Fantasy The Misfits

"No i'm still new here I just came for my job, wait Jessica Portwood library," Danny said to his GPS system. "there that should do it." Danny started his car and started driving "So I guess you don't really like me but i really just want you to know that my job doesn't have me ask questions i just kill who i'm told to kill. I had no idea i was killing good people if i had actually killed you i would've killed myself as is custom for breaking a promise among my people even if the promise is to yourself. *sigh* When i saw you I was heartbroken because i thought i'd have to kill someone as beautiful as the goddess Aphrodite herself." Danny said sheepishly "I'm not trying to butter you up or anything but i just hope someday you can forgive me and maybe we could even be friends." Trying to have some fun Danny said. "Well hold on to your seat." Giving the gas all it could.

Cory could only take his rambling so much and at "heartbroken", she asked quietly, "Do you ever stop talking...?" As he kept going, she pulled the hood back up over her face and held it down in the wind. Guess not. Before he hit the gas, she'd replied, "I'm not a good person." She'd always liked the hum of a small, well cared for engine and couldn't help but let a minuscule smile show through her cold facade. "You like your car a lot... it likes you back, I can tell."

As they pulled up to the library, she moved to unbuckle her seat. The building was closed, had been for some hours, but it was her landmark for how to get home. "Take care of her, alright? -The car, I mean. They can run for longer than you think if they're looked after properly."

@Danny Blake

"Well i think you are." Danny said hearing her comment, and then his anxiety kicked in he dropped her off and said "Yeah, sure." Danny always had fun always got the ladies especially with his money, but this time it was different she just didn't like him and that's something he couldn't change so he did what he normally did and just picked up some random bimbo from the street. He thought for a while and reached the conclusion that meaningless sex wasn't going to help him "Jessica eject passenger." "What my name's not- AHHH." the girl said flying out the car and parachuting down. "Well i guess i'm not gonna have fun tonight." He sighed tears filling his eyes.

Leo was getting a headach again.  This whole thing was going to drive him insane!  After Danny and Cory left he took off his helmet.  He was still worried about Cory, but reminded himself that she could take care of herself.  Besides, he doubed Danny would attack her.  He might attack Leo, but that was another story.  He looked around, exhaustion finally setting in.  "We have bedding and food, though it isn't the most comfortable," Leo told Freya.  "We can begin work later  We have some time to plan our attack, though we both know we can't wait too long.  If another hero is kidnapped while we're not out there actively helping... I don't know what I'll do."  He paused for a moment as he stood up and streatched.  "You don't have to stay here if you don't want, but the doors open.  That reminds me."

Leo rummaged through some draws until he came up with something that looked like a slightly oversized flashdrive with it's cap on, though there was no place for this to plug into something.  He walked over and offered it to Freya.  "This will access all of the doors to this place.  If you need to find the nearest one, just press the button and the light will point to the nearest enterence to the old subway tunnels.  Keep it safe.  If you lose it, just tell me and I'll remotly shut it down."

(Is everyone ready for a time skip?  If you don't have a real post to pair with your answer, please respond in the OOC.)

"Thank you," Storm Maiden says as she accepts the device. She gives it a once-over, "Does it have a tracking feature? I think it would be a good idea to get Phoenix one of these too if that's the case."

(If it doesn't have a tracking feature she hands it back so Whiplash can add one.)

"As for someone getting kidnapped... I have a feeling you won't want to hear this, but it might create an opening we can exploit. Though, we'd have to know that it's happening the first place." she remarks as looks around, "I'll also be staying here, they probably already know what my civilian identity is anyways. I just hope they don't take this chance to ransack my base"

Above all she reminded herself that she needed to stay practical and realistic in this matter. See what the options were so she could best see how to go about doing things. Another lesson drilled into her by her mentor Galeforce. Though with that said, it was time to get some sleep. Letting out a yawn, she made her way into the corridors of the base, collapsing onto the first bed she found.

(Time skip go go go)

Cory ambles down the road from the library, hands in her pockets, the Module thumping against her back as it swings from her shoulder. The street lights glowed dimly and she thought about the guys who'd attacked her back in her home town. Then you burnt them to a crisp, she reminded herself with a small shudder. Gradually, the streetlights grew further and further apart until it was only one at each street corner. It became every other street corner, then Cory stopped at the last streetlight to glance back to the glowing city. "'Night Portwood." Continuing onward, she came to a winding road and then to a winding driveway until she stopped at a rather small house. The mailbox had her white cat painted on it, an addition they'd made upon first moving in. With the house so unassuming and far outside town, they never locked the doors and Cory stepped right in, taking her shoes off at the door. Over at the phone, the machine blinked with the message she'd left, every two blinks letting out a small beep. "Hey Mom, 'm home," she called into the darkness. "Hey Dad," she muttered on the way upstairs, a sad smile going to the picture on the wall. "Don't stay up too late, mhm? Love you..."

