With both Danny and Leo they might be able to take this guy, but he appeared to be telekinetic.  And real telekinesis, not the knock of version Leo had.  Their best bet would probably be to keep moving and try to have at least one of them in his blind spot.  Leo noticed that there were no other guards outside of the door.  That didn't make sense.  If their goal was to kill them then having armed guards to shoot them while they were distracted with the telekinetic would be logical.  Unless their goal wasn't to kill them.  Regardless, they were going to deal with this guy whether they liked it or not.  Leo made a move towards the guy as quietly as possible while he was distracted with Danny, but apparently not quiet enough.  He held out his hand and Whiplash ended up pressed flat against the wall. He felt as though a giant invisible hand was holding him in place.


"I haven't properly introduced myself yet," he said, pulling out a sword to fend off any possible attack from Danny.  "You may call me Ronin.  Or Master if you prefer.  No need to introduce yourselves.  Leo and Danny.  You two should make an excelent addition to the collection. As of this moment, you belong to KorTech."


It didn't take long for Leo to place the name.  He was mentioned in some audio files, even makeing an appearence every now and then.  This man was responsible for the dissappearences of so many heroes and villians.  With his spare hand he pulled out his other sword and made a move to attack Leo.  With a burst of energy, Leo took telekinetic control over his suit and forcibly took it out of Ronin's control.  He straightened his whips to act as a form of baton and moved in to attack this creep.  If both of them stayed on him then they could win.

(Sorry for the delay, notifications still arn't working for me on this thread.  Nice to see it isn't dead just yet.  And as a side note, Rnonin is bad ass.  Expect a real fight out of him and to not land very many blows.)

"Ok ramen the thing is though i don't care about your collection or whatever you're doing but they are gonna have to collect you with chopsticks after i'm done with you." Danny charged at Ronin with his two swords and they clashed Danny used his own strength however and redirected his suits strength to his feet and delivered a swift kick to Ronins jaw and slashed at him. @Shog

Ronin moved backwards slightly, easily dodging the the kick to his jaw and swords.  He decided that it would be easier to deal with one of them at a time and tossed Whiplash out of the room.  That was the intention, anyway.  He had never before met someone who could counteract his telekinesis and that's exactly what he did.  He was more intrigued than anything.  "Chopsticks are an inefficient way of collecting food.  As a swordsman, I would have expected you to understand the value of a good stab."  He moved to deflect all of the attacks coming at him, moving at increadible speads yet still appearing lazy.


(Again, Ronin is very skilled and you will land very few blows, hence his dodging your attacks contrary to what you posted.)

Getting agitated Danny spurt out "URGH I'LL CHOP YOU INTO STICKS." Danny looked like he was going into overdrive like a madman. First he tried a spin slash but to no avail, then he kicked at him and all this fucker was doing was dodging so Danny got furious teleported back about 4 meters, threw his sword, teleported behind him and went to kick him forward into the sword (and if that kick worked) he teleported above Ronin and threw a punch to his temple.

Ronin smirked and easily took control of the sword with his telekinesis.  He moved forward when Danny teleported, not sure where he went but knowing that someplace where he didn't see him was probably safer.  He spun around and saw Danny behind him.  "You're not that skilled.  I could have finished the job you didn't.  Speaking of which..."  He threw Danny's sword towards Whiplash, but he redirected the attack and knocked it from Ronin's telekinetic control.  Now throughly frusturated, he chrged Whiplash, giving Danny a chance to move in behind him.

Stone Knight grit his teeth as he prepares to launch a spear at the incoming fire controller. Ready.... Aim... -urk! He stumbled and lost his chance to attack as a powerful force struck him in the back.

Storm Maiden, seeing that her foe was standing confident and meeting Phoenix's head on... was likely preparing some sort of counterattack. She didn't plan on letting that happen. With a shout she unleashed a kinetically charged lighting bolt at the man's back. Seems he forgot I was here... and now he gets to pay the price of that. Her foe stumbled and she lost sight of him as the extremely hot flames washed over him.

Stone Knight broke into a mad sweat as his armor started to get very, very hot. Just how powerful is that girl!? Flames are not supposed to get past his armor! 


Pain shot through his body as his skin started to burn. No no NO! He frantically turned his power towards burying himself in the ground, but he found that he just wasn't getting out of the heat fast enough as the temperature continued to rise. In desperation he ripped an inelegant hole in the ground that dropped him right into one of the base's underground tunnels.


