Fantasy The Lost Treasure of Creation

Ireth's shadow looked at the other elf glad to have another of her kind there "a hide out probably would be good at this point." she said looking at Arya and eyed Raquien slightly but wasn't about to address him either after all he could expose her especially with those ravens. No, Lyla had to make this work it would be the ultimate revenge to her enemy. She had to make it seem like Ireth betrayed Arya, but she was patient and she would wait for the most opportune moment.

Is he trying to say that Ireth isn't an elf? What? the hybrid thought for a moment, confused. She glanced over at the water being offered to her, but shook her head, refusing it. She didn't trust this man, even though he had helped them fight off the drunkards, and she wasn't about to trust the random drink that was offered her. He could be trying to drug her for some reason, or-- Arya didn't have time for all of her paranoid thoughts to run through her head, as the shouting of guards came from nearby. Of course, it came from the direction that she would have had to go to get back to the inn that she was staying at. She would have preferred to go there, where she could meet up with Keir and get her scythe, but that way was out of the question now. She was forced to trust this other elf, for the moment.

"Come on, let's go," she said quietly, looking at the puffed up ravens pointedly with a rare expression on her face -- this one said 'stay here to die, or trust the scary elf for now'. Her expression quickly returned to neutral as she moved to follow the male elf, ready to get away from this scene.

Evaryle Avelis

Location: Ocean City - Outside the Easternmost Tavern

With: Arya, Ireth, & Raiguen / Near: ???

( guess I took too long to post...)

Evaryle briskly walked them through a complicated route of alleyways to avoid the guards. Eventually, they ended up entering the slums. Evaryle had been here several times, while mostly to avoid guards. He then walked up to a seemingly unused house and rapped on the door three times. Eventually, a small voice came from the other side asking,
"When the wind blows, what does it carry?"

Evaryle took a moment and quickly answered, "Freedom." Once that word was spoken, a little boy of ten years opened the door. He was very elvish looking, but he was also very rough and human-like for one too. A clear hybrid to most people. He let them into the house and in an instant, Evaryle jumped up as a pile of kids landed where he used to be. They quickly looked around then up to see him hanging from a beam.

"Hey! No fair!" a little girl shouted as she crawled out of the pile of kids. "Why do you have to be so fast?"

Evaryle grinned and swung over to a corner of the room and asked, "Are you sure it's not just you being obvious?" The little girl puffed her cheeks and turned her head to clearly state that she was ignoring him. Evaryle laughed and pulled out the waterskin he had offered to Arya earlier and drank from it. Then he stopped drinking and said, "Did you not eat any of the food I brought back this morning?" All the children nodded and brought out various things ranging from meat to vegetables. "Well, just as I promised, you'll get to have a feast tonight because we have guests!"

The children looked at the group Evaryle had brought with and looked at them suspiciously for a moment. Then they went off to their normal business as if nothing had happened.

Raiquen Nguyen

Raiquen was more than a little annoyed that his warning had gone completely ignored. They all probably thought that he was "just a kid" and "making things up for attention." He followed them in the air as they walked, making sure to stay out of site in the low hanging clouds, but was fuming the whole time. He knew that he was in the right; the she-elf had made a point of not speaking to him. She obviously knew that he knew and was possibly a little worried about it. Raiquen would just have to be sure to keep an eye on her.

Raiquen, they're slowing down and have knocked on the door of a building, Berhtram reported. Sighing, Raiquen tried to shake off his anger and descended as quickly as he could. He landed with a thump behind the rest of the group, drawing a few eyes, but not too many. Moments after, the door swung open with a slight creak. Inside were four or five children who immediately tried to pile onto the elf. They're all hybrids! Berhtram cawed in amazement, noting their strange features.

Raiquen was shocked by this revelation.
What? How's that possible? There's usually, at most, one hybrid per city, and none in most small towns, but there are five here? The blue haired one just seems to be a traveller, but these obviously live here. I suppose they must have originated in other towns, then found their way to this safe haven that the elf seems to run. They're so lucky to have someone who cares... His final statement was said in a wistful tone as he recalled his own painful upbringing. He then stepped inside and sat on the ground, leaning against the wall to the right of the door. In that position, he probably looked more asleep than usual to other people. The ravens settled on either side of him, their eyes fixed on the she-elf.

