Fantasy The Random Hotel

Ajax grinned sincerely and nodded at the girl's thoughtfulness. He then said warmly, "Thank you very much, and I'm liking my stay here. This is the only place that I can really relax. I am amongst the magical, mythical, and the mundane , so I enjoy the surroundings here as well." He fiddled around with the hilt of his rapier, twisting it left and right, hoping that Sky won't see it as threatening.

"Well, not quite. You see i am currently assigned to just scout this area. Now, don't think it's to buy you out this place." Malcolm chuckled "We have interest in certain, phenomenon Miss Sha'tana." He took a sip of his coffee. "Frankly I cannot tell you any more. This is just what i was told to tell if you should ask about my presence. I hope i am not to big of a bother around here. I can assure you, I intend no harm to you, your guests nor your lovely little hotel." Malcolm said looking into her eyes, with understanding eyes, although they still had a glimt of authority over them.
Malcolm laughed a bit, raised his mug and said "To a wonderful evening, and hopefully a good connection between us." He smiled a bit and generally looked friendly with his pose and gesture.

Sha'tana laughed along with Malcom when he finished saying, 'Now, don't think it's to buy you out this place.' That was the least of her concerns. It was practically impossible for someone to buy the place off of her; this was her home. "Do you mean like ghosts? You believe my place is haunted?" It was certainly not true. Sha'tana has a ghost who works for her and occasionally she'd get ghostly guest, but no hauntings. Thank gawd... she thought to herself. It seems this conversation has gone from casual to serious. Sha'tana straighten up in her seat, crossed her legs femininely, and gave Malcom a simple smile. She raised her mug lightly until their mugs clinked, "Indeed to a wonderful evening..." even though she wasn't feeling wonderful at all lately, "... did you perhaps bring a bathing suit?" Looking at the way he dressed, he didn't look like he brought much.

Malcolm looked at Sha'tana and smiled "Well I did bring a diving suit." He said and sipped a longer sip from his coffee, making a tense pause "And a pair of bathing pants. I can't go anywhere without them, they are quite precious to me. I may not look like it, but I used to be an elite swimmer back on campus." He said grinning, and chuckling over this obvious joke about the diving suit.

"Dare I ask why, you ask me such a question miss Sha'tana?" Malcolm said with a puzzled look. He had liven a bit up by this conversation, although his clothing still were one big mess, yet he somehow looked more living than before.

Sha'tana arched her brow when Malcom mentioned the diving suit, "A diving suit?" When he explained why he had such a particular item, she mouthed, 'ohhh.' She stood up by her chair, "I'm going to my room to get my bathing suit and we can continue talking in the Jacuzzi." She shrugged a bit, "That is if you want to." She gestured toward Algor to retrieve her half empty cup of coffee then looks back at Malcom, "I've been stressed lately." She explained, "I need some sort of relaxation."

Sky watched Ajax twirl the sword and felt slightly wary. Smiling, she said, "I know what you mean. I don't have to hide what I am or what I can do here, which is such a relief. It's different, just the way I like it." She thought for a second and added, "I also like seeing what others can do. It makes life very interesting."

Ajax looked at her and was just at a loss for words on what else he could say on this topic, so he said, "Very interesting indeed, have you done anything interesting lately? Cross any dimensional boundaries perhaps, or maybe you met the ancient creature that your ancestors looked upon as their God? " He realized the somewhat awkward way of asking his question and reiterated,"To be clear, what I meant to say was, 'do anything exciting lately?' "

"Not really," Sky said shrugging. "How about you? Any recent jobs or the likes that would peak any decent man's interest?" Sky was actually very eager to learn more about the types of jobs that Ajax does. When she was much younger she had done some things similar; she had been a bounty hunter/mercenary.

A bit surprised Malcolm answered "Well, it would be nice to relax a little on this working spree i have been on." He looked thoughtfully, as much as a man in his state could then said: "Alright, I will take up your offer." He said and finished his coffee and asked for the bill. When he got it he payed for his coffee and thanked Algor for the coffee and stuffed the bill in his pocket. "I guess i will see you at the spa then." Malcolm said and bowed his body slightly forward, and tipping down his brown fedora, then turned around and walked to his room fiddling with one of his sacks, pulling out a pair of dark green long bathing trousers, a towel, and a bag full of soap things. He walked out his door and placed a small device on the handle and left for the changing rooms.