Stone Knight hit the floor running, the flames licking at his heels. Turning a corner he twisted his power, causing his super heated armor to explode off of his body before he kept running. He still felt like he was on fire, the heat having seeped into his skin...

Holy crap. Phoenix is all kinds of phenomenally powerful. Storm Maiden couldn't recall an instance where another fire controller had managed to call up so much flame in such a short amount of time. The girl was still a newbie to boot!


Carefully the veteran heroine waited for the flames to subside... huh... she hadn't been expecting that from her foe.


She turned on her radio and called out to Phoenix, "Hey! It looked like he fled into an underground tunnel! I'm done out here anyways so I'm going to follow him inside. Up to you if you want to follow me down too."


Unknown to her the waves from her radio carried her voice to her teammate's ears (though her voice was a bit distorted from all the distance).

Cory glanced back to the gaping hole in the roof and nodded to Storm. There was a fair amount of feedback but she got the gist and replied, "Alrighty! Right behind you." As she approached Storm, Cory began to feel the top of her sock getting wet. Once they got down there, she'd be able to walk, probably, but the pilot was beginning to get a little lightheaded, not helped by the voice's urging to go all out before that led to her using an uncomfortably large amount of her energy. All in all, as she landed less-than-gracefully on the rooftop a few yards from the knight's escape chute, the pilot was rather uneasy. 


Reaching down to adjust her torn pant leg, Cory forced herself not to look directly at the gash, though her fingers were tipped red as she wiped them off a little higher up on the cloth. Shifting her weight off that leg, Cory winced, Not gooood... "Hey Storm...?" Maybe it was just knowing that there was such damage was what made her a little nauseous, maybe it was the lightheaded-ness and exhaustion. Glass cannon's got a crack in it. "On the way down... let me know if you see directions for a med bay. If we find one, I'll be splitting to head there." Vaguely, she'd seen signs for an infirmary, but retracing her steps would mean going back to the cubicle floor, finding the sign, and following it on a goose-chase through the building.

Letting the anger in him cool down, Danny silently ran behind Ronin and sent a stab to the center of his back. Danny put everything he could into this stab, hoping that it would kill this sonouva bitch. @Shog

Ronin made a couple quick swipes at Whiplash, which were both deflected, before moving to the side.  He was acutely aware of how open he left himself and knew he needed to move.  There was a chance he would be running right into an attack, but he had better chances moving and barely did so in time.  The back of his jacket was torn and he felt a slight sting as the blade skimmed his back.  He quickly turned towards the two of them and released a telekinetic force, knocking them against the wall.  "I regret to say that I cannot handle the two of you at the same time.  We will meet again, don't worry."  With that he ran out of the room.  Whiplash extended a whip to try and catch the guy, but he noticed and threw a hidden knife.  He did it so quickly that he didn't have enough time to react and it hit his shoulder.  While his armor was weak there to allow for mobility, there was still enough to keep any real damage from being done.  He cried out in pain as it hit and fell to one knee.  He'd never actually been stabbed before and couldn't say he was a fan.  He reached to pull it out and grunted as he did so.  Blood began to pour from the wound and he began wrapping it with his good arm.  He carried aroud a few medical supplies, but if he took another hit like that he'd be out.

"THAT FUCKING COWARD." Danny spat out and his suit turned red unknown to Danny but as he saw his friend cry out in pain he cooled down and his suit went back to his regular black. With a sigh he turned to Leo and said "What never get stabbed before calm down dude damn, it's going to be ok. Let's get out of here and maybe even kill that guy while we're at it. Where to next bro?" 

 

[Shog]

"No, actually," Whiplash replied.  "Believe it or not I try my hardest to not get stabbed.  And we're not leaving.  We came here with a mission and I don't plan on leaving until we finish it.  Now come on, I know where to head next."  He stood up and began walking out of the room when he heard Storm Maiden over the radio.  Something about following someone into a tunnel, but he couldnt make everything out.  "Everything OK with you two?"  he wasnt sure if the signal msde it through or not, but it was worth trying.  He rhen turned his attention to Danny as they moved through the now empty corridor.  "While I was in there I saw an area that ran on a different system close to the center of the mountain.  I'm willing to be that's where we will find what we're looking for.=

Storm Maiden "hmmm"ed as she looked over the extent of Phoenix's injury, "No need, I've got some bandage and ointment. Not a lot, but some." As she said that, she popped open one of the pouches on her belt and took out a small first aid kit. "As it turn out, these aren't actually entirely for show. I've actually one of those bombs from earlier in this one over here." She said as she patted the belt pouch to the far left.