Ireth's shadow looked at the children and smiled at their playful attempt to tackle the elf. She watched as they went back about their business and felt as though eyes were fixated on her. She looked around and realized it was the Ravens. It made her slightly unnerved. She wondered how they were so intuitive after all Lyla was an elf the same breed as Ireth so it really shouldn't raise a question unless these weren't ordinary birds.

The elf wasn't going to were worry about it as Arya would most likely believe her over these two, at least she hoped. Finally her attention went to Evaryle noting his features. She was trying to see what type of elf he was but realized she wasn't familiar. That's when it hit her a very true emotion that would plague both Lyla and Ireth. It had been years since they've had interactions with other elves. Perhaps it was because most didn't seem to leave their sanctuary. Why would they... Ireth wouldn't have left the woodlands if it hadn't been for war and well Lyla was a different story.

Keir Sullivan

Keir backed up quickly as the teal haired man, obviously a dragon, growled a warning at him. He was sure to leave the money on the ground where it was. "What? Why would I take anything?" He lied. "And why would you think I would? Do you suspect every clumsy person near you to be a thief? I just tripped, is all." He retreated out of the range of the broadsword, hands open and in front of him to prove that he had taken nothing. "I -" he cut off as he spotted a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye. "Excuse me a moment. I'll come back and explain my clumsiness to you later. Ireth!" Keir escaped to the other side of the room, glad to have an excuse to escape the dragon's glare. The elf looked to be in bad shape, and was slumped over on the table. "What happened to you? I've seen you beat up before, but never like this! Arya went looking for you and hasn't come back yet. I'm sure she can heal you when she eventually gets back. We're actually staying at this inn right now," he told Ireth. Looking over the elf, he noticed that her midsection was bandaged. Had she been attacked?

A man suddenly burst into the inn. He was badly beaten up and looked at least half drunk, and was panting heavily. The common room quieted as all eyes turned to him. "I- I was attacked by hybrids! My friends and I!" He claimed. "There was a boy with pointed ears and wings, a male elf, and a woman with blue hair and dull red eyes! The one with wings cut out the eye of one of my friends, and the blue haired woman killed another! She just... impaled him with spikes of blood! I already alerted the guards, but something has to be done about these monsters!" Keir straightened quickly and turned towards the man at the mention of a hybrid woman with blue hair. There was no doubt who that was. He marched up to the man and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, an action that would have been much more intimidating if Keir wasn't so much shorter.

"Are you sure you didn't start the fight? Maybe got too drunk and decided to pick on the minority?" Keir asked, knowing he would probably get himself in trouble by doing so.

"What does it matter? They're filthy hybrids and they injured my friends! Don't tell me you'd side with them?" The injured man replied, easily shaking Keir off. Glaring at the man, Keir retreated over to Ireth.

"Damnit, that must have been Arya! It seems that there's a good chance that she didn't start it, though the authorities won't take that into account. What do we do? She can't come back here, and she doesn't have her scythe with her! It's in her room in the inn! Having what sounds like an obvious hybrid with her won't help either..." Keir paced back and forth while the makings of a riot seemed to be appearing in the room. It probably wouldn't take the people long to be up in arms and helping the guards search out hybrids.

Ireth noticed a potential scrimmage about to occur and she thought she saw Kier. She didn't move to help though as she wasn't entirely sure until she heard him call her name. She sat up wincing slightly as he came over. She was relieved to hear that he was with Arya and that she was here and looking for her which meant Lyla hadn't found them. Before she could explain she heard a man come in and speak of an attack. She shook her head as she saw Kier threaten the man and now a riot was sure to strike. All they had to do was get out of the city.

Ireth stood up almost falling over catching herself into Kier she was still weak from the blood loss. "Kier listen to me... I was attacked by Lyla... She has my shadow and she's walking around like me!" She exclaimed rather loudly causing some eyes to rest on them. "We have to find Arya before Lyla does!" She exclaimed a lot more worried about her than a group of rioters.