[QUOTE="Cuddly Kraken]"What do you mean by that?" She asked, raising a hand to her normally black locks. Instead she found her hair on fire. She sighed and the flames vanished. "I'm a Vessel."

Seven rolled her eyes. "A Vessel. A human who shares a body with a demon. Gives the human immortality and whatever abilities their demon has. Ringing any bells?"

Sha'tana smiled as Malcom left. He seems like he's still working... She thought. She began to walk towards her room. She owned only one bathing suit and it was a black one-piece. Her style of clothing was anything but colorful. She only wore white, black, and everything between. She already stuck out a lot with her natural red skin. She never really thought much of her human skin. Sha'tana changed into her bathing suit. On top of it, she wore a shear black robe. After looking at herself in the mirror with a sigh, she exited her room with the flip-flop noise of her sandals. She passed by some of her guest and greeted them casually, "Hey, Casey. You guys enjoy your stay here, alright?" She gave Casey and the lady accompanying her a wink and continued toward the Jacuzzi past the reception area.

Malcolm emerged from the men's changing room. He now wore only the bathing trousers, and had slumped the towel around his upper body. He walked towards the jacuzzi and sat on the edge of it, only dipping his feet into it, and put the towel to his side reviling his scary back, several small round scars covered most of the lower part of the back, while a big linear scar was on his chest starting right beside his shoulder going down to his solar plexus.

A small pleasant sound emitted from him as he slowly slumped down into the jacuzzi

Ajax scratched his face and thought about something that he has done lately that would peak a 'decent man's' interest. Man, it's like all of the jobs I do end in me covered in gore. I can't imagine that that's the kind of thing she wants to hear about in detail... Ajax perked up and snapped his fingers, he said with delight,"I've got it." He took a second to compose himself and then said calmly, "Well, one of the memorable ones that have happened recently would be the one with the giants. There was a group of about five or so giants, y'know, big 'uns, they had to be at the smallest forty feet or so. The group was rumored to have stolen a prize winning pig, the owner wanted me to fetch it, for quite a hefty reward, may I add. So I got a large sack of rocks and a dagger and I headed in the direction that I was pointed in. I snuck around the giant's camp, past the bones of lesser men and animals, untill I found the pig in a flimsy wooden cage. I broke the weak bars with my bare hands and rode the pig right on out of there. One of the giants picked up on what I was doing and chased us down. He was fast, the fastest humanoid that I've ever seen run." He chuckled bit, realizing his favorite part was coming up and continued, "So I proceeded to pelt the beast with rock whilst on pigback for about twenty minutes or so until the giant realized that the pig wasn't worth another ten welts on his chest... When we returned, the rancher gave me a human effigy along with about a pound of silver coins. Also, it turned out that the reason they needed the pig back in such a hurry was that they were going to eat it that night. Turns out they were going to have the taxpayer over and the taxpayer's daughter so they could discuss a tax break for the rancher and his family. He invited me over for the meal and I accepted with pleasure. I remember that pork." Ajax was almost salivating at the mere thought of the juicy pork but then tensed up a bit, uncomfortable with the next fact in his story, he took a deep gulp and continued, "The daughter of the taxpayer took a real liking to me... She was about six feet and about two hundred pounds, if I were to guess. She had warts on her face and four large gaudy golden earrings in her left ear. She kept giving me this dreamy look from across the table. I tolerated it for the night so that I could have a good meal. When I was on my way out she said that I was, 'Tha' cutest lil' thang I ever did see!' She wanted to keep me, as a pet or something, I don't even know. So I ran off into the fort on the night on the night of a full moon. I figured I'd rather just get mauled then be taken captive by that.. th-that creature..." He finished off his drink, realizing that he really needed to get that final thought out of his mind.

Sha'tana couldn't help, but to ask Gu where was Hex. He only shrugged in response. It has been a week now since he has left. She felt lost, dizzy, and sad without him. All she can do now is enjoy the company of her guest. She sighed heavily before she entered the room where the Jacuzzi was. "How's the water?" She asked as she took off her robe and placed it on a nearby bench. She went over to the towel rack to get herself a towel.

