Fandom RWBY Prequel: Pillars of Chaos (reboot)

"My... keeper?" she asked as Ochre placed the piece in the keyhole. Such a shake sounded odd in Cinder's sensuous alto - that was what her parents called it. They used to ask her, "Why not be a singer? All of the job instability and none of the death risk."

"How about my friend?" She regarded Azurra's proud expression behind her cascade of blue hair. She flashed back to when they first met - when Cinder had just stumbled across her twirling her staff against two Ursas, and Cinder had taken out one with a freak burst of metal Dust from her shoes. Spines of steel had permeated the bear-Grimm's neck and chest, pinned it to the ground, and forced it into ashes. Still fresh in her mind was the look on Azurra's face...

She wondered if the girl would believe in her.

"Hey! The ship's about to leave! Quit your fightin' and keyholin' and get on!" an unfamiliar voice called. She turned around to see a copper-uniformed man with Haven's crest on his lapel had entered the room, waving his hands and shouting at them. His eyes were hidden behind aviation goggles.

"We should go..." Cinder breathed before Azurra could answer her. She followed the man back to the airship, looking back to make sure her teammates were following. She wondered if it'd been too early to ask Azurra to be more than just a simple teammate.

Ochre was already on the ship when the copper-clad man had began yelling at his teammates to get on. The boy, glared around the ship, his smirk gone, his expression cold, and analytical. He could practically smell that filthy Faunus... Hell, he could smell her!! Stupid degenerate... He would make an effort to keep her from his belongings. He wouldn't be surprised if she took his... Well, he didn't really have much... His weapon, maybe? Ochre hated when logic made it's way into his head while he was ranting... Ochre plopped down in a seat, tongue pressed against the side of his cheek, making him look either extremely annoyed, or deep in thought. Really, it was both. He hated the fact that he was stuck on a team with 4 women... One of them being a Faunus, no less... Although, he had to admit, that filthy, thieving, smelly Faunus actually looked pretty cute... Of course she did, but she was still the enemy. Filthy Thief...

Azurra had a sly smile etched across her lips as the plant Grimm faded to ash, she had to repress that freeing high that came with turning your enemies to ash but she was human after all.

Her extinguished spikes finished disentangling themselves and retracted back into Thorne fully, they still smoked gently when they clicked back into place.

Ochre appeared after a few moments and wordlessly crossed over to the key slot that had been buried in the roots of that gigantic Grimm before popping it in with a smirk. Azurra's smile wavered for a moment at that, she couldn't understand what he had to be smiling about when he had literally just come out of a near-death situation and frankly thought he might be a little touched in the head. Despite that she felt pretty good about getting to show off a little of what she could do, it was nothing to be skilled if nobody knew about it.

"My... keeper?" The Devil she spoke of asked while Ochre worked the key, Azurra turned to see Cinder had that uneasy pensive look she always wore whenever she was unsure of herself.

"How about my friend?" Cinder asked sincerely, catching her cerulean haired partner off-guard.

Azurra pondered it for a moment while scratching at her cheek a little with a free hand, they weren't exactly friends but ever since they had met she felt like the girl needed a good older sister.

Azurra's train of thought switched tracks to that auspicious day when she had been jumped by a couple Ursas while training in the woods nearby Haven. She remembered how foolish it was for her to be distracted enough, practicing with Thorne, to allow those Grimm to get the drop on her. Cinder had shown up out of the blue, she had Azurra's back before she even knew her, and the gleam off of those steel spikes she conjured up from her shoes of all places was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen.

The sudden burst of steel had even thrown off the Grimm's partner enough that Azurra easily took it down with plunging strike to the throat and drove it down into the ground where it faded to ash. Afterwards she had taken a good look at her savoir, she realized it might have been the first time she had felt genuine gratitude towards someone and it showed despite herself. Azurra considered that a little refinement and guidance was all Cinder really needed.

"Hey! The ship's about to leave! Quit your fightin' and keyholin' and get on!" a gruff voice Azurra hadn't heard before brought reality back into view, the uniformed man who's shouts were assaulting her ears looked pretty official so she figured it was best to shut-up and listen to him, Azurra opened her mouth to give Cinder her answer but she was interrupted before she could begin.