Keir Sullivan

Keir's eyes widened as Ireth told him that Lyla was back in the picture. The situation was quickly going from bad to worse. He thought fast, trying to decide what to do. "Stay here for a second. I'll get our belongings and Arya's scythe, then be right back," he told the elf. Producing a set of lock picking tools, he raced up the stairs to their rooms on the second floor. Fortunately, they were across from each other. Keir first entered his room, grabbing his knife and his few belongings, which he hung at his side, then crossed the hall to Arya's room. It only took him a minute to pick the lock, then he was in. Fortunately, Arya's things were in obvious places, so he grabbed them and the scythe. "Woah, how the heck does she hold this thing?" He grumbled, struggling somewhat to carry the heavy weapon. Exiting the room and closing the door behind him, Keir returned to the common room.

"Okay. I think I got everything. Do you think you can walk?" He asked Ireth once he had made his way back over to her. "Oh! Maybe you can use Arya's scythe to support yourself? I think she did that when we were in the temple." He offered the long, heavy weapon to her, then began moving towards the door, pushing past the people who were beginning to head out in pursuit of the hybrids. Fortunately, they didn't really seem to care about him. He hadn't a clue where they should look, but they would have to start somewhere.

Pansa awoke in the hot springs alone. He assumed everyone had moved on ahead. He shrugged off the sleepiness and pulled on his clothes. He consulted his map and decided it was best to go meet his contact and grab some more supplies. He could use some more information on the the Treasure. He knew of a hidden Library but he first needed to get its location. He was sure it held all the knowledge he seeked.

(sorry for taking forever to reply. I spent the last few days falling asleep randomly because my insomnia decided to mess with me.)

Geir Brandr Ignatius

Location: Ocean City - Inn Not Near the Hospital

With: Vikis, Keir / Near: Ireth

Geir shook his head with a sigh as the thief scrambled away. The man should learn to choose better targets, particularly ones who weren't ex-thieves themselves, but Geir wasn't interested in turning the man in or anything of the sort. Picking up the bag of coins and the rest of the things that had fallen, the dragon replaced them on the table. "Now, where were w--" he cut his sentence short as a man burst through the doors, yelling about being attacked. He was concerned for only a moment, before the words out of the large man's mouth made him realize that it was just another racist bastard, trying to stir up trouble. The thief from earlier was yelling at him now, though he really wasn't very intimidating.

Geir pushed his chair back and stood up, his expression one of annoyance. "Look, there's enough coin in there to cover any costs of the new sword, I'll leave the broken one with you for reference. And I'll bring a stew and a whole basket of cinnamon buns and the like when I come to pick the sword up, you can just send word to the inn I'm staying at, it's the one by the hospital," he spoke to Vikis with a smile, though the smile didn't hide the annoyance that was clear on his face. He turned around now and walked towards the man in the center of the room, who was still attempting to rile up the folk in the inn. "Oh no, scary hybrids, how terrible," he stated flatly, sounding absolutely unconvincing, then asked, "Where were you attacked at?"

The man looked at the dragon who approached him, seemingly confused about whether or not the man was on his side. "N-near the tavern! The Giant's Flagon! We can't stand for this in our city, we need to hang those filthy--"

Geir nodded at the man's information, then drew his hand back and punched the man square in the face before he could say much more. "The man's just drunk, probably making up stories to get a rise out of the fine people in this establishment," the dragon announced to the room, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword now. "I suggest everyone calm down and let the city guards do their jobs, if there's anything for them to do, and it wasn't just some story made up for a dare," he spoke loudly, glaring at anyone trying to leave. He was fairly intimidating, and most of the people who were so eager to leave to go after the hybrids were less eager to do so now, settling back in their seats and returning to their business. Some people had already left on their witch hunt before he had settled everyone down, but at least it would take a little bit longer for a mob to grow.

