Fandom RWBY Prequel: Pillars of Chaos (reboot)

Azurra pushed the mops of cerulean hair out of her face with a low groan before looking up at the ceiling with disdain, her left hand still ached lightly from the night before. She pulled it out from under the covers to check on the bandages wound tightly around her palm. After taking a moment to sulk about the way she had been overpowered by that Beowulf and needed Ochre to save her. Azurra slid out of bed listlessly, trying to rub the sleep out of her eyes with her good hand while she went over to have a shower.

After a short time Azurra stepped out of ORCA's room, dried, dressed and fully awake now. She headed down to the cafeteria quickly hoping there would a nice selection of fruit for breakfast, and was delighted to see the little kitchen bar had fresh cantaloupe and the biggest strawberries she had ever seen. She loaded up a plate with various fruits before stepping towards the tables with a wary eye out for Cinder, Azurra was the only girl left int he room when she woke up so she knew the girl was around but knowing her she would have hurried along to class. One thing Azurra had learned about Cinder was that she hated defying authority so instead she marched until she found an empty table and picked away at her breakfast quickly, Ochre had been behind a partition but she couldn't let herself show up later than him. Especially not after he saved her life, no, now she had something to prove.

After finishing up her meal Azurra got up and put her plate off with the rest of the dirty dishes nearby the kitchen bar when she noticed a girl watching her from the corner of the room, not exactly her but everyone here including her. She had a dark, pensive look about her that made Azurra wonder what kinds of thoughts she was toying with.

Azurra didn't like the idea of being scrutinized by some new kid so she made a point to step wide of the tables so she could pass her by on her way to class.

"Do you see something you like?" The blue-haired girl asked her new teammate, stopping a few feet shy of the girl. "I'm Azurra, from team ORCA.. you are?"

@Kiyoko Tomoe

Reimei "Shura" Shinohara

Watching as a blue-haired girl approached her, she immediately knew there were two possible reasons for the approach; the girl'd either noticed Reimei last night thus recognized a teammate, or noticed that Reimei was observing everybody. Though, as the girl spoke, she immediately knew it was because of watching her as there was no sign of recognizing her. However, Reimei did recognize the blue-haired girl, as she did get a good quick look at the features of her teammates when she'd gone to the room for the sole purpose of checking what kind of idiocy she'd be partnered up with. "More and more idiots every day..." Reimei mumbled with a sigh, before actually focusing her attention fully on the girl.

"My name...? Reimei, now leave me alone. I'm not in the mood for dealing with the idiots of this school who know naught about the world." Reimei stated bluntly, taking a drink from her alcohol-filled gourd. Walking away, the girl gave a wave goodbye to her teammate. Stopping after a few feet, however, she looked back in an uncaring method. "Oh yeah... Don't bother me when missions come around, either; I'll skewer you through the heart if you become too annoying, teammate." Returning to walking away, the girl took another drink from her gourd, teeth pulling out a paperclip in the process. With it unfolding and floating up beside her like a flying skewer, it flew over to a nearby table and plucked a few fruits off of random people's plates while nobody was looking at them, flying back over to her hand thus allowing her to eat the fruits save for a strawberry that she stuffed in the gourd to soak in her alcohol for a bit.

@Dendyne

Azurra couldn't quite make out what the new girl said under her breathe but her eyes narrowed as she assumed it to be some sort of insult.

"My name...? Reimei, now leave me alone. I'm not in the mood for dealing with the idiots of this school who know naught about the world." the blonde girl said without mincing words before taking a swig from a gourd that carried the distinct scent of booze on it and walking away a short distance.

"Oh yeah... Don't bother me when missions come around, either; I'll skewer you through the heart if you become too annoying, teammate" Reimei said flatly, not even a hint of emotion.

Azurra was absolutely flabbergasted by what she was hearing, she had tried to be nice to complete stranger and this little blonde shit had just thrown it back in her face!?

This was not going to stand.

"I guess it's true, the only smart blondes are golden retrievers.." Azurra said quite loudly even for the din of the cafeteria, she wanted to be sure Reimei heard that comment. She trotted over to the the girl ignoring the fruits that floated into her hand.

"And don't worry about missions, we don't bother with derelicts such as yourself anyway.. Well Ochre might," She said dripping with mock sweetness as she strutted by, not bothering to slow on her way to class.

She had tried to look calm and collected but she once she was away from the student body, Azurra slipped into a bathroom and smashed her fist into the first mirror she saw. Her already bandaged hand reopened from the impact and began to bleed all over again but she couldn't feel it for the trembling rage that took hold. Breathing heavily, she decided she needed to calm down a bit before class so she dropped her arm and hopped up onto the counter for a bit to collect herself.