"We should go..." Cinder agreed with Azurra's thoughts before they both began following after who she assumed was their pilot onto the small airship that had been sent out for them.

Azurra gave Cinder's arm a tug towards a couple of chairs nearby each other and close enough to one of the viewing windows so she could watch the scenery go by on their trip, Ochre was already lounging in another chair across the small observation deck.

"C'mon! Let's sit over here," Azurra said already in mid-stride.

@Mollisol ( How's that? Somewhere in the realm of whatchu were thinking? ) @Quiet @Dream Killer

"...And. All. Done." Pascal spoke softly towards no one in particular as he finished unpacking his luggage. He had already selected his corner of Team PERL's living space. A collection of brass knick-knacks, likely the remains of some antique machines, had been neatly arranged on a shelf overlooking his desk. In the back of the room a perfectly preserved record player sat upon a small table. The young man's record collection had been stowed away under his bed (a bottom bunk) but took only a few moments for the leader of Team PERL to change into a clean pair of clothes.

"Right then. I suppose I'll head to the festival then. Ebony's luggage is still here, but in all likelihood she's already out and about. Solitary exploration doesn't sound too bad for now."
He eyed his collection once more. Ah, yes, that one was given to me one birthday by ████. The young man's eyes widened as a sudden pang of pain surged through his head. The intense pain eventually subsided, but he found himself unable to remember his train of thought.

Shaking off the strange occurrence, Pascal left Team PERL's dorm room and left the housing complex. Even after all the time that passed, it seemed that there was no end to the festival. A whimsical music filled the air as Pascal wandered about the fairgrounds. The Little Lamb found himself attracted to the scent of exotic (well, at least to him) foodstuffs and the guilty pleasures of fried food. Occasionally, he found himself drawn to a game stall when the operator had called out to him.

Pascal sighed as he took a seat at a bench near the airship landing area. Next to him lay an absurd amount of stuffed toys that he had won at each vendor. Perhaps the most morbid of which was a giant plush rendition of a Goliath that he had to carry upon his back. A pile of paper food trays sat at his other side, the remains of an adventure into carnival cuisine. He gazed up at the clear blue sky and sighed. While it had proved to be an entertaining experience, he found himself exhausted at the end of it.

The sun dipped much lower in the sky as Afra and Hazel attempted to reunite Eminence with the rest of team ALOE, and Nila showed a few members of team PERL around the grounds, eventually leading them up into their dorm room. She excused herself as another girl came in through the stairway door. "I get the feeling Hazel is looking for me." @Syrina @Deltorian Nephran @Cruor Flumine

Team ORCA made their way onto the airship, and followed a blue-haired girl out onto the observation deck. Cinder observed how different the view here was from below - she must be able to see all of Mistral from up here. Well, maybe not, but she noticed she could see beyond the swamps as they soared through the sky. Marshland faded to prairies, which gave way to vast green and black arms of forest and city. She wondered if they were far up enough that she could see her home. Perish the thought, she told herself. That was another era. She focused on Haven, a small dot with jutting towers and flat planes in beautiful colors. Before the airship began its descent, she asked her team, "Do you see anything familiar down there?"

Ochre barely paid any attention to the shades of green passing by his window in a blur. He didn't want to be reminded of the outside world. No, not after he tried so hard to rid himself of it. Haven, was his home now, and these people, save for the Faunus, were his new family. And so, they should be treated as such. Ignored, and internally hated. Or, at least, that's what he would tell himself. Truth be told, he was already quite fond of all of them. Of course, they wouldn't ever learn that, so long as Ochre has anything to do with it. He eyed the two girls sitting across the observation deck from him, his glare cold, face expressionless. There was really nothing else to look at, and he didn't mind judgement. Ochre sat back and crossed his arms, kicking his feet up onto the table in front of him, despite the sign above his head which specifically stated, 'No feet on the tables', which Ochre hadn't seen to begin with. He pressed his tongue to the side of his cheek, and continued glaring at the girls.

@Dendyne @Mollisol @Quiet

Cruor let out a sigh as the girl left, leaving him and Lapis alone. "Well, it's just me and you now, whaddya say we check out our room and get set in?" He asked as he pushed the door open, walking in. He could see his things on a bed, all five pounds of it. Just clothes and a dust infused whet stone was packed as nothing else was needed for him. He saw both Pascal's and Ebony's things packed away, meaning the two had already been here.

