Fantasy The Underground

"Yes yes, it has to be him. He's the only one who fits the description she gave us." They giggled and nodded at the wraith. Happy that he could understand him. "The one with the snowy hair and lust red eyes. Although she described him as so much younger and smaller. Not some old man." They fluttered near his face to examine him more and closer to the wraith now that they felt more at ease.

"I'm not that old!" He protested. By now he was starting to get the idea of what they were talking about.

"I think she wants to see him, but how are we to get him back? If we even can? The Underground is not as kind to humans as it used to be right shadow walker? Not to mention this one is now as stubborn as a mule."

@Aridis

And then another thing came to light.

They were talking about the freaking Grand Fairy. "The Great Lady of the Forest" was the god damn Grand Fairy. He hadn't ever seen her before, but since the humans had become more dangerous, there had been a lot of talk about someone like her. Of course, it would've been easy enough to write her off as a rumor. However, Atlas had learned to not take myths lightly; as he was kind of one himself.

Crossing his arms over his chest, the Wraith tried to think of something. It was true that it would be difficult to get Sisceal back into the Underground. Even if Atlas said he was okay, the guards at the entrance would no doubt be difficult; as well as any citizen inside who recognized the Priest as a mundane creature. Plus, there was always the whole Order deal. They were still out there, and it was only a matter of time before the duo was found again.

His gaze eventually fell on the male in front of him. Not any of the fairies that were hovering close to him, but directly on the human. "Sisceal, would you be okay with going back? I mean, I still intend on getting you home in one piece. But, if we were to go meet with this lady, would you be alright with it? I don't want to force you to go anywhere."

@Axel1313

'Screw fiances. Screw stupid marriages and responsibilities...' Even though he didn't say those words out loud, they were practically screaming in his head.

Don't get the wrong idea, Vytas didn't exactly hate the woman that his brother was to be married to. She was relatively nice. But, he was a pretty selfish kid. And sharing wasn't exactly on his to-do list when it came to anything. Especially when it came to family members. While Austere probably wouldn't abandon him entirely, just the thought of it made him want to scream until his vocal cords bled.

He would be almost completely alone, left with a few overprotective guards and staff. Up until he was old enough to actually "make decisions for himself," Vytas would be stuck in a whole new prison.

The boy shoved his hands into his pockets, and only kept moving forward. At this point, he didn't really care if anyone was following. If they fell behind, then that was their own fault.

"I cannot wait to see how this works human." she folded her arms gently over her delicate frame. It was a curiosity as to where he had gotten unicorn blood. It was something so...rare and difficult to aquire. It made her question this man even more than she had before.

@zCrookedz

((@Beowulf ))

"Uh....lady? I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about." He scratched the side of his head in confusion. "I guess I wouldn't object to going back. But I honestly don't know if I should."

"Don't worry If you can't make him shadow walker. He has no choice, we'll take him ourselves. The lady told us to. Seeing as he was supposed to return years ago." one of the fairies giggled rather menacingly.

@Aridis

"Okay... Excuse me?"

He just kind of went from 'concerned fellow freak' to 'overprotective freak friend' in the matter of a millisecond. It might've just been the fact that he had recently consumed a human soul, but Atlas' eyes were kind of glowing a bit red. Or, at the very least, they were a lot closer to a ruby color than they were their neutral golden shade. Glaring down at the little flitting twerps that were supposed to be little tinkling balls of happiness and glitter, he took a small step closer. "Sorry, for a second it sounded like you guys are trying to pull something shady. And believe me, I know shady." He was a fudge mothering shadow fae, shade was his life.

"You know what...? Oh second thought, I think that we should get you straight home, Sisceal. We can save the field trip to the Underground for another, safer, day." Was he crossing the will of some stupidly powerful entity? Probably. Did he care? Not really.

@Axel1313

"Do not make a grave mistake now shadow walker." One of the fairies hissed at him and flew in front of Sisceal's face. "I can assure you we mean no ill will with this one. His mother simply wishes to see him and discuss some long forgotten things. And of course this new smell on him...." The frowned as they examined the poor man. "He smells...more like a dark creature now, but still a bit like fae."

