Fantasy The Lost Treasure of Creation

Arya Tinuviel

Location: Temple Ruins

With: Keir and Ireth; Near: Vanathell

Arya glanced at Keir, who had muttered something, though she hadn't quite caught what it was that he had said. Shrugging it off, she went to move towards the doorway at the end of the hallway that they were in. A strong, dark aura pulsed out from the door, smoky tendrils of dark blacks, greys, and a dark, dark red. "We should move on, it's dangerous to stay in one place too long," the girl mentioned, looking back towards her companions. "Are both of you able to move forward?" she asked, noting that the elf woman, Ireth, seemed a little shaken about something, and Keir hadn't moved much from his resting spot on the rubble. A faint clattering sound echoed from somewhere farther in the ruins, drawing Arya's attention, but she dismissed this as well. There wasn't much she could do about it now, and she was eager to finish exploring and to get out of these ruins. The dark aura in the air was not a pleasant one, and she really wanted to get away from all of the blood that followed her around this place. The metallic scent of the liquid was a constant reminder of death to her, and also reminded her of many painful memories from her past. While she waited for a response, a low growling sound emanated from the darkness further down the collapsed hallway which she and Keir had come from.

Ireth looked over at Kier hearing him muttered something and shook her head trying to refocus. She looked at Arya who had spoken and nodded "yes, it wouldn't be wise to stay in one place." She agreed and sheathed her dagger.

The elf could feel the dark aura in the air and wondered if it was some magic of sorts something far greater than just these creatures. What if it made someone go dark... She shook her head finding herself getting lost in thought again. "Let's go." She said quickly.

Keir nodded in response to Arya's question. He attempted once again to get up, this time managing it, if a little shakily. As he braced himself against a wave of dizziness, he heard a clatter from farther down a passage. He saw Arya dismiss the noise, but it bothered him. He thought he could make out a faint light. He didn't act on the notion, but gripped his knife tighter. At Ireth's suggestion, he began to move down the passage off of the main collapsed one.

This hall was in better shape, mostly intact, and was smaller. There was less room to the sides for a monster to attack from, so any encounters would likely be from in front. The passage wasn't straight, but instead twisted and turned at random. It was almost as if it was alive. The thought creeped Keir out, especially since it felt like this place was heavily enchanted. He decided that it might be safer to walk behind his companions and let them lead the way.

Pansa crouched in the shadows near the entrance of the temple ruins. He had managed to obtain its location by eavesdropping on various patrons at a nearby tavern. Drunk people were surprisingly loose tongued. Despite his training he found it quite difficult to climb into the clearing that the temple ruins were in.

He took on whiff of the air and cringed. Its smelled of death and despair. Something or someone didn't like adventurers and were systematically killing them off. He inwardly thanked his sensei for teaching him how to disarm traps and climb over ones he couldn't disarm. He carefully made his way to the entrance, careful to make his way there in the shadows. If he was tailed he didn't them to have any opportunities to kill him when his back was turned. He made many enemies when he worked as a mercenary.

Slipping into the temple, he reached into his pouch and retrieved a packet of rice flour. It may have seemed silly to anyone watching him but it was what he used to identify any trip wires or similar devices.

Blood twisted with discomfort as it followed Arya's path through the new hallway, leaving red stains on the ground behind it. The small hallway had the advantage of having fewer places for monsters to attack from, but it also had a huge disadvantage for the blue haired girl -- in a space as small as this one, it was near impossible to be able to effectively attack with her large scythe, as there simply wasn't enough room to swing it around as needed. If they were attacked in this small space, she would need to rely on only her magic and her companions, and her armor to keep her protected. While those were not necessarily weak things to rely on, the girl still hated the idea of having a handicap when it came to fighting.