@Deltorian Nephran @Syrina @GasMaskie

Lapis diligently packed his things, some clothes, a few more dust crystals and a few more bits and bobs. Lapis looked over at his team mate's luggage and wondered where he came from. "If this was back in Vale, I'm pretty sure that my sister would haved helped me out with this stuff. She did that stuff around the house very often." Lapis rambled, just speaking his mind. "What's your sister like?" Lapis asked, just curious.

@Cruor Flumine

"Too hyper for her own good. She's shy before you actually get to know her, then she becomes a ball of energy. I'm her favorite person to be around, and she's mine." He let out a sigh, smiling contently. "She'll be sixteen this month actually. I need to find her a gift."

(OOC: look who got a break in her schedule today!)

@Quiet (you still need to put your stats in your profile, FYI) @Dream Killer @Dendyne

The airship attendant gave each member of team ORCA a copy of Headmistress Mayur's schedule list, with a "Welcome" note and the instructions to choose one Combat Focus class and one Noncombat Focus class:

COMBAT FOCUS

Aura Development

Grimm Physiology

Dueling (Vytal Festival Prep)

NONCOMBAT FOCUS

Lore and Fairy Tales

Grimm Geography

Dust Mechanics

(OOC:

Aura Development: fighting people and things with only Aura and Semblances. Good for players whose character's Semblance is complex, the main focus of their fighting, or relating to their story.

Grimm Physiology: involves traveling to Grimm-infested places to learn more about them, often in the thick of battle as you can't exactly dissect piles of ash. Good for players who get bored of the same setting all the time.

Dueling (Vytal Festival Prep): rotating sparring matches and 1v1 focus. Good for players who are interested in getting to know the NPCs, and perhaps looking forward to some PvP.

Lore and Fairy Tales: players should be prepared to submit a fairy tale and how it ties into the RWBY world, like something that exists alongside the Seasonal Maidens. I'm hoping we get something that could be involved in missions.

Grimm Geography: players should be prepared to submit a new type of Grimm and develop it over the course of the RP. Some or all submissions might be encountered in the RP.

Dust Mechanics: players should be prepared to submit new ways of using Dust, as well as explorations of Dust use their character doesn't typically use.

Everything but Aura Development and Dust Mechanics is pretty full, but I won't bar you from participating in them. Just be warned that your character probably won't get as much attention in the more crowded classes because I'm focusing on so many people.)

Meanwhile, a note had been placed on the pillows in each of the students' dorms.

"Hello,

I'd like to give you one final welcome to Haven as I explain to you the class rotations. You are considered experienced enough to go on missions, so the faculty and I expect you to work hard. Enjoy tonight, and be at your Noncombat classes no later than 8:30 a.m. tomorrow. Classes and missions are on the following four-day rotation:

Day 1: Noncombat Classes

Day 2: Combat Classes

Day 3: Academic and Training Classes.
(OOC: these classes will be timeskipped past so you can pursue your miniplots.)

Day 4: Missions

(OOC: these are not real-time; a day is expected to take 1-2 real time days.)

Aura Development: Narthex, first floor

Dueling (Vytal Festival Prep): Tea room, first floor

Grimm Physiology: Meet at airship outside event plaza

Dust Mechanics: Classroom 1, second floor

Grimm Geography: Classroom 2, second floor

Lore and Fairy Tales: Classroom 3, second floor

Good luck,

Headmistress Gauri Mayur"

@Syrina @Cruor Flumine @Deltorian Nephran @GasMaskie (for those of you who have already been here, your character should've seen this, or will notice it later)

@InvaderTennTallest (you still need to check the mechanics tab if you haven't already, and put your stats in your profile) @Aryel (I'm assuming your team will get back to the dorms at some point today)