"Ummm...I've got no idea what is going on right now...But I wouldn't mind going home." He tried to sit up, but the small creatures kept him pinned to the chair somehow.

"If it makes you feel better, would you like to join shadow walker? Our lady is in the kings palace as we speak. A place many folk dream of laying eyes upon. And we may need one who can speak and reason with the king and his guards better. As you know how he is anymore."

@Aridis @Beowulf @zCrookedz

A scowl snaked its way across his face. Even though their claims sounded fairly innocent now, there was a feeling in his stomach that was beginning to say otherwise. The boy held out a hand in Sisceal's direction, silently offering to help him stand. "Come on, we still have a little while until we can't use the shadows anymore. I'd honestly prefer it if we left while I still have access to them, just in case."

And just for a moment, he turned his attention back to the smaller fae. "In all honesty, I'd like to check myself before going along with whatever you guys say. No offense, but I'm having a bit of a hard time trusting you so far."

@Axel1313

Silver smiled as Marius mentioned his bosses' house, and she smiled. "Well that's reassuring." she said calmly as she made his drink, making sure to drop a little something extra in there to help with the hangover. She held her tongue on mentioning the fact that she had gone home to her cruddy bed with uncomfortable springs and got little sleep. "I expected you actually. Considering how I had to drag you all the way back to his house because you could barely stand, I figured a good morning cup of coffee would be your pick. Most people do pick coffee. That's why we get customers." She said, sliding his drink to him.

"The closest Fae run facility that I could think of off the bat, the order burned down and erased from the city over a year ago," Penelope angrily took a swig of coffee after what she stated. Looking down at the tablet, Penelope noticed that the tracker finally pinpointed a place and a yellow light signifying that the tracker was still on sparked light to a track record as soon as Penelope's finger tips grazed the screen. Placing her mug down, Penelope clicked on the record and scrolled through the pre-set bi-hourly updates. With a an unnatural smile due to her face not having to form one in years, Penelope ran out of the room yelling as she quickly changed into fresh clothes, her old fake eye (the bright red one with out a pupil or iris or anything just a solid color, and came back still brushing her hair. "We have good news though, I planted a tracker on the human friend of that Wraith and thank god I did. According to the track record they still been in the same position as last night, a place just on the outskirts of the city (I think? I don't quite remember where you said the medic was) so they should still be there..." Penelope paused, tossing her brush to the side and began lacing her combat boots back up, "The last update was about twenty minutes ago and I think we all know what that means."

@zCrookedz @Beowulf

"He's going with us." Another hissed and snapped at the wraith's hand as he reached out to help the poor man. The others tossed dust in his face to try and take him under their spell...not much luck seeing as he had now become more like one of them. It made him more dizzy and out of it than anything. "Such are the orders of the grand fairy! If you have any complaints I suggest you take it up with her. Or maybe even King Gareth."

@Aridis

"Vytas! Wait up!" Austere said worriedly as his brother rushed ahead. "Come on Buras and friend of Vytas. We can't let him get too far ahead of us...he really doesn't know what it's like up there." He bit his fingernails nervously. He was also afraid that he had upset his brother. It was always a touchy subject between them, especially since it was not his choice.

@Aridis @Hoki @Beowulf

"Well if either of them have any complaints, then I will gladly take the punishment. For now, you can buzz off!" Despite the risk of losing a finger, he reached out to the man. The Wraith managed to wrap his hand around the other's wrist, and he attempted to pull him out of the chair. "Come on, dude. I've just about had enough of crazy things for one day."

@Axel1313

"Hmmm..." he rumbled as he watched the silver unicorn blood be poured into the jar with his draconite stone. He would get that back, and an amulet seemed as good a thing to keep it in as anything else. "When and where will this ritual be taking place?" he asked. The combined might of his and Una's magical and physical power would no doubt have little trouble against the witch doctor if things went ary, but you could never be to safe with things like these.

