapon, then paused again as she saw who was carrying it. It was Ireth, but...Shit. Arya's eyes scanned the girl, focusing mostly on the area around her, checking her aura. It looked like her aura, except with almost no darkness to it...a lot like what Keir's had looked like back in the temple, when he had his shadow pulled from him. "...shit," Arya said flatly. She looked over to Evaryle. "We have a problem...inside the house. Get the children out," she told him quietly, so as not to alert the the other 'Ireth' inside.

"Wouldn't that be too suspicious? We could just lure her out and away. It wouldn't be that hard. Taking the children out so quickly would be flat out suspicious and would raise questions for the fake," Evaryle said calmly. He didn't understand why they had to panic so much now. The other Ireth hadn't even seen this situation yet. With this, they had the element of surprise. He hadn't done anything outwardly unusual when he dragged just Arya to the door. There were several things they could do. An ambush, a trap, or they could just kick the children out and go in headfirst. Unless this person they were trying to get already would know their motives from the start, anything sneaky would be impossible. Unless these people had morals against it, it should be reasonable.

Evaryle pulled out a vial and a blowgun dart. He carefully dipped the dart into the vial and loaded it into his blowgun. He then turned to everyone and said,
"This poison can render someone unconscious in five minutes, the moment it begins to take effect, it will lessen the victim's adrenaline flow. That will make it harder for them to fight effectively. I'll leave what we do to the person inside up to you."

Evaryle returned his blowgun to his belt and waited for their response. He wanted to do this as inconspicuously as possible. It would just get worse if they called attention to themselves. If he could poison the fake Ireth, he could let them do the rest of the work while she was weakened. There would be one problem though, how to get either fake Ireth or the children out and be able to get the dart in her.

Keir Sullivan

Keir considered the man's words. It was strange that the man immediately decided that the other Ireth was fake. There were many possible explanations for the appearance of two identical people, and Arya's slightly panicked words didn't help to point to any of them. It was improbable, suspicious even to him that the man had reached such a conclusion so quickly, but Keir didn't have time to worry about it. It was probably just a lucky guess. Then, he thought about the man's suggested course of action. A poison dart would seem to be an easy solution, but would it work? "I'm not sure if the dart will be effective," he told the hooded man. "I've seen her deal with a hallucinogen fairly easily in the past. What's to say she can't just shake this off? If she does, she'll probably have the upper hand. Also, even if she doesn't, I think I recall that her shadow operates separately, and will probably still attack even if she is incapacitated. I don't think there's really any way to easily swing this in our favor."

Keir stood and thought for a moment, unsure what to do. They would have to come up with something fast, or else Lyla would get suspicious. "Would it be worth it just to go ahead with evacuating the kids, even if it alerts her, and try to fight her in there?" He asked. "We'll draw too much attention if the fight occurs outside; it would be an especially large problem since the guards are looking for you. I'm also not sure if any sort of subtlety would work with her. A head-on attack might be our best option. What are your thoughts, Ireth? I'm sorry to bring this up, but you, ah, probably know her best." He turned to look at the elf woman, sure to keep his voice down when he said her name.

Pansa sat in a dark corner of a tavern sipping on a small glass of water. He nearly snorted when the waitress asked him if he needed a drink. He wasn't forbidden to drink under any circumstances but as a former mercenary he learned never to drink. It made one's tongue too loose and clouded your mind. It was a big liability and only thugs and vagabonds drank. Whether one endulged in alcohol was the trait that defined a person as a professional or a common a brute.

He took note of any interesting conversations and scribbled down any thing interesting he heard. He would follow up any interesting leads that led him closer to the Treasure. Even if he found a lesser known relic here, it would be worth hiding it from the wrong hands. He heard two drunken adventurers drunkenly talk about a temple dedicated to a goddess of old. He took a sip of his water and strained to hear what the drunken sods had found. Information was very valuable after all.

Raiquen Nguyen

Raiquen was beginning to wonder what was taking the others so long outside, so he had Berhtram slip outside through a small crack in the corner of the dilapidated building. The raven barely fit, but managed to get outside after a little effort. He made sure to do it quietly, so as not to alert the bad elf, and Merle eyed her carefully. As Berhtram hopped around to the front of the building, he squawked in surprise. There was another elf here, identical to the bad one inside. Moving closer to her, he noted that she felt like a normal elf. The only strong unease he was getting now came from a man who was obviously a dragon, which was to be expected. Their voices seemed to be hushed; they obviously found the other elf inside to be a problem. Raiquen, we were right! There is something off about "Ireth," and there's another one out here! They're identical. The one inside must not be the one Arya thought it was! Berhtram informed the two inside.