Heading up to her room, Cory let out a sigh of relief that everything was in order. She didn't know why it wouldn't be, but seeing something familiar was comforting. She took her shoes off and put the Module on the floor beside them, but other than that she had no energy to make herself ready for sleep. Her eyes roved to the mannequin in the corner with the beginnings of her next project pinned to it and then to the foam model of a helmet on her desk before falling forward into her bed.

(Skip skip woo!)

"It does have a tracking fature," Leo replied.  "Just better to disable it's other functions any way.  At least until we get it back.  It's true that going during a kdinapping could create an oprotunity, but we won't know when it's going to happen.  I say we plan on making our move for any given day, but create anothr for when there is a kidnapping and rush to action if we find one.  Anyway, I need a shower.  Help yourself to food and drink.  We have a few spare changes of cloths, though none spcifically for girls.  Sorry about that."  With that he walked over towards the bathroom and locked the door behind him

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------3 Days Later-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leo had snuck around the the back roads of the forest and found the enterence to Blok-9.  He set up several cameras (with the help of Danny's invisibility, should he have so chosen).  He'd also figured out how they could make a "stealthy" approach and get a lot of training bots.  Rocket was the heir to a large company himself and as such had several semi-trucks they could use.  They could use a couple to load robots and hide themselves.  They obviously couldn't drive up to the front door, but there was a cabbin not too far away that no one was currently using.  If they unloaded there then they had less distance to travel to get to their destination on foot.  He also got the materials Cory needed for her suit.  Through this entire thing, he still never revealed his face to Danny.  Whenever he wasn't out he was at the computer working through information.  He was mainly focusing on seeing if he could figure out who the next target was.  It didn't help that they didn't all dissapear from Portwood, though he supposed it made sense that they didn't.  He had a few theories, but that was about it.  Right now he was just waiting for the others to show up for the meeting.  They had most everything worked out, but Leo wanted to make sure everyone knew what was going on.  He had given a key to Cory like he had to Freya, but there was no way he was even going to consider giving one to Danny.

(If you want what's going on right now to be differet, just ask in the OOC.  I'll try to be as accomidating as I can.)

Cory hadn't been around much the past few days, only sending a message or two to Leo to let him know she hadn't dropped off the face of the earth. Other than that, she was at home working on her suit "upgrade" and fixing the Module. Note to self: don't fly in the rain. There's a reason birds don't do it and she was still kicking herself for thinking she was any different. She'd eaten some, gone out to the library a few times, but other than that was consumed by work or the occasional test flight, only to find more to work on. Maintenance is the worst. Currently, the pilot was scowling at the bloody bandage sitting on her desk beside a first aid kit while her shoulder throbbed horribly. Her mother hated blood and the teen muttered a small prayer of thanks that Ms. Finn wasn't home. Having not gotten around yet to send Leo a message, she reached over to her old flip and tapped in the following quickly: Fi here. Will be late 2 meeting. Can't fly 2day. She pressed send and reached over to grab her shoulder bag and shove a few dollars into a side pocket.

Buses, huzzah. She jogged downstairs after applying a new bandage to her shoulder, still in cargos and her not-hero hoodie as she didn't have the Module with her and had no intention of encountering trouble. It had begun to rain and she grumbled, not bothering to reach up and pull her hood over her head. It was another twenty minutes before the bus lights finally shone as it turned the corner and thoroughly soaked, she stepped back to avoid being splashed from a puddle before stepping on, paying her fare and going to sit at the back of the bus. The driver didn't give her a second glance but the other three on the bus gave her looks that made her shudder as she slid into a seat. She breathed a long sigh of relief as the ride went without a hitch to the park and she hopped off without any of them at the stop.

Slipping into the park, she reached into her pocket for the key and activated it once at the secret door. Climbing in and quickly shutting it behind, the soaked pilot began down the path to the base, squeezing out her hair like a towel as she went. "Hey Leo," she muttered, stepping inside. "Am I early for the meeting?"