Narissa placed her final cup of coffee empty on the table. Alrighty then, i have a date with the sea... She thought excitedly to herself thinking up the soft, but mighty waves that wash upon the shore they were quite the sight to see. "Shut up!" Narissa's head shot quickly to a girl with black hair and glasses. She seemed to be quite outraged to Narissa. Hmm maybe she has one of those ear things on her ear you used to talk to other people, or perhaps she is just crazy...Well i guess we are all crazy here so that would be quite right. Narissa turned her head away but kept her eye on the girl just in case anything happened she would know before it reached her. She clutched the glass of water the robot maid had dropped off while she was going coffee crazy. If anything happens i'll at least have this...She thought. She carefully slid out her wallet and left some cash on the table to pay for her coffee benign. Sliding her wallet back in her pocket she slid closer to the wall to wait a little bit. A gust of wind appeared out of freaking no where and knocked the girl that yelled earlier out of her chair. Well, maybe she isn't crazy...that's certainly nice to know. Casey appeared out of the whirlwind. Narissa Noticed that the girl's eyes seemed a bit...odd..They reminded her of the wildfires they would have back home. These fires would burn down whole forest and destroy whole villages alike. They were something to be feared. Narissa shivered in her seat at the remembrance. Note to self:This girl is not one to mess with. She clutched the glass of water even more then before feeling the pressure of the glass on her hand and the coolness of the water.
Narissa watched the girl with fire eyes. Not even caring about anything else or anyone one else for that matter. The girl seemed to have this glow. Her hair spontaneously caugh on fire the she growled at Casey. Narissa bended the water out of the glass into a sturdy water shield out around the booth. She looked back out to Casey and she seemed to not be phased by the girl. Such bravely ... She thought. She watched Casey pick up the girl's broken glasses and fix them. Narissa was speechless for the fixing of the glasses. It seemed impossible but she just fixed them...Right then and there. Narissa shrunk her shield to encase just her as she prepared to bolt out of there. She was really regretting her decision to stay right about now.

Sky listened intently as Ajax told his story. When he got to the part about pelting a giant while riding on the back of a pig, she laughed and leaned closer, eager to hear more. "What you do sounds fantastic!" she exclaimed once he was done. "It reminds me of what I used to do, a long time ago. In fact, it makes me almost miss it."

Ajax grinned a bit at Sky's excitement over his daily grind, but his grin dissipated once he realized that that was one of the few times that his stories would come off as light and humorous if told in their entirety. He was very slightly saddened by the fact that his jobs usually bring death. He perked up a bit at Sky's second statement and laughed, "Used to do a long time ago? You say that as if you are some kind of old hag! How long ago could it have been since you last embarked on a great adventure, you don't look a day over twenty, my dear girl. And if you really miss it, why not go back to it?" He grinned sinisterly, leaned in, and said in a low, rumbly voice, "Afraid of something?"

Malcolm turned slightly towards Sha'tana and with a relaxed voice said "If you ask me, it is just how it should be, warm and slightly bubbly." As he tuned back he sunk a little down into the water and a sound of pleasure just about escaped his lips. He seemed to enjoy this moment, after a hard days work, well three days of hard work really.

"Really? Warm?" Sha'tana touched the water, "Well, that's disappointing. I like my Jacuzzi boiling hot." She stepped into the Jacuzzi with a face that seemed to be pouting. Humans... she scoffed in her head. Can't handle the heat... she crossed her arms unhappily. Usually the Jacuzzi was the best option to relax. Now, it is apparently broken and she needs to get her robots to fix it. Work work work... Sha'tana sunk into the water. Well, at least he's enjoying himself... she thought with a faint smile after hearing him sigh heavenly, "Man, you're enjoying this." The satisfaction of her customers is utterly important to her despite her lack of satisfaction. She has poor luck with men and her hotel tends to find itself in chaos. Luckily, Mr. McGregger hasn't found himself in one of those chaotic situations.