(( I think this is going to be a fun team dynamic lol ))

Dust Mechanics: Azurra Eradus (@Dendyne ), Ochre Whitt (@Dream Killer ), Obsidian Rue (@Syrina ), Reimei "Shura" Shinohara (@Kiyoko Tomoe ), Afra Albatala, Thanh Do, Natsumi Abe, Lei Chao

Professor Palma, whose green clothing was embroidered with various types of Dust, stood at the front of the room and got the class's attention with a snap of her fingers - and a small but loud implosion of wind Dust. "Good to see you all here!" she said. "My name is Professor Palma. This class will mainly serve as a lab for you to play around with Dust in a structured environment. I'm sure you've spent plenty of time getting to know each other, so I won't waste time on introductions. Instead, I'd like to know which types of Dust you prefer to use, and why."

She handed out pieces of paper to all seven students. "Once you've finished, I'd like you to take out your Dust of choice, and meet me in the courtyard for lab. Once you get out there, prepare to use your Dust of choice... with nothing but your aura and bare hands."

Lei and Afra finished first, following Palma out to the courtyard, a concrete square surrounded by garden. The day was beautiful and sunny. Lei rubbed his horns. He couldn't wait to start something new.

Grimm Geography:
Lapis Lerazul (@Deltorian Nephran ), Midnight Lapis (@InvaderTennTallest ), Pascal Nuage (@GasMaskie ), Eminence Faustine Yowlumne (@Aryel ), Ambrose DeLuca (@Dendyne ), Genesis Laban, Delaney Duncan. Hazel Homura. Nila Nalini

The students gathered with most of Team HAND in Classroom 2, a nondescript room painted a light, cool blue. A few sculptures were displayed here and there, and was that... a potted Kurtz gnashing its teeth in a cage?

At the front of the room, by a chalkboard containing the scribbled general characteristics of Grimm, stood Professor Gorman, pistols holstered in his clothing, a relic of some old tradition. "Is everyone here? Well, never mind that; we're starting anyways. Grimm Geography is starting... now."

He pointed to the chalkboard, with a quick, sharp motion. "My name is Professor Gorman. And these things on the board, I would hope you've all learned in Sanctum. Grimm, attracted to negative emotion, dissolve into ash when exterminated, etcetera. Your opening assignment is to submit your answers to the following questions." He began to write on the board, underneath the Grimm characteristics:

  • What's its name?
  • What does its name allude to?
  • What does it look like? (Refer to normal animals if necessary.)

"Reviewing these is all we'll do for today..." he said flatly.

(OOC: Yes, you must make up a Grimm for this class. Cinder's doing Kurtz, and the NPCs are all doing canon Grimm.)

Lore and Fairy Tales: Cruor Rasui (@Cruor Flumine ), Ebony Raine (@Syrina ), Emerald Sustrai, Marlyn Black, Irving Smith, Xavier Pitambara

Professor Firebrick resisted the urge to open class like a race, with a gunshot, and instead cracked a book open, hard. "Hello. My name is Professor Firebrick. I hope you've prepared for this class." She put the book down. "The pre-arrival homework was to record a fairy tale or legend and bring it to class. Let's see how everyone did."

Xavier relayed the story of the four Seasonal Maidens. His brownish eyes seemed to light up as he read it, unsmiling, almost reverent. Marlyn's fairy tale was about a prince and a swallow who sacrificed themselves, giving their all to their people, and would be reborn over and over again as a human and a bird Faunus. Irving's was about a magical nightingale who used its aura to restore an emperor's. Emerald read the story of a shadow that tricked its master into switching it places and crowning it king, seeming to relish the tale.

(OOC: The fairy tales referenced here are The Happy Prince, The Nightingale, and the Shadow.)

The class had started rather abruptly and Pascal wasn't quite sure what to make of Professor Gorman, let alone the strange plant-like Grimm that had been successfully kept alive in captivity. Perhaps their instructors used the stress of his students to sustain the creature of destruction? He had taken a seat next to Lapis. It was really the only logical choice, that was the only face he recognized. Still, he silently hoped that he'd be able to connect with his classmates as he retrieved a small notebook from the depths of his coat.

Now, which Grimm should I write about? Perhaps the Goliath? No, I bet someone's already chosen it. Hmm... Pascal brought a hand to his forehead as he began to draw upon his own memories for any of the more unusual or regional Grimm. From within the confines of his sterile home deep in the Atlesian wilderness, he had very little chances to go outside let alone observe wandering Grimm. One Grimm in particular stood out in his mind however. Not wanting to lose his train of thought the young man began to jot down his answers.

Reynard

Alludes to Le Roman de Renart

A small Grimm that most resembles a Fox with its bushy tail. A sinister-looking grin is plastered upon the mask it wears upon its face. Quadrapedal and seemingly less threatening than other Grimm all things considered though this misconception comes as a result of the lack of growth it exhibits as it ages. It makes up for its small size and lack of physical power with its illusions and cleverness. Seems to have been the origin of several regional myths about regular foxes in general.