"Alright, sit down and I'll patch you up."

He stood up and began walking out of the room when he heard Storm Maiden over the radio.  Something about following someone into a tunnel, but he couldnt make everything out.  "Everything OK with you two?"  he wasnt sure if the signal msde it through or not, but it was worth trying.

While she's tending to Phoenix's wound, she responds on the radio, "We're okay. As far as I can tell all the outside defenses are down and everyone out here is either dead, unconscious, or is pretending to be so we don't smite them. Though we did fight a powerful geokinetic just now. We were able to deal with him and he fled by opening a tunnel to the lower levels. Phoenix got a hit on her in the process though and I'm patching her up before we head down. How are things going on your end?"

"Holy crap dude you guys are smiting people maybe you're learning a thing or two from me. We just fought some asshole and he ran too." Danny said over the intercom thing. "You know what i just realize dude there's two girls and two of us so why don't we pair up you know i take one you take the other." He said not knowing his intercom was still on.

"Sorry, but I'm currently dating justice," Storm Maiden snarked in response to Danny's words, "but I'll keep that in mind in case we have a break up. Also I'm pretty sure Phoenix doesn't like your type."

Cory nodded, managing to half sit, half collapse onto the roof, leg out toward Storm. Teeth clenched and eyes screwed shut, the pilot was in a far from happy state. The lightheaded-ness was getting worse and she only heard half of what came through, though she was able to get the gist. Faintly, she remembered having walked out on him when they first met... hadn't that happened? Maybe she was confusing things. Cory had no intentions to leave the mission with a boyfriend. She was looking for Ruby and Wattson if they were still alive in this complex. Would she be alive to get to them? Stop over dramatizing, Cor, it's just your leg... if worst comes to worse you can live without it. That thought didn't stop the fact that she felt like her calf was on fire. 


As Storm went about fixing her up for the time being, every touch sent a new shoot of pain up her leg, but Cory fought to keep it still. The "star"'s words still unnerved her, Cory realized through the haze. "...Storm?" She leaned to one side, locking her arm so the other could reach up to turn off her radio. "...If I go like that again, stop me?" Cory opened her eyes a crack, looking to the hero. Reflecting on how silly a request that was, the pilot looked away, frowning. How was she going to defeat her enemies with fire in a way that wouldn't involve burning them? Fire? C'mon, Cory. That's the one thing you can do. "Never mind," she muttered, "was a stupid thing to ask..."

Storm Maiden sighed and turned off her radio. 


"Go like what?" she said with no small amount of derision, "Are you trying to say 'my power makes me have a second personality'? Because frankly, that's a load of shit. Only mental trauma really does that and it takes a whole lot of it..." Her voice then suddenly trails off and she looks around at the bodies around like she just realized something.


"This is your first time killing people isn't it?" she sighed already getting a headache from thinking about the PTSD Phoenix was likely getting from all this already. Some people are just made of stronger stuff while others just can't cut it. "Know what, if you can't handle this then just go home. I don't want you here if you can't-- if you're incapable of taking the responsibility for your own actions." she said sternly, " I don't want you here if you're going to have a breakdown halfway through that makes you become a liability."


I don't want you here if you're going to tear yourself apart at the seams of your morality by being here, went unsaid because Storm Maiden didn't want to appear like she was coddling the newbie heroine.

Cory sighed, shaking her head. "I'd said never mind," she muttered, "...But yes, this is my first time killing people." Reaching up to rub hair out of her face, the pilot turned her gaze to the sky. Now that the fighting was over, the clouds had broken up and shafts of sunlight poured down. "'M not leaving and I won't crack under the pressure, promise. 'Ve already gotten this far- and I guess for you something like a rooftop skirmish isn't all that far, but for me this is somethin' too big to back out of."


She'd just have to adjust. If they fought the Knight again, Cory wouldn't hold back, otherwise she suspected she wouldn't be lucky enough to just get away with a gashed leg. "Was a stupid thing to ask anyway. Gotta do what you've gotta do and same goes for me, yeah? ...If I ask something stupid like that again, you don't have to bother replying. I'll figure out why it wasn't worth asking." Almost as if to prove she wasn't completely hopeless, Cory turned on her radio and muttered, "I managed to get something from one of the lower floors. Laptop and the login for it." In the Module's storage compartment, she could feel the weight of the small computer. After doing her part in combat, protecting that would be her top priority. She just hoped whatever was on it or its servers was worth the effort.