The young woman found herself walking at a quicker pace than usual, eager to get out of the confined hallway. She found herself stumbling over rubble a little more often, and making a bit more noise than she usually did in her hurry to get out of the area and into open space. Perhaps that is why she missed the small, shadowy form that was crawling along the edge of the ceiling, sticking to the shadows. She became aware of the monster's presence at the sound of a quiet hissssss, which caused the girl to look up just as the creature leaped down at the group, giant spidery legs grabbing onto the girl as she raised her armored arms to try to block the attack. She lett out a surprised yelp while falling to the ground due to the creature's tackle. Arya felt a sharp pain in her neck as the spidery creature bit her with sharp fangs, before the girl finally managed to wrestle the creature off of her, throwing it a few feet down the hall and grabbing her neck where the thing had bit her. Blood boiled around her with surprise, fear, and anger, blobs of it raising up like what one would see in a lava lamp, while the spidery creature hissed at the group and attempted to lunge at them again.

Ireth followed down the path and noticed Kier move to the back and she was now in front which she didn't mind. It gave her a sense of control.

The elf jumped and turned only to see a order looking creature on top of Arya. She glared in annoyance and pulled Arya back behind her holding her hand up she created a small quick barrier that knocked the creature back. Before it could recover Ireth threw her dagger at it watching it pierce it's shadowy self. She wasted no time running to retrieve her weapon.

Mavndrus stood in front of a carriage looking around at the dainty mining village that they were about to enter. "Leandor, tell me again why did i let you talk me into coming here." Leandor huge figure stepped out of the carriage door and payed the driver after petting the two beautiful brown stallions who flinched when he got near them. "My dear prince, there has been said this place may hold hints to what we are looking for." Mav huffed doubting that this village would be useful for anything accept coal and bad lungs as the air was full of dust . Many stopped and stared at the two as they approached the town. "By the way it looks these people havent seen royalty before." Leandor laughed as he trailed closely behind the prince. "Or they may be trying to see if stealing your jewelry is worth it." They both laughed loudly at the ridiculous thought.

Mavndrus hated being in places like this they passed many beggars walking through the town and the aura of the place just seemed unworthy of his presence but he trusted Leandor's insight. He played with his black diamond ring as they walked with his head held in the air and his staff being used as a walking stick. Just by the look of him you could tell he was royalty. While walking he joked about the poor souls they passed. It was mostly Mav calling them lowly and dirty and Leandor nodding his head and laughing with his hands held behind his back. "So where are we headed i dont want to spend any uneeded time here." He said as he pulled out a black handkerchief and placed it over his nose. "We could either head to the mines or Ruins, i say the mines because im pretty sure he ruins are probably crawling with others." Leandor picked up his paced as he noticed the prince's growing uneasiness, he wanted to be out of this town as much as he did. As they approached the mine they saw four other figures they took no account of until they got closer. "Leandor..." Mav said slowing his pace . "Yes i see... well lets keep moving." Leandor said approaching the mine.

Keir Sullivan

As the monster tackled his companion from the shadows of the ceiling, Keir faltered for a moment in surprise. The monster was almost as wide as the passage, so had no idea how it could have snuck up on them. He knew that he needed to be more vigilant. Keir watched Ireth push an injured Arya behind them and knock the monster back with a barrier. He was impressed by its power, and had no idea she could use such a spell. As Ireth threw her dagger, Keir tightened his grip on his knife and leaped forward, slashing at the creature. He managed to slice off two long, spindly legs before he retreated again. He saw that the monster lay unmoving on the ground, black blood spilling from its open wounds. He assumed it was dead, or at least incapacitated, and turned to Arya.

As he did so, he couldn't help but let his face contort with concern. His companion was bleeding from her neck, and the blood she was adding to the pool around her boiled. From experience, Keir knew that neck wounds could be fatal. If the monster had bitten deep enough, she could be done for unless she could be healed quickly. Also, by the looks of the monster, he figured that its bite was likely to be poisoned. He lingered by the wall helplessly, wishing that he could be more useful.