Satisfied with his answer, Pascal scrawled his name in the top right corner of the lined page and await further instruction. For now, he'd wait in silence and perhaps mull over his response as Lapis was engaged with the activity right now.

"...Mm, I wonder how Ebony and Cruor are doing. I do hope that she woke up on time." He muttered those words as he absentmindedly began a rough sketch of the Grimm on another page of his notebook. Perhaps the most noticeable feature of the specimen he had once seen throughout a window was the Z-like pattern that raced across the angular bone plates on its side.

Reimei "Shura" Shinohara

Hearing the blue-haired girl's words, Reimei didn't really care one bit for the 'insult'. For fun, however, she gave a response. "You wish, miss blue. Only a washed-up hag would senselessly try to argue back for no reason. People like you don't know the first thing about the world. Never seen somebody killed in front of them, never had to fight another person just to live. Join me for a cup after you've experienced a near-death situation, then I'll not be such an ass." Reimei stated casually, though stopping and turning around to toss a small silver cube over to her, which would float and land atop her head. "My token of approval, by the way. Very few people have the guts to shout such comments in the middle of a packed house. Find me after school, and pass me that cube. Only way I'll remember that I enjoy your company despite all else."

Classroom

With that done, Reimei proceeded to follow the crowd. She wound up in a classroom with which she followed another of her classmates to; the orange one who she didn't really get to pay much attention to at all during the span of the morning. Finding out she was in the right classroom by some event, she heard stuff about dust and that was that. Taking the sheet of paper passed to her, she wrote down only a single sentence, as she had no real favorite kind of dust nor did she really have reasons to like dust other than that they could be used for some tactical situations. "Very lousy an assignment, although I suppose I will enjoy the using of dust..." On her paper was a single sentence, reading simple words.

There is no favorite dust type of my choosing, though I prefer dust of a solid material such as earth and ice as I can make use of them through my aura.

Getting up after writing the sentence, she followed Lei and Afra alongside Palma out to the courtyard. Pulling out ice and earth dust, she played around with them as she waited, forming the dust crystals into different and often spiky shapes without setting them off into an explosion of ice and rocks. Yawning as she did so, she was absolutely tired of this school already. It didn't really help that the blue-haired girl was in the same class, although she didn't entirely mind as the blue-haired girl was actually a decent person in her mind; decent, of course, meaning somebody with the guts to talk shit to her. Still, the girl's pretty stupid as well... Better than the rest of the idiots though, who'd simply get offended, say something stupid, then walk off... This one's got the guts to actually stay and yell..." Reimei mumbled to herself.

Cruor nodded at the professors words. Woth silent interest, he sat and listened as the other students sooke their tales. It was his turn now. Clearing his throat, Cruor fixed his posture before reading.

"Long ago, there was said to be a blade passed down from king to prince. This blade was said to be blessed by the maidens themselves, able to harness the power of the four seasons, and was forged using every type of Dust known to man. This blade was appropriately named The Dusted Blade of the Four.

However, one king along the timeline saw the sword for what it was, a weapon powerful enough to destroy the world. He counseled with his advisors on this matter, and all unanimously agreed that to seal the sword’s powers and to be rid of it was the best option for the world. When the maidens received their summons, they arrived. The king, the highest authority within the kingdom of Mistral , bowed to them, sword offered to the four. “Please, seal the power this blade holds, for it will destroy the very homes we fight to protect.”

The Fall Maiden laughed. “Silly king, can’t you see the beauty in it’s presence?” She asked him.

The Summer Maiden spoke next, a wide grin on her face. “Smart King, you see the sword for what it can do, but you can’t see it for what it may do?”

The Winter Maiden offered a small, gentle smile. “Kind king, the power it wields is great, it will protect your homes and families.”

The Spring Maiden spoke last, a cheerful air surrounding her. “Wonderful King, this is a weapon, yes. Or, it may merely be a tool used to plow the fields, build your homes, or protect your loved ones. It is a sword, but it is only a tool. If you fear its power, then lock it away. We will not seal its powers because, one day, they might be needed to save your beloved homes.” She gestured to the mountains. “The mountains are harsh all year round, it’s no wonder nobody ventures there.” She said, offering a smirk.

And thus, the four left. But before they did, they all turned and the Summer Maiden spoke once more. “That blade will either be the world’s savior, or its armageddon. It all depends on its wielder.” With those final words, the four departed.

The king, thoughtful in their words, nodded and sat on his throne. He sat for a long time, examining the blade and thinking of what to do with it. At last, he called over his greatest warrior and friend, a mighty and smart man named Zavalas.

