Fantasy The Lost Treasure of Creation

Kokoro Himura
Using her large paws and strong limbs, Kokoro attempted to push the boulder out of the way of the tomb entrance. She was pushing with all of her strength, but was having no luck. Frustrated, she let out a loud roar that could be heard for miles, before settling down and trying to think this over more rationally. There has to be another way inside, she reasoned, pacing back and forth along the length of the boulder that blocked her way. Jumping up and climbing on top of the boulder, the tiger began to sniff around, bright blue eyes trying to catch any sign of weakness in the rocks, the walls, anything that would help her get into the temple.

((Posting for Kokoro so she's at least keeping somewhat in the same timeline as everyone else ^^''))

Keir Sullivan

Keir heard Arya yell "Watch out!" and jumped to the side. The monster, almost as large as he was, barreled past, crashing against a wall behind them. It had black fur and was covered in spikes, and its six paws each contained sharp claws stained with blood. Keir was startled as droplets of a dark red liquid flew past him and into the monster's face, temporarily blinding it. He turned around to see Arya holding her scythe ready for an attack. Blood pooled around her, and more was being drawn in. Keir couldn't help but shiver at the sight. Was it some sort of dark magic? Thinking about the water pool behind her earlier, he guessed that she just had some sort of power over liquids, and the blood was just the closest thing in the desert. He turned towards the monster again, drawing his long knife from its sheathe on his leg.

Keir darted forward, hoping to get a hit in before the monster got up again. It was writhing on the ground, trying to get the blood out of its eyes. His knife bounced off one of the many spikes protruding from the monster's back. They would make it a bit more difficult, as they provided the monster with protection. This time Keir leaped for the head, slashing at an eye. He managed to cut it out. This enraged the monster. It suddenly got back to its feet and leaped at him. He managed to jump out of the way, but the rubble underfoot tripped him up and he fell to the floor, cutting his right hand on a jagged rock. The monster turned its remaining eye, red and filled with malice, towards him.

❀❀❀ Unila Crys-Feathri ❀❀❀

Unila couldn't help but giggle at his confession, despite her attempt to stifle it. "It's okay, I make mistakes all the time!" She smiled brightly, memories of her silly mistakes filling her mind. Turning her head towards the front, she examined the mining village now literally meters in front of her. A stone well lay in the center, moss and vines patterned on from age. A simple wooden bucket swayed in the center, newer than the well, but still relatively old. Tall and short buildings alike caught her view, most made of the same kind of rough stone. She was interrupted in her examination by the sight of a fruit stand, placed outside a house. It was strange in her opinion to have one in a mining village, but she wouldn't judge, especially since she needed it. Excitedly, her eyes shone various shades of orange and red as she pulled Geir by the arm towards the stand. She examined the various fruits on sale, hand unknowingly still clutched onto Geir's arm, deciding which to buy. An old woman stood behind the wooden counter, chuckling lightly at the scene before her. "Do you have anything you want? I'll buy it for you~" She teased playfully, "I might get an apple... or a plum.. or an orange.." She trailed off in deep thought.

Ireth finally got the courage to continue on. She walked down the hallway and found another door that led to a smaller hallway. She took it keeping her dagger out ready for any surprise.

She didn't expect to be circling around and found herself coming out of the other side where Arya and Kier were with a rather vicious monster "oh great." She muttered and while the monster was focused on kier she lunged forward for an attack piercing the creature in its back.

Keir Sullivan

Keir was shocked to see the elf lunge into his field of vision. Hadn't she gone the other way? He watched as she managed to maneuver her arm between the long spikes of the creature's back and stab it. The wound wasn't lethal, but it was sufficient to surprise the monster and distract it. Keir was able to roll to the side and get back to his feet. "Quite a surprise to see you, elf," he commented as he searched for his knife. He found it half hidden behind a rock and tried to pick it up, but the blood flowing from the wound in his hand made it more than a little difficult. "Thanks for the save, though. I thought I was a goner." He gave up trying to use his right hand and switched to his left, which was useable, but not as reliable.