Turning towards the door now, he walked towards it, and towards the thief who was leaving. "I hope you have a better eye for friends than you do for targets, failed thief," he stated as he came up behind the man, resting his arm on the shorter man's shoulder -- Geir figured he wouldn't like that too much, but he thought it was funny, as the man was the perfect height in comparison to him to do so -- as he added more quietly, "Let's go save your friend." It wasn't a question of whether or not he could come help, it sounded more authoritative, like it was simply a fact that he was going to help, and they were going to go now. The dragon glanced over at the thief's elf companion.

Vikishvok calmly observe the event involving the apparent thief. He simply smile and nodded at Geir's rquest as the dragon took off after thief who was leaving after the random drunk dude came in rambling on something about hybrids. Vikis didn't care about hybrids in the sense that they were a hybrid, to him they where just another living creature that could probably use his services. He straightened up the table and pocketed the gold. Then he picked up the broken sword and wrapped it back in the cloth. Sitting back down he called a waitress over to order some of their soup that seemed to be the special of the day.

Well then that was rather quick, though at least it paid well. Yiyiyiii he paid me to much though, but guess I cant complain work is work. I'll visit a nearby blacksmith to pick up some the other materials I'll need to craft the sword, but first ima sit back and relax for bit. He thought as he relaxed in his chair and waited on his soup.

Arya Tinuviel

Location: Ocean City - Easternmost Tavern

With: Evaryle, Raiquen, Ireth? (actually Lyla)

The blue haired girl stared blankly at the sight before her. There were kids. Lots of them. And at least one of them was a hybrid, probably more. This was not common, not at all. Did all of these kids trust the elf man? Maybe they were his kids... That would be a lot of children for one guy to have, the girl thought, rejecting the idea. That really wasn't very likely. These must be the kids who would be living on the streets, then.

Entering the safe-haven, it occurred to Arya that she really should thank the male elf for all of his help. She still wasn't sure why exactly he'd help them, and still wasn't very trusting of him, but the house full of kids with hybrids mixed in did help to put her mind at ease a little bit. "Thank you for your help. I'm sorry for the trouble," she spoke to the elf quietly, though she seemed to avoid meeting his gaze. Part of it was force of habit -- when she was in a town or city, or surrounded by many people, she tended to keep her eyes downcast so as not to bring attention to them -- but part of it was because she wasn't sure what sort of expression he would be wearing, and she was a bit intimidated to see it. Not that that intimidation showed in her expression, it was as neutral as ever, but inside, she was worried that he'd look at her with anger or annoyance at getting dragged into trouble, or maybe disgust at what she was, or at what she had done earlier, or, possibly the worst of all, pity. The look of pity was always the hardest one for her to see.

Instead of looking at the elf's expression, the hybrid girl looked down at the winged boy. He looked like he was asleep...of course, now that she was thinking about it, he hadn't really looked very awake before, either. Either way, the boy was bruised from the man beating him earlier. Kneeling down next to him, "I'm going to heal you, alright?" she murmured to the boy, though she figured he was asleep and probably wouldn't hear her. She set her hand on the boy's chest and began to channel her healing through the boy, silently dealing with the magnified pain in her own body while she healed him. This was nothing compared to the wounds she had had to heal the past two weeks.

Ireth looked at kier and took the scythe using it to prop herself up. She looked at Kier and then at Gier a bit unsure of this new companion. "It's doubtful she would need saving from guards... Come on Kier we've seen her in action. But if Lyla has gotten to her before me... She's going." Ireth began her breathing sharp and heavy she didn't wait for them to move as she tried to walk in a fast pace put into the street unsure of where to even start. She closed her eyes and tried to mentally find her but it was impossible as she held her head and cried out in pain falling to the floor. She looked up at Kier. She was very desperate to find Arya for fear of what Lyla would do.

With: Arya, Ireth, & Raiguen / Near: ???

"What are you afraid of?" Evaryle asked Arya as he looked at her nervous look to the ground. "Don't lower your head because I'm pure-blooded. I hate it when people do that, humans do it to each other all the time through their stupid ranking systems. Some of these children that aren't hybrids are a result of that."

