Early morning, there was a hustle bustle buzzing energy in the air, especially among students of Asuka High School. This particular day was meant as a club recruitment day. Due to the importance that the school feels that clubs provide, half of the day was set aside for the students to thoroughly examine those set out.
Television stations and radios would begin the hour with the latest reports as students began their morning commutes to school:
“Breaking News!
Late last night, a bus crashed into the Akabane Train Station, blocking the exit for much of the night. Eye witnesses claim that the bus driver seemed to have lost control of the brakes, and the bus tipped and slid down the stairs. There were a couple fatalities and many people are in the hospital. Ono Pharmaceuticals is at the forefront of helping those affected by this tragic event. Delays may occur for the Keihin Tohoku Line.”
- The school day would proceed as typical for the students, up until the lunch hour. As one would expect during any class changes before teachers started classes, friends would gather together to have a chit chat before their next class starting.
Some groups talked about their excitement for the latter half of the day. Some partook in the typical gossip of high school students.
“Did you hear?”
“She’s apparently super good with classical music! We need to recruit her today.”
“She’s so creepy!”
“That fake-blonde girl is a bully! She-”
“That super smart boy is related to that delinquent!?”
“I don’t know what he… she… it was doing with my boyfriend…”
“His parents kidnapped him from America. They were able to get away with it because-”
“I heard she gambles!”
“I think he’s dumb, probably held back a lot.”
“See his scars? I heard he’s hospitalized someone for disagreeing with him.”
“Hey, sneak up on her next time. It’s hilarious! She’s like a mouse!”
The clubs would have an hour after lunch to step up before students could partake in finding any to join. During this time, the principal’s office would be closed off from visitors, though hushed voices would signify that it was occupied by four people. - Students within Asuka High School are allowed to partake in several clubs, and in some cases, may even be encouraged to join more than one.
The campus would be littered with tables for clubs throughout- there would be plenty to choose from! Sports clubs would be trying to recruit those with desirable builds. A certain redhead may have gotten quite a few people trying to get him to join.
Music clubs were no different if they knew someone had talent, even if it were based on rumors. There was that half-American and the Japanese-Named-American that some clubs may have tried to persuade them into joining.
A certain advisor had approached the Dance Club’s President, letting them know that it was disbanded as of today. The Dance Club was no more.
One table sat a bit away from the groups, with one girl occupying the table. In front of the table was a large, paper-crafted sign that labeled it as The Breakfast Club’s table. The girl at the table had a clipboard for a sign up sheet, though she wasn’t paying attention to the atmosphere around her. People avoided that table.
“Ew. Is she drawing skulls again?”
“Her mother had to have given up.”
“Quick, let’s go.”
The girl at the Breakfast Club’s table was immune to such loud whispers, paying them no mind. She didn’t want people signing up to join her in her club if they were going to be vocal bullies.