@Shog

Danny now in a good mood because he had forgotten about phoenix and moved on was eager to help set up the cams but annoyed that Leo still didn't trust him. He saw Leo give fe the key and got a little more annoyed, but he still tried his best and helped around. He got his ps4 at least and just sort of tuned out the other guys that didn't even like him even though if this fucking raid goes sour he is fucked because he painted a target on his back by lying to and stealing from KorrTech all for some heroes that don't care if he lives or dies. But whatever.

Freya had rode along with Leo to the cabin and had helped gotten every thing moved over. It really wasn't like she had anything better to do anyways.

"Phoenix, nice to see you here." Storm Maiden checked her watch, "You're actually right on time. Now we just need to wait for the Deadpool wannabe to get here and we can get started." Truth be told she had wanted to start the meeting as soon as possible, actually hopefully a couple hours ago before the sun rose. But hey, there wasn't an exact time set for the meeting other than in the morning anyways.

She glanced through the blinds over the window, gazing at what little she could see of the KorTech building in the distance. Today there would find answers... and burn that place down. She hoped that with enough evidence that their group could get the government on their side for this. The four of them were not going to cut it against a company as big as KorTech all by their lonesome.

...And hopefully...

...They could recuse whoever had been kidnapped.

Oh yeah in my rant did i forget to mention that Danny is WAITING OUTSIDE BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE A KEY "Open the door guys." He said  pounding on the door.

Storm Maiden sighs and opens the door, letting the assassin in before he slices down the door or something stupid like that.

"Hey, you're late. Get in," she says rudely, "Also is there something I can call you other than 'Deadpool-wannabe' maybe? I don't think I got your alias."

She gets out of his way and stands to the side of the room.

"Good, we're all here," Whiplash said.  He moved to the table in the center of the room to begin.  "I know we've been over this before, but repititon can't hurt.  We haven't figured out who is the next to go, so we can't rely on that.  So from what the cameras have recorded we should be hitting soon after a shift change.  This means that we run less of a risk of running into more people than necessary.  There are two enterences.  We will hit the lesser used one.  If we can take down the guards outside quickly then reinforcements will be delayed.  We will go through the smaller door next to the bay door and open it up from the inside.  From there we will let the bots loose to run havok inside.  Once inside we run into the unknown.  I will try to find some sort of control center and take control.  I should be able to help from there and find what we are looking for and maybe find some more information, like an ordered hit-list.  Remember what side your'e on and try to avoid as many casualties as you can.  I highly doubt we will get out of this without leaving behind a corpse or two, but that's unavoidable.  Lastly, out mission is to ransack the place for information, mainly regarding who KorTechs unknown allies are, and take the facility down.  I mean that literally.  Once we're on our way out tro to find as many support structures as you can and take them down.  In the puches on the table I have provided compact yet highly volitile explosives.  I can control them from my arm computer.  If you need one gone just tell me.  Oh, one more thing.  If you find this Ronan that Kort was talking about, try to take him alive.  If Kort trusts him enough to mediate their "exchanges" then he has some information we could use.  Any comments?"

Storm Maiden quickly raised her hand to draw attention to herself, "Yeah, is it possible for my lightning to set off the bombs? I may need to set one off early and quickly as a trump card and equally importantly I'll need them not to blow up when I'm wearing them." Both of those valid tactical concerns in her mind. She had a feeling that it was likely she might run into either a super or a mech that would call for the use of one of those bombs.

It was very nice to see that Whiplash had provided a way to make that place burn.

"Blow me. I was waiting out there for an hour. And call me D we're not friends." Danny said to Storm

Danny only half listening didn't even try and comment because he knew he was only gonna either get ignored or denied something because they don't trust him even after his countless tries to prove himself. He just doesn't care anymore like what does he have to do save everyone's life. (Totally not foreshadowing anything. Plz make it happen though Danny just wants to be loved.) And you want him to keep the casualties low? Ha after we find Ronan or don't Danny is gonna go back there and kill everyone because loose lips sink ships and Danny doesn't like to be targeted.

Cory'd gone to take a seat shortly after being let in and was squeezing out her hair and the sleeves of her hoodie as Whiplash spoke as best she could with one arm as the other was still at her side, throbbing. In her head, she was mulling over what she could do and hoped (thought highly doubted as well) that the ceilings would be high enough for her to get some good mobility with the Module as otherwise she as pretty much a sitting duck. Once Storm brought up her comment, she also raised a hand. "Is there any way we can make sure the sprinkler system is off?" She scowled slightly at Danny's rude language.  "Also how are we going to handle things if someone goes down? We might not be shooting to kill but I can bet they will, with everything they've got." She kept her voice level and cool, knowing it was a question no one ever enjoyed voicing. What if they lost someone or something went wrong? "None of us here have healing abilities," the pilot added to hit it home just how bad things could get if KorTech had other ideas.