“Zavalas,” He began. “This task is only for the bravest, mightiest, and strongest of warriors. And thusly, I entrust it to you. Go now, build a home in the mountains and take your most trusted companions with you.” Handing the sword to the knight, Zavalas took it in hand and kneeled. “Yes my king, we shall not fail you.” He said before departing. From the shadows walked a cloaked man, bow strapped to his back. He performed a half bow. “I, Cayde, accept this quest. We shall not fail you, king.” And with those words, he left also. Lastly, from the side strode a darker skinned woman clad in hooded robes. Clasping her hands in front of her, she bowed lowly. “I, Ikora Rey, shall carry out his quest for the good of the kingdom and the world. Farewell, Good King, and may the gods be with you.” And lastly, she left.

The three ventured into the mountains alone. To this day, nobody knows what has become of them or the sword. However, there has been rumors of movement in the mountain range, could it be them? Or could it be something entirely different."

The gladiator let out a breath as he sat back down. This was the fiary tale that was told to explain the origins of the Pit. Cruor himself and told it to his sister many times before to help her get to sleep.

Lapis sat watching the time tick down when class started. It so abrupt that it was his semblance that allowed him to understand the last part of the teacher's task.

"What am I going to do?" Lapis wondered, time slowly flowing around him due his semblance. It was the reminder of his nightmare that gave him his Grimm. He hesitated a bit, unsure whether to bring up his trauma but after a moment to collect himself, he began his task.

Name: Predator

What name alludes to: A Predator that stalks its prey

What animal does it look most like: A preying mantis like body shape, with most of its body covered in plating. Weak points in its leg and arm joints and head joint. It's mask is almost featureless, with only two red streaks under its slightly bulged eyes. Its serrated blade like arms cling onto and "bite" into prey that are trying to escape. Mostly black to blend in and stalk prey.

With his task complete, he sat back in his seat and let time resume at its normal speed again, well for him.

@Mollisol, @GasMaskie

Midnight practlaly just stared at this strange, new Grimm that she has never even seen before. She'd seen heaps of them ( I mean ... Hunting is her thing) but nun like This one, she glared at it for a solid 5 minutes straight. She picked up her pen And wrote

Name: ... Audrey 2...or dragon snapper

What the name alludes to: ...the dragonoid look it has

What animal does it look most like: Well, comparing it with one animal wouldn't be enough. So I would say... A Dragons head placed in with a plant.

She didn't know or care if it made any sense, but she went along with it.

By the time Obsidian's team mates had returned to the dorm she had already passed out on the bed flat cold, into a sweet silent slumber. The quietest you would ever find her loud mouth.

The next morning she had also woken up before her team mates, she went outside to take a morning stroll of Haven. After doimg so she re-entered into the school for breakfast. The cafeteria seemed to only be dotted with a few people as the girl picked different items of food, and simply walked with the to class.

Obsidian had come into class late, a pancake half hanging out of her mouth. She quickly chewed in and took a seat, her eyes falling down on a piece of paper that asked her a simple question. It tweaked a smile at her face considering that Dust was a main part in her fighting style. She scribbled down a couple typed of dust, because she simply couldn't choose between the two, and quickly followed behind the people who were heading somewhere rolling a couple fire crystals in her hand in a calming motion.

@Dendyne @Dream Killer @Kiyoko Tomoe

Ebony had in fact woken up rather late. The night before she lay on her stomach with her nose stuffed in a book by the light of her scroll, and festival food continuously in her mouth.

When she finally awoke, the dorm was empty and she had most apparently missed breakfast, but in turn had woken up full. She rushed quickly to get dressed and out of the dorm towards her class. As she got closer to her class room she slowed her pace into a paced walked when she entered the room. She gazed over the people in the room until landing on her team mate and quickly sat down next to him, as the students started to read their tales, lastly coming down to Ebony; since she was the last to arrive to class began to read.

"Long ago.. In a time before Hunters and Grimm alike, the world was pure and raw. And in this pure world were two simple wolves. One who's fur was pure as the snow on which it stepped, and the other who's pelt dark as the night sky it stood under.

"These two such creatures, as different as day and night, had recurring encounters. They started out far and distant, silent, and almost unnoticed but these such times grew closer. Until, one wolf stood before the other, no one was more than the other and they stayed in this constant peace of encirclement night after night..

"On one fateful night, the dark wolf trudged through the snow until it came to were they would meet. It stood and waited, but never met by its companion. Its companion who had in fact been encountered by a two legged being, and with the pure wolf's last breath, it breathed life into the night sky. A bright glowing orb formed in the dark sky. And there the dark wolf stood, waiting, determined to never leave until its gaze fell upon its companion once more.

"..And its companion would never come, and instead was found by a two legged creature, whose back was decorated in a pelt the color of snow. Enraged by the sight, the wolf let out a screeching howl that caused part of the bright orb in the sky to shatter. Overcome with raw hatred, the dark wolf became corrupted. Its eyes turned red, and body reformed into a large sinister being. The creature gazed upon the two legged creature, filled with blood lust and hatred. A long moment it stared onto the two legged creature, but turned away feeling its past companion would have asked mercy of the creature..