One of the girls, about the age of fourteen looked up at Evaryle and narrowed her eyes slightly as if she had been pointed out. She then returned to her task which was carving some wood with a knife. Evaryle looked back, clearly noticing this action and sighed. He didn't want to bother that girl today, it wasn't a very good day for her. He then turned his attention to the dragon hybrid who had just thanked him, she clearly did not have a look of trust in her eyes, and probably why the door kid was staring at her suspiciously. He then turned his head to see several small children staring at him like they were expecting him to do something, then he looked at an old furnace which had fresh wood in it. He also took note of the ingredients scattered around by the counter.

Evaryle turned his head to his elf and hybrid guests and asked,
"If you'd like, I can make some food for everyone, you're free to join us if you want." He then walked over to the messy cooking area and went to work, he first asked one of the children for water and they came back quickly with a half enkidu half human child giving the report. Evaryle thanked them and began boiling the water. While he waited, he began chopping up various vegetables. He had some of the children help, but he seemed more concerned about instructing them rather than doing his part.

After a while, Evaryle had begun mixing rabbit meat and vegetables into the boiling water and walked away for a moment. He then walked up his guests and asked,
"I don't think we've been properly introduced. My name is Evaryle, what are yours?"

Keir Sullivan

Keir's reaction to Geir's placing his arm on his shoulder was exactly what one would expect; he was not happy about it. It was confusing to Keir that the other man would try to help, though. After all, they had only exchanged words once before, and it had only been because of an attempted theft. He didn't have time to worry about it much, though, as Ireth urged them to move on, reminding them of the direness of the situation. He shook off the dragon's hand and followed the elf out the door. For someone who looked so beat up, she was moving pretty fast. Keir had to pick up the pace a bit to catch up, but Ireth had stopped in her tracks and was holding her head. He winced, knowing that she was pushing herself too hard. He helped her to her feet again, then glanced around, unsure what to do. He tried to think it through out loud.

"Where do we start? There's no way she's still at the tavern, and she can't come back here yet, but... there's so many places she can be! If Lyra's already found her, who knows when she'll stab her in the back? Think, damnit, think!" He muttered to himself, pacing again. Guards continued running past. "A hybrid... where would a hybrid be more likely to blend in? The market area would have a lot of people... a good place for a thief to blend in, maybe, but too many eyes to be drawn to a hybrid. That's out. The general residential area for higher classes is too close to the stronghold, so it would be risky. That leaves... the slums, maybe? There are generally more hiding places in areas like that, shadier people, and fewer questions asked. Yes, that seems like a good area to search. Okay, let's head for the slums!" He said the last sentance more loudly so Ireth and the dragon could hear. Keir then turned and took off at a quick pace towards the slums.

Kokoro Himura

Location: Ocean City - Inn Not Near the Hospital

With: / Near: Vikishvok

Kokoro paced the room at the inn, her ears twitching at the sound of some sort of commotion downstairs. She ignored it, too stressed to bother with it right now. After managing to get out of the tomb alive (and being very disappointed that the treasure wasn't there), she had explored two other leads on her way to the city. Neither of them had wielded any better results. She was running out of precious time! The farther away she traveled in search of the treasure, the sooner she would have to give up on her quest to return to her fate. She only had three months and two weeks left. Less than that, since the road back would take her about two weeks of travel by ground from this city, alone.

What if I can't do this? What if I can't save them? I can't...no, I have to! I have to keep trying! The tiger girl bit her lip as she paced now, her eyes tearing up as she thought of how in the world she could possibly hope to save her brother and sister, to save what was left of her tribe, and to save herself. She was losing her hope, starting to give in to grief. But she couldn't give up here. She had to carry on, for her family.