Malcolm sat up as Sha'tana entered the water. "Well after a hefty amount of work, even a cup of hot coffee in my crotch would have been satisfying Miss Sha'tana." Malcolm chuckled. "Yet you seem all to worried, did I really scare you about buying this whole place?" A grin filled his face once more. He bend his neck side to side, letting his neck make crackling noises, his brown hair slightly swaying side to side.

Sha'tana laughed at Malcom's comment, "The only way someone is going to take my hotel is if they bring an army to conquer it and that still might not even work." Technically, that has occurred several times already and she still owns her hotel. She analyzed his body and all the marks on it. "Either you get rough during the job of investigating or you have a kinky fetish," she said chuckling a bit. Human companionship was exactly what Sha'tana needed. Well, companionship with any race would actually do the job. This helped her keep her mind off of Hex and the never ending issues within her hotel. Despite Gu's lack of responses, he handled the hotel fairly well when she's taking miniatures breaks such as now. Actually, his shadow handles the hotel better in more chaotic circumstances.

Malcolm chuckled at the comment "Well not exactly a fetish of mine, since you would have to enjoy it." He smiled a weak smile "I got them while i was, well lets just call it working. Part of the reason i no longer work for the police force anymore. I loved that job, but i ever since i got these, and the bullet holes in by back, they refused to let me work anymore. Strange right?" He still kept the weak smile. "As a result i could not walk, the spine was damaged beyond my paycheck, but in comes this John Doe and offers a new spine along employment. I gotta tell you, i thought it was a cruel joke at the time." Malcolm chuckled, it was good to actually lay off his more or less official and powerful stature.

"So you run this place, no? It's quite big for someone with your stature. Of course i don't now your mindset, but from what i have seen its a huge task. Do you do it all alone?" Malcolm asked trying to break away from his past.

"The last time I went on an adventure like that?" Sky thought for a little then said, "Probably between 50 and 100 years ago. Yeah, I'm older than I look. I stopped doing it because of a serious incident that left a - temporary - partner dead and the guy we were supposed to track down free to go. That, and I was so," she paused, hesitant to tell this part of the story. "bloodthirsty afterwards that no one would hire me for jobs. I built myself quite the reputation among old and potential clients that I just... quit." She looked down at her hands and twiddled her thumbs.

Ajax pondered what Sky had just said. He felt sorry that she lost a partner, but not too sorry. He thought that she was silly to develope a real relationship with whoever she was adventuring with. He became quite intrigued when she mentioned the word "Bloodthirsty" and how it prevented her from getting a job. Where he was from, it always seemed like the most bloodthirsty also had the best jobs, dungeoneering and what have you. He finally realized that the two of them had something in common, their bloodlust. Ajax knew better than anyone that one's thirst for blood could never be quenched, despite how repressed the urge to kill is. He began with newfound intrigue in his voice,"Well, if you ever want to get back into it, I know a fantastic place, my homeland. Over there, people are simpler and it's almost like they're living a few hundred years ago. Best of all, adventuring is a valid profession. It never died out like it seemed to have done so here." Ajax leaned up against the table, absolutely dying to hear what this ancient girl had to say. He didn't mention her age because he has had experience with women who are defensive about talking about their ages when they were forty, so he didn't want to go anywhere near the fact that she was a few hundred.

Sha'tana listened to Malcom, nodding her head every now and then. He was a cop... She stated to herself. Interesting... She continued to look at him with interest. Malcom begun asking questions, yet again, about herself and, particularly, about her career. She laughed, "Interrogating me again?" She paused for a moment then smirked, "I kid. I kid." Maybe not... she added mentally. "I am the head of the hotel and Gu is second in command, you can say." Now, she's talking about work. What she was enjoying the most was the break from it. Well, it was expected. He did mention that he had to snoop around her hotel. Who better to give him a inside scoop. "I ran into people with a similar history as me and together we created the hotel," she said vaguely, "All of them had regular jobs except me, so this is a free get-away zone for them, and its a bit of that and work for me." She dunked the back of her head in the water to soak her hair and sat right up again. "Mind you, my history is not a good one, and I wish not to share it... My friends, who helped build this hotel with me, visit every now and then. I live and work here."