Ireth retrieved her dagger from the monster and kicked it back some. She glared at the black blood pooling under her feet. "This isn't good." she muttered and sheathed her weapon walking back over to Arya. "we need to get that bleeding to stop? You're a healer yes, can you heal yourself or is too much energy spend?" Ireth asked her concerned almost seemed rehearsed. It was as if she needed to be concerned that someone she just met and was helping could die from their injuries. She did care but she couldn't let herself care too much... to deeply, never again would she make that mistake.

The elf grimaced and rubbed her temples that barrier cost her a bad headache. She sighed no matter how hard she practiced or tried she never felt good enough for her abilities. This was the other reason she left her people, she was the odd elf that had bad casualties when coming to use any type of magic even the ones within her blood.

Black blood trailed from the spider-like creature to join the boiling mess surrounding Arya. The girl brought her hand away from her wound for a moment, looking at the bright red that stained the silver colored gauntlets on her hands. The blood flowing from her neck floated up in blobs with the liquid that was already surrounding her. The wound would definitely need to be healed soon. "I can heal it some...I'm not sure if I can close it completely," Arya quietly replied to Ireth's question. She placed her hand back over the wound and channeled her powers to the two puncture marks, a blue glow emanating from the wound. The blood around her twisted and thrashed in pain, and this time around, Arya was not able to keep the pain from showing on her face, and her expression turned into a grimace as the pain of the wound was magnified tenfold. The wound slowly started stitching itself together. The blue-haired girl managed to get the wound about half of the way closed up before the pain coupled with the blood loss started to become too much for her, and she started to feel light headed and dizzy. That was her cue to stop; it was too dangerous to push the healing further and risk passing out in such a dangerous place. Letting her hand drop away from her neck, the wound was visibly smaller and not bleeding nearly as much.

"Thank you for the save earlier," Arya mentioned to Ireth while she took a moment to catch her breath. She briefly wondered if the creature had been poisonous, and if she would have to worry about that. Great, now I'm hindering the group instead of helping, she thought to herself, obviously displeased. She was too tired to bother masking her emotions now, and her face showed clearly her annoyance and worry. In turn, however, the mixtures of liquid around her started to calm down, floating down to the ground until it was all a still puddle around her once more. "We can't afford to stay here. I'll be fine, but we need to move on," she told the others. She reached over to grab her scythe that she had dropped, using it to help herself to her feet. She was a little more pale than usual, but she was determined to move on.

Sounds like quite the commotion, Vanathell mused as the sounds of battle echoed through the old passageways. Maybe he'd get lucky and the monsters would finish off the newcomers before he had to run across them, though it wasn't like his luck to allow that to pass. But he wasn't about to shy away from a possible encounter, either--he'd come here for answers, after all. Perhaps whoever was beyond this particular corridor could be of assistance, in that regard, assuming they survived. The real question, however, was if it was worth stepping in. He wasn't exactly the "heroic" type.

Then again, it wasn't like the monsters were going to tell him why they were up and about. It'd been far too long since he'd heard any news of the surface world, anyway. His mind made up, the lich ambled back the way he'd come along the dank corridor, slowed by his fussing leg and slight hunch. Damn--when had one of the beasts gotten ahold of his leg enough to mangle it? Vanathell grumbled irritably at the idea he might need to repair it soon, but he pressed on.

Beyond the walls, the sounds of fighting died down, and the sorcerer listened closely for any signs of the outcome. Sure enough, after a few moments, he thought he heard the distant sound of voices again. It didn't seem as distinct as before--perhaps the wall was thicker here--but he was certain that was what he had heard. Perhaps he could be of some assistance if necessary? People tended to respond better to those who offered aid when it was needed, so perhaps he could use that in his favor.

He shifted the knapsack so it sat more securely over his shoulders and lifted the torch a bit higher, illuminating the darkness to reveal another passage that intersected with his own further ahead. To the left, he had yet to explore, but to the right, he knew a partially collapsed tunnel stretched deeper underground, connected to a secondary exit--perhaps used by those who maintained this temple however long ago. The voices, clearer now, sounded like they might be coming from his left, and so he headed that way.