Would that make this one an evil twin? Raiquen wondered curiously. A doppelgänger? Or maybe just some sort of illusion? Hmm... Judging by the feeling you got from her, though, she can't mean well. I wonder if we're in any sort of danger...? No, the elf in here is probably after Arya. Why else would someone with so dark a presence impersonate someone who is obviously a trusted friend? I'm guessing Arya's already figured this out, though. Berhtram confirmed this assumption, noting that the blue haired woman sounded very serious. I suppose there's nothing we can do but wait for them to try something. I guess I'll stand up at least, just to be ready. Wouldn't want to get trampled if some sort of fight broke out, the winged boy decided. Spreading his wings slightly, he used them to push himself back to his feet, still leaning against the wall.

He listen to her words carefully and nodded quietly a she spoke and wondered why mentioning her family upset her. Normally family is a happy topic unless something had happened. "Well as far as trinkets go I only do them as special orders. Normally rings, necklaces, and bracelets are what people order. Though if you don't mind me asking, what happened with your family? bringing them up seemed to have made you sad?" he asked with a soft voice. He did not like the sad look on his new acquaintances face and he also didn't like conflict with family, it causes to much pain and no one should have to endure it.

@Rin Nyx

Ireth looked at them and gave a half smile to Arya "well I guess it's safe to say that Lyla has found you before I could... and she has my shadow." she shivered and looked very serious "She has the upper hand now. Even if she doesn't know that I am here." she sighed and leaned heavily on the Scythe feeling very weak. "I don't know Kier, she's too strong" she said shaking her head. "I was a fool to think I could defeat her." she added.

Meanwhile Lyla had an odd feeling and Ireth's shadow could sense it as well 'she's here...' was all it told her. Lyla sighed "so much for my fun." she said out loud her eyes staring at Raiquen and she grinned evilly. "Well then I should just have some more fun..." she said simply and walked into the other room knowing they would be distracted with forming a plan. Lyla grinned, she was in a house full of children and they were the easiest to manipulate because of how naive they were. Most wouldn't have darkness for her to appeal to but that would not matter for she would simply take their shadows and in a sense poison their minds. Evearyle was already a target by some so it should prove to be easy. This was tricky though because this would take most of her energy. Then she realized she wouldn't need to do this... "Take the children's shadows" she ordered Ireth's shadow as it stepped out of her forming into its own entity. Lyla was left returned to her normal appearance and she turned back to Raiquen and stepped towards him. "It would seem my disguise has been founded out... Yet, they are one the wrong side." she told him.

Raiquen Nguyen

Raiquen froze at "Ireth's" menacing words. More fun? That didn't sound good. She was an elf, who knew what magic power she could have, or what she could do to them? There were too many unprotected, weak children in here, too; this could quickly turn into a hostage situation, or something similar. Raiquen... Merle said nervously, she looks completely different now... Wait, no, is there another new elf? Where did she come from? They just sort of... divided. That can't be normal. Oh no, she's turning back towards you! Merle puffed out her feathers again, her terror evident. She couldn't deal with dark magic very well, especially when not backed up by others. The space was small, too, and would limit her maneuverability. Raiquen couldn't help but stiffen, too, as his companion's fear contagious. He quickly calmed himself, though.

"What... want," he asked the new dark elf who had spoken to him. "What... mean... on wrong side? Warn you... don't... toy with me. Despite... look... 'm adult. Don't... scare." He tried to make his voice sound brave and determined, though he wasn't sure how well it was conveyed through his mumbled speech. He attempted to spread his wings, but they were severely limited by the small size of the building. That could prove a problem, but Raiquen wasn't too worried. If necessary, the others were outside, and Berhtram could alert them. He didn't think it could be all that hard to take out two elves. Still, he pressed himself against the wall a little, trying hard to come up with a plan of action through his often sleepy, muddled thoughts.

Evaryle Avelis

Location: Ocean City - Slums

With: Arya, Ireth(Lyla), Keir, Ireth, & Raiquen / Near: ???

Evaryle sighed, but it was cut short quickly when he heard a random child in the house scream about a random person coming out of Ireth or Ireth turning into someone else. Within a moment's notice he rushed in with his sword drawn. He looked in a moment of terror to see a shadow by Lyla as she talked with Raiquen. He quickly recognized the shadow as Ireth's based on the information, her lack of a shadow, and the figure of the shadow. He cursed and took a moment to think about the fact that he personally was lower on magic than he wished to be for this situation. With the use of a few wind spells and the Shadow Mist spell, he could estimate that his magic had a fair fraction used up. However, his opponent didn't know this and she had likely seen the remains of his Shadow Mist when she found Arya.