Keir once again leapt at the monster, this time holding his knife forward to stab it. He managed to hit it, just narrowly avoiding impaling his arm on a spike that looked like a blade and was over a foot long. The monster let out a terrible shriek, and he couldn't help but cover his ears. He quickly rolled to the side as it took this chance to attack him. In the process, he noticed that the elf's ankle was bleeding and looked as if it had been clawed. Had she already been attacked? Keir decided that mentioning it might annoy her and turned once again to face the monster, which now had dark blood matting the fur on its back.

Arya Tinuviel
Arya watched the battle unfold, the events happening rather quickly. The arrival of the elf girl was lucky, as it gave Arya time to prepare for an attack. Moving her scythe back into her left hand, and ignoring the torch that she had dropped during the surprise attack, the girl used her right hand to reach to the flask of water on her belt that she had bought in town, and undid the cap. Water began flowing up from the flask, mixing with the blood that had already been following her, as well as with some new blood from the cuts on the elf and her companion. I'll have to heal them after this, the girl thought briefly. Then, controlling the liquids consciously this time, Arya brought her right arm up to direct the fluid up above the monster. "Blood rain," she muttered the name of her attack as she harshly brought her arm down, the blood and water mixture speeding in sharp droplets towards the monster and the ground around it, the droplets moving fast and hard enough to pierce even the ground beneath it. While the liquid rained down from above, Arya shifted the weight of her scythe in her left hand, then brought it around to swing towards the monster's neck, hoping that if one attack missed, the other would hit the creature, especially since this move left her a bit open for a counterattack.

Geir Brandr Ignatius
Geir looked around the village with interest as they walked through it, though something about the place didn't feel right. I know it's a small village, but...where are all the people? he thought, noting the nearly empty streets. Suddenly snapped out of his thoughts by Unila pulling him to the side, the man nearly tripped over himself at the sudden change in direction, but managed to stay upright. He hoped that no one had seen that, but the old lady chuckling from behind the fruit stand told him otherwise. "Ah, I'm good on the fruit, thanks," he told the girl, though he did take a look at their selection. "Oranges are supposed to be in season now," he mentioned to Unila as she thought out loud about what she wanted to buy, then directed his attention towards the old woman behind the counter.

"Excuse me, ma'am, but if you don't mind my asking, where is everyone?" Geir asked the woman, glowing yellow eyes watching for a reaction to his inquiry.

The woman's face seemed to fall, but she answered the teal haired man's question. "Most have packed up and left town to find work elsewhere. Trouble's comin' out of that mine, an' most folks around here aren't dumb enough to stick around," she told him, then added, "Except the mine's foreman, he's been going back to the mine like nothin's happened, says there's somethin' special in there." After this last bit of information, the old woman brightened up again, changing the subject back to her wares as she turned back towards Unila. "Find a fruit you like, deary?"

Keir Sullivan

The monster stood no chance. Arya's two attacks tore it apart, leaving it a bloody lump. Its head rolled off to the side, severed by the swing of her scythe. Keir moved closer and prodded the monster's body experimentally. The only movements were the last muscular reactions of the legs. Figuring that it might come in handy, he cut out one of the more blade-like spikes and put it in a bag on his belt. It was extremely hard and sharp, and could be made into a useful, if crude, weapon.

Finding the eye he had cut out earlier still on the floor, he picked it up. It was red and solid, almost gemlike in quality, so he polished it off with his sleeve. As he did so, it rolled in his hand. Keir jumped in surprise, nearly dropping it. Could the eye still see? What sort of sorcery was it? He decided it might be interesting to keep, and pocketed it. Keir started to search for his lost torch again. He found it, but discovered a problem. He wanted to keep his knife out for protection, but his right hand couldn't hold anything. He shrugged, figuring that Arya had a torch if they needed one. He moved back to rejoin her.

Arya Tinuviel
Oh thank goodness, Arya thought as the monster fell to her attacks, glad that it wasn't able to counter. That never would have been able to work if the monster hadn't been preoccupied with the other two, and she knew it. The new blood from the monster began to pool around her, and the inevitable blood spatter that had landed on her idly trailed down to join the large puddle. Ugh, it's going to take forever to get all of this out of my clothes, she thought with annoyance, the blood bubbling and steaming her reaction as she calmed down. Outwardly, she looked utterly unaffected as she turned towards Keir and the elf girl. "Thank you for your help," she told the elf girl sincerely, then directed her next sentence to the both of them. "Let me see your wounds."