"The dark wolf was filled with rage, and ran, unable to do anything else.. Droplets of its dark essence falling from its back into the snow, emerging dark corrupted creatures.

Before death, the pure wolf had not only blessed the darkness with light, but its aura had left it body. Passing on its pure aura into another creature, so that even in the darkest of times there would still be the purest form of light... Will the purest and darkest cross again..? Only time will tell, but the balance will be upheld; and light cannot exist without the dark."

The girl let out a small breath once she finished her short tale.

@Cruor Flumine @Mollisol (I can make edits to the story if necessary)

Ambrose gnawed on a piece of bacon while Eminence finished chewing some hash.

"Today’s non-combat classes, right? I have Grimm Geography today." she spoke up at the same time Midnight finally came over and took a seat. "Why do you have Dueling today? That’s for tomorrow, goof."

Ambrose thought about it, was it non-combat classes today? maybe, probably. That would mean he had Grimm Geography then, which meant he had pulled out Crixus for nothing.

"Really? Well now I feel like kind of an idiot.. Good thing you sat down Emm, save me some face there," He said earnestly, trying another nickname out on his teammate.

"Is something wrong, Mid?" Eminence asked while shifting forward a little, drawing Ambrose's attention to the quiet girl beside him.

"I'm not hungry... i'll see you guys later..." The Midnight said after a long pause, then stood up and made way for the nearest exit,

"But it's the most important meal of the day!" He called out to Midnight as she disappeared from view. Ambrose decided he would let it go this time but made was going to make a point to bring her out of that antisocial world she made for herself.

"Well then..." Eminence said with a frown, "Have you tried talking to her, Amby?" a smile crossed her lips as the last word crossed them.

Ambrose rolled his eyes but broke out in a wide grin, the nickname sounded pretty damn close to 'Bambi' but he could deal with that.

"Not yet but I will make a point to, poor thing needs a few friends out here.. We all do," he said with a sheepish grin, "We're going to be late though finish eating and let's get a move on,"

Ambrose gobbled down the rest of his bacon and a few more forkfuls of hash before standing up from the table,

"Let's go Emi, I think I know where i'm going," he said taking the lead out of the cafeteria and down the nearly vacant halls towards their classroom, save for a cerulean haired girl wearing a miffed look exiting the ladies room and heading into a classroom marked 'Dust Mechanics'.

After a short time Ambrose found the right classroom, opening the door and strolling in he saw most of the class was already there, including Midnight who stood away from everyone else in the corner of the room. He expected no less, but walked over and stood beside her despite the fact he knew she probably wouldn't care much for the company.

"Hey," he said with an amiable smile, trying not to scare her off again.

Then the professor came in strapped with some mean looking Saturday night specials. He went on a spiel regarding the various caged Grimm both exotic and mundane and the statue likenesses of the ones too dangerous are large to be allowed in a class.

"The hell is that thing?.. 'Dragon Snapper'?" Ambrose said in regards to the creepy little plant with it's scaly, reptilian head bopping gently along to it's own rhythm. The pronounced brow tunneling the vision from those sunken, beady eyes that tracked the observers with an intense focus, and hatred.

All the same Ambrose began scribbling down some notes on the little beast.

"Think it can breathe fire?" he quipped after finishing up his writing.

@InvaderTennTallest @Aryel (( Sorry it took so long! ))

Azurra sighed and looked her bandaged hand over, it had a few small crimson stains on several knuckles and in a few areas on her palm but otherwise she thought that the bleeding had stopped so she hopped off of the counter and stepped out of the bathroom quickly with her hands inside her jacket pockets.

She fingered the metal cube in her right pocket as she walked the short distance to class, getting annoyed all over again thinking about the way that girl dared talk to her. What did she know about her anyway? Nothing! Besides that what kind of fool thi- but Azurra crased that train of thought as she crossed the threshold into 'Dust Mechanics' and saw that the same brat from before was sitting over by Cinder and Ochre, Azurra murmured profanities too rude for your delicate eyes. Stepping across the room with a practiced stride and mask of aloofness, smiling sweetly and waving to Cinder and Ochre with her unblemished hand as she passed by. She sat down behind her teammates, beside one of the other girls on the airship in, from team ALOE she was pretty sure.

"Hey there! How's it goi-" Azurra began to greet Obsidian when the eccentric teacher, Professor Palma, clad in hues of green she began the class with a bang. A literal wind explosion she created in the room that startled Azurra with it's abruptness, making her jump slightly.

Then the professor broke into her lesson plan before heading outside, into a courtyard made up of a large concrete slab surrounded by a delightful garen basking in the warm, morning sunbeams.

