Fantasy The Underground

(@zCrookedz , I'm sorry, but this will be your final warning for responding as we plan on moving on ahead whether you post for your characters or not...It's moving on to 3 weeks now and you were tagged multiple times and gave no answers at all.)

"Well, here it is. Make yourself at home." He smiled softly as he flicked the lights on. A dim light filled the small room. It looked like an old library, worn, unorganized, books stacked all around but at least it was comfortable. "You relax and I'll get ta makin those lemon squares okay? Maybe a cup of coffee or hot chocolate to help warm ye till they're done." His smile was a sweet as can be as he took off the dirty stained robes and headed into his room to change in to something more comfortable.

@Aridis

"If you insist." She laughed softly. Standing up from her seat to give him a gentle pat on the head. "I will be wandering about the castle for a while. Catching up with how everyone has been." Her silken robes flowed like stream behind her. "I only hope you do not mind if I have a guest over, or maybe I should ask if your sons do not mind?"

@Beowulf

"Right, I...I trust you Buras." He looked up to him with a faint smile and nodded. Then rushed ahead a bit to keep tabs on his younger brother. As lon as he was in sight Austere felt more relaxed and relieved. It was nice seeing his brother so happy and enthusiastic. Certainly a well needed change of pace from the droll life in the palace.

A small black ball floated in the streets of The underground slowly bobbing as if it was floating in water. It floated in and out of the streets and allies slowly making its way towards the castle. Once it had reached the front gate, it simply phased through it like a shadow passes in the sun. It continued on its merry way slowly bobbing into the doors and walls until if finally found its intended target. It slowly hovered before the king in whatever chamber he was in until it began to glow with a purple light.

There was a small pop and then what sounded like an old style recorder began to play from the orb

"Are we good Jim? Good. Eh-hem. Bonjor my leige, sorry to come to you in such an impersonal way, but events have arisen that are less than preferable. It would seem that when I exited The Underground, I had a less than desirable welcoming party. The Loa had found out about my plan and had sent a few of their Petro Loa to bring me down. However in the struggle, I was able to capture the final 2 pieces of the plan and secure them in the amulet. The Amulet will let you keep The Underground safe, but be warned, it hold a single use. After that, the Loa inside will be reals ed back to the spirit world and your gem will return to normal. As for Jimbo and myself, we are going to make ourselves scarce before the Loa are able to track us down. Aur revoir mon seigneur. Oh and you still need to get that loophole fixed, can't have magical items just floating into the castle ."

The little black orb once again d8mmed and then floated over to a table nearest. It burst like a bubble and with a clunk the amulet dropped to the table.

Black was just about to fling the door open to the car when a buzzing noise went off in his pocket. He reached into his pocket and fished out another prepaid phone which he flipped open and placed against his head.

"Black.........yes sir...........yes sir...........I understand sir...........I will be there."

With that Black grabbed the phone in both hands and snapped it in half at the joint. Tossing it into a bin it burst into flames as he tossed the keys back towards Vascile.

"Change of plans. I'm being pulled from the field. Internal affairs wants me to report to HQ. Something about liability, sounded all legal. But they should be sending a replacment for me"

Out of no where a black car rounded the corner of the apartment and pulled up on the other side of the street. Black saluted the two and the strode across the street climbing into the car. The car pulled off the sidewalk rounding the corner out of sight.

The boy blinked as he looked around. The place was messy, sure. But, if anything, the unkemptness of the room just seemed to add to the comfort of it. To him, a pristine, organized home seemed to take away the "home" factor of it. It would just seem like nobody lived there, and that nobody was supposed to live there; only gaze at the perfectness of the layout and the lack of a single speck of dust. On the other side of the spectrum, a home with mismatched furniture and an unorganized shelf and desk seemed a little more realistic. There was evidence that it was perfectly fine to live in. So, Atlas immediately liked the place.

Grinning at Sisceal's words, he nodded. "Okay, that would be awesome. If its not any trouble, I mean. I wouldn't hold it against you if you wanted to keep all of the lemon squares for yourself."