Briefly leaning her scythe against the wall to free up her hands, she took Keir's wounded hand without waiting for a response, holding it up gently with her right hand and placing her left hand over the cut. A small, bluish glow emanated from the cut, and it started to stitch itself back together. Arya's expression remained rather unchanged throughout this process, though the pool of blood around her began boiling and twisting up into the air frantically, trails of the red liquid making its way up and around the girl's body, until finally she released the man's hand, the cut that had been there now gone. Reaching out to the wall to lean on it for support for a moment, Arya closed her eyes briefly while catching her breath, before turning towards the elf girl. Kneeling down to get a better look at the elf's wound, Arya hoped the woman wouldn't object to her help, since the elf had helped them moments ago.

Keir Sullivan

Keir attempted to protest as Arya grabbed his hand. He wasn't used to physical contact, and it made him uncomfortable. He couldn't deny the relief that the magic she was using provided his hand, though. He hadn't been expecting his hand to be useable for another few days. It was definitely helpful to have someone who knew how to use magic on his side. The blood rising up around Arya worried him a bit, though, as he had just seen what it could do. He hoped that it was just subconscious. Once she finished healing his hand, he went to grab his torch, which he held in his now free left hand, and returned to sit on a piece of rubble.

Keir was already feeling worn out. He tried not to show it, as he thought it would seem pathetic, but couldn't help but breathe more heavily than usual. Many past illnesses still haunted him, and they were the primary cause of his weakened condition. If not for that, he probably would have tried to brave the ruins alone, like the elf. He cursed his inability to do so. Trying to avoid feeling sorry for himself, he looked around the area again. Keir noticed that Arya had gone over to the elf with the intent of healing her. He wondered how she would react.

Ireth nodded to Kier "well it looked like you needed some help." She said pulled her dagger away and took a step back. She watched the other two make their attacks and was impress with Arya.

As the blood rain came down on the monster Ireth stepped away a bit nervous of such power. She breathed a sigh of relief when the monster laid in a slump. "There is much dark magic here." She noted watching Arya heal Kier and make her way over. The elf didn't protest healing magic was quite common where she was from. "I walked down the hall and suddenly my torch went out and something grabbed me and began to drag me further into the hallway. I was able to cut it off but I guess its claws got me pretty good." She explained.

"I doubt this is the only big monster around here." She sighed and watched kier take his treasures. "I know you two are helping each other out, do you mind a third to accompany you?" She asked staring intently at them. She would know if they were lying to her.

Keir Sullivan

Keir shrugged in response to the elf's request. As she had passed them outside the temple, he had seen the contempt in her eyes in regards to their partnership, and figured that she must really think that it was necessary to ask such a thing. As long as he got enough treasure to be able to meet basic needs, he was fine with it. She had been helpful in battle, and, after seeing that monster, he would be glad for another person watching his back. "I have no problem with it," he replied to the elf. "How about you, Arya?" He looked to his companion, curious about her response. He knew that she was after something of great value, and wondered if she would see the elf as an obstacle to reaching that.

❀❀❀ Unila Crys-Feathri ❀❀❀

After a few more moments of thought, Unila, with a cheerful smile on her face, requested "May I have an orange and a plum?" She had taken Geir's recommendation to heart, as well as choosing a smaller piece of fruit to finish appeasing her hunder. Fruit was perfect at the moment, as she had run out of her supply of water and food. With it's natural juice, both needs were satisfied at once. Her eyes followed the old woman's movements, as she carefully gathered a nice orange and plum in her hands. Snapping out of her daze, she opened her small leather satchel to gather a few gold coins, sparkling in the sunlight. She placed them upon the wooden counter, in easy reach for the woman. As she took the fruit off her hands, her eyes shone with excitement to eat such wonderful creations of nature. The orange, almost perfectly round, rolled along her palm despite it's large size. A lovely dark purple, the plum sat still on the other hand, awaiting it's fate. As she carefully balanced both fruit on one hand, she re-opened her satchel to drop the plum in a small pouch. Despite her innocent smile, she pondered the words the woman had spoken. The 'somethin' special' could mean the treasure of creation.. But I shouldn't get my hopes up just yet.