Azurra quickly jotted down Fire and Lightning Dust as her personal favorites quickly, with a simple explanation stating that she used them with her Thorne too give her razor-wire trap some added deadliness. Pleased with her answer she quickly placed it on Palma's desk and headed out into the courtyard behind the ALOE girl, turning back she was Ochre was muttered something to Cinder with a confused look on his face so she came up beside raven-haired girl rolling around a fire crystal in one of her hands.

"Hey! Sorry about before, i'm Azurra and I think Fire Dust is the best way to go too," She said melodically as they passed by Reimei and stopped a little ways away from where her blonde rival toyed with some Dust, creating spikes and odd shapes that had an almost hypnotic quality.

"Watch out for this one, she's got a filthy mouth on her," Azurra leaned in and whispered to Obsidian, before giving Reimei an amiable smile. Truly, it was the best she could fake for such an uncouth individual.

"I love your little presentation there, it's quite charming," she said sweetly, reaching into her pants pocket and retrieving one of the crystals of Fire Dust. She concentrated her Aura on the crystal and cracked the top causing a lengthy flume of intense fire to pour out of the tip, she whipped it around like a sword with a very genuine grin before the heat became too much for her to hold and she pitched the flaming crystal into the ground causing a small explosion that rung her ears. She loved it.

Eminence Faustine YowlumneGreat... Classes are starting...

"We're going to be late, though. Finish eating and let's get a move on, Emi. I think I know where I'm going." Ambrose spoke up. After their little chit chat in the cafeteria, Eminence walked with Ambrose to class with him leading the way, seeing that they were classmates and all. The walk didn’t take as long as she expected as they made it to class around 5 minutes left before it was due to begin.

Following behind him, they made their way over to Midnight, who was in the same class as they were.
"Hey... Almost all of ALOE is in this class." she said, pointing out that Obsidian was the only one missing. "Hey," Ambrose greeted Midnight, with Eminence giving her a smile and a wave of her hand.

"Is everyone here? Well, never mind that; we're starting anyways. Grimm Geography is starting... now." spoke who Eminence thought was the professor. He then pointed to the chalkboard with a quick, sharp motion."My name is Professor Gorman.

"The hell is that thing?.. 'Dragon Snapper'?" Ambrose said in regard to the little planted Grimm. Eminence shrugged at him and furrowed her brows too, beginning to scribble on her notebook in all seriousness as she stared at a little statue of a Moth Grimm on the desk up front.

  • What's its name? <p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_05/57a8ca0b11c7c_Heian.jpg.7d6af271f8ac1c6aafc523bd52845c68.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="127069" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_05/57a8ca0b11c7c_Heian.jpg.7d6af271f8ac1c6aafc523bd52845c68.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

The Mothen aka Moth or Mothen

  • What does its name allude to?

It’s uncanny resemblance to a moth and/or butterfly.

  • What does it look like? (Refer to normal animals if necessary.)

It has a thin, grey body with four legs: two on either side, with notable huge wings. It’s wings have white, razor-sharp edges which it uses in battle. The only other notable trait of it being a Grimm is its head, donning its usualy mask that is seen on most, if not all, Grimm. It is about the size of an average human (1.5 meters) with a wingspan of 6 meters.

Satisfied with her work, she placed her pen on her notebook and looked around, finding just a few students done with the task at hand. Eminence turned to her side to find Ambrose still hard at work.
‘I shouldn’t disturb him just yet.’ she told herself, a sly grin forming across her face at the thought of disrupting his concentration.

"Think it can breathe fire?" He asked after finishing up his work, a few moments later. "I have no clue, big guy." She replied back, looking at the thing with curiousity. "Hopefully not." she then turned to look at Midnight, who seemed to be done as well. "How'd you fair, Mid?"

midnight tried to avoid eye contact with her fellow Team mates through out the lesson. It became more and more of a struggle to not speak at all, She opened her mouth to say something but then gave up at rested her head on her table. She eventually came to the conclusion that all she had to do was wait until the end off class to then be the first person out of the class to avoid any talking. Hoping her anti-social plan would finally work for once in a while, she added more and more to it.

The only problem was that she knew she would have to eventually see her Team in their dorm rooms. Now that was something she did't really know how to control or help herself with. She was eventually taken off of her 'Escape' plans to look at the strange Grimm again.

Ochre picked up the sheet laid out in front of him, a little confused. He looked over to Cinder, with a rather perplexed expression. "Did you hear what she said?" He asked, as he sheepishly scratched the back of his head. Ochre had never paid much attention in his classes, much to the dismay of his friends. He'd always relied on his friends for help in classes, borrowing notes from them, or having them explain the lesson that was taught. Ochre wasn't necessarily slow... He was actually a very good learner, and retained information well, but he had trouble paying attention... No matter what his friends tried, they couldn't get him to pay attention. Maybe his new team would have better luck...