Ochre watched the pale white paper fall into his lap, barely glancing up at the woman who'd given it to him. He sighed a bit, and glared down at the paper. He saw boxes to check, and instantly took out his Whet Pen. He put the tip to the paper, and almost pushed the button. He gasped a bit when he felt his thumb hit the button on the end, but he stopped himself before he could push down the button. He glared up at his teammates as a way of saying 'You didn't see that.'. The embarrassed team leader checked the boxes 'Aura Development' and 'Dust Mechanics', before folding up the paper and putting it in his pocket. He was about to put his pen away, when he realized the tip was still out. As you would do with any normal pen, he pressed the button at the end, to retract the ink-filled tip. This, however, was not a normal pen. Ochre's arm was engulfed in steel, turning the whole thing into a mangled mass of steel, which doubled his arm's length, and width. Ochre was sent flying into the roof above him. The 'Brave' and 'Fearless' Team Leader found himself flying through the sky, screaming, and flailing around. Before long, he collided with the ground, using a combination of his Whet Arm, and his Aura to soften his landing. Although, his Aura had shattered, and his Whet Arm had dented in on his wrist, effectively breaking the bone. Ochre retracted his Whet Arm, the pen falling onto the ground. The Campus wasn't too far from where he lay, but it would still be a hell of a hassle. Ochre used his good arm to pick up his Whet Pen and put it in his pocket, before limping his way into the woods, towards the Academy. Now, if he was smart, he would have waited for the Airship to turn around and pick him up. But, Ochre isn't the sharpest crayon in the pencil box, so, he got lost in the woods.

Azurra tapped the end of the cheap pen the flight attendant had given her along with the class roster sheet, dueling was out for sure since she could didn't much like get beat on in close-quarters when Thorne has so many wonderful spikes and wires to make use of.

"I think.. I think i'm going to take Aura Development aaaand Dust Mechanics!" she said scratching in neat little checks across the appropriate boxes with a satisfied smirk.

"What are you taking Cinder? We had better have one class together at lea-" Azurra began, turning to face her mousy companion when an abrupt crash followed a deafening, metallic screeching ripped her attention over to where Ochre had sat only moments before. The airship dipped dipped hard to the left, trying to recover from the sudden jostling on-board, almost throwing Azurra out of her chair but she abandoned Thorne to hold tight with both hands. Her quarter-staff bounced violently against the observation window threatening to smash it open before hitting the deck and rolling about as if it had it's own will, and it was really pissed off.

"What the hell!?" Azurra cried to Cinder in disbelief as the pilot reined in ship, then she pivoted her head around to see if Ochre had dodged whatever that was. He was nowhere to be found but Rasp was looking no worse for wear, probably less shaken than the rest of them looked too and the flight attendant had eaten some floor but she was getting up groggily so she could take care of herself.

"What happened to Ochre!?" She shouted to her teammates over the rushing air from the gaping hole now in the ceiling. Though it was starting to become clear that something either ripped him clean out of the ship in which case the pilot probably would have warned them beforehand so it was very likely he did something stupid and threw himself clear of the ship. Either way they were going to have to find him before he got himself killed.

"Stop the ship!" Azurra commanded the attendant while throwing herself to her feet angrily and padding across the deck to where Thorne lay, the attendant rubbed a small bruise on her cheek indignantly but gave a curt nod before bounding off to the cabin. The airship slowed to a hover after a couple of minutes.

"Does anyone see him?" She asked with her weapon in hand, stepping up to one of the large observation windows she scoured the ground below with her eyes but they were too high up to get a good look, they were probably staring at the fool but couldn't tell.

"If we survive today, then we're having sundaes on me," Azurra murmured with frustration realizing if Ochre had gone under the canopy of the trees that they might as well jump ship too. "Not cheap ones either, i'm talking hand churned, soft serve here!" she continued, her mind focusing on her goal now as she walked over to the rear of the ship. "They'll be covered in sprinkles and chocolate syrup," Azurra gripped a fair-sized lever on the back well, almost in the corner, and gave it a sharp pull. A loud, dull alarm went off along with several yellow and red flashing lights, a voice came on in between the blares stating, "WARNING, USE OF THE LOADING BAY DOOR IN-FLIGHT IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS." Then the back hatch opened up, spilling light in through the back.

"Did I mention they would chocolate, strawberry and vanilla!?" Azurra gingerly stepped towards the edge of the loading ramp with Thorne gripped tightly in-hand. Rasp could use her weapon to rappel down with her but Cinder didn't have a method to descend and quickly get back up.