With a little click from her satchel closing once again, they headed off into town, exploring the area as she delicately peeled her orange. Within a few minutes, the mine came into view. Her eyes analysed it, as she dropped the peelings into the bin next to it. Wooden fences outlined the entrance, towering high above until it connected to a sign. The writing wasn't very clear in her opinion, but supposedly it only said the word 'Mine'. As her eyes travelled inwards, she could feel a cold aura emanating, not particularly evil, but very..dead-like. As if it was a walk straight into hell. A little shiver ran up her spine, but the excitement within her grew.
This will be an adventure! She sat down on a wooden bench nearby, glancing at Geir occasionally as she ate her orange. "I'll save my plum for later.. I want to go down the mine. Right now." She grinned at Geir playfully, "Care to come with me?" Her orange was hastily finished, as she began a little stretch to ready her body for the possible dangers to come.

Thiero Atrias

Information was a luxury to come by; Thiero had been wandering for quite some time now, his rations holding steady thanks to his own endurance. But where was he to go? He had checked towns, villages, cities - even the slums! Most wouldn't dare to travel into some of these places, but the elf held no fear towards it. More often than not, he was unbothered by the people that he encountered or the things that he saw, staying out of trouble so as not to draw attention to himself. By now, he had received word of something that would help direct him on his way. Traveling out from his most recent resting point, Thiero felt his entire being boil with determination and untapped strength.

'Ora...' he thought, legs moving from a walking pace to a straight and conservative run, 'Wait for me!'

After quite some time of running, the elf returned to a stable and brisk walk. He had trained himself enough so that the sprint he just completed was virtually nothing against his stamina. Thankfully.

Thiero was almost totally unaware of his direction or location, yet moved as if he was completely confident in his sense of direction. Which, quite frankly, he sort of was. It was the trees that guided the green-clad male, steering him through the brush and trees like a light in the dark. His walk soon ceased, body growing stiff and alert when the sound of a resonant roar reached his ears; a grand beast roamed this area, sounding more frustrated than a predator should.

Thiero wasn't a hunter - or at least, not a hunter of natural beasts and creatures - but even he couldn't resist the call. With feather-like steps, he cut through the growth of the forest until he came across a considerably open clearing. There stood a tall, stone formation, with a tiger prowling around it as if it wanted to crush through. He watched it carefully, not wanting to disturb it until its "curiosity" of the boulder it stood upon had him moving from the shadows.

"Do you need help?" the elf called out, approaching Kokoro.

Sientrus Wayne

The wealth he carried with him earned quite a lot of information. It was almost amazing how little could go into the price of the known. Still, the King didn't know where he was to go next. He explored many towns, even became friends with tribes of nameless creatures that roamed the environments surrounding these populated clusters; they all helped steer him, and only a few knew of his identity. It was nothing big, nothing important, but like this he even managed to arrange alliances between Raphaeli and a vast array of collectives. Frankly, it amazed Sientrus that bonds were better made with other cultures and groups when a figure of power comes with appearance of a wandering man.

His attire wasn't as "humble" as it could've been - he didn't dress in robes the color of the earth - but instead wore a dark gray, weathered cloak over his white and icy blue trimmed articles. This appearance, if in the right light and with the right energy, could easily make him appear like a phantom, cold and haunting. It was the clothing he felt most comfortable in, and even though comfort wasn't his main focus it always helped to feel natural in a foreign era. That wasn't to say this era was foreign, just that it was a time of generalized confusion among the common man that wanted nothing more than to continue living as he always had.