Deciding that she desperately needed a drink, and hoping that she might be able to hear some rumors about places she could search, the orange-haired girl wiped her eyes and made her way downstairs, moving to sit down at a table near the corner -- the actual corner table was taken. It seems that, whatever commotion there had been here earlier, it had mostly calmed down for the time being, though there was a guy passed out in the middle of the floor, with what looked like the beginning of a black eye forming. Kokoro hardly paid attention to this, instead promptly ordering a drink from the waitress. While waiting for her drink, the girl rubbed at her eyes some more, trying to get rid of the rest of the tears there, though she was sure her eyes were still red. The tiger girl sniffled a little, her tail curling around her leg while she waited for her drink. Almost as soon as the beverage had been set down on the table, the girl grabbed it and chugged the alcoholic beverage, setting the mug down hard after it was done, then ordered another. Once the waitress had walked off again, Kokoro slumped down onto the table, holding her head in her hands. After a moment, she leaned back in her chair, looking up at the wooden ceiling above her. Maybe I should just give up. Find another way to save them. But what other way is there? All of the surrounding tribes have been conquered or destroyed. We had been the strongest there was...Who else can save them? she thought to herself. While she was distracted with these thoughts, she accidentally tipped her chair too far back, causing it -- and her -- to fall backwards, crashing into the corner table behind her, knocking the table over completely.

Arya continued working on healing the winged boy, still keeping her eyes down despite the elf's words. 'What are you afraid of?' the words echoed in the girl's mind. She was certain that her expression hadn't been one of fear -- her expression was rarely anything. Why was this elf asking her about fear? Because she lowered her eyes? If he thought it was for some sort of ranking system, as he was suggesting, he was definitely wrong. But... 'What are you afraid of?' the words echoed again, nagging. Disgust? Anger? Sort of, but no, she had lived with that her whole life. Pity. That was one that she had the hardest time seeing. Well, that, and...fear. Fear of her. She had just killed a man, not even half an hour ago. She was unable to move, had no weapons on her, and was at a huge disadvantage size-wise, and yet, she had still killed him. Easily, even. Killing the man didn't bother her -- no, she had done much worse in her lifetime, and it was either her or him -- but seeing how others reacted to it, that, that, was what she was afraid of.

Arya blinked. It had seemed that she had zoned out a bit. She moved her hand away from the winged boy, done with healing him. He should be good as new when he woke up (she still believed him to be fully unconscious). She looked up from her position on the ground as the male elf introduced himself as Evaryle. This time, she forced herself to meet the man's gaze, though her expression did not say anything about whether this was difficult for her or not. It was hardly noticeable, but the boiling water in the cooking area bubbled up more than usual before settling down to a normal boil again. "I am Arya," the blue haired hybrid replied. She would allow Ireth to make her own introduction, and she had no idea what the winged kid's name was.

Geir snickered a little bit at the thief's reaction to his arm. It wasn't an over the top reaction or anything, but it was enough to make the dragon laugh inwardly. He did love to tease others, after all. Geir followed the other two outside, listening curiously to their conversation. He didn't know who Lyla was, but apparently she was bad news, judging by the elf girl's desperate look in her eyes. At least the thief had some idea where to look for his friend. "Slums are well and good for hiding, but they stretch a wide span in the city. We should start by searching the areas closest to the Giant's Flagon. If we swing by the tavern where whatever all went down, I might be able to track them," Geir suggested off-handedly as he followed along.

Vikishvok had finished his soup and had set the cloth with the sword pieces next to him, he was thinking of heading off to the market to find some materials he would need for forging when all of the sudden a girl next to him fell backwards towards his table. Without thinking he stepped forward quickly and caught her before she hit the table. "Whoa easy there miss, you need to be careful, here have seat on the bench and cool off for a minute" he said worriedly as he set her down the bench that was against the back wall facing his table then he sat next to her. "You okay? you looking to well. Care to talk about over some soup? its really good, on me?" he offered generously. He normally doesn't go out of his way for strangers but he does favor being hospitable towards them if possible. "I'm Vikishvok by the way what might your name be miss?" He ask curiously as he orders two bowls of soup and tells the waitress to bring some water instead of alcohol for the lady.

Kokoro blinked, then her face immediately turned red once she realized that she was being held up by the man who's table she had just nearly crashed into, her furry ears flattening against her head with her embarrassment. Embarrassed and off-guard, she blinked again, as the next thing she knew the man had led her to sit on the nearby bench and was offering her soup. "Oh, ah, uh, t-thank you," the girl stammered out, referring to the man catching her, though she realized too late that it could have easily been taken as accepting the offer of soup. Kokoro felt bad, she hadn't meant to make this stranger buy food for her. Her ears flattened further, as far as they could go against her head, as her face turned an even brighter shade of red.