"In case you havn't noticed, I'm not much of the romantic type," Whiplash said, leading them deeper into the facility.  "But if you want to hit on either of the others then be my guest.  Just let me record the rejection."  He did his best to hid his nerves and thought he was doing a pretty good job at it.  This was the largest misssion he'd ever attempted and it was so crutial in so many ways.  They could be stopping who knows what, releasing heroes back into the world, and finding their mentors.  That was the plan, anyway.  He couldn't ignore the possibility that they were dead no matter how much he wanted.  And then there was the question of who would have the power to take so many heroes?  Leo suspected KorTech had some... what did Storm Maiden call them?  Meta-humans?  Yah, that was it.  So far he knew that they had at leas two metas, a telekinetic and geokinetic, but who knows how many others?  And what if they were somehow gifted those powers based on DNA stolen from heroes?  There were just so many questions and so few answers.

"Whoops didn't know this thing was still on." Danny said turning it off. "Come on dude i know you have a thing for storm you two are perfect for each other, both hardasses that are really just sweet inside." Danny went in for a hug as he said that knowing Leo would push him off. "Hey isn't it weird that we haven't encountered anyone yet." 



Just as Danny said that he heard footsteps that got gradually louder it sounded like a whole platoon. "Shit dude get ready."

As Danny expected, Leo just shoved him away as he went in for a hug.  He was about to respond when the soldiers came in behind them.  "No, screw this!" Whiplash shouted as he grabbed a small sphere from within his toolbelt and threw it towards them.  He released some heat energy in the direction of the sphere and it vilently exploded just before the incomming soldiers.  The two of them were a fair distance away and had suits with thermal protection, but the soldiers weren't so lucky.  Some of them at least.  Saying whiplash was surprised when several guards in heavy battle armor walked through would be a understatement.  They were slow, but could clearly take a beating.  They might be less resistant to electrical energy, but he had trouble storing that for long periods of time and was low on electric energy.  He supposed he could try converting energy like he'd always wanted, but he'd never been successful before.  He decided to wait for a more desperate time to try.  Instead he extended his whips and prepared for battle.


"And what makes you think I like Storm?  Or even that she likes me?  Whatever it is, I don't buy it."  He'd never been one for romance in the first place.  He'd never really even felt attracted to anyone before.  Sure he knew was love felt like (at least from family) but did he want to ove someone else?  He supposed Storm Maiden wouldn't be a bad choice, logically speaking.  She knows who he is and who he was and could take care of herself.  The bigget problem is that they each maintained focus on the mission above all else, which left very little room for anything other than the mission.  And wouldn't caring for a teammate that much just interfere anyway?  And why was he thinking so hard about this for one simple question that came from the local joker?

Storm Maiden finishes up with the bandages, tightening the tie on them with one last sharp tug. "Alright and for the question it's probably worth asking, but now's just not the time for it. Hell, when we get out of this mess I'll see about giving you some proper training."


"For now lets catch up with the others." With that said she floated herself down into the tunnel and spoke on her radio, "Whiplash, what's your location? Me and Phoenix are going to head to your location so we can meet up."

Whiplash had never turned his radio off, so he didn't have to stop fighting to answer.  We're deep inside, heading towards the center of the compound.  We're a bit held up at the moment, but if you can get to the center head there instead of here.  Oh, and expect an increase in security.  The center runs on it's own power and security grid.  I'm willing to bet they're setting up some sort of ambush, so please try to move stealthily and be vigilent."  He then let out a series of grunts as he took down one of the gusy in a suit.  He hoped they wouldn't be too much longer, but he couldn't guarantee that.  He also couldn't guarantee that they'd be much use once they got that far.  They were both trained from a young age to have hight stamina, but this was rediculous.  At least they had some time to rest inside the room.

"Ooh is that the girls HII GIRLS! Tell them i said hi." Danny letting out a fury of punches kicks slashes and teleports got bored. He was much more clever than he let on and knew how to conceal himself so he thought of the chances of his next move he put his hidden gun on the "boom" setting placed it next to his sword and redirected his invisibility module to the gun and jumped high in the air. He knew once he pulled the trigger he would have 0.5 seconds to teleport to Leo grab him and teleport them out, it was risky but he tried it anyway and right before he hit the ground so as to make it look like he made impact he pulled the trigger teleported to Leo grabbing him and the teleport function malfunctioned and somehow intertwined with Leo's radio signal and sent them to the girls. Danny fell to the ground with a thud and looked up to see the girls. "Hi girls." he said with a burst of laughter.