Ireth nodded and looked around. "Perhaps we need to take a different approach before all of us are killed." She muttered looking at the creature. "We know there is dark magic here, so let's use that knowledge to our advantage. Everyone has a weakness including these creatures. Perhaps the stronger the light the safer we are?" She suggested not wanting to blindly continue further and risk more injury to the group.

She watched Arya stand up and knew they needed to move, however the girl looked in bad shape. "You should rest." Ireth finally stated.

Pansa heard a quiet hiss of a monster echo through the tunnel before him. He had seen a lich enter the tunnel ahead and the sounds of battle following the ominous hiss was clear something went down. He wondered why a lich would be in such a place but it seemed to be more intelligent than the rest of its kind. It also lacked the same aura of malice most undead creatures had. Pansa would definitely approach the lich warily.

Pansa looked around his immediate area for anything of use. Finding nothing of value, he made his way toward the passageway were he had heard the commotion moments before. Perhaps a group of adventurers were up ahead. He enjoyed solitutude but now was not the time to go off alone. He was in an unknown place. He hastily made his way down the passageway checking for traps or hidden rooms along his way. He hoped he would run into someone soon. It would be most helpful to have someone watching his back.

Ireth paused and motioned to the two to be silent. Her finger went over her lips and she slowly pulled out her dagger. She quickly headed up the tunnel a ways and moved against the wall hiding in the darkness. Elves were exceptionally skilled at hiding and sneaking around when they wanted to. She patiently waited for the intruder to come within reach and held out her dagger in front of him just in enough time for him to stop.

Ireth eyed him carefully debating if he would be of any threat to them. "Let me guess... Looking for treasure too?" She asked not even attempting to read his mind for his intentions after all she needed to save her energy.

Keir Sullivan

Keir became more and more agitated as sounds of movement approached their hallway. He knew it had been lucky to run into friendly adventurers, and that not all were that way. It would be devastating should they be attacked now. His companions seemed tired, and he was just about ready to fall over. He was glad when Ireth quieted them and snuck towards the newcomer. That meant he was unlikely to be the first attacked, if it came to fighting. Nonetheless, he readied his weapon, wanting to be prepared for any sudden moves.

Keir watched as Ireth moved towards the wall, marveling at how she seemed to sink into the shadows. Elves could be quite amazing. The stranger rounded the corner. As they did so, Ireth held out a gleaming dagger at neck level. The action seemed quite threatening, and the stranger stopped. As she questioned them, Keir wondered who they were. He couldn't clearly make out the face from where he was, but the person made him uneasy. Something about them was unsettling to him. He gripped his knife tighter, moving between the stranger and the injured Arya, and waited for a response.

Arya stayed standing, but took a moment to lean against her scythe and catch her breath while Ireth went ahead for a moment. The rest was much needed, but staying in one place, especially this small corridor, made the girl uneasy. Blood red eyes searched the corridor ahead of them, looking for signs of movement ahead. Something up ahead didn't look right... Arya focused on this feeling, trying to figure out what was wrong, before realizing. There was a dark aura approaching down the hallway. It was dark and powerful, like the aura that lingered in the ruins that had been caused by dark magic, but it was also somehow different. The girl let out a small shudder at the ominous aura, but at the same time felt a pull to know what it was. Standing straighter and using her scythe as a sort of walking stick, Arya started to walk forward, towards the approaching aura. She paused to look back at Keir briefly, wondering if he would be okay. "There's something up ahead, most likely dangerous. Follow if you want, or stay here," she told him in a whispered tone, sounding concerned. She then returned her attention to the approaching aura, and headed towards it once more, pool of blood following her, but not bubbling up like usual. She passed Ireth, who was holding her dagger up to some stranger. The bloody girl briefly paused to look at the scene, but quickly discerned that that particular stranger was not the cause of the aura she was seeing -- on the contrary, his aura was somewhat pleasant to look at. Looking ahead at the aura growing closer, she continued walking towards it, passing the pair without bothering with a second glance. This darker aura was more pressing to her, at the moment.

