Alex was moving towards Nate, and he didn’t realize it. He looked behind him when he heard Carlos and laughed. “I am totally going to win.” Alex said with a confident smile. Well, it was confident until he realized too late that Nate was right there beside him. But Alex didn’t have the energy to move faster, he was going to get caught. He just knew it. Nate was close enough to him to catch him.​

“I think you should guess again!” As Carlos called out, Nate pushed himself once more, kicking in the last of his adrenaline and energy, and at first scissored two fingers on Alex’s sleeve and then wrapped one arm around his back and shoulder. He slowed, his legs giving out. “Hey, beautiful, I think we win.” Carlos, seeing their win, slowed to a walk because he could catch up soon.

As Alex turned to call back to Carlos, he felt the fingers on his sleeve and then the arm around his back and shoulder. Alex slowed down to a stop, panting softly as he tried catch his breath. “Well, hello baby. That was.. a good strategy.” Alex said, as Kaleb slowed down to a walk as well. “I guess we get group cuddles tonight then. Good.. job.” Alex said as he breathed in slowly and deeply.​

Now that they officially won, Nate slowed to a full stop, hands on his knees as he remembered how to breathe. Carlos from afar, threw up his arms. “That is a victory! We can in fact catch our speedy monkey man if we use our wits and kill our lungs.” When he caught up, he shoved his arms below Alex’s and lifted him up and turned them in a circle that made him dizzy but he didn’t care. “I have wanted group cuddles since the moment Nate wasn’t being a jealous little pain anymore.” Nate considered saying something against thing but it was one true and two he was too tired.

Alex had finally caught his breath as he saw Nate with his hands on his knees and looked back at Carlos. He chuckled, hearing him and shook his head al little bit. "That's the only way you can catch me." He said with a smile before he gasped at the arms below his and felt himself brought in a circle. Alex had wrapped his arms around Carlos' neck as he laughed. Kaleb chuckled, catching his breath as he looked at the other three. Alex couldn't exactly argue with the fact that Nate had been jealous but now? Group cuddles sounds nice. Especially after that city of close calls. "You know, we have to make it to the overlook for group cuddles, and in order to get there, we have to move." Alex teased as he looked at them.​

Carlos may have been celebrating and laughing, but Nate mostly felt like he was dying. “Excuse you? We are dead now. How much further is this overlook? Because I might decide that I live here now.” He pointed to the ground beside him, but that made him dizzy so he dropped his hands on the ground. “This spot calls to me.” Carlos shook his head as he put Alex back down. “Nope. I want cuddles on an overlook. Everybody get moving.”

Alex chuckled as he felt his feet touch the ground again and he looked at Nate. "Come on you. It's not that much further. We got pretty close thanks to this little game." He said, holding a hand out to Nate. Alex was ready to get to the overlook, mostly because he was tired now too and ready to rest. Kaleb chuckled as he listened to the two of them. He waited for the others before he would start moving. ​

Nate stared at the hand a moment, smiling but also trying to look like he might not take it or had to consider if he was going to. He finally clapped his hand down on Alex’s and sighed. “Alright, fine, take me to your overlook,” he said as he stood back up. Carlos took Alex’s other hand as well as Kaleb’s. If they were going to an overlook for group cuddles then they should go as a connected group. It was, after all, one of Carlos’ favorite things in the world.

Alex saw that Nate looked like he wasn't going to take his hand, before he did take his hand. Alex smiled and chuckled at the comment and watched Nate stand up. He felt Carlos take his other hand and Kaleb felt him take his hand. They were connected, one group together. Alex led the way straight ahead, seeing the tree line thinning a little. The overlook was right ahead, and as they broke from the tree line, they had made it. The city of Seattle was up ahead, bathed in the orange and red light of the setting sun. "Welcome to the overlook." Alex commented as he stopped them.​

The group stopped to take in such a beautiful sight. “Now Handsome, why do you keep taking me to places I can’t paint yet?” Carlos let go of Kaleb’s hand to wrap his arm around his waste and bring him in close as he did on most occasions but especially when he was feeling particularly arty. “But you know what I can do?” He kissed Kaleb’s temple. “I can draw it.” He slipped away from Kaleb and pulled out his notebook to have a seat and play with the colors in his bag. Nate stood there and looked at the city of Seattle. This was it. This was the place he had been searching for for so long. If only Max and Ben were there. They would have been so excited to finally find it. Seattle where his hope still lived. He looked at Alex. Seattle was where Alex’s hope died. It made him wonder.