"Yeah yeah whatever. Now get lost pipsqueak. I'm driving." A deep, gruff voice grumbled. It came from a massive man who stood like a mountain hovering over the car. He had no qualms and no issues intercepting the keys midair and shoving the agent they were tossed to aside. Scoffing as the guy got in a car and sped off for some 'liability issue.' Bah, he was nothing but a coward and a fraud anyway. Couldn't even handle the one, simple little task of keeping tabs on a pair of captured fae. Hell! He couldn't even handle a fellow agent! And he called himself a 'star agent?' Anton nearly laughed out loud at the thought of it. But there were other matters at hand. He stopped to cross his arms over his chest and stare down the other two. Analyzing them thoroughly. "I was sent here by The Order to assist you. After they got word of that little incident that happened in the apartments they sent for me. A professional. To help you all get the job done and keep some wild one in line. I don't think I need to explain myself anymore than that right now. Are we all clear?"

@rosamortelle @Beowulf

God he was bad at this... Playing tour guide for a Prince with no prior experience whatsoever of the outside world - and partially to a currently and mildly panicked elder Prince, who stuck closely to his guard - wasn't the easiest thing to do. Shion would continue to uphold his smile, gesturing to a swing set. "Hey, Vytas," he called to, looking over at the raven haired male, "Wanna try that?"

There wasn't much waiting that he did for a response, sort of jogging towards the set without being told to. He felt that he was still a child after all, and it had been a while since he was last on the surface. Three swings hung from the metal beam, the Raiju plopping down in the one on the far left. He grasped the chains in his hands, rattling the seat in anticipation. "It'll be fun," the redhead encouraged, "Austere can join us too if he wants!"

Hopefully this wouldn't all end in a bust...

@Aridis @Axel1313 @Beowulf

"Well well well, I asked for a replacement of a wimpy small job shot, and what do they send me? Not just a son of a b*tch, no they sent me The son of a b*tch," Penelope's tone was completely void of emotion sending a cold vibe towards Agent Poarta. Of course she probably shouldn't have started out with that as her welcome, but that was just a common greeting between herself and Anton. Both had worked well over a fair amount of years with the Order and they both shared a mutual hate towards faes, yet that hate could also be consdier to spread out to each other. If it were any other situation Penelope would've made another snarky remark but she too knew that it was time to get serious and taunting Anton would only make things worse, especially since she needed to start acting like the head of an organization and not just an agent. "If you're referring to the 'incident' you can direct that attention to your knew trigger happy child in the backseat and the fool who just drove away. Oh and we're calling you a professional now are we? Last time I checked you were still an ameteur in my eyes." Penelope casually turned away from Anton and climbed into the front passenger seat before looking back with mocking eyes. "Anywho I'm ready if you are Poarta, oh and Connor say hello to your new babysitter."

He knew what a swingset was. It wasn't like the Underground was deprived of anything modern; the raven used to play on them all the time during the first couple of years of him sneaking out of the castle's grounds. Still, that didn't mean that he wasn't excited as shiz to try out the one up here. There wasn't a hope that it would do something different, it was more of a thing where it seemed more interesting than it was because they were in unfamiliar territory.

Nodding excitedly, Vytas darted over to the swings and hopped onto an unoccupied one. Already knowing how to manipulate his momentum in order to gain some height, he started doing the fancy leg swinging stuff in order to do so.

"Oh don't worry at all! I'm not as young as I used to be, so I've gotta make sure to hold off on the sweets." He chuckled. Tying an apron around his waist as he walked into the kitchen. "Make yourself at home! Kick off your shoes, read anything you like, look around. I've got nothing ta hide and it's not like you could make this place any messier than it already is." He laughter rang out from the kitchen again. As well as the clanking of pots and pans as he prepared the food.

It didn't take him long at all to get it all together and popped into the oven to cook. The smell of it already began filling the apartment.