Sientrus exited his most recent town, the hood of his cloak up and over his head, shielding so much of him that only the bottom half of his face - save for the light of his sapphire eyes - and the dark gray boots on his feet were the only things visible. This settlement provide plenty of useful information as well as supplies, and now the King was on his way. He had plans to go unbothered and uninterrupted, but he caught sight of someone on the road, seated in what he could describe as a thoughtful manner. It wasn't his business to pry, but his better nature got the best of him; standing before this one individual, he spoke up.

"Are you alright?" the male asked, "Are you feeling well?"

The well-being of others took a strangely high priority for him, and he wanted to be sure. Perhaps this man was lost, too, and would require Sientrus' aid.

@Psithurism

Cynbal Dangrol

Cynbal regarded the man who approached him with a calm expression.

"Are you alright?" The strange man asked. "Are you feeling well?" A small chuckle came from Cynbal at the man's worry.

"Oh yes I happen to be perfectly alright. Do I see array?" Cynbal asked, not particularly out of curiosity, but more in a tone of amusment. Here this man approached him, out of the many who were wandering and standing around. And asked of his being state of mind. Yes amusing it was to Cynbal as he replied. A strange movement in the skies caught his eye and his head tilted ever so slightly to see what It was. 'A girl?' The faint structure of a girl was lazily drifting through the skies above. Looking alike to the pictures of air nymphs he was taught about, this caught Cynbals attention. Rarely were nymphs seen, known to be a myth. But maybe one with powers over the sky? It might be the glare of the sun, but Cynbal knew better. This being was moving, amd consistant in its shape and structure.

He wondered if the man that approached him noticed the girl, and wanted to see if anyone else had noticed the strange being in the skies.

Eri Zabelan

Watching over the crowd, she noticed many with all their differences and composures. How sweet it is to see how unique each human-like creature is. There was even a man with antlers who seemed to walk with purpose and dignity, yet he obviously had not much to offer but words. As she watched this strange man, another human male approached him, with an aura of concern.

Amused, the man with antlers replied, before she saw him look up. Almost like he could see her. To test to see if this was true, she slowly made her way, looking in a different direction, before looking back at the man. His eyes had followed her. 'So he does know where I am.' She thought uneasily. But no matter she could lose him in a second if she wished. Eri decided to wait and see how the men reacted. @Hoki

Sientrus Wayne

A bit confused by the redirecting of attention, Sientrus turned his gaze to the sky just like this antlered man did. His sapphire orbs skimmed the expanse above them, trying to find what was so interesting when he caught a glimpse. Well, it wasn't exactly a glimpse, it was more of a mirage-like sight. Maybe it was a bit high up, and a little to bright for his human eyes to see perfectly, but nonetheless he saw it.

"How peculiar..." the King muttered to himself, lifting a hand to shield over his eyes. It truly was a peculiar thing, and it sparked a sense of what one might call innocent curiosity.

@Psithurism

Cynbal Dangrol

Cynbal glanced back down at the man, to see that he had caught sight of the creature as well. Muttering something that Cynbal could not catch, the man seemed to almost forget about Cynabal. Almost although.

"Might you have a clue as to what we are looking at, strange sir?" Cynbal asked, as his gaze lifted back up to the skies. Slowly the strange air figure came to rest not fifteen feet sbove their craned necks. A strange creature he thought, but his eyes stayed, wondering if it will disappear if he looks away a second time.

Eri Zabelan

Eri chuckled. Both strange men had their sights on er as she drifted through the skym they seemed clever enough to conclude that she was not an illusion. Slowly she decended, until she was only apart from them by ten feet. Meeting their gazes one by one she smiled. Pondering whether she should speak or not, Eri stayed silent until she came to her conclusion. These men were sharp to have noticed her at all. Maybe she would interacy physically with a being this town. After planning on staying hidden. @Hoki

Eihrodeign always did get a small chuckle of irony out of his daughters title, the Walker, given how often she laid along the side of his sword when he had it resting over his shoulder. He didn't have a set course, nor a set path to follow, but if supplies grew too scarce he could always transform and find the nearest settlement for his daughter and himself to rest up.