Wait, did he just tell the waitress not to bring me my drink? the tiger girl realized too late, as the waitress was walking away already. Damn it, no! My drink... she thought with disappointment, bright blue eyes sadly watching the woman walk away. Kokoro wasn't drunk yet (she had only had one drink, and it hadn't even kicked in yet since she chugged it so fast, she was just clumsy), but she had sure planned on being drunk by the end of the night. It looked like that wasn't going to happen.

The tiger woman's attention was brought back to the man who had caught her, realizing that he had introduced himself, and asked her what her name was. "Oh, um. My name is Kokoro," she replied, her tail curling around her leg. Normally she was more friendly when spoken to, but right now the woman was very embarrassed, and still distraught, though her current embarrassment was distracting her from some of her pitiful thoughts, at least.

The waitress returned to set a glass of water in front of Kokoro, mentioning that it would be just a little bit for the soup before she walked away again.

Kokoro eyed the water in front of her with disappointment. She had hoped that the woman would bring her her earlier order, anyway, but no such luck. The orange-haired woman let out a small sigh as she picked up the water, taking a small sip and only slightly using the glass as a way to hide her face, which was still clearly bright red.

Raiquen started a little at the blue haired hybrid's touch, but quickly calmed himself and sat up a bit, still appearing to be asleep. "Sure, just... do quick. Don't... like," he mumbled to her. The healing magic was relieving of course, though he couldn't feel the pain much, but his history with spells deterred him from it. He didn't like having any magic used on his body. After the woman finished, he slumped back again, beginning to chat with the ravens to pass the time. This is quite the situation we've gotten ourselves into, he noted. Certainly not how I thought this day would go. Oh well; it's to be expected when a hybrid wanders a large city. That's where many of the bigoted racists can be found. Coupled with the number of drunks, violence is pretty much sure to break out... He sighed slightly.

I just don't get you humanoid races. You cause each other so much trouble. Sure, ravens can get into fights a lot, but we don't have to deal with all your laws and strange beliefs about morality and ethics. Why do you guys care about those things? Berhtram replied, expressing the same sentiment that he expressed every time something like this happened. The ravens, although intelligent, just couldn't wrap their heads around humanoid morality and law.

I told you, they're supposed to help keep everyone in line. Supposedly, if there weren't laws and certain ways that we were taught to think morally, people would kill each other and "do bad things" constantly. It's just harder for you to understand since both the laws and ethics are against me. If I weren't a hybrid, you'd understand, Raiquen told them. As usual, they still didn't quite understand, but dropped it. Suddenly, he became aware that introductions were happening, and that the elf, Evaryle, had asked his name. "Raiquen," he replied simply. He also noticed that the smell of food had permeated the air. He wasn't sure if he would eat around the others or not, though. Eating was challenging for him, as he had least control of his hands and couldn't really hold things, and sometimes he had to resort to interesting methods. He decided to stay where he was.

Shadow Ireth smiled at Evaryle "I'm Ireth." She said simply and went to stand by Arya looking around at all the surroundings. "food sounds fantastic." She said smiled pleasantly. As much as she and Lyla hated being so pleasant she had to keep up appearances until the perfect moment when she would essentially betray Arya at the most inconvenient at times knowing the potential of bringing out the hybrid's worst in her. That would be her revenge. It would be far better than death and well she figured that Arya would kill Ireth anyways after a betrayal. It was the perfect solution, now it just took patience.

Ireth let Kier help her up and used the scythe for support. "I can't find her with my magic right now... I'm too weak." She sighed and looked at the two men "we should start where they had spoken she was... Good idea." She whispered.

In the sun where she stood there was no shadow to follow her. The elf looked at the ground and frowned she oddly missed her shadow her dark companion. she was surprised at how much it actually bothered her that it was gone and it somewhat pained her.

