Fantasy The Random Hotel

Sky nodded and grinned back at him. "I know what you mean," she said. "And, yeah. They're kind of my thing. Like your rapier, I don't really go anywhere without them." She looked admiringly at his sword, which, as she had said, seemed to always be strapped at his side. "Is that really silver? And where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?"

Ajax pulled at his collar a bit then rubbed his reddened nose lightly. He said,"Why yes, Deary, it is full silver through and through, aside from the handle and the embroideries on the hilt." He then gave a disingenuous, widened smile and said with a bit of the rogue's charm in his eyes, "I acquired the sword from a royal a ways back. This sword was my reward for a job very well done."

Sky chugged the rest of her coffee and folded her hands in her lap. "That must have been some job," she said, her eyes fixed on the beauty of the weapon. "I bet it was difficult or, if not, at least amusing or fun in some way."
"... How did you do that?" Seven asked, completely taken aback by her glasses disappearing and reappearing intact in the girls hand. She snatched her shades and examined them, then quickly tucked them on. "Thanks, I guess."
"Well, it was a wish, sort of."

Casey studied the girl intently. "By the way, how did you set your hair on fire like that?"

Ezekiel watched as the others left. "Well... That was interesting.." Ezekiel for the time being watched Artemis after she had kissed his cheek.. "..Right.. Gu's middle name is Ti? Yeah right. I've been here long enough not to believe that." "Sshh... e's tricking you.." Ezekiel keeled over and threw up.. He carefully looked around, making sure nobody was there. "Frack you Baal." "But you need me to hold the barrier.. You would die... If you tried without..." Ezekiel finished the cigarette and walked towards the hotel, Probably going to intimidate Algor for alchol.. Ezekiel sighed. A white lie is a lie. Baal wasn't dead, course not. Ezekiel wouldn't be able to hold that ward all by himself. He is no god.. "You're just part of my new self-conscious. Figment of my imaginaton.." Ezekiel waited for a bit, luckily it seemed the demons soul had silenced itself. "I'll figure a way to recreate you... My way."
Ezekiel literally kicked the doors open and stepped inside. He stared deadeyed into Algor's. A stare that would kill, if Algor wasn't already dead. "Alright.." Ezekiel went over to Algor. "We can do this.. In two ways.. Either you give me booze.. Or you give me booze while I'm beating you within inches of your undead life." Ezekiels hands bursted into flames again as he grabbed Algor. "Also.. Gu's middle names Ti. I know Sha'tana probably set that up.. I know her too well that she would never give me free time in the bar... Which is why I want to tell you this now.. I am not in the mood for games.. Now be a nice bartender...And make a Adios Mother F**ker. Extra vodka." Ezekiel let go of Algor with one hand quickly drawing a rune on the counter, done with his rune Ezekiel let go of Algor completely, although he kept his death stare. Algor tried his best to avoid Ezekiels gaze and keeping his posture. As Algor mixed Ezekiels drink he discreetly pressed a button under the counter, a button that signalled Gu to get Sha'tana to the bar, shortly finishing the drink Algor handed it over to Ezekiel.
"Here you are, sir... Have... A nice day.."

Ezekiel grabbed the drink and moved towards the restaurant. "Huh.. So it's here you're all hiding? That's good.. Ge-" Ezekiel clutched his chest before regaining his posture. With a low mumble he swore. "A lesser one? Didn't we... Oh... Not now.. B." Ezekiel sighed and sat down at a random chair. "I'm going to turn you into a rabbit sooner rather than later.." Said Ezekiel quite out loud. "Now shut-up." He kept going.. Right until he took gulp of his drink. He placed it at the table and looked at the seated person in front of him. She was apparently lost in thoughts..

"Oi. You've been drinking lot's of coffee.. Something on your nerve lass?"
Artemis woke back up and headed down to meet Ezekiel. She had asked for lessons on sigils earlier, and she intended to see if he would give them. As she walked downstairs, she thought about how she thought of Ezekiel. She thought of him as another hunter, someone she fought with and behaved like a true hunter around. He was someone who she would like to go kill demons with, and to her, there was no higher way she could think of someone.

Malcolm looked at the girl seated beside him and gave her a a tired look. "Like you would not believe. I have been closed in my room for three days straight working on some project for my boss. And now, I am finally done, and I thought I would come down and socialize a little." He sighed and smiled a light smile. "Normally I would be drinking some harsh single malt, but one glass and I would just hit the boards, and not like my fine entrance into here."
Malcolm looked in his empty mug and placed it back down. "You don't seem to have had a good day yourself." Malcolm said, still looking into his mug.

Sha'tana looked at the man as he spoke, "Well, that explains your look. Socializing's good." She chuckled a bit, returning a smile. She was glad she was capable of smiling again. When the man acknowledged her bad mood, she flinched at the idea of displaying herself like this before her guests. She laughed dryly, "I didn't catch your name. I'm Sha'tana, you?" She tried changing the subject. Algor handed her coffee with a hint of blood, just the way she liked it. "Want an other? It'll be on me." Algor awaited Malcolm's response.

