The dragon watched Lani as she fixed her hood as best she could, covering up her rabbit-like ears. At least he wouldn't have to worry about her being targeted now. He felt some relief that the girl had decided to go with them to get Unila help instead of waiting for her father, as that meant he could get her healed sooner rather than later. Scooping up both Ila and Lani in his large but gentle claws, Geir brought the girls up and gently set them on top of his head, where they should be able to hold on to his horns to keep from falling. Then, using a sharp claw to mark the ground, the dragon drew an arrow in the dirt so that Eihro would know that they had made it out of the mines, and in which direction they were headed. With that, he crouched, muscles tensing, before springing up into the air, wings flapping to lift them higher and higher. Once they were high enough, the dragon started flying towards the nearest city, as they would no doubt have a hospital with healers available there.
While he flew, the dragon thought about how Lani had attempted to go back into the mines, and how she had been crying after he had stopped her and the ground had finished collapsing into the cavern, blocking it off. "...You did everything right, you know. Without you, we'd have likely lost more, but sometimes, you can do everything right, and still lose people. You stopped her from killing against her will; I'm sure she'd thank you for that," he told the hybrid. He wondered how much the girl might hate him for not having grabbed the elf girl as they left, but he had made the decision that he thought was best, and was not going to linger on it now. It might seem insensitive, but it was what he had to do. This was not the first time he had to make decisions like that in his line of work, and it likely would not be the last; if he dwelt on every person lost, he would go insane.
Thoughts turning now back to Unila, Geir picked up the pace as he wondered how she was doing with her injuries. Hopefully his temporary fix had done its job. His own injuries were making it difficult to keep up a decent pace towards the city, but he continued to push himself, his end goal coming into sight as the city began to come into view from their position high in the air.