"Dust," Cinder said, without a hint of confusion in her voice. "What Dust we like to use, and why. Then we follow her to the courtyard." She jotted down, I prefer to use fire Dust because it is the element of power, and glass Dust because its deadly lines are what give it form. Handing in her paper, she gave Ochre a small tap on the back and beckoned him to follow her outside.

In the courtyard, Palma was essentially reading an invisible lab manual to those who hadn't managed to start yet.
"... and focus your aura into your hand, like you're using them to block an attack. But instead of channeling it against a bullet or blade, let it flow outwards through the Dust crystal. Once again, if you don't have any to use, come up here."

Afra looked as if she'd been doing this all her life. She seemed to caress the silvery metal Dust as her lotus-pink aura surged in, causing it to vibrate. Then a small creature made of metal appeared from her hand - it looked a bit like a sea anemone. A horned Faunus named Lei had chosen to channel his aura through lightning Dust, which resulted in a bolt of electricity that bounced all over the place but managed not to hit anyone. Goggle girl, who'd introduced herself to a few people as Natsumi Abe, had created some small boulders using earth Dust. And her hooded teammate had quite literally blown everyone back with wind Dust.

Cinder made it out to the courtyard, too caught up in her own thoughts to check if Ochre was following her. She took some glass Dust out of her pack, and rolled it around in her hands, before forcing her aura into it. Glass shards leapt out of thin air, forming haphazard morningstars and crescent moons. She jumped at the sound of them shattering in the ground.

Palma gave her a disapproving look, and used her hand to apply some fire Dust that promptly melted the shards into the ground.
"That's all that's needed for today. I'll see those of you in Aura Development tomorrow," she said bluntly.

This was going to be a long year.

(EDIT: @Dream Killer I just realized I ended the class before you had a chance to post your Dust-interaction. My intent is for you to post your Dusting, and then at the end of your post have Palma ending the class. Does that make sense?)

Meanwhile, Professor Firebrick clapped her hands together.
"That's all the time we have for today, everyone. Thank you for sharing. We'll go into analysis tomorrow... and duelists, I hope you're prepared to have me twice in a row." The six students shuffled out of the class. It was a few moments later that Cruor would notice something was... missing. And Emerald Sustrai was holding it, trying to hide it, as she skittered away.

(OOC:
@Cruor Flumine , it's up to you what she took, as I'm just trying to get the interaction going. It can be as inconsequential as a few lien or the device Cruor uses to communicate with the Praetor, as long as an outsider might perceive it to have some value.)

In the blue-painted classroom, Professor Gorman took up the papers, and read each aloud to the class.
"That covers it for today, gang. See a large portion of you in Grimm Physiology tomorrow, and have a great afternoon. Train hard."

Everyone stood up from their seats in a relatively calm fashion, except for Delaney Duncan, who chose to jump at Hazel full-force and pull her into a hug. "Wasn't that great? I never knew I knew so much about Beowulves!"

Nila debated following her team, but wandered in Lapis's direction instead. "A mantis Grimm, huh? I never knew about those... are they common where you come from?"

Midnight found this was the time to run, she didn't care if her asthma attacked her, she wanted out. She grabbed her things and sprinted out the classroom, When she eventually escaped she realized again that she had to come up with another plan to escape. She wan't very good at planing all the time, She thought and thought for a while until she found out...she ran into her dorm room. Somehow she didn't notice that she'd ran strait there, She must have been too focused on her 'Escape plan' to even bother to care where she went.

She then ran out hoping that she wouldn't run into anyone at all, she would hate to have started a conflict between any other student as that would force her to say something. She put her stuff on her bed and hurried out of the room, this time remembering to know where to go.

Lapis wasn't faring well, his hands in tight fist and his mind racing. It didn't help that every few seconds, something made a clicking noise in the background, something that reminded him of the Grimm he just wrote about. Throughout the rest of the lesson, he had an earth dust crystal held in his hand, ready to slam it into the hilt of Gemstone and parry any coming attacks. "C'mon buddy... It's all in the past..." Lapis chanted to himself under his breath.

It took Lapis by surprise when Nila appeared before him, wanting to know about the Grimm that he had presented. He had placed the dust crystal into Gemstone and had half drawn it when he realised that time wasn't slowed. Expertly removing the crystal and returning it to its slot, Lapis turned to answer Nila, taking a moment to recompose himself. "Predators are almost everywhere in the world. The reason most aren't seen is because they are ambush hunters. There are more in Vale, but they hang out near forests." After finishing his sentence, he winced as he remembered the moment almost a dozen Predators appeared. "Should we be going?" Lapis said while pointing to the door. "I can tell you more if you like."