@Aridis

"Penelope." Anton nodded in acknowledgement of her...greeting. If you could even call it that. He had almost forgotten just how much they tended to clash. At least there seemed to be some mutual respect for each other's skills as always when they worked on cases together. Unfortunately he was going to have to show more to her now that she was the head of the Order. That really got his goat, but there was no arguing against the decision. Not when she had control of his paycheck and job altogether. "Be happy they sent me instead of another rookie. You know I have so many years and successes under my belt that I'm far beyond qualified for the title professional." He grumbled, glancing to the back seat at the other with him. He seemed a little wild, but nothing he couldn't manage. Least he was somebody who could get the job done. Of course he could feel an ache in his bank account already from the imminent collateral damage. "All I'm gonna ask is try and keep the damage minimal okay kid? Now, tell me where to Penelope." Cranking the car into gear he sped off with screeching tires into the street.

@rosamortelle @Beowulf

"But the commander said she wanted to see an explosion." he said innocently as he put the missile in it's launcher. "So be a dear and find my grenade launcher. I'm certain I packed it." Goody, a different one again. That had to be a record for him in some way. Three in two days? That was just unheard of. Guess they couldn't handle the level of fun he brought to their grey little lives. But he was still at an impasse, what gun to use? Screw it, he'll just try and use them all, let them all get out and stretch their legs, let their voices be heard and throw things around. They needed their exercise.

((@Axel1313 @rosamortelle ))

"Go find Uno. She would like to hear about this." Gareth said, once more in his humanoid form and clothed and sitting atop his throne with the amulet in his hands. One use, that's all he got. That human had forgotten to mention what exactly it would do, but that was a bridge to cross once he got there. The salvation of the Underground, and perhaps the rest of the Sanctuaries, was lying in his hands. And he couldn't decide whether to use it now or to save it for a crisis. At least he had his gem back. It might not be in his head, but being in his hands was good enough.

"Is that a challenge?" Atlas chuckled. He wasn't going to pry around the elder's home. As much of a little shit as he may be, the boy at least remembered what guest manners were. Not wanting to bring in any dirt or beautiful messes like that, he took off his shoes and neatly placed them next to the door. And, after that, the raven just kind of stood around awkwardly.

He would only take a few steps every so often in order to reach some different part of the apartment, and to catch a quick glimpse of a cover of a book or something.

@Axel1313

"Well, nothing to hide that you're going to find lying around my apartment." He laughed. Walking back in with a cup of hot chocolate and setting it on the side table. "Here, something ta hold ya over til the food is done. Should be in a few minutes." Letting out a heavy sigh he plopped down in the dusty leather arm chair. The poor piece of furniture had definitely seen better days, but at least it was at that right level of broken in now. Dusting the hair out of his face he relaxed back into it. "Oooh does it feel so nice ta finally rest properly. I'm definitely gonna sleep like a log tonight."

@Aridis ((@rosamortelle @Beowulf ))

"I have been told something has happened?" Her face was twisted into one of disappointment and disgust as she reentered the throne room. She had not expected to have been called back so early. "And here I thought that the humans had changed more. How disappointing.I've seen feral beasts with more courage and loyalty." She shook her head as her eyes traveled to the amulet. "At least you have gotten your stone back. Not what to do with it? It seems rather useless now that we were led on so blindly as to what it's use and function is exactly."

@Beowulf

Austere was not far behind his brother and his demon friend. He felt like he was going to faint, but at least Vytas was happy. That and the park was empty at this time. Something that greatly helped to keep him more calm. With an unsure smile he crept forward and ran his hand along the metal support bars of the swing set and then down the chains of one of the swings as he took a seat.

@Aridis @Hoki @Beowulf

Swinging back and forth, back and forth, Shion was grinning at Vytas as the two had a battle of swinging prowess. It had really been a while since he had last done something like this, and it was great to be doing it again. He wasn't one with a lot of money or funding, but the demon was greatly considering getting an apartment out here again. Things were fine and dandy for a while, just the two reaching considerable heights and such when, lo and behold, Austere sat down.