"The exlosivs are a bit touchy," Whiplahs said.  "They have a strong outer casing so I wouldn't wory about them going off from normal movements.  The bags are also designed to absorb impact energies and is bulletproof.  I have tried to insulate the bags from electircal charges, but still be careful.  Once out of the bag they are much easier to set off.  Electricity, enough fire, a bullter, etc. will set it off.  The blast radius is some 10-20 feet.  If someone goes down, we improvise.  If they're still alive then try to get them to cover and fend off all attackers.  As bad as it is to say, if they're dead then leave their body behind and make sure they didn't die in vain.  Something will go wrong, I promise you.  Even if we had a plan of what to do from beginning to end there will always be unknown factors that we must adapt to in the moment.  Lastly, lethal action will be needed sometimes.  But before you go in, consider who they are.  KorTech has a wide reach of power.  This could just be their day job and their payed to guard this building, having no knowlege of what they're guarding.  Other could be blackmailed somehow.  Just remember that most of them just want to go home at the end of the day and see their families."

Storm Maiden nods along as Whiplash explains the explosives, good, good, that's all good to know.

She raises her hand to her chin as she contemplates what the plan should be, "I'm thinking that I could use the rainstorm going on to rain down lightning to try and draw out their heavy hitters. I've only done it once before so I'm entirely sure on how precise I can make the lightning strikes... or how powerful they'll be for that matter. It should be comparable to... I want to say that the lightning strikes will be comparable the force of grenades going off all over." She peeks outside the window at the rainclouds forming overhead, "Though that entirely depends on how stormy the weather gets. I think I might have to get the clouds charged a bit first and that might take an half hour to an hour if the weather stays the same."

She smirked at the thought of what was to come, thank you mother nature.

"While I'm doing that you guys can infiltrate the complex, though of course they'll be expecting that. The question is how much of their forces I can draw out."

Danny thought about what Leo said and he was right they can't all be bad and life fighting KorrTech sounds pretty fun anyway but he will just stick to the shadows and be stealthy in this mission because he has no idea if any of these guys would even try and help him if he gets attacked. "I plan on staying stealthy this mission so don't acknowledge my existence unless i speak to you. Some of you probably already do that so it shouldn't be that hard." Danny said with a kind of unhappy expression.

Leo was kind of tempted to ignore Danny just to prove his point, but he wasn't that mean.  Instead he sadi, "That wouldn't probably be for the best.  You are the most stealthy between the four of us.  And storm, jst try to make it hit something important.  If it just strikes random nothing outside it might not draw out too many.  And don't exhaust your'self on the initail strike.  Anything else?"

@Danny Blake@ChrisClark13@Moolock

(sorry for the short post, but I couldn't think of anything else to add)

Cory would have been still squeezing out her hair as the others spoke and now there's a small puddle beside her seat. She'd have to watch out for those storms and strikes when flying and pray nothing they did set off the sprinklers inside. Under the table, she'd been trying to make a sustainable flame in her hand, though with her fingers and clothes wet, no dice. A few times, she got sparks, but by the time Leo was done, she'd given up. "Sprinklers," she added again, "Just.. let's try not setting them off until we're on our way out." She wouldn't admit that she was just terrified of large amounts of water in general. Rain was uncomfortable but alright, but her person getting soaked seemed to prohibit use of her powers. Muttering a small prayer, Cory hoped she'd not be meeting anyone in KorTech with water-based abilities. "Just a request. If they have to go off, it's alright."

"Ok what are we waiting for let's head out i'll finally get to have some fun with you guys for once." Danny said still kinda unhappy but more excited now. "and don't worry hot stuff i'll be careful with the fire." He said with a wink to phoenix.  "Also sorry for what i said earlier storm my name's Danny but my alias is Death Bringer so just call me D.B, but you really shouldn't get mad for me asking you for a bj." Danny said jokingly. He was waiting for his chance at revenge and now he has it not just stealing from Korrtech no that's to small he wants to send a message that would label him a terrorist.