"At least leave the children alone!" Evaryle stated with clear venom in his voice. He decided against using any shadow based magic for now, unless he wanted to test her abilities. Clearly, she was a user of dark manipulation. So he did a low level spell of using nearby shadows to create a clone identical to him in every way. He hadn't used any wind based magic in front of her so far, so he decided to keep that possible ace up his sleeve. Once he was finished weaving his clone, Evaryle and his clone said, "Now then, which one of us is real?"

He quickly ran around the room with his clone as they switched places constantly to the point that unless she could see through his spell there was going to be clear confusion because he and his clone were clearly mixed up, it would be a lucky guess if she found out. He took a mental look at his magic limit and realized that he would be right to use shadow magic unless he had to use wind. Even then, the spell he thought about using would be for emergencies only. However, he also had one last resort based solely on desperation to avoid a fight.

"Why are you doing this? If you have any demands, state them now!"

Lyla was about to answer Raiquen when Evaryle entered the room in a fury. The elf simply laughed at his drawn sword and glared slightly as he pulled out a clone and moved about the room asking her to play his game. "Ah, the children.... such young innocent minds..." she whispered and then looked up at him when he asked what she wanted. "Oh, that's simple... revenge." she stated calmly. She knew she was out numbered but with any luck the Shadow Ireth succeeded into turning some of the children. She then walked called over the shadow and looked at her and then back at Evaryle.

"I was nearly killed twice by my best friend, the first she used our friendship and trust to get close to me and then she stabbed me and left me for dead. The second time well she managed to stab me again... perhaps it was my mistake, however I have come for my revenge." she said simply. She knew she was outnumbered and although it was hard to tell the two apart she decided to make her guess. She walked over to the one she thought was real "you're the real one." she answered. "Do you know what happens to the owner of the shadow when its extracted and well damaged?" she whispered with a wicked grin. She then pulled out her jagged blade and stabbed the shadow Ireth in the chest. The shadow screamed as black blood spilled to the ground before the shadow melted into the ground and moved in a slow glob towards the real Ireth.

Ireth heard Lyla inside and pushed herself inside ready to face her again when she saw her shadow stabbed. Ireth screamed as well as she grabbed her chest and crumpled to the ground. No wound was made on her but it was as if she was dying. She clung to her chest and gasped for air.

"I wouldn't bother saving her, I'll never stop until she is dead." Lyla said cruelly. She then looked at Raiquen and gave him a wink before she called what shadows she had left to form a portal and was gone. Lyla appeared out into the middle of the city and looked around "What?!" she hissed and sighed "Used too much." she muttered knowing now she had to lay low until she could recuperate. Lyla took a deep breath and sluggishly walked into a tavern figuring she was safe for now. She walked up to the bar and sat down near two people who were conversing "I want your strongest." she said simply to the bartender. Her face though not glaring showed an expression of someone not to be trifled with for the moment.

Kokoro Himura

Location: Ocean City - Inn Not Near the Hospital

With: Vikishvok / Near: Lyla

The tigress's ears flattened against her head, and she set her spoon down gently, suddenly losing her appetite. The woman stared at the soup in the bowl, wondering how she would answer that question. She wasn't about to tell her life story to a person she had just met -- how would that go, anyway? 'My tribe was destroyed and conquered, my parents are dead, and my siblings are being held prisoner to the person who killed them in order to force me to marry him so what is left of my tribe will join him without more resistance. I convinced him to let me leave for a few months, just until our wedding day, at which point if I don't return, my brother and sister's lives will be forfeit and they will die, along with the rest of my tribe. Oh, but don't worry, I'm off searching for a treasure that I don't know for sure if it even exists in the hope that it will magically save my siblings!' No, that wouldn't be something that she could tell to a stranger. A tear rolled down Kokoro's cheek at her thoughts of her situation, but she quickly moved to cover it up, wiping it away.

"My tribe is gone now, along with my parents. It brings up very painful memories," Kokoro finally responded to the man. She said nothing about her siblings, as that would open up too much of her situation. Instead, she left it at that simple statement, hoping that Vikis would be satisfied with her answer. I really need a drink, she thought, looking up to see if she could spot the waitress. She managed to make eye contact with the woman across the room, and held up a finger to indicate one drink. The woman nodded her acknowledgement and continued about her business, finishing serving the people across the room before she went to go get Kokoro's drink. Please let me have it this time, the tigress chanted in her head, hoping that the dragon wouldn't attempt to send it away like the last one.