((@zCrookedz @Axel1313))

A wide grin slowly crawled across Connor's face. Excellent, they knew where they were. Perhaps now he could use his arsenal the way it was supposed to be used, for a right good romp. For him, of course. Others might not think it the same as him, but he couldn't care less. He had two massive weapons in two bags respectively, a missile launcher of some kind that even he didn't know what it did, and the good old six barreled rotating minigun, with their ammo in the correct bags with assorted goodies, although they only had one or two clips to make room for the real fun. "Can I shoot this place up?" he asked as he scanned the room for his bags.

((@rosamortelle @zCrookedz))

"Right you are, your Highness." he said, cutting his conversation off. Hurrying ahead, he intersepts the excited Vytas and casually puts himself bodily in front of the younger prince. "We'll get there in good time. Be patient. The Outside is not going anywhere." he said as he once again took the lead and using his giant vision to keep a tab on the young prince.

Originally based at the back of the pack, the redhead acted on his own accord; jogging forward and past Austere, he reached the youngest Prince - unfortunately, Buras got there first. Oh well.

Shion put a hand on Vytas' shoulder, wearing a cheerful smile on his face. "Come on," he encouraged, hoping to raise the boy's spirits, "when we get up there, I'll buy you a special treat if you want! And show you and your brother around too, if either of you don't mind."

Did he mention that he was out of place? Because he really, really was.

@Axel1313 @Aridis @Beowulf

It wasn't his intention to slow down. He had actually tried to tune everyone else out, and focus on just getting out of the Underground. However, a collection of things had immediately snapped him out of it. First being his brother, calling out to him. Second was Buras, because he just kind of randomly popped up in the boy's field of vision. And if those first two things hadn't done the job, then Shion's offer definitely would've done it.

His eyes lit up at the mention of getting a souvenir. If he was going to be stuck in the castle for quite a while after this, then it would be cool to have something to remind him that he finally managed to achieve something. Vytas' gaze immediately shot up to the demon's face. A large, goofy grin appeared on his expression for a split second. "Really?!"

Because Shion wasn't his only chaperone in this situation, the raven immediately turned toward his elder sibling; basically just silently asking if all of this was okay.

@Hoki @Beowulf @Axel1313

"I here ya...I'm tired of this craziness too." Sisceal gladly pushed past the fairies to take the wraith's hand just so he could get up. Wobbly at first, but he got up.

"No! He is to return with us! The Lady must speak with him!" They all hissed and attacked the wraith's hand. "He is hers! By adoption and contract."

@Aridis

As soon as he caught up with them he offered a sweet smile and nod to his brother and the demon. "That sounds quite lovely. You do not have to do such a thing though. I would be happy to pay for whatever you both wish to do. I believe father set up a human banking account for me years ago....just in case we ever wished to return or happened to get stuck there."

@Axel1313
"Thank you." He smiled warmly. As soon as he tasted the coffee he smiled. She remembered, it was rather sweet. "I didn't expect you though, in all honesty, I was only looking for a good cup of coffee, but it looks like I found something much sweeter." He chuckled sheepishly. "Remind me to tip you everything in my wallet too. It's the least I can do for your help last night."

@IceQueen

Silver smiled and she shook her head. "You don't have to tip me everything. Consider it a extension of first time friendship." She said, feeling her mood lighten a bit as she leaned on the counter. She couldn't lie, she would need that big tip, but she couldn't take all of his money in one go. Sure, she didn't object to the scum bags who did it, she didn't have a problem robbing them dry. This guy, however, had earned a bit of a soft spot in her heart, and she couldn't take all of his money at once.

@Axel1313

"No no, I feel the need to. I put you through a lot yesterday...and stunk horribly." He chuckled. Taking the entirety of cash out of his wallet and stuffing it into the tip jar with her name on it. "And it would be terrible to be really cheap after you saw a bit of how nice my boss's place is yesterday."