"-so I obviously couldn't have left him there, you know? I mean he was forward and dumb, but drunks tend to be, you know? Anyhow I tried to help him back to his home, but he eventually fell off and away into a pig pen, rolled around in the muck and curled up with a sow. I felt that rather than report him for you to deal with, his errant hand would have to explain it's position around the sow's body upon his awakening and it would be proper recompense. Still, you could have totally swallowed him whole and that would have gotten the message across to, but we all know that it would-"

Lani continued to drone on about her interaction with the drunken man that had grabbed at her rump a few days prior as she discussed the plethora of options for dealing with him and the consequences of each. As proud as Eihro was that he had a learned daughter that could map out these complex patterns, he was more grateful that he had long ago learned well how to tune people out as the dissertation proceeded.

As they both continued along their way, Eihrodeign with his walking and Lani with her speaking they eventually walked into a nigh abandoned township and Eihro made a point to assess the situation given to them as Lani finally tired of her rant, the odd person gaining her attention as she quieted down, sitting up on the sword's side and ensuring her cloak properly covered the needed features.

Eventually the Eihro's eyes fell upon a woman and a man, the former eating an orange. Neither looked like they were from these parts, so it stuck out to them that they were here amongst the fleeting remains of the town. Not many would willingly travel out to a place with nothing to offer unless there was in fact something to offer, and knowing the hunt for the Lost Treasure was on, Eihrodeign knew he needed to acquaint himself.

"Good day sir, madam," his voice practically thundered, despite the quiet tone he took, "My daughter and I have been travelling a ways before coming across this township, but it seems all but abandoned. Would either of you know the reason for this? Also, before any questions are answered, allow me to introduce myself. I am Eihrodeign the Guardian, Ice dragon. This is my daughter, Lani the Walker, Air dragon. A pleasure to make the acquaintance of both of you. "

As the towering Eihro greeted the pair Lani hopped off his blade and landed easily beside him, their stark size difference blatant as Lani came only up about as high as Eihro's waist. The girl smiled a waved cheerfully as she awaited the conversation to be returned.

What were they looking at indeed... Sientrus didn't know how or what to identify this girl as, and could only think to do one thing. He lifted a hand and removed his hood, letting long, soft, silvery white locks cascade against his shoulders; sapphire blue eyes shimmered in the day's light. A cool smile graced his lips, the human putting a hand against his heart and bowing to the female. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss," he greeted with a smooth, silky tone.

In this lighting, in this way, he looked nothing less of a god.

Arya Tinuviel
Arya took the elf girl's ankle in her hands, the bluish glow beginning to emanate from under her hands once more. Again, the blood bubbled and twisted around her while she healed the wound, and this time Arya's expression slipped just a little, showing a hint of a grimace as she felt the pain of the wound tenfold. Normally she could hold her neutral expression for a wound as simple as this one, but having just healed Keir's wound a moment before and feeling the pain of that wound tenfold as well, the combination of the pain had led to the small slip up, which Arya quickly covered up by hanging her head a little lower, so her expression was more hidden.

After she had finished healing the elf's wound, Arya stood again, once more bracing herself against the wall while she caught her breath. While she rested, she thought over the elf's offer.
I could probably handle these smaller monsters on my own, she thought, but wasn't so sure that would be the case if any of them attacked at once. Besides, who knew if there were bigger, stronger monsters further in the ruins. I suppose an extra pair of eyes and ears would come in handy...besides, it's not like I would have been able to pull off that last attack if I hadn't had both of them distracting that thing first. Still, if this elf is after the same thing I am, that could cause trouble...if it's even here. Eventually, Arya decided that more help was better than less. Besides, the woman was basically asking them for help, and Arya couldn't refuse something like that.

Finally, Arya spoke. It had been a few moments after Keir had asked her opinion, probably a little longer than what would be normal. "It would be beneficial to form a larger group here. A strong aura lingers in this place, much more heavily than it should. There are probably more monsters ahead," she told them, finally standing up straight from her lean on the wall, and going to pick up her scythe again. Taking her weapon in her left hand, she then searched the ground for the torch that she had dropped earlier, though it seemed to have disappeared. Strange... she thought, but put the thought out of her mind for the moment, the only hint of her nervousness being the blood bubbling at her feet once more. She turned her blood red eyes towards the elf girl, probably looking like quite the blood-stained mess. "My name is Arya. That's Keir. What should we call you?"