The redhead slowed his climb - also ensuring victory for Vytas - and shifted his grip on the chains. Tilting his head slightly, Shion couldn't help but look at the elder prince and smile softly, continuing to swing but at a steadier pace. "At least the air is nice, right?" he tried at conversation, leaning back into the rise of the next swing, "For me, it's a nice change from that of the Underground."

Atteeeeeeempts were, hopefully, not futile.

@Axel1313 @Aridis @Beowulf

He gratefully took the mug, and just let it warm his hands for a couple of seconds before officially taking a sip. It could've been the most crappy and watered-down cup of hot chocolate that he had ever tasted, and he still would've loved it. Was it bad that this was his first cup of hot coco in...years? That was bad, right? Extremely? Or only a little bit? Ew, questions.

Snickering, Atlas shifted his weight to his good leg; seemingly preferring to stand than to get too comfortable. "A log, eh? Welp, I hope you don't get termites. I hear they suck."

@Axel1313

You know that flying feeling that you get when you close your eyes whilst on a swing? Yeah, he was experiencing something similar to that; only his eyes weren't exactly closed.

Vytas was almost leaning too far back as he stared up at the sky. Due to the excessive amount of lights that the city produced, there weren't too many stars out; and the sky was a little more orange-ish gray than it was pitch black. Still, he enjoyed the sight. It was... different. And, so far, different had yet to be a bad thing for him. At this rate, the hour was going to zip by at a ridiculous speed. But, the young Prince didn't seem to be too concerned about that at the moment.

@Axel @Hoki @Beowulf

"Two somethings." Gareth said, putting the amulet around his neck. "The first being this. The kind doctor forgot to mention what exactly it does. I do not know if it's a lingering effect or gone in a flash. He did mention that we only get one use out of it, so we need to formulate a plan for when we do have to use this. And secondly, perhaps the more pressing of the two issues, my boys are missing. This is a big castle, so I'm asking you first before I start to panic. Have you seen them?"

((@Axel1313))

Buras stood guard, his height letting him peer a long way down the roads and alley ways. The time was coming to an end, and he figured that he could have them pay a visit to a certain little spider before heading back into the Underground. She didn't get to many visitors, and having royalty stop by will probably increase the patronage she gets.

"Ah haha. well aren't you a funny one." Sisceal laughed as he kicked his feet up on the coffee table. Shoving a few old papers and some pictures he had laying about. He really needed to get to scrapbooking those some day...or at least putting them in a frame and on the shelves. Last thing he wanted was to have to replace the glass on his daughter's photo again... "I bet ya I'd be so out of it that I wouldn't even notice them till I was dust anyway." A rather loud laugh rang out from him.

@Aridis

It took a few minutes of awkward silence, but eventually the young prince finally spoke up."Y..yeah. The air out here is even sweeter and more fresh than in the castle gardens." He slowly swung his legs back and forth to move the swing. "I never realized how stuffy it can get down in the Underground. I supposed that comes from years of living nowhere else." A soft laugh escaped his lips. Slowly but surely he was beginning to enjoy himself. He turned his head to look back at Buras.

"Buras, you seem lost in your thoughts. What is it that is rattling around your mind?"

@Hoki @Aridis @Beowulf (@rosamortelle )

"Or if any sacrifices are needed or what the effects will even look like." Her lips pursed in annoyance. "We shall figure out a plan in due time I suppose. Sadly it seems keeping most humans out is becoming inescapable...I have yet to see a very trustworthy one for years now." She sighed delicately and crossed her arms over her chest. Her head tilted to the side curiously at his second question. "I am sorry Gareth but I have seen nor heard anything from your sons. I wished to speak to them as well and see how they've been doing, but...oddly not even any guards or servants have seen them in quite a while now.

@Beowulf

((Not sure where Rosa is at the moment, so we may be able to at least advance with a few characters for a bit.))

