Fantasy The Random Hotel

Sky was surprised by Ajax's lack of horror-filled reaction when she mentioned bloodlust. Oh well, his jobs probably hardened him up, thought he did seem pretty interested. When Sky heard about his homeland, she nodded. "I know of many lands that are similar to how this land was hundreds of years ago. This is the only one that the people stopped believing in magic and the sorts. Maybe I will visit this homeland of yours at some point, especially if adventuring is more normal there."

Sha'tana listened to Malcom, nodding her head every now and then. He was a cop... She stated to herself. Interesting... She continued to look at him with interest. Malcom begun asking questions, yet again, about herself and, particularly, about her career. She laughed, "Interrogating me again?" She paused for a moment then smirked, "I kid. I kid." Maybe not... she added mentally. "I am the head of the hotel and Gu is second in command, you can say." Now, she's talking about work. What she was enjoying the most was the break from it. Well, it was expected. He did mention that he had to snoop around her hotel. Who better to give him a inside scoop. "I ran into people with a similar history as me and together we created the hotel," she said vaguely, "All of them had regular jobs except me, so this is a free get-away zone for them, and its a bit of that and work for me." She dunked the back of her head in the water to soak her hair and sat right up again. "Mind you, my history is not a good one, and I wish not to share it... My friends, who helped build this hotel with me, visit every now and then. I live and work here."

Malcolm just listened and nodded just as Sha'tana had done just a moment ago. He then twitched slightly and said "Impressive for you to have build this up. I would take my hat of for it, but I am not wearing it now." Malcolm smiled and added "I understand if you don't want to share it. After all I am a stranger to you, and I want you to know i am grateful for your open nature. I am sorry to annoy you with my questions, but I hope you understand it is out of my own curiosity, not my clients interest I am displaying." Malcolm said looking her right in the eyes, his filled with assuring looks, his deep blue eyes almost burning, so deep were the color in them. He continued "When I am out of that room, I am Malcolm, not a puppet for some unknown power." He leaned a bit more back sighing deeply. "Sorry, but the work is taking it's toll on me Miss. I am sorry you had to hear that."

Ajax smiled and thought, My oh my, it would be nice to have a werecat beside me on a job. Finally, someone who would be able to keep up. Then he said," Well, I'll get this out of the way now. I'll admit that I read you all wrong, I took you for the Princess type. I never would have imagined that you were an adventurer at one time or another, and definitely didn't take you for the kind of person who wants to get back into this bloody racket again." He tapped his rapier's hilt rythmically after he finished talking,

Sha'tana eyed Malcom cautiously when he told her he was asking questions out of his own interests rather than his client's. "I find that rather hard to believe, Mr. McGregger," she said honestly. His eyes were strong. It was as if he was trying to say something with them. Sha'tana didn't get the message, but she did find his deep blue eye color amusing. She waved her hand at Malcom when he was apologizing, "No sorries, no sorries," she began to say, "Wait a minute..." She paused for a moment, "What are you sorry for?" He didn't say anything insulting or awkward or personal. Suddenly, Sha'tana was growing tired of her human form; it was beginning to prune under the water. She sat on the edge of the Jacuzzi rather than sitting within it. She decided to let her feet to continue to prune.

"Well I am just a bit annoyed that's all. It makes me a bit more, what do you say, depressed? Nah that's not the word, but something alike that. 78 hours with no sleep? Takes a toll on you." Malcolm smiled and reassured that all was fine beside his hard work. "But as I said I was decommissioned, now all I have left from the days in the department is that towel, my clothing and my sacks. They are like fading memories of a long forgotten past." He looked down into the water. "Just a shame that memories is what shapes us. Because some we could live without."

He were silent for a moment, then looked back at Sha'tana. "Aren't you going to actually sit IN the jacuzzi? I thought the person running this place would know how to use the facilities." Malcolm laughed a small laughter.

Sha'tana scoffed at Malcom, "I'm not in my..." She stopped in the midst of her speaking. Was she about to say she wasn't in her more comfortable form? Sha'tana couldn't imagine how'd he'd react to saying such a thing. Being curious as he is, driven by self interest or otherwise, he would have probably asked a lot of questions. Well, she has to finish the sentence somehow, "... in my zone either?" She mentally patted herself on the back. Good cover, good cover... she applauded herself. Even though, the statement sounded more like a question. Her pruning feet was becoming more irritable. She tucked her feet underneath her bum, "Warm is an awkward temperature for me. Hot or cold. No in between for me." This, surprisingly, was a true statement. Why didn't she think of saying that instead of retorting to her human and demon form differences?

Sky smiled. "I get that a lot. People tend to think I'm a delicate person who doesn't know how to hold her own and needs protecting. However, I always assure them that I can handle myself just fine. In fact, I bet most people that have done that couldn't beat me in any sort of duel. I'm actually quite good with most weapons, but I prefer daggers and swords."