Geir Brandr Ignatius
Geir's gold eyes took in the sight of the mine in front of him. The mine seemed to be a bit run down, as if no one had been working it for quite a few weeks. There were few signs of at least one person still working -- a cart on tracks into the mine that was less dusty than the others, a couple of tools laying near the entrance that looked like they might have been used recently, so on and so forth -- but for the most part, the mine looked utterly abandoned. Not even the birds chirped this close to the mine, though in actuality, that was pretty common wherever Geir went, as his dragon blood tended to scare off many creatures. Still, the added silence did give the mine an extra eerie air to it, and Geir found himself wondering just what secrets the mine held for them to discover.

"I want to explore the mine, too," Geir responded to Unila's offer, giving her an affirmative nod. Before the pair could enter the mine, however, another pair approached them. Geir had a slight look of annoyance on his expression at the interruption, but he supposed it couldn't be helped. A little odd that he would be introducing their species and powers like that, he thought, his head tilting to the side a little as his glowing yellow eyes looked over the pair. The man was very tall, taller than even Geir, who was fairly tall himself. The teal-haired man wasn't used to having to look up at others. The girl, however, was much shorter, and the comparison was almost comical.

"You noticed the lack of people too, eh?" Geir replied with a shrug, silently debating whether he should disclose what little amount of information he had gathered. For now, he left it at that remark, which acknowledged the problem, but did not claim knowledge of the cause one way or the other. If Unila decided to fill them in, or if the pair pressed the matter, then Geir supposed it couldn't be helped, but he hoped they would leave it at that. Especially since information was an important resource, and this bit of information could give them a head start if there really was the mythical treasure laying somewhere down that mine.

"I'm Geir Brandr Ignatius, pleasure to make your acquaintance," he told them, using his full name in response to the pair introducing themselves with their full titles. Besides, he wanted to make sure his name was pronounced correctly before Unila introduced him as 'gear'. Remembering his little jab at her earlier, the man decided to introduce his companion as well, "Oh, and this here is Ila-for-short," he grinned, his glowing eyes glancing back at Unila with a mischievous expression.

Kokoro Himura
Startled, Kokoro's ears pinned back against her head as she swiveled with a defensive snarl, claws out and ready to attack if need be. Instead, her bright blue eyes settled on an elf, who had apparently just come from the trees bordering the desert landscape. Her tiger features settling into a less frightening expression, her claws retracted back into her paws as the large feline processed what the man was saying. Tilting her head to the side in a thoughtful manner, Kokoro sat down on her haunches, bright eyes still keeping a close watch on the man. Her tail twitched behind her as her form began to swiftly change, feline features quickly morphing into more human ones, until the tiger that had been sitting on the boulder was replaced with that of a woman with long, orange hair, clad in a red dress with yellow trimmings, though the woman still retained the ears and tails of a tiger, and her bright blue eyes remained unchanged.

"I guess you can say that," the woman replied. She stood, then jumped down off of the boulder she had been climbing on, bare feet landing deftly in the soft sand. Now down at the same level as the elf, Kokoro leaned back against the boulder blocking her way. "I need in to this tomb, but it seems my way is blocked. Would you mind helping me find a way in?" she requested, her tail swaying back and forth behind her as she waited for an answer.

Ireth watched as Arya healed her ankle and noticed the pain she felt. "Thank you." She said when the girl had finished.

Her attention was on kier as he spoke and then to Arya waiting on her decision. The elf was surprised that the decision seemed to take awhile. She focused on Arya and tried to read her, after all Ireth needed to work on her telepathy skills. She got a little bit of Arya's thoughts but not much 'if I'm after the same thing.' She caught on to that part and wondered if they were indeed after the same thing. Ireth grimaced and rubbed the right side of her temple as a small ache had formed. She shook her head was that much energy spent to really try to read this girl.