"Are you planning on staying in town for long?" Kokoro asked the dragon, attempting to change the subject once more. She kept her eyes downcast as she attempted to keep her tears from falling any more. As she waited for her drink and for the dragon's response, her ears swiveled in the direction of some nearby people talking in hushed tones. They were saying something about a forest with strange music, and lights that led people off of the forest path. That sounds interesting. It's as good a place as any to search, Kokoro decided. Her mentally recounting her story in her mind had reminded her of her original reason for coming down to the tavern/restaurant area of the inn she was staying at, as she had needed some place to continue her search. She decided, then, that she would leave for the forest the first thing in the morning.

((Hey Weeping, are you planning on having Lyla be more of an antagonistic character now instead of a boss (one that's played pretty much throughout the rp instead of just at encounters)? Cause if so then I'm just gonna copy/paste her CS to the characters tab and add her to the characters list and all))

((Since I'm posting for both Geir and Arya and don't wanna post the whole BBcode box thing each time I switch for just a few lines, I'm just doing color for this post xP Teal=Geir; Blue=Arya, you guys know where they are/who they're with haha))

Arya listened as the group debated their course of action. She didn't like this, she would rather just take her scythe and get it over with. Screw subtlety, she would end it right away. The girl was about to say something to that effect, when the sound of the child calling about the elf 'splitting' into two people alerted her. So, the dark elf had given up the disguise. Arya was silently cursing herself for not having seen through it sooner. If it had been any other time, some time when she was not so distracted, she would have seen through the elf's disguise rather quickly, but she had allowed herself to get careless in her panic...It was too late to stress about it now. The girl pushed her way back inside, ready to fight the dark elf, when she realized that Ireth still held onto her scythe. There wasn't enough water in the room to properly wield it to attack, either -- she had gotten lucky with the blood earlier, and if she were outside, she might even be able to extract some water from the ground, if there was any. Inside, however, the water would get blocked by the floorboards, making it too difficult for her to reach it. There was the stew, but stews tended to get so thick that there was very little actual liquid for the girl to control. Blood and drinks were one thing, but a thick stew like that was too different from the water that she controlled. If she wanted water from that, she would have to do a long process of extracting the liquid from the solid, which would take too much energy and too much time.

Realizing that she was basically useless in this fight, unless she attempted to go at Lyla in a hand-to-hand brawl, the hybrid was forced to let Evaryle handle the main confrontation with Lyla -- up until the dark elf stabbed Ireth's shadow, that is. At first, Arya wasn't sure why the elf would do so, until she saw Ireth crumple to the ground. Jumping to action now, the girl hurried to her companion's side, kneeling down next to her and placing her hand on the girl's shoulder, a faint blue light appearing from her hand as Arya attempted to search for some kind of wound to heal. She was focused on healing Ireth now, she was more concerned with saving her companion than stopping Lyla's escape. She hardly looked up as the dark elf left via magic, as the hybrid was too focused on trying to heal Ireth -- if there was anything to heal.

Geir looked the blue-haired girl over as he came to the door. I thought she'd look more intimidating, what with how that drunkard went on. Oh well, he thought to himself, listening in as the others talked about sneak attacks. It looked like that plan wouldn't work, however, as a child called an alarm from inside and the group had piled back into the house. Geir followed suit, drawing his broadsword and holding it in his right hand. Once inside the house, his bright eyes took in the scene before him. There was another Ireth, as well as a different elf, which must be the infamous 'Lyla' that he had been warned about. The other elf that had come to the door had a clone now, too, and was running around. There were kids around the house, several of which looked like hybrids, including one with large black wings and pointed ears that must have been the other one the drunk had gone on about. Geez, those guys got taken out by those two? They really must have had a lot to drink, the dragon thought, not really thinking much of the pair as of yet.

He returned his attention to the dark elf. He couldn't use his fire magic here, not without putting the house and everyone else in it in danger. He would rely on his sword, then. The dragon took a step towards the dark elf while she was distracted with the male elf, about to swing his sword at her, when she suddenly turned and stabbed one of the Ireths, likely the shadow due to the woman's words. Geir's eyes widened a bit in shock at the action, the shadow's 'melting', and the scream from the elf behind him. The blue haired hybrid was already taking care of the elf. Geir took the chance to swing his sword at Lyla, but was just a moment too late, as the elf managed to disappear through her portal just a fraction of a second before the broadsword swung through where she had been.
...Damn.