Keir Sullivan

Keir nodded at the dragon's suggestion. It had never even crossed his mind that it might be possible to track the Arya. He changed direction to head towards the tavern where Arya had been seen, still trying to move at a pace that Ireth would be able to keep up with. It wasn't very hard to find the tavern; one simply had to follow the flow of guards. Many people stood on the streets and watched as guards streamed past, curious to know what had happened. Most wouldn't give out any information, though, as they knew a mob was likely to start if they did. That could be destructive to the entire city.

Upon reaching the tavern, Keir tried hard to slip past the guards surrounding the scene. It wasn't much of a problem, as they didn't really care if anyone saw what was going on. They were just kind of in the way. After skillfully working his way past the guards, the first thing he noticed was blood. Lots of it. It was spread around in an odd way, too, suggesting that Arya's powers had moved it. She had definitely been here. A few black feathers also littered the scene; they must have been from the winged hybrid he had heard about. Glancing around quickly, Keir almost winced as he noticed something fairly obvious to someone looking for it. The blood had clearly been pulled in one direction, probably following Arya as she walked. A faint trail could be seen heading away from the scene. Backing up towards Ireth, he whispered, "Do you see that? The blood..."

Geir Brandr Ignatius

Location: Ocean City - Inn Not Near the Hospital

With: Keir, Ireth

Geir went along with the change in direction, glad that they at least listened to his advice. He inspected the two that he was accompanying as he walked. The thief was rather plain-looking and short. Both good things to be as a thief, really. The elf girl looked like she had been through a rough time. Geir was briefly reminded of Unila in the hospital, and a look of concern crossed his face for a moment, before he brought himself back to reality. Something about the elf seemed...off. Finally, it hit him. The girl had no shadow.

The teal-haired dragon stared at the girl for a moment with his glowing eyes, trying to figure out why she wouldn't have a shadow. Maybe she was an illusion, not really there? He had to check. Walking up next to her, he patted her on the shoulder. Nope, still solid, definitely not an illusion...probably. "Hey, we'll find your friend in no time, don't worry about it," the dragon told the elf girl with a smile, as if the reason for the pat was to comfort her, not just to check to see if she were solid. He moved on ahead quickly, before she could really say much about it.

Soon, they arrived at the scene of the murder. So, there definitely was an actual murder, the dragon thought to himself as he looked at the scene in front of him. Some of his vision was blocked by the guards, but Keir slipped through easily enough. In a dragon city or town, it would have been easy enough for Geir to slip in unnoticed, too, though here his hair was far too bright and he was too recognizable to be sneaky. If he were still a thief, he would have have a cloak or something to hide his features, but that life was far behind him now. Besides, the elf girl was carrying a giant scythe with her, that was pretty recognizable and difficult to sneak by people, too. Instead, Geir decided to go with a different approach. Putting on a panicked expression, he approached on of the guards. "Guards! I saw a blue haired girl running in that direction! She was covered in blood and was laughing about something, and it looked like she was trying to rob people!" he pointed in a direction away from where they would need to be going. Even if the guards didn't believe him, they would have to send a few of their people to check up on the report, and the chaos would be enough of a distraction to allow Ireth to get through without much of a problem.

Geir gave the guards a few more fake details, directing their attention away from the murder scene while slowly backing towards the scene himself. Eventually, he was behind the guards while they barked orders amongst themselves, and the dragon slipped back towards where Keir was, his feet dragging a little bit to cover up the direction of the blood trail. The guards might have already seen it, but they also might have missed it. Unfortunately, there was only so much that Geir could do to cover the trail. It was less obvious now, but still noticeable to better trackers. "Come on then, this way," the dragon muttered to the two he had tagged along with, slipping into the ally that the trail led to. He kept to the shadows so as not to allow any guards to follow him. The thief, he figured, would catch on quick and stick to the shadows as well, though he was a bit concerned about the elf. Not that she wasn't sneaky -- Geir had no idea if she were or not, normally -- but with that giant scythe that she needed to use as a support...well, hopefully she would figure out a way to move it quietly.
