Fantasy The Summits

The albinos eyebrows rose with concern. "Relax.. I will not reason with someone who is not levelheaded enough to comprehend." She said slowly, accent thickening with longer words. She smirked when her crush on Babble became evident. Still, she was starting to feel too tired for this. "Take a deep breath and gather yourself, love."

"Vi, this one's you." Darman said backing away for Vi to come closer. Just as a precaution, he pushed past everyone to take a look outside. Nothing too out of place. A little wet. He ducked back in and sat at the entrance. This was turning out to be a fun little group. So many things gone wrong. Then again, they survived a plane crash. For a plane crash, this was amazing. The guards died but that's ok. So far, everyone is just torn apart by their own devices. Except Joey. Joey actually got impaled a little.

The scent of death had drawn her back to the makeshift camp. It was a simple nagging feeling easily ignored while she licked out the inside of the bag, the last of the seeds ground into her teeth to be shortly digested in her stomach but as they vanished and hunger pangs abated, there was something else she had to investigate.

One of the new people had a scent on him of her...her? No it was male. Tatt sniffs at the breeze, moving in close to the camp. There was also danger here. There was aggression in the air, leadership by force. Maybe a reason for her to come out of the shadows.

She steps in closer, quickly regretting not paying more attention as her foot is stuck with a sharp branch. It was going to be infection this time huh..another feverish death and the pain of her internal organs shutting down. Wonderful.

Limping in the mud, she moves even closer. Stalking in to watch a wait for a chance to gain something.

Vi almost frowned, or gave a slightly smaller smile. "Um.." limpness and muscle aches. well crap. "I can talk from here! My emotional powers over people isn't amplified with proximity." She joked. It was the building camps that got her. Her white limps felt stiff. She simply laughed.

Jenna looked at Vi, "I.. i....im sorry." She pouted a bit. "I really am." she looked around the tent, then back at Vi "I saw it, if we don't leave were all going to die! I swear, there's a big storm coming. The waters will rise above the beach and around the island there will be no escape except in the jungle, with the storm big meat eating creatures will come, ones that prey on anything smaller then them." She calmed down a bit and then looked Vi straight in the eyes "I know when there coming."

"Damn." Darman muttered. Vi does have a limit. He thought around all option and finally came into deciding. He leaned forward slightly to address the group. "We aren't moving anywhere. Half of us are worn out and the rest of us are injured or unstable." He started explaining in an objective commanding tone. "If we move, we'll lose someone. Nobody dies here. We'll wait here until we can get everyone moving in some form. Then we'll go to greener pastures." He stopped for a moment and took a look around. "Let the water come, we'll build something to keep us alfoat. As for the sea monsters, we'll fight as they come. We're superpowered human beings. What do we have to fear?"

Vi returned the looks, despite her care free smile and form of speech, her gaze was intense. "Okay, Gather the parachute canvas when everyones ready. We leave the frames, I can make more. Use the canvas as a makeshift bag so we don't lose our rations. Anyone disagree with my decision.. and," She noticed Darmans look and sighed. "I can move or help support anyone who cant. We need time to heal, but do you know when this might happen?" She didn't want to be seen as weak.

With her ears to the ground, Tatt could feel the vibrations from each word.

The leader was exuding confidence, the maternal figure was getting tired and the whiny fortune teller was making wild claims. Tatt had been on the island for nearly five cycles. The place was volcanic in origin, a lagoon forming over the tip of a dormant volcano. All this was stuff she learned in grade school come back to haunt her. Storms didn't raise up the ocean beyond the flood lines by the beach and the next storm to hit would probably come at low tide anyways. Tatt places her cheek further into the mud, trying to ignore the rain on her back.

This girl was going to get them killed if they followed her advice and feeling them move, they had half a chance at surviving with a strong leader at the helm. Maybe she'd reveal herself soon enough.

Jenna looked at him, "How can you fight something if its already swallowed you? They eat everything in there paths boats, walls, people. Anything!" She looked at him with seriousness in her eyes "If we don't leave, we all die!" Then willingly answering Vi's question she walked outside and drew numbers in the sand along with some but few words. 58 days 16 hours 40 seconds and 90 milliseconds.

"Thats how much time we have to find shelter away from the water and move everybody. Please listen to me! The water will rise and these creatures will come from god knows where and kill us."

Babble slowly sat up, his leg sore. there was a girl sitting next time him, probably the reason he had woken up.

"Where...What the hell's going on...?" His usual lost look on his face was ever present. The girl was yelling something about dying.

'You're gonna die with these people...' his mind taunted. "Shut up, I don't know that yet..." He mumbled.

He tried standing again. He put his hand on the girl's shoulder, she seemed familiar; the girl front he plane. he faced the group of people. "What the hell is going on?" He said louder.