"Coming Cinder?" She asked, turning back to the ship's interior then firing a spike into ramp. The way Azurra figured it, they could just rappel down instead of descending and make passes while calling out to Ochre. So long as they stayed above the treeline they shouldn't have any problems.

-Ebony-

The girl had left her dorm after changing into clean attire, and decided to wander the festival. The soft breeze blew towards her, carrying the smells of the festival, simply following her nose from there. Ebony ventured from kiosk to kiosk, buying what looked best on every menu until the sun started to get low in the sky.

She wandered quietly back into Haven, entering her dorm room where a few of her team mates had already been. She had plates stacked on top of each other, each with a different type of fried food. Nodding her head in greeting she walked over to the bed she had claimed, and her luggage was set on, noticing a piece of paper on her pillow she must have missed when she came to the room earlier. She read it over silently as she set her food on her bed, taking a random fried food off one of the plates and eating it.

@GasMaskie @Deltorian Nephran @Cruor Flumine

-Obsidian-

The girl had spent much of her time at the festival, and as the sky started to light up with the last beautiful hues of the night. She started to head back towards her dorm room, and explore what it was like.

Obsidian set her hand on the door knob before pushing it open, letting herself into the room with a large window that could see over the festival with the sunset behind it. Standing by the window a moment she gazed out onto the festival, watching all the tiny specs that seemed to wander. After a moment of looking out she turned away and focused her attention on her suitcase, opening it up and pulling out a single picture frame that encased herself and the people she had come to call family around her. Obsidian smiled down on the picture before setting it down on a bed side table. Beside her suitcase she had set two medium sized stuffed grimm toys that she found rather cute, and would have them adorn her bed.

Cruor watched silently for a moment as the female member of his team sat down a large amount of food on her bed. "Uh...You sure you're going to be able to eat all that, Ebony?" He asked after examining his own piece of paper on his bed, whose was across the room from hers. The bag of things that was once located on his bed was now on the floor next to his bed. Favorable Downfall sat sheathed in its twin falchion form, leaning against the wall. "Regardless of the amount of food you got, how was the festival?"

@Syrina @Deltorian Nephran @GasMaskie

The door to Team PERL's sleeping area opened slowly as Pascal slowly entered the room. He only offered a small smile to the other three members of Team PERL before immediately making his way to his bed and flopping down onto its soft surface. Prior to leaving, he had already stowed away the note from the Headmistress in one of his desk's drawers and set an alarm for 6:30. That would give him ample time to get ready for classes and a jog around the campus. Outside, in the dorm's common room, Pascal's assortment of festival prizes had been neatly piled up in a corner of the room.

Pascal turned over onto his back and glanced at the others. Lapis and Cruor seemed to be nearly done unpacking while Ebony still had a pile of festival food on her bed. He pat his own stomach, the amount of food he had consumed left him feeling more than full.
I wonder, what happened to that last team at initiation... He didn't see their airship land after spending some time simply unwinding on a nearby bench. Perhaps he'd bump into one of their team member's in the morning.

He couldn't help but smile as he slid his hat over his face. The festival really was fun, though it did seem rather tiring with all of its attractions. It was more exciting than simply lounging around in a white room and reading, though the young man couldn't help but miss the strange, isolated white structure that he had called 'home' for most of his life.

Midnight was kinda lost and had no idea where everyone was Maybe I should look for someone i recognise and ask them where i go... She asked herself.

She looked for someone familiar but there was no luck, She continued her long and tiring walk until she found a specific tree.

It was a smallish tree with lightish blueish leaves and pretty light brown branches. Midnight sat under them and eventually fell asleep.

The sun was low in the sky, and vendors had begun to pack up. A voice and a gentle shake came to Midnight as she slept. "Hey! Are you awake? We're going back to our dorms, and you look separated from your team. Would you like us to take you there?" asked Xavier Pitambara. The yellow-haired man tried clapping his hands, gently shaking her shoulders, and speaking until the girl was awake.