@IceQueen

Silver looked at the large wad of cash he had shoved into her tip jar, swallowing. That was a lot of cash, decently enough to pay for her rent, or possibly by her a new mattress. "Thanks a lot...." She said, her heart pounding as she looked at the money. "But you seriously didn't have too. You earned that cash, and certainly you need some of it." She said, taking a glance back at him.

@Axel1313

Okay, ow. Ow. FREAKING OW. Who knew that fairy bites could hurt so much? Because, up until this moment, he would've thought they they would feel like little pinches. Not a smaller version of a goddamn shark bite! Grinding his teeth together, Atlas tried to wave them away from his now injured hand. "Knock it off!"

He kept a firm grasp on the elder's hand as he darted towards the door. While Sisceal could probably manage on his own, the Wraith didn't want to lose the guy if the fairies somehow managed enough collective strength to pick him up and drag him away. "Come on!" Having been in this hospital a good couple of times before, he was able to not get immediately lost. And, soon, the duo was on their way toward the entrance.

@Axel1313

"Aaaah it's nothing at all. That's just pocket change I got for babysitting my boss's kid a few weeks ago. I've got plenty more stashed away in the bank." He smirked and took another sip of his coffee. "And despite what you think, I'm not one for terribly expensive things. I prefer the simpler stuff in life."

@IceQueen

"Get back here!!" They hissed and chased after the two. Sisceal was so happy to be out of there...he didn't know what was going on, but he didn't like the tone of those creatures. Or that they had bitten Atlas.

"Where to now eh? As far away from those things as possible?" He followed as quickly as his legs would take him.

@Aridis @zCrookedz @Beowulf

He looked behind them every so often, just to see if the flying rats were still after them. And, unfortunately, they were.

Atlas tried to wrack his brain for a plan. They didn't have much time before the shadows became more or less useless; two hours at the very latest. That might've seemed like a long time for most people. However, they now how two threats on their tails. One more serious than the other, but they would no doubt need to alter their course a couple of times before being able to arrive safely to their destination: Sisceal's home.

That being said, they probably didn't have much time until the human threats caught up, either. While he hadn't seen them pin a tracker or anything similar on either of them, that freaky Camelia lady had some sort of means to find them in the first place. She definitely hadn't been there right when they had emerged from the Underground, so the Order most likely had some sort of radar system that was able to pinpoint where fae were. That, or she had made an extremely accurate guess.

Which was unlikely, because she had dragged Sisceal along for the ride, and not just Atlas.

"I don't know." He admitted. "But... yeah. Far from those little FLYING ROACHES--" Yes, he had to yell that loud enough for the fairies to hear, shut up "--sounds like a pretty good idea. If anything, I want to lose them before getting you home. I don't want them figuring out where you live, and dragging you off to God knows where while I'm not in the picture."

@Axel1313

Lucas lifted Jimbos head from the table and placed it back into the bag before he could start making rude gestures towards the Grand Fairy. As he finished packing away the rest of his things he lifted the bag and placed it back on his shoulder before turning back to the king and the fairy.

"Ah the amulet and the stone will be combined within a week I think. The ritual for the the Loa, well that I will have to begin immediately before they sense anything out of the ordinary. These particular Loa are not the easiest to work with and if they find out I need their help, they may make themselves sparse for quite a while."

Of course this was not all untruthful. Should the Loa find out what Lucas was planning they would become harder to capture. But they would not run from him. On the contrary, one in particular hated Lucas very much and that would not be a fun encounter.

@Axel1313 @Beowulf

Black tilted the coffee cup back as far as it would go and downed the last of the coffee as Connor began to ask about having his fun when they caught up with the Wraith and the Human. He too stood from his seat and replaced the folded up sniper rifle on his back and pulled at his shirt a bit before pulling out his pack of cigarettes and flipping the lid.

"Wait till we get one of them so they can lead us to the entrance Connor. then they are all yours buddy."

Black pulled out a cigarette and stuck it between his lips. He flipped his lighter, lit the smoke, then put it back in his pocket as he made his way to the door to Vasicles apartment. He opened the door and looked back to the other two, a slight smile as he inhaled.

"Ready to go hunting?"