"I'll see if I can get the sprinkler system shut down," Leo replied.  "If that's it, then let's go."  They had to walk for a little ways before reaching the door, but it was their best chance of getting there undetected.  Once they finally reached their destination, they moved into action.  Leo moved in and used his whips and just enough stored kinetic energy to knock the guy unconcious.  He relied on the others to take care of the other two guards as he used the unconcious guard's key card to open the small side door.  There was no one immediatly insde which was good, but as soon as the bay door started opening he could people running towards them.  They souldn't have to deal with them as they would soon be occupied with robots.  He looked around for the others to make sure they were ok before running deeper into the facility.

@Danny Blake@Moolock@ChrisClark13

(For some reason I didn't get any notification about either of your posts.  Would you guys please remember to tag me if I'm involved in the post or if it's the post after mine?  It would be a big help.)

Storm Maiden meanwhile had flown into the sky, hiding in the rain clouds. positioned herself just a ways off from being directly above the facility.

Breathing deeply she creating a wide range, but very weak, aura of her power. Carefully she sent power into the clouds before pulling it back in, trying to create a circulation of energy. Last time she had done this it had been during a full-on lighting storm, now she was trying to provoke one.

Slowly but surely, the clouds started to shift and move in response to Storm Maiden's power. She carefully created two pathways of power that ran against each other in order to create static electricity from the clouds themselves. It seemed for a while that this ploy wasn't going to work at all when finally she started to get a net positive energy gain. She drew that energy in before throwing it out again to strengthen the pathways of metahuman lighting, creating more static electricity from making the clouds run against each other faster and faster.

Unfortunately her actions in the clouds did not go unnoticed as her efforts eventually created two spinning formations of clouds that looked like the start of tornados. KorTech pointed their sensors to the skies, searching for the superhuman responsible for this, but they were unable to get a clear reading due to just how much EM-waves the clouds were inexplicably giving off

A hatch opened on one of the roofs and a turret rose, it pointed it's two large caliber barrels to the sky and fired straight for the center of the swirling cloud formation.

The crack of the bullet being fired and then it subsequently whizzing by her location roused Storm Maiden from her efforts. Never before had she done something quite like this before and she would've liked to experiment further with this new technique, but now it was the time for action!

The heroine strengthened her barrier as she descended from her cloud cover (the now grey clouds blocking her sight just as well as it was blocking KorTech's). She drew in static electricity from the clouds as she raised her hand. A blindingly bright bolt of lightning spilled forth from her outstretched palm and struck one of KorTech's lightning rods. Hm, seems like this was going to be harder than she thought.

It took two more tries, all the while deflecting and dodging return fire from the turret, before she was able to direct her lightning to strike the turret directly, frying it's delicate electronics an reducing it to a smoking ruin.

KorTech's response was simply to activate all of their turrets at once... including missile turrets. She turned her lightning towards those first, but she was only able to get two of the turrets before the others came online and she was forced to ascend back into her clouds in order to dodge the return fire.

Now the fight between Storm Maiden and the KorTech base was truly starting.

@Shog @Danny Blake @Moolock

As they arrived, Cory ran through a mental checklist- FI, check, goggles, check, lighters, check. Whiplash went inside, starting at the bottom. Storm went up. The wings shot out beside her and as she flicked her goggles down over her face, she grimaced, beginning to lift off the ground as the engines hummed. Remember the plan, be careful, and remember the plan. Into the unknown, she swooped upward, flying parallel with the glass panels of the building. Slowing down to count the floors to see roughly how far up she was, Cory came to hover almost halfway up the building when a flicker of movement behind the glass caught her eye, drawing her closer to the glass. Upon realizing what it was, she drew back from the glass as fast as she could.

Before out of range, however, a force slammed up against the glass and it shattered, a great earthen hand shooting out at her, only to be met with a great, spitting ball of fire that shattered the hand on impact. I don't have time for this. She continued soaring upward, smashing into the window of an upper floor. Head tucked and arms tucked in, Phoenix tumbled inside, coming to a hard halt against a rack of computers. Getting to her feet, she looked about. This was the layman's floor, no security on watch. She grabbed one of the laptops off a rack and bolted into the nearest cubicle, searching for a post-it.

Four cubicles later, she stumbled across someone with a bad memory and snatched a post-it from beside their workspace: a password. Username would be some variation of the first and last name combined, which was posted on the outside of the cubicle. She snatched that too and tucked them under her arm. She wasn't careful, however, and three men filed into the large room at the other side, the detail sent from seeing movement on the security cameras. Hearing them enter, she halted, blood running cold as their weapons made the signature clicks of guns loading. You weren't careful. What are your options now? She glanced around and decided best course for now would be to hide.