"Name's Malcolm, Malcolm McGreggor. Nice to meet you, Shatna, was it?" Malcolm asked with an excusing look on his face. "Oh and you don't have to pay for me, i don't pay for it anyway, my boss does." He said with a chuckle "Perk of the job he say, but i see it as a puny excuse for not paying me enough." Again he chuckled. It felt good with someone to talk with, after all, all the company he had gotten the last three days was the desk lamp and his mug. Not exactly the most talkative objects, so it was good to actually get some response for once.

"Sha'tana," she corrected, "There's a brief pause between Sha and tana." Sha'tana became curious when Malcom mentioned his boss again. Did he work along side creatures or unique beings like herself. "Did your boss directly send you here to this hotel? If so, I must know his name." His boss could be a previous client of her's. If she could get his boss' name, perhaps Gu might recognize it. It's not everyday she has people working at the hotel. Usually, people visit because they're lost, vacationing, or bored/curious.

Malcolm looked at her with a light smile. "To answer your questions, yes he did send me here to work on something important. He was very specific about it, but i can't tell you who he is, since I don't even know who he is. I just receive the letters and the paycheck. He usually call himself John Doe, which i doubt is his name." Malcolm waved over the bartender and asked for some stronger coffee, stating that the last cup was "A little bleak, but otherwise good."

"Hmmm..." Sha'tana said with interest, "I'm assuming your work is classified information as well." She sipped on her coffee. It seemed it was doing nothing to improve her energy. She looked at Malcom then Algor then at Malcom again. Picky man... she thought. "John Doe, cute name." She sighed and leaned back against chair. She whirled her head around trying to crack her neck, no luck. She usually does this when she's stressed. "Perhaps, a Jacuzzi would be better," she mumbled under her breath.

"Well you guessed right. But, i can say it's something that will change the world." Malcolm smiled and thanked Algor for the coffee and took a sip. "So what is your part in all of this? I mean I know you administrate this place, but is it something that you are taking care of for another, or is it like a family business? I am kinda curious as to that subject. The place has this feel to it you know? Something ancient and mystical, not just your typical "side-road-hotel" I can feel it. It's part of my job you see. I need to see things others don't." Malcolm said with a smile and drank some more of his coffe. "Just perfect." He said under his breath.

Ezekiel finished his drink. He sighed out loud. The girl was apparently lost in thoughts. Perhaps for the better, she seems slightly distressed.. Oh well.. Ezekiel slowly stood up. "Ay, if anyone needs me.. I'll be making my way to the steam baths.."

Ezekiel mumbled more or less to himself. Ezekiel cracked his back and walked away from the restaurant. "Time dawns... Prometheus was punished by the gods for giving the gift of knowledge to man, He was cast into the bowels of Terra and pecked by the birds.. You walk... His path.." Ezekiel staggered for a moment. "I've told you I won. Now shut up!" Cryptic messages was the least of his worries.

Ajax got comfortable in his chair by wiggling in his chair a bit and resting one land lightly on the table so he felt more balanced. He began calmly and somewhat enthusiastically,"Well, it wasn't a big job, in all truth. The client was pretty big though. He was the Duke of the land that I was in at that time and he had a small job that he was willing to pay big for, hoping that that meant it would be done right.. He heard reports of a large humanoid attacking his son's carriage and taking him hostage. The Duke gave me a little bag of silver and said that he would give me the best upon my return. After a few days I found the ravaged carriage and tracked the humanoid to its den in a nearby cave.It turned out to be an ogre, it also turned out that he single handedly mauled the Duke's son along with his driver and a guard. I found the vile creature asleep so I bega-." He stopped in the middle of a word, his entire body froze for a few moments as he realized that she didn't want to hear the gruesome details of how he dispatched the creature. He started up again after a light cough to clear his thought, "So I dispatched the creature as the job stated and headed home." I really Hope she doesn't ask any more questions about this, I did steal the rapier from the Ogre's pile of stolen loot, after all, and I'm fairly certain that it belonged to the son of that Duke.

Llocke walks in the front door...

Huh, this place looks pretty creepy...

He stands there for a moment, taking a look at the lobby.

Woah! Is that a talking dog? Looks like everything here is as much of a freak as me... I bet none of them are products of some creep's imagination, though...

His tone changes at the third sentence.

Well, I suppose I should check in...

Llocke walks up to the front desk.

Sky listened intently to the retelling of his job. When he said something about the ogre dispatching a boy, a driver, and a guard, she widened her eyes and smirked in approval of the fact that Ajax took that ogre down. Suddenly he cut of-and at the good part, too. Sky noticed that he froze and decided not to ask about it. "That's very interesting. In fact, if that's only one of your jobs, I bet your whole life has been interesting, hasn't it?"

"What do you mean by that?" She asked, raising a hand to her normally black locks. Instead she found her hair on fire. She sighed and the flames vanished. "I'm a Vessel."