Alex glanced at Carlos when he heard that, and chuckled softly. "I can't help it." He said with a smile as he watched him pull Kaleb close. Kaleb smiled, feeling Carlos' arm around his waist and pulled close. He looked at Carlos when he heard him and smiled. Alex watched as Nate looked at the city and he looked at the city. It seemed like such a long time ago that he'd been here. Since he'd left Seattle and had headed east. Kaleb sat down beside Carlos and rested his head on his shoulder as he sat there. Alex looked at Nate and sighed. "Are you okay? You look like you're thinking." Alex told Nate, looking at him.​

The city was beautiful. Nate knew that was true. He knew that Carlos probably saw something more beautiful than him, but even with the destruction of the city, he could see its natural beauty. He wondered what it would be like if Carlos could paint it. He hadn’t seen any of his paintings, but he had seen some of the drawings in that little book of his. They probably would be beautiful. Nate looked from the city to Carlos and Kaleb. Carlos rested his arm partially in Kaleb’s lap and his head against Kaleb’s as he drew. “Yeah,” he answered without looking away just yet. He exchanged two family members for two others to get here. That was difficult for him to think about, especially when the city was so questionably unknown. Who were they going to find within the boundaries of that city. “I’m just…remembering. Hoping, I guess. Wishing. They wanted this so badly. To find anything left. I wasn’t even sure it was real.” He still didn’t.

Alex looked away from Nate for a moment, looking at the city. He certainly felt anxious about being back here. About heading back into the very city he had run from. Alex bit his lip as he glanced over at their other two members before he turned his attention to Nate. He took Nate's hand and squeezed it. "And I'm sure they're watching over you, seeing the city as we are. You made it for them, and look what we found along the way? An artist and an officer, a warrior." Alex nudged Nate's shoulder gently. "And tomorrow, we find the people trying to save the world and we'll help them." Alex said, resting his head on Nate's shoulder. He turned his head to kiss his cheek before he sighed. "Although right now? I could go for some dinner." He said with a chuckle as his stomach rumbled a little. Kaleb's eyes were focused on what Carlos was drawing, feeling his head on his and the arm partially in his lap.​

How was Alex so great? How did Alex manage to find him, because they all knew that he did not manage to find anything or anyone. Guides were like that. They could take you anywhere you needed to go. He nodded, because Alex was right. He was always so right. He could say exactly what Nate needed to hear. “You know, I could go for some dinner as well. What about you two?” Carlos, deep in drawing, may have been hungry, but he was also on a roll. “Give me a moment. I need to finish the vision first.” Nate laughed and ran a hand over the top of both Carlos’ and Kaleb’s heads. “How about Handsome and I prepare a fabulous meal and bring it to you?”

Alex smiled and chuckled, hearing him. He shifted away from Nate as they looked at the other two. Alex moved over to the edge of the forest where he put his back and kneeled down. He opened his pack and pulled out some green beans and ravioli. "What do you think of a meal of green beans and ravioli?" Alex asked as he looked at the others. Kaleb was entranced and wasn't moving as he watched Carlos. He felt the hand run over the top of his head and chuckled. "That might be the only way we get him to eat, especially when he's in a drawing mood." Kaleb commented.​

Nate stood there another moment, taking in the city that was going to change their lives, and followed Alex to the packs. “I think that sounds fabulous,” he answered as he took out utensils and moved back to the other two. Sure, they could sit over there if Alex brought over the food. Carlos, to prove a point, turned his head and kissed the top of Kaleb’s head before looking towards Nate and Alex and winking. “See, I can do other things when I’m in the drawing mood.” Of course, then he went straight back to drawing. “Give me like.. .two more minutes. Probably. I just want to make sure I get the concept down before I stop.”