Finally an answer and Ireth was glad for a yes. These ruins were dangerous. "My name is Ireth." She said quietly. 'Keep to the formalities... Business.' The elf reminded herself. She didn't want a repeat of what happened with her friend. A betrayal like that caused a deep wound. Her kind were loyal to one another and close being practically kin. She had that ripped away when her best friend whom she saw as a sister betrayed her for something so petty as money. Ireth tensed as her hand slightly trembled recalling the incident of fatally stabbing her friend through the heart and held her while she died in her arms. It had to be done for the greater good, but a broken trust would wound anyone. An elf breaking such trust amongst another was practically unheard of and would cause distrust amongst any. If her friend betrayed her whose to say no one else will especially these two strangers she had just met, Kier and Arya.

Keir Sullivan

Keir was glad that Arya also agreed. He was in no mood for any sort of disagreement right now, and hated picking sides. "It's nice to meet you, Ireth," he replied upon hearing her name. He tried to steady his breathing, and moved to get up from his seated position. Immediately feeling dizzy, he decided to stay where he was for a little longer. Keir wondered what Ireth was thinking about as he observed the somewhat distant look in her eyes. She looked almost conflicted. He decided that he would just wait for someone else to make a move to continue. As he rested, he sunk back into his own thoughts. "Could they both be looking for the lost treasure?" He wondered. He'd always thought it was some sort of fairy tale. To be able to wish for anything one wanted seemed too good to be true. If only he could get his hands on something like that, one wish would be all he needed. One wish could fix everything. "What could they want it for?" Keir muttered. Startled that he had spoken out loud, he glanced around, hoping that no one had heard. He had to be more careful.

When had the world become so full of monsters? Vanathell snorted as one of several small beasts went skittering past him, its squeals of terror echoing down the corridor. A poisonous green glow faded from view as the beast fled to escape his signature flames, albeit in vain. Nothing could run from its own skin. He shuffled forward along the corridor, and the few cat-like prowlers remaining bared their sabre-like teeth and snarled at him. One swatted in his general direction, but a stamp of his foot too close to its personal space sent it following its flaming brethren.

At least he didn't have to feel guilty about draining these things. The rest of the pack grumbled a few more times in his general direction before stalking along, and Vanathell stooped to pick up a long sabretooth from one of several corpses scattered about. It was heavier than he initially expected, and he held it up in withered fingers to the light provided by his torch-bearer. The skeletal servant could have been a statue for how still it was, with no unsteady muscular or nervous systems to make it shake even in the smallest shivers--something the sorcerer's eyes were grateful for in the dim light.

"Hm." Unfortunately, there wasn't much to be gleaned from one small part of the whole. As far as he could tell, the creature was biological in nature, and not some magical construct, although there was something inherently unnatural about it. Perhaps he should return "home" with one of the corpses left by these monsters and test it? They were certainly interesting, but it was a shame he had no alchemical tools with him. Vanathell hummed thoughtfully once more, and his torch-bearer freed a knapsack from its clavicle. At the very least, he could bring along the teeth and the claws. If these creatures had any sort of use to him, it would be in their natural weapons.

But where had these beasts come from, and why? That was the real question. The last of the bones he was interested in gathering went into the knapsack, and the skeleton replaced it once more over its shoulder. Change was in the air, one even Vanathell couldn't ignore.

And apparently voices were, too.

The lich turned back towards the way he had come, and pulled his hood back up over his face. When had others entered these old ruins? For that matter, why? Van pursed his thin lips, face drawn with concern as it dawned on him they might have heard his kerfuffle with the monsters. Perhaps those very monsters were the reason anyone else was here. Bounties and the promise of treasure were often persuasive enough for certain travelers, after all, so perhaps he had nothing to worry about? Then again. . . .

Well, it wasn't like he couldn't take care of himself. He pulled a pair of bulky hide gloves over his hands that reached all the way up to his elbows, and tucked them under the sleeves of his worn tunic. Without a word, the skeletal torch-bearer handed him the light, and he dismissed the creature. It clattered to the floor a bit more loudly than he would have liked, pieces and bones scattering as the magic holding it together released it, and Van drew the cloak a bit more tightly around himself. Never hurt to be careful, after all.