404.1

Something churned inside her. A pang at watching souls being led astray. This was too much she had to act.

Stepping up and walking to the camp she calls out.

"Leader! Step out and speak to a native. Now. I wish to speak!"

Tony had edged away from the group, and was leaning against a tree watching them all. He didn't notice Tatt, too busy thinking to himself about something or other

Seth had stayed in the shadows, and if he had even been noticed, he hadn't been addressed. He had seen the blind one take seeds from the girl. Maybe if everyone worked together they would be safe. He took a deep breath and began walking towards the shelter, only to see the blind woman come out and address whoever their leader was. Here he stood between the shelter and the dangerous "native". He was in the line of fire and attention all of a sudden.

Jenna realized Babble was ok and almost on instinct she snapped out of her "Emotions" and looked at him "Babble! Your okay!" a huge smile lit up her face and her eyes began to sparkle. "Im so happy your alright!" and she stood up to look at the girl who requested to speak to the leader. "And who are you ?" Jenna asked curiously.

Luna hadn't noticed Tony next to her and was to busy trying to hide to care. She hated this, being feared. She was afraid of herself even. She once got so mad she ripped out the heart of one of the guards. She could never forget that day. She shuttered at the thought and kept her wings over her head, shifting a bit while she sat.

"I don't know about anyone else, but I was merged with a very volatile species of shrimp. Water doesn't scare me nor does anything in it." He motioned the girl back in the shelter. "We have time to move, but we all need rest first thing." Marching this many people would only worsen the situation. "This is what's going on. We're all going to sit here, and we're going to talk to eachother in a civil, non death inducing way. We're going to learn eachother. By the time we do that, we'll be ready to move. I don't like being in the open anyway." He looked about entirely serious. "We watch out for eachother here. We make decisions as a group. We survive, we adapt, we conquer. Nobody dies. Any questions?"

Darman was cut off by a rather rude voice outside the shelter. "Damn!" He yelled entirely frustrated. He motioned everyone to stay and turned out of the shelter quickly to face this voice. "What do you want?"

"I SAID I would speak to a leader, not a profligate. And you! Get out of the way!"

Tatt shouts loudly, tilting her ear to hear the one behind the other being. His voice held a tone of soldier. Someone to reason with.

"You. I need to speak with you. This is a matter of survival. I've seen dozens just like you die and this is how it starts."

"Morgen mein freund." She said to the white haired boy finally awaking. "How is your leg? Can I answer a question for you?" She looked at the "native" and smiled, noticing her limp. Her eyes returned to the white haired boy. "You are at a failed experiment waste land. You arrived via parachute. I pulled a metal rod from your leg, so it may be sore."

"Who are all these people?" Babble asked sitting next to Jenna again.

'These people are psychos' his mind announced. "Agreed..." this was new, he never agreed with his thoughts.

Jenna looked at Vi, "Lets hope hes alright, i hope that rod was clean." She said looking at Vi. Jena liked Vi there was this thing about her and she hopped they would become great friends heck even good friends would be enough for her when it came to Vi. It almost seemed like Vi was just an all around nice person but Jenna knew better. Theres an evil side to everyone and she chose not to find out Vi's.

"NOBODY IS GOING TO DIE." Darman yells pushing every ounce of air from his lungs just for that one exclamation. "You are welcome to leave at any time if you want to go on with that. But we will not die. State what you want or get the hell out of here." Darman felt his insanity jump near instantly. It was just on the brink of coming to full effect. There was no turning back, either the situation would improve, or people would in fact die.

Seth moved aside, trying not to interrupt, and moved into the shelter, to those who were awake he began to speak nervously. This would be the first conversation he had had in weeks.

"Hello, I-I've been watching for a little bit and I, uh, well, I want to try to help if that would be alright." Seth simply expected them to say no, based on his standing there, hands moving wildly, not to mention him stating that he had been watching. Worth a shot, I guess.

Jenna heard him yell, she still had no idea who he was but still. She got up and walked out of the shelter and looked at this girl confronting him "Back off, how about you go and do something other then pissing him off. I don't know him but i have a feeling it would not be smart to do that ."

"DON'T YOU DARE ASSUME THIS FAILURE! I COULD ASSURE DEATH TO YOU ALL!"

Tatt felt irrational anger swell inside her. This being thought he had the island figured out but he was just another one of the many left to die.

"They all say the same thing and I have their bones to stave off hunger now. Will you listen or will you die like the rest in your arrogance"

Jenna looked at the girl,"Your blind are you not?" She asked in a questioned tone, "I have this feeling, your scared that im either right or you know i might be wrong. The future can change at any time, i just know that on the path were currently on, something is going to happen. The one were on right now has to do with water and dinosaur like creatures. So im sorry if im wrong and im sorry if im right but you have no right to say anything."