It did not take her long to find the source of the aura, as the lich had been walking towards the group, as well. Arya had passed Ireth and the stranger only a few feet before, when the man came into view. The dark magic aura mixed and mingled with the man's own, and the blue haired girl knew that he must be the one causing the new aura. Some blood blobbed up into floating masses around the girl from the pool at her feet, though this action was conscious this time. The corridor was too small to effectively use her scythe, and she was using the weapon to support her standing up to boot, so the floating liquid was her only means of attack and viable defense, if it came to that. For now, they floated harmlessly around her, waiting for the man to speak or make a move.

Keir Sullivan

Keir knew that he should try to do something. Just lingering there, away from the others, seemed strange, and left him vulnerable to attacks from behind. After a moment's thought, he decided to follow Arya, as he realized that she wouldn't be able to use her massive scythe very well in the small corridor. Areas like this were where small weapons came in handy. As he passed the point where Ireth was questioning the first stranger, however, Keir began to regret his decision to help deal with the other one. He could feel a heavy, oppressive darkness in the air. It mixed with the temple's existing aura, seeming to close in around him and blot out the light. He began to feel a little nauseous and stopped his advance. Up ahead, an ominous figure could be seen.

The figure was wrapped in a dark, tattered cloak, and a bag was slung over its shoulder. Despite the fact that it grasped a torch in its gloved hand, the darkness that Keir had felt seemed to spread from it. He watched as the blood pooling around Arya began to float threateningly around her. Following her lead, he attempted to hold his knife at the ready. He doubted that he looked very intimidating, though. He was feeling fairly sick at this point. Still, he held his ground and was ready to do some damage if the need arose.

Pansa held out his hands to show he meant no harm. He pointed to Arya and motioned that he had smelled the scent of blood from down the passageway. He reached into his bag and held out a salve. He motioned for them to apply it to Arya's wounds. He inwardly cursed his awkwardness. Training alone on a mountain for a few years didnt help his social skills.

He waited patiently as they looked at him warily. He was a stranger to them. They had every right to be suspicious. The strange girl who held her dagger to his throat was of elven descent. He had only read of them in books and seen pictures in scrolls. It was the first time he had seen on in person. Her ears were so pointy!

"I seek the treasure to hide it and all those with similiar intentions as I from civilization. The relic is best in the hands of those who wish for peace and the end to suffering."

His voice came out rusty as if he hadn't used it in ages. Well he hadn't. Ninjas were silent warriors after all.

He waited for her to respond anxiously. He preferred not to be skewered.

@WeepingAngel525

Ireth smirked and deciding he wasn't a threat for now she sheathed her dagger. She looked at the salve curious to what it was but said nothing it was up to the other two if they wanted it or not.

His mention of the relic made her tense. "Whose the judge of what peace is for the greater good?" She asked thinking about it. What may be peaceful for one nation may end up wreaking havoc on another.

With: Keir, Ireth, Arya, Vanahell

Pansa sensed her uneasiness and attempted to clarify his words.

"I intend to hide it away from all nations in a vault on in a place unreachable by anyone who isnt pure of heart. Once i have attained my goals and it is safe from all humanity, I will retire to the mountains again."

Pansa retrieved a scroll from his pack. He unrolled it for all to see. It was a map marking all the known and legendary sites the relic had been found in the past. There were different markers for purity of heart of each seeker who discovered it.

"If you look almost every time it was easier to find, evil people have used it to further their own selfish desires. Everytime a hero finds it, it's near unattainable."

Pansa pointed to the ruins they were in on the map.

"This is the last known place it was rumored to be. The only thing stopping most adventurers are the corpses littering the entrance. This place is supposed to prevent it from being found by anyone. I'm suggesting the relic be placed somewhere unreachable by mortal hands."