@InvaderTennTallest

Aboard the airship, Cinder had been scratching off Dust Mechanics and Grimm Physiology when the deafening screech of metal cutting metal hit her ears. "What happened?" she called, looking in Ochre's direction only to see a jagged hole. To her relief, Azurra took action right away, calling for the ship to be stopped and lightening the mood with her blissful remarks about sundaes. Cinder realized she could really use one right now, but she was going to miss the fair, and besides, Azurra was already going to rappel down.

Well, this was what the steam Dust was for.

As Azurra prepared to rappel down to the woods below to find their leader, Cinder jumped through the hole, deploying the last of her steam Dust little by little, breaking her fall with bursts of steam-powered propulsion. She landed hard on the forest floor, her Aura absorbing the damage. She noticed a blur in the forest. Hoping it wasn't a Grimm, she called out Ochre's name, prepared to use her ice Dust if needed.

Team GLXE ran after her until she stopped. "You seem... confused," the dark-skinned leader said. "My name's Genesis Laban of Team GLXE; we don't want to hurt you. And I think you're on Team ALOE. I saw your team over there." She pointed to the darts stall, which was just starting to get closed up. Hazel and Afra had left Ambrose and Eminence to wait on their teammate.

Genesis wondered where the fourth teammate was, that girl in the dark garment. What was her name - Jet? Onyx? She wasn't sure. Either way, she saw it as her duty to escort the stragglers to their teams so they could safely get up to the dorms. Everyone was redeemable - the girl she'd caught stealing from her, the boy with the single-form weapon, and the faunus who wielded a garden gnome. Genesis ran her hands through her hair uneasily at the memory of meeting him, and wondered if she should walk the girl to her team.

The rest of Lapis' team soon arrived back at the room, just as he had put away the last of his things. "Ah, how was the festival? We had a nice tour of Haven, didn't we Cruor?" Lapis said, stretching. His bed was next to Cruor's, which sat on the right hand side of the room. Ebony and Pascal sat on the other side, but there was a small partition between the two beds. After marking his timetable with his classes, he turned to face Cruor.

"What about other family members, or do you not have anyone else? I'm guessing this because you didn't mention anyone beside your sister when Nila asked and it happened again when I asked you." Lapis asked, tone lowered so that it was harder to hear. "I know what it is like without parents."

Cruor waved it off. "I never said I didn't have any parents. My father, Harkon, is away most of the time. Normally it's just me and her taking care of ourselves, but he does come around when able. He sends us money when we need it for food, so I learned to cook. Canned food and cereal tends to get old real quick. As for my mother, I never met her. Father told me she died at childbirth and wouldn't speak anymore about her." It was mostly the truth. Harkon once had a wife and he did learn to cook for both him and his sister. However, he had to leave out everything else about his life. Orders were orders, they had to be followed.

Ambrose strolled up to the shop keeper and gave him a curt wave,

"How's it going man? Think I could grab some darts?" he said putting his arms down on the counter top and leaning in slightly.

"Sure thing," replied the clean cut keeper, he hunched down to grab a wooden box filled with a dozen or so darts stuffed in haphazardly and placed it on the counter before adding, "Three lien for an hour,"

"Thanks," Ambrose said retrieving his wallet from his back pocket and pulling out a few off-blue paper bills to pay him with, "Don't spend it all it one place now," he added when he grabbed the box of darts and headed back over to the ever spirited Delaney and her near opposite, Midnight.

Delaney started bouncing up and down when she noticed Ambrose had the darts, her dress and brunette tumbles bounding along with her excitement. He dropped the box on a nearby table before pulling out a couple darts, careful not to catch one of the upturned points, and stepped up to the little gallery that was set up before cocking back his roight arm and firing off one of the slender darts. It whizzed past an Ursa cutout that chugged along, mocking the DeLuca name.

"Hey guys!" A voice called out, it was unfamiliar and Ambrose was on a mission now so he paid it no mind. "We've been looking for you!" The voice repeated louder and closer than before, he cocked back and rattled off another shot that pegged a cutout of a some hooded character directly in the chest with a dull ping, then looked back to see a trio of ladies rolling up on them quickly.

The silver haired one walked over to Ambrose specifically and gave a curt nod, she looked familiar too so he was pretty sure she was one of the girls on the team he was supposed to take over. Emma? or no, it was fancier than that.. like Emerald or Evelyn or Eminence..