Cruor, after standing up, patted his pockets to make sure he wasn't leaving anything. A worried look cane over his face as he found his scroll missing from his pocket. Thankfully, it was locked by a passcode that only he, Lucy, and Harkon should know. The gladiator looked around for any suspicious persons.

Spotting a mint-haired girl with his scroll almost hidden in her hand. "I'll be back." He said to his team mate. Quickly, he walked up to her, albeit calm as to not draw any attention towards the matter. Placing his hand on her shoulder, the gladiator gave it a squeeze. "Let's go talk, yes?" He may be a religious man, but that does not mean he wasnt prone to wrath.

@Mollisol @Syrina

"Yes, let's. Tell me all about them," Nila said, more curious than worried. Her dress seemed to blow in a nonexistent wind - that was her Semblance.

Emerald jumped at the shoulder-squeezing, and her head whipped around, red eyes flashing with fear. She fought the urge to run away; the man's grip was too strong. She should've used her illusions, at least made a copy of herself somewhere else.

It was the second time she knew she'd been caught.

"Look -- I'm sorry -- you can -- can you just -- I--" she sputtered, until Xavier Pitambara appeared behind them.

"Going somewhere?" It was then that he noticed the scroll in Emerald's sweaty hand. "Oh, come on, Em. Not this again. Give it back. You couldn't have gotten anything of value from a locked scroll anyways." He turned to Cruor. "My name is Xavier Pitambara. I deeply apologize for my teammate's behavior. She and the leader have been... working on it. I do understand if you wish to pursue action... higher up. But I plead that you don't."

@Cruor Flumine @Deltorian Nephran

Turning around, Cruor eyed the boy named Xavier. He seemed well enough a goid person. But never judge a book by its cover. "Don't worry about it, I'd rather not make this into a serious situation. My name is Cruor, it's a pleasure to meet you, even of it is under these circumstances." He tightened his grip on 'Em's' shoulder bedore releasing it altogether. He reached down and took the scroll from her hand. "I can overlook this, just don't let it happen again. If it does, I'll deal with it myself." He said, the words holding a hidden malice under its calm surface. If she did end up with an important item of his in her possession, he would let her know just how violent he could be.

Ambrose let out a sigh weeping with boredom, the classroom riddled with various Grimm had been fascinating for all of twenty minutes before he had gotten over the initial wonderment.

"How'd you fair, Mid?" Eminence, who had been taking down notes on a moth-like creature, asked their overly quiet teammate.

Midnight's eyes swept the room quickly as if she was trying to find something important to her but she said nothing, Ambrose opened his mouth to ask her opinion on the fire breathing dilemma when the professor's booming voice began to sound off.

"That covers it for today, gang. See a large portion of you in Grimm Physiology tomorrow, and have a great afternoon. Train hard." he said giving a curt wave to his students before going back to his desk to prepare the following day's lesson plan.

Ambrose turned to Midnight who still had yet to say, anything really, but only caught sight of a flurry of her blue hair as it fluttered out the door, giving chase to their antisocial teammate that had gone on the run.

Ambrose gritted his teeth in frusteration before giving his head a shake at the resistance Midnight was putting up, but her tenacity made it hard to wipe the hint of a smirk off of his lips.

"Better luck next time I suppose.." He remarked, "Let's go get Obsidian then?"

Ambrose ambled towards the door, passing by a girl with pale green hair stammering while she spoke to tall guy with crimson eyes trained on the poor thing, he was about to step in to see if there was a problem but her own teammate showed up to the rescue so he stepped passed the group without giving it too much attention.

@Aryel

"I'm sure that won't be needed, as this won't be happening again in the future. Anyways, thank you," Xavier said, taking hold of Emerald's wrist. "Shall we get out of here, Em?"

"Let's," the mint-haired girl replied, not looking back at Cruor as Xavier led her away and back to her team.

Genesis Laban, the white-haired leader of team GLXE, and Lei Chao, the three-horned faunus, were waiting for them further down the hall.
"That look on your face... don't tell me..." Genesis sighed.

"It's just a habit," Emerald said, looking at the floor. "I'll break it. Eventually."

Genesis got down to her level. "You better. This looks bad for us."

"Hey, hey. We should go train," Lei said.

The team headed out to the grounds, but Genesis shot Emerald a very dark look.

Eminence Faustine YowlumneWhat can we do now?

Eminence followed behind, making sure to evade what looked like a mini confrontation in the class. It was somewhat fun, despite the silence that filled the room while working on their writings. The day was young and they had no other classes or activities to attend to.

"Where is Obsidian supposed to be right now?" She asked, linking her arm around Ambrose's own as they walked. He was fairly taller than her, so she had decided to do what she had to keep up with him. Her mind had than wandered off to her belongings in her room. "Oh Dust." She murmured, snapping her fingers in her realization. "Have you unpacked your stuff yet, Rosey?" She asked with a smirk that couldn't be erased from the nickname she gave him.