He looked over at Sky and noticed that she actually seemed to enjoy his story, He grinned a bit at that fact. He spoke again, lightly swinging his feet above the floor, "I've had a pretty exciting life, you could say." He paused a moment and for the first time in a while realized that people look at what he did as "interesting" He pulled at his belt a little bit, rearranging the pouch on it which had something in it that was poking into him. He realized that he had been rambling on for a while, he said, "Enough about me, that is just how things are back where I'm from." He made a very exaggerated, fancy, waving hand gesture and said sarcastically,"Royals and what have you." He returned to his normal, relaxed state and said with a chuckle,"And you, do you have a story for those shoes of yours. Stolen from a Deity? Or purchased from a legendary merchant from your land?"

Sky tilted her head back and laughed. "These?" she asked and chuckled again. "No, these are just things I bought from a random store in the town I spend most of my time in." She pulled on a chain around her neck and held the key that was on the end of it. "However, I do have this. It is commonly known as a 'Skeleton Key' and can unlock pretty much anything. I got it cheap from some mysterious merchant who didn't know what it was."

Ajax scratched his face thinking about all of the time a key like that would save him when he was out on a job, but then decided against trying to obtain the key because he believed the best part of a job is wherever he would be challenged. He thought about what she had said about her average, beat up, torn shoes, and couldn't help but wonder why one would keep such a relatively useless item on their person when it is so common and seemingly useless. He pushed that thought away with a smile and said, "So, this stranger, he just sold an extraordinary item such as this for dirt cheap? I couldn't imagine why." He waved over Droid 17 and ordered a bloody hunk of steak called a "New York Strip", which is something that he has wanted to try for a while. Droid 17 assured him that his food would be ready shortly and hurried off.

From what Sha'tana heard, Mr. Malcom is undergoing some serious business that is, more than likely, related to her hotel. "Are you investigating me, Mr. McGreggor." She rubbed her temples achingly. First, a journalist... Now, a detective... She shakes her head tiresomely and took an other sip from her useless coffee.

"Yeah," Sky said. "I thought it was weird, too. However, I think he was just a regular human who didn't know any better. That, or he there's a curse on it and he just wanted to get rid of it." She laughed and called to the droid. "Hold on. Could I have a coke?" After the droid left, Sky turned back to Ajax. "Just kidding. I don't think he was someone who would know about it, but you never know." Droid 17 chose that moment to swoop in a drop a coke in front of Sky, which she grabbed and sipped lightly from.

First, a journalist... Now, a detective... She shakes her head tiresomely and took an other sip from her useless coffee.

"Well, not quite. You see i am currently assigned to just scout this area. Now, don't think it's to buy you out this place." Malcolm chuckled "We have interest in certain, phenomenon Miss Sha'tana." He took a sip of his coffee. "Frankly I cannot tell you any more. This is just what i was told to tell if you should ask about my presence. I hope i am not to big of a bother around here. I can assure you, I intend no harm to you, your guests nor your lovely little hotel." Malcolm said looking into her eyes, with understanding eyes, although they still had a glimt of authority over them.

Malcolm laughed a bit, raised his mug and said "To a wonderful evening, and hopefully a good connection between us." He smiled a bit and generally looked friendly with his pose and gesture.

Ajax tensed up a bit at the mention of a curse. He remembered an old friend who contracted Vapiricism, he recalled some of his last words to him with total clarity, Mate, this a curse... Nobody seems to care about me anymore, not me Mum, me Pop, me Wife... Ajax barely loosened up when she mentioned that it was a joke and stared her dead in the face. His steak came, and it was small, even for a person his size. Hee made the first cut and realized that it was grey in the middle. Trying to get his mindd off of the dissapointment that was going to be his meal he said, "Perhaps, could have been a Mundy that didn't realize its true value. Never, and I mean never, forget that he could have given you an item like that for so dirt cheap for his own sick pleasures. Who knows, it could be a charm, so that's why you wear it around your neck constantly, or an aura channeler, which would gradually erode your magical energy away." He took a bite into his steak and became visually sadder because of the meal, "Just keep in mind that many people are out there to use you, you may not realize it, but I know it to be true."

Sky stared in surprise and furrowed her eyebrows at Ajax. He seemed to get very defensive when she mentioned a curse. Maybe he has some past experiences with curses, she thought. "Hey, I'm sorry if that joke offended you," she said. "I wasn't thinking. Of course it could be a charm, a curse, or a hex, but I'm almost completely certain that there's nothing wrong with it. After all, I visited an old family friend who specializes in those kinds of things, and she confirmed that nothing was wrong with it." She watched him and waited for a reaction, oping she didn't ruin their conversation.

Ajax loosened up but was a bit embarrassed, "I'm not offended, Ma'am. The mention of a curse bring s back some unpleasant memories, is all." He polished off the last bite of his steak then said,"It's good to hear that that key of yours is safe to have with you." He leaned back in his chair, looking and feeling somewhat tired.

"It's okay," Sky replied, slightly flustered. "I know how you feel. I just didn't want to offend you in any way." Which is slightly abnormal for me. Actually, it's very abnormal. She drank some more of her coke and proceeded to twirl the ice around with her straw. Her eyes followed one piece for a while before she said, if just to keep the conversation going, "So, how are you liking your stay here?"