Alex looked over at Nate and smiled as he nodded. He grabbed the cans, getting everything ready before his attention was turned to Carlos. He saw him kiss the top of Kaleb's head and winked at him. He shook his head with a chuckle, and stood up with the cans. Alex walked over to Kaleb and Carlos and sat down on Kaleb's other side. Kaleb chuckled a little at the kiss before he saw Nate and Alex walking over with food. He took two utensils for him and Carlos as Alex set the cans in front of them, taking his own utensil and snagged a ravioli. "Do I need to feed you my love?" Kaleb asked, a teasing and playful tone of voice as he sat there.​

Carlos was so close to getting to a stopping point or as close to one as he ever did. He laughed with the rest of them as they moved around them, Nate sitting on Carlos’ other side so that they could surround him as they made fun of him. Carlos pulled his eyes up and laughed so hard that he shook Nate. “You are adorable love but I don’t think you need to feed me. Look, I’m almost there. Two more lines tops.” It was twelve, but who was counting? He put the book down and took the utensil of Kaleb’s hand. “I am eating now.” He was the last to start.

Kaleb smiled as he heard Carlos laugh hard and he chuckled softly. "I thought I'd offer. We can't have you wasting away dear." Kaleb teased as he took a bite of food himself. He knew how Carlos got when he was drawing, and while it was fascinating to watch, he knew it was hard for him to stop too. Alex rolled his eyes with a playful chuckle as he took a few bites himself. How they ever got so lucky to find these two, he'll never know. ​

Carlos leaned across Kaleb unnecessarily to talk to Alex. “Can you believe he treats me like this?” He shook his head and then whipped around to look at Nate. “Offers out of what? Love?” He took a bite before he got too out of control with the drama and forgot to eat. “Ridiculous!” Nate, trying to eat, nearly choked on his food from the laughter. He swallowed, finished laughing, and then tried eating again.

Alex chuckled as he looked at Carlos, leaning across Kaleb. "No. I cannot believe it." Alex said with a laugh, playing into it. He watched Carlos whip around to look at Nate and heard him. Alex watched as Nate nearly choked and he frowned before he noticed everything was okay. Kaleb rolled his eyes and shook his head at Carlos' antics. "You are absolutely ridiculous. I'll just let you starve the next time you're too engrossed in your drawing to eat." Kaleb told him, trying to hold a serious tone of voice.​

Before Carlos could do anything that would probably make Nate die at the hands of his favorite food, Nate raised his hand and pointed towards Kaleb. “Carlos, I think you’re right. It does sound like he treats you terribly. Did you hear how he wants you to starve?” Carlos, who did in fact remember to take another bite, also had to struggle so as not to die via food. He swallowed and threw up his hands. “And here I was thinking that what we had was special.” He leaned across Kaleb again. “Handsome, looks like I have an opening. Wanna be my forever instead?”

Kaleb's eyes widened as he chuckled, hearing Nate's comment, and then Carlos' words. He swallowed his own bite so he didn't choke on it as he saw Carlos lean across him. Kaleb shook his head as he nodded. "I just pretended what we had was special, clearly letting you starve was my entire plan." Kaleb commented as Alex rolled his eyes. "I'd be truly honored to be your forever." Alex replied before he looked over at Nate. "I'm sorry love, I just can't say no to him." He said, grinning as he sat there, taking another bite. Kaleb sighed. "Well. Nate. Looks like I need a new beau, want to be mine? Since your has chosen someone else." He asked teasingly.​

Nate gasped in the most dramatic way he could. “Not you too, Alex! Carlos! How could you take him from me?” Carlos, from across not one but two people’s laps with the way that he was leaning everywhere, vaguely looked over his shoulder with a totally normal shrug. “Sorry, bud, guess it wasn’t meant to be.” He looked at Alex, taking his cheek in his hand and said as serious as he could manage, “Handsome, I think that means you’ll have to marry me now that I am lacking in a fiancée.” Nate, determined not to laugh anymore, swallowed his last bite and looked at Kaleb. “Yes, in fact, as it happens, I have been thinking that you and I are much better suited anyway. It seems like the logical and practical choice honestly. Plus, remember that time in the closet? Changed my life.” He grinned as he heard Carlos dying over there with his laughter.

Alex heard Nate's gasp and shrugged his own shoulders with a chuckle. "I just can't say no to the person who gave me my first kiss." He said with a smile, feeling Carlos take his cheek in his hand. "I don't know if I'll pull off the outfit like your prior fiancée but I'll try." Alex replied, looking at Carlos. He heard Nate's comment when Kaleb asked him to be his new beau and he laughed hard. Kaleb laughed loudly as he heard Carlos and smiled over at Nate. "What can I say? I'm a pretty great kisser. I can change lives. So.. I guess since I don't have a fiancée anymore, you can marry me." Kaleb said, having heard Carlos tell Alex the same thing.​