Ireth looked at the map that he took out and was now even more curious to who he was. "So, now it's hard to find because the intentions of those trying to find it our good?" She asked looking around.

"Who are you to be given what would sound like a noble task, if it be your true intentions?" She quickly asked and looked him over half tempted to read his mind and his intentions. There was a sense of darkness about him and it made her very uneasy. She recalled this feeling before and shuddered. That feeling was when she ran her friend through. Could it be the same sense of magic? Of darkness?

This put Ireth over the edge and she pulled her dagger out again. "Who are you?" She demanded pointing the edge at him and stood ready to attack. She didn't seem right she was off as her hand trembled. The thought of what happened in her past was beginning to be too much to bear. She wondered if this was the temple's doing.

That . . . was a shorter walk than he expected. Vanathell halted as a blue-haired young woman proceeded to obstruct his path, eyeing her weapon and the blood floating about her warily. He made no immediate motion except the lower the torch, deliberately keeping it away from his face, as he studied her. With all of the blood staining her clothes and floating about, the first thought that came to mind was blood mage. And one with a scythe, at that. The sheer irony of both of these things struck him, eliciting a coarse sound that was probably supposed to be laughter of some kind from his hollow throat.

Someone directly behind the girl also caught his attention--a young man, from the look of it--and Van cleared his throat. And these weren't the only two, he noted, though if not for the conversation between the two individuals farther back he might not have noticed them at all. So . . . that made four adventurers, at least that were immediately nearby. Were there more, or just this group? He'd have to ponder on that later, though--the blue-haired girl was more of an immediate priority. He had approached them in hopes of information, and he'd hate to ruin the conversation in the back by starting anything unseemly.

"I overheard fighting nearby," the lich said, his voice dry and harsh. "I take it you and your companions have run afoul of these beasts as well."

Pansa stood still as the blade the elven girl brandished was pressing into his throat. Suddenly a cloud of smoke surrounded him and he vanished. He had used the smoke screen to scale the walls and sit in a hidden alcove above the group. He took advance of his safe position to answer her question.

"I prefer if you don't keep sticking your dagger at me. It's rude to ask for my name and my goals when you haven't given your own."

Pansa cleared his throat before continuing.

"My name is none of your concern. Your hostility was unwarranted but I do understand. Maybe when i can trust you more I'll tell you. As for who I am, let's say I am a guardian of sorts. Lesser relics in my homeland of similiar power are guarded by my clan. We are what you could call ninjas. We differ from other clans as we work for the greater good not for our personal agenda."

His glowing eyes locked with elven girl. He looked into her eyes for a moment and sighed.

"I see. You have experienced a death of someone close?"

The bloody girl regarded the man carefully, blood colored eyes sweeping over him and pondering his trustworthiness. The dark aura around him did not lead Arya to be overly trusting of him, but she supposed that she didn't look all that friendly, herself, being half-covered in blood and all. "You could say that," the girl replied to the man's harsh voice. The blood around her continued to float aimlessly, not moving towards aggression, but not giving in any openings, either.

The girl stood still for a few moments, feeling like she should say something, though she had no idea what. She had a hard even time trying to find words when there were only the two others with her, and now there were a total of four people around her. Arya had never liked crowds, crowds usually brought bad things to her due to her heritage -- her features made it difficult to hide the fact that she was a hybrid. Now, even if she looked intimidating, being covered with blood and wielding a giant scythe, inside she felt totally exposed and vulnerable. How could she think of what to say when she was busy fighting these feelings? Indeed, her face remained neutral -- apparently she had found the will to put up her mask once more -- while the pool of blood at her feet bubbled and twisted idly. The blobs floating around her, though, where rather calm.

Ireth glared seeing the smoke and that he was gone. She wasn't startled to hear his voice and looked toward where he had hidden to. "I don't trust dark magic is all." Ireth said in her defense.

She looked away when he spoke of death and clenched her fist she didn't care if it would hurt she closed her eyes and blocked her mind no one must know. "My past is of no concern." She snapped.