"Good to finally have found you three.." The girl he was now convinced to be Eminence said before leaning into him with an elbow propped up on his shoulder.

"Oh yeah! Hey, Emi, making all sorts of friends?" Ambrose asked

"This is Hazel and Afra," she replied motioning her free arm, first to the girl with messy pigtails spun from gold and then the white haired girl. Ambrose had a sudden craving for dragon fruit now that he couldn't explain but shrugged off.

"They’re part of her team," Eminence said giving a nod towards Delaney, Ambrose noticed that Midnight wasn't beside her anymore and after a quick sweep of the tent she was nowhere to be seen so he figured she slipped off to find her dorm at some point.

"Nice to meet'cha, I'm Ambrose." he said extending his hand out to his classmates, "Want to get in on some darts? I'm not a sore winner!"

Azurra stepped back little by little at first, but when Cinder leaped out of the gaping hole Ochre had left she decided safety came second to making sure she didn't get outclassed by any of the brazen moves her brunette companion made.

Azurra took a deep breath and let herself fall backwards, it was a strange sensation trying not to freak out while the ground shifted and slipped away from her feet. Cinder was a good ways down already, giving off bursts of white smoke or steam to slow her descent which the cerulean had to regard with admiration, it never ceased to amaze her how many things Cinder could pull off with a little dust. Azurra often wondered what would happen if she ever got her hands on a whole lot of dust..

Azurra whistled through the air at a good clip, the umbrella the tree's formed rushing up to meet her and right before she hit the treetops she hit the retract, causing Thorne to slammed to a jarring stop before the anchored spike wrenched free and came reeling back home.

The uninitiated would have easily been tossed aside by Thorne then. But she wasn't of the uninitiated, not anymore.

Azurra tumbled down into a tree's limbs, for a moment it was chaos, but she slammed Thorne down into a thick branch and swung hard, trying to redirect as much momentum as possible, until the spikes lost their grip and she was thrown sideways. She hit the ground, feet first luckily, and skidded a short ways before stopping somewhere in the midst of the forest.

"Ochre! Where did you wind up?" She called out to the woods, she waited a few moments but the woods decided not to answer so she started wandering around shouting for Ochre.

Out of the blue Azurra was hit with a strange feeling of deja-vu, this was a lot like the day she met Cinder she realized. She also realized that was the day she let her guard down and got jumped by two Ursas! Azurra span around with Thorne baring it's teeth.

" Thanks...I'm sure I'll find them soon" midnight said as she then wondered around until she finally found the dorm rooms. Now all i have to do is find my team She thought to her self as she looked around, still a little tired.

Ochre was deep in the mass of greens and browns, surrounded by the blank colors of trees, leaves, and grasses. He was already so tired... He hadn't realized how much the last fight had taken out of him. He stumbled his way through the woods, eyes glazing over, causing everything to become slightly blurry.

Ochre sighed, and decided to let himself rest. The others would come soon enough... His only problem would be Grimm. It was getting quite late, so, more Grimm were roaming. He would just have to sleep with one eye open. Ochre looked around him, taking note of a Beowolf that wasn't too far from him. Otherwise, everything seemed-

Ochre's thoughts were cut off by a severe pain in his back. Ochre found himself flying through the air, slamming into a tree a few seconds later. Ochre's eyes squinted shut at the pain. Ochre managed to open an eye, just to see a Ursa charging him. His eyes widened, a million thoughts racing through his mind.

Everything after that was a haze. Ochre felt his foot connect with the Ursa's skull. Ochre began twitching, his eyes darting from tree to tree. Ochre's insane eyes eventually rested on the Ursa, who had connected with a tree, knocking it down instantly. Ochre looked to his right, just in time to catch a Beowolf's fist, mid-swing. He'd never pushed his Semblance this far... Hell, he'd barely ever been in a full-scale fight before! Ochre sent the Beowolf into a tree behind him, before collapsing to his knees, and gripping his shattered wrist. The Ursa was back up. Ochre's eyes glared up at the Ursa, who was currently charging at him. His glare stayed cold. His semblance was gone. Aura shattered. Whet broken. He had no defense.

Ochre was relying on his teammates. They were his only hope.