Ajax scratched his face and considered challenging the girl to a duel, but reconsidered quickly after he realized that he would likely be thrown out of the hotel for such an act. He looked outside and saw the sun beginning to set, My, how time flies. Ajax spoke calmly, "Is that so? I'm a jack of all trades really. Rapiers, daggers, crossbows, bows and arrows, battle axes, magical items, poison,-" He cut himself off after realizing that the list is far too long and too boring to fix casually into a conversation. He began again, "So yeah, those and many more. I do a bit of everything I suppose."

"In... Your zone?" Malcolm said slowly with a puzzled look. He shrugged, and crackled his knuckles, something he did constantly, no matter the situation. It was a good crackling sensation.

Malcolm smiled to Sha'tana again and silently wished he had brought some whiskey along, and then he remembered. Out of the blue towel that was folded neatly beside him, he pulled out a small metal flask (A hip flask) which had two small metal glasses on top of it. "Never go anywhere without this little guy. Wan't a small drink?" He asked as if it was the most natural thing in the world to ask about.

She sat alongside the jacuzzi, feeling gravity pulling on the droplets of water on her skin. Her skin was drying slowly. Sha'tana looked at Malcom curiously, "Hmmm..." She arched her brow as he pulled out a metallic flask that had two glasses on top. "Did you plan to drink with me or you normally drink with strangers?" She laughed. It is not everyday she was offered a drink while in the jacuzzi. She normally just chats with her guest or even splash at them if she's feeling silly. That gave Sha'tana an idea. Catering service in the Jacuzzi room!! She thought when the light bulb went off in her head.

"I kind of figured that," Sky said. "You look like the type of guy who could be a one man army." She chuckled a little and continued. "Anyway, I don't want to seem rude, but I think I should get going. It's gotten quite late, so I should be heading to my room. We should talk more later. Then, you can tell me about all the weapons you can wield and I might be able to tell you some of the stories from my past line of work."

Ajax looked up at the girl, then felt his pouch of wealth to make sure it was all still there. He deduced that it was all and he threw a silver coin down on the table, "Keep the change, 17!" he yelled into the kitchen. He turned to Sky and said with a cocky grin, "Well, one man army is a bit strong, perhaps a one man platoon, but not an army. See you around then."

Sky pushed back her chair and stood up as well. "I guess your right, Mr. One-man-platoon. Saying army is quite excessive. So, thanks for the great time, and paying. It really was enjoyable hearing about your past. I guess I'll be seeing you later." She walked out of the restaurant and back to her room quickly. She pulled out a new piano book and sat down to play.

Malcolm poured up in one of the cups, and extended it towards Sha'tana. "Is that a yes? And to answer your question, I bring this guy anywhere i go, saved my life once you know? We are like two fish in a barrel me and this." He smiled, and turned it around, relieving a small patch where a bullet could have made its entrance. You could see that his arms as well was covered with both small and large scars running down the arm it self, though it was hidden due to it being underneath the arm.

He stood there, dumbfounded. Well, I thought that she was going to pay too... She's a cheeky one... He smacked the table with moderate ferocity. He stormed out of the restaurant and went over to the aerobics room so he could stay in shape for whenever he went home and to blow off some steam. On his way out he heard the soft playing of a piano in the distance. He could tell that it was far away, and that most humans wouldn't be able to hear it from where he was standing.
Seven rolled her eyes. "A Vessel. A human who shares a body with a demon. Gives the human immortality and whatever abilities their demon has. Ringing any bells?"
"Still not, although I've met much more strange things in the few days since I got to the hotel than in the rest of my life."

Sha'tana took the small cup of liquor and nodded slightly as if to thank him. Its sad how quickly humans could die... she frowned when Malcom mentioned how the flask saved his life. I can't imagine myself loving an other human... she remembered her first 'love.' It was more like an infatuation, but she was young then.

A human fell through the portal of her godforsaken planet just like several others throughout her life, but this particular human was different. He was strong and wore his scars like badges. She has never seen a warrior human. He had long hair, dark eyes. Sha'tana watched him obsessively from afar. This led to his death. Warden, a fellow demon from her clan, grew jealous of Sha'tana's obsession with this human and captured him for one of their human sacrificing rituals. Little did Warden know that this act triggered Sha'tana's escape from her planet.

She looked at Malcom as she remembered the first warrior she's ever seen. She swirled the liquor in her cup as she analyzed his scars. As strange as this might sound, Sha'tana wanted to see how Malcom would react in a chaotic situation. She took a sip from the drink, "Whatever this is... Its not my favorite." It needed blood.

Malcolm poured a glass for himself, and looked in it for a moment, then emptied the cups continent into his mouth, and swirled it around like it was mouthwash. A sound of refreshment escaped from Malcolm.