Smirking, the raven--careful not to spill his drink-- performed a very dramatic bow in Sisceal's direction. He even did the little fancy hand flourish that he had seen street performers pull off. "Why thank you, my good sir. As the Royal Comedian of the Underground, I try my best to entertain in the most humorous of ways."

(Holy fudge my posts are getting short)

@Axel1313

((I'll wait a bit for @Hoki To respond too. It's been over a week since I've seen Rosa, so we'll move on a bit. Maybe toss in some drama with the princes, the demon and buras.))

Austere started a new conversation with the guard, but Shion didn't mind - if anything, he was just glad that the prince was finally starting to relax a bit. His attention was stolen by the cheerful Vytas, who just continued to swing higher and higher. The younger prince just kept smiling and smiling, grinning at the outdoor sky. Well, who could blame him, really?

Shion swung a bit more until he too was a widely swinging pendulum before his hands released the chains and his body left the seat. Wolves were not meant to fly, it was completely random and not in their design, but during that brief moment when the demon was airborne, it seemed rather fitting; his soft red hair was waved back, his arms were out to the side, bent at the elbows, and his legs were out in front of him. His sky eyes were wide with child-like excitement, glittering with the park's light before gravity took over and he landed on his feet, knees bent to absorb the impact.

@Aridis @Axel1313 @Beowulf

"Then first things first." Gareth said, surprisingly calm considering the news he has just received. "We must find my sons and make sure they are safe. Send those able to the Surface to search for them. The Royal Guard can commence searching throughout the entirety of the Underground. Order the Watch to do the same as well. A brief spike in crime is worth finding my sons. As for this amulet, I shall use it when I feel the time is right. If anything is to befall me, Una, I leave the throne in your care if you feel Austere is not yet ready to rule. I do hope that you'll teach him so he will become ready to rule, if that is the case."

@Axel1313

"Well, I was thinking of perhaps taking a small detour back to the Underground. A friend of mine runs a cafe on top of one of the few remaining stationary entrances to the Underground. I'll bet you having royalty stop by will do her business some good." And it no doubt would, in his mind at least. He'd even put up with the spiders if he had to.

@Axel1313 @Hoki @Aridis ((@rosamortelle ))

From the speed that he had stopped himself, one would've thought that his legs must've broken at one point or another. Vytas had slammed his feet against the ground, bringing his swinging session to a complete halt. The boy stared at Buras with such fear and urgency that for all they knew, he could've witnessed a murder or something. "No way!" The Prince protested. "You promised that I could stay up here for an hour! I don't wanna waste even a minute of that just to go back, we can visit your friend after!"

There was still so much he hadn't seen or done. There was an entire city at his disposal, and all they've hung around is a freaking park. Shion still had to get him a souvenir! Going back wasn't yet an option.

(Do it. Drama with the Princes, do it.)

@Axel1313 @Hoki @Beowulf

Sisceal laughed and took another sip of his hot chocolate. "My suggestion is. Don't quit your day job." He smiled teasingly as he pushed himself out of the old chair with a groan. The oven was beeping loudly to warn that the bars were finished. "Come on. Sounds like the food is done and there's nothing better than baked goods right out of the oven."

@Aridis

"As you wish Gareth dear. But there is no need to think in such a way yet. There may be another solution as well beside that amulet, seeing as we have no idea how it works." She crossed her arms over her chest. "I shall assist in finding your sons. I will send my fairies out to help look for them, but I am sure your sons are safe as can be. Austere is cautious enough and powerful enough to protect them, especially with a guard with them as well."

@Beowulf

The young prince turned to smile at Shion again as he began to swing higher, but unfortunately that did not last long. Austere frowned at his brother's comment. "Come on now Vytas. Buras went through the troubles of following us up here and making sure we are safe, don't you think it's only fair that he gets to see a friend of his?" He dug the heels of his tall boots into the wood chips. "He is only speaking of on our way back anyway, not going right now. Besides, wouldn't you like to try some of the human food up here if his friend serves it? I've never had any from this age...but I've heard rumors it is good from my fiancee."