Sheathing his broadsword now that the threat was gone, Geir turned towards Ireth and the hybrid next to her. "Will she be okay?" he asked, concerned.

Arya glanced up at the question, then quickly back down to continue her focus on Ireth. "...I don't know," she replied simply.

Geir frowned at the girl's answer. At least an 'I don't know' was better than a 'no', but still, it had not been the answer he had hoped for. He took a look around the room. It looked like the children were safe, at least. He had come to find the hybrids to offer to help them escape the city -- he knew of a few hidden passageways in this particular city that they could use to escape without the guards noticing -- but he would wait to extend that offer until he knew whether or not the elf would be alright.

Keir started as the scream of a child could be heard from inside the house. Damn, did she find out that we were out here? He wondered. He quickly followed the male elf into the building, ready to help, but the man seemed to have it covered for the time being. Keir took the opportunity to look around. Two figures now stood in the center of the room, one Ireth's shadow, and the other Lyla. It seemed that the elf whose name he didn't know had copied himself, too. This was getting confusing; there were a lot of clones in the room. Children, some of which were hybrids, could be seen littered throughout the room. Keir was very surprised to see so many in one place, but didn't wonder about it for the time being. Against one wall stood a black haired boy with pointed ears and equally black wings, accompanied by a large raven with a white feathered breast. Another, who had been outside, moved over to join them. That hybrid must have been the other one mentioned by the drunk. It was a little surprising; the boy appeared small and relatively harmless. At the moment, he actually looked asleep, which was confusing to Keir. The boy was standing and actively responding, yet still obviously not awake. He decided to ask about it later, then turned to join the fight.

Keir realized that Lyla had been talking to the elf for the whole fight, possibly to buy time, but now had approached one of the clones. He began to move towards Lyla to attack, but stopped in his tracks at her question. He thought about it and paled, seeming to recall feeling the effects of a few injuries that he couldn't find on himself after Arya had battled his shadow. He had passed it off at the time, but... "No! Don't!" He exclaimed as Lyla turned on Ireth shadow, running it through with her dagger. Immediately, he could hear Ireth scream in pain, and charged at Lyla before she could do worse. She escaped through a portal before he could reach her, however, winking to the winged boy first. What was that about? Keir didn't have time to worry about it. After making sure that Lyla was gone, he turned back to see Arya starting to heal Ireth. Unsure what to do, he sat near the two, watching and hoping Ireth would be okay.

Raiquen was slightly surprised to hear the others burst in to the building. As they piled in, Berhtram rejoined them. You two okay? He asked. They confirmed that they hadn't been harmed yet, and decided to just watch as the battle went on. It sped by quickly, with Evaryle cloning himself to throw the dark elf off. Raiquen listened with interest to her words. She had been betrayed by her friend? It seemed that she said that in an attempt to induce sympathy, but, judging by the feeling the ravens got from her, there had probably been a good reason.

She's just stabbed "Ireth!" Merle cut in in surprise. Weren't they working together? Unless... Interesting! Doing so seems to have injured the other one. That looks painful. Arya seems really worried about it. The ravens watched as Arya ran over to the real Ireth and began trying to heal her, curious. Merle quickly turned her attention back to the dark elf, though, and narrowed her eyes, confused. She's doing that thing that humanoids do. You know, when they close just one eye? Yeah, she's doing that in your direction. I'm not really sure why.

I have no clue what action you're referring to. Closing one eye? Is it a sort of... threatening thing? I've never seen anyone do it... the Scientist certainly didn't do it, Raiquen replied. He considered it for a while, then shrugged. It probably wasn't important. After the dark elf left through some sort of portal, he moved over towards where the others were hanging around the new Ireth. "What... happened? Confused," he asked a man who was sitting on the ground. This was probably one of Arya's friends.

Keir looked up as the winged boy approached him. It took him a moment to figure out what the hybrid had said; his mumble was hard to make out. "What happened? Well... it's kind of a long story, but I'll try my best to explain, given what I know. Basically, the Ireth who was here earlier was actually an elf named Lyla using Ireth's shadow to disguise herself. I guess she separated from the shadow at some point, so that both were in the room. Then, she stabbed the shadow to damage the original Ireth," he summed up. "Do you get that, kid?"

"Yes," he replied. It was a little confusing, but then, that was magic. There was always some new, hard to understand type out there. "Also... not kid." This second statement was said in an annoyed tone of voice. He decided not to pursue it, however, and sat down next to the man, waiting to see what happened to Ireth.