He studied her facial expressions, as she seemed to remember something pain full, something from a long time ago. It was obvious to the trained eye of Malcolm that something was wrong, and he wondered what it could be. When Sha'tana finally spoke Malcolm said "It's Scottish single malt, it's one of my favorite alcohols, though it is not near anyone's favorite. I just love the taste, it tastes of smoke, and fried malt, not to mention they somehow put in the taste of the highlands as well." Malcolm said "It's great when I feel down, or when I just need to be cheered up." Malcolm said with a hinting look towards Sha'tana.

Sha'tana gave Malcom back the drink he gave her, "You can have the rest of mine." Malcom did not look down. He just looked over-worked. Working too much never got Sha'tana down. She would just be plain old tired. A man who claimed to love her and disappeared two days later, that can bring any woman down or so Sha'tana thought. Her face cringed at the thought of Hex again. She needed a distraction. Sha'tana put her foot in the water and splashed at Malcom. Being playful was her best distraction. She laughed.

Malcolm covered his face, with his one free hand. Water and his eyes, were not a good thing together, especially not water with chlorine in it. It always hurt his eyes, and he did not know why. "It's a shame. It is some of the finest whiskey out there, but as I said it is not for anyone. I prefer it a bit harsh, i think its 67%" He smiled and emptied the other glass, doing the same procedure as before. "Nothing like the burning sensation of alcohol making its way to the system. But if this is not your cup of tea Miss, then what is?" he said curiously.

Sha'tana frowned when she didn't get much of a reaction from Malcom. She felt the sudden urge to apologize, "Eh, sorry... You didn't strike me as the non-splashing type." She twisted her mouth to the side. Deep in thought. What was her favorite drink? Blood. Anything mixed with blood is good for her. It was an old habit she couldn't get rid of. Blood was all the Blood Demon Clan would drink. "Would you believe me if I said blood," she was testing him at this point. She really wanted to get a reaction out of him. he obviously doesn't react to childish fun. She watched him. Making sure she caught the slightest twitch he may try to hide.

"Ah, no worries." Malcolm said to the frowning girl "Water and my eyes, it's just not a good combination, don't know why, and neither could you." He smiled a reassuring smile.

Then she decided to answer his question, and when Malcolm heard the word "Blood" he went silent for a second, then said jokingly "Well I am sorry, but I cannot offer you any blood, I've got only liquor." He smiled a light smile then said "But really, are you preferring blood? I mean, I have noticed odd things about you, and this place, so it doesn't really strike me as impossible, but do you actually enjoy drinking it?" Malcolm said, curious once more. He had leaned slightly forward, to show his interest was peeked, his eyes, red from the water, took in every detail, and his ears had sharpen. This was gonna be an interesting evening.

Of course... Sha'tana thought. Anything strange would spark his interest... She wasn't surprised at all by his reaction, but she decided to play with him a bit more. She smiled teasingly; lying to humans was a hobby of her's, "Yes, I love blood." She spoke in a sarcastic manner, "Did you know that my skin could turn red too?" She winked at him and stood up. She grew tired of sitting. "I'm getting hungry," she stated, "Would you like to see what I like to eat?" She wasn't kidding. She was going to eat raw steak in front of him if he was curious enough to accompany her. Her skin was mostly dry, but she dried the water that was left with her towel. She threw her towel into a basket full of other used towels then put back on her shear robe. Her back was facing Malcom when she tied a black, shear string around her waist.

Malcolm chuckles at her question, asking if he would want to see what she ate. "I would feel awkward if it was only you eating." He said with a semi-serious tone, then laughing at his statement. He then settled for a more serious, yet light tone "Perhaps we should eat dinner together then? I am getting pretty hungry myself, so it would be a convenient opportunity to get something to eat."

Malcolm slowly stood up, using a hand to press up his body. It looked slow and quite painful, but Malcolm did not say anything while in the motion of standing. He took his towel, a dark blue towel with the letters MMPEB embroidered in yellow letters. Once more he slumped his towel over his shoulders, covering most of his scared chest and back.

Ajax woke up frightened and speared his nightstand with a nearby dagger and then fell out of his bed and landed face first onto the floor. He rose from the ground neck first, as if there was a string attached to it. He groaned loudly and with a flurry of hand motions. He then went and took a shower and then put his usual swashbuckling attire along with his sack of coins, rapier, a string of pearls that he had tied into a bracelet, and some magical goodies in case things got a bit hairy again. For the first time that day, he glanced out the window and realized what an off time of day it was to wake up. He remembered that he had gone off to exercise and then didn't remember anything past that. He felt that his muscles felt a bit sore so he was fairly sure that he worked out, but no matter how hard he tried, couldn't remember anything past walking over to the exercise area. He dismissed it to his bad memory. He walked out of the door and then locked it behind him. He walked over to the reeption desk and threw two golden coins down on top of the table. He looked over at Gu and said calmly, "That should cover me for a while. Also, would you mind sending over a whole ton of leavees over to my room? It would make it feel more homey." He perked his ears and listened around for people. He heard some mumbling voices, but then decided that he didn't want to talk to people at that moment. He walked over to the TV room, sat on a nearby couch, then began to flip through the channels for some quality Mundy television.
