Realistic or Modern The Beginning of the End

"Nothing much, trying to not make Carl look like a total dweeb. You went out again?" He focused on Carl's hair, "You didn't run into any trouble did you? No new gangs to worry about?" Tom didn't like Eric going out by himself, but Eric knew how to handle himself, and it would be a waste to send anyone else with him. They would just slow Eric down. "Also, Carl and I got a little list made up for you, for your next trip out."

Vyork Ashfin]Trent runs to the undead and begins dragging them to the truck. "Can you move the truck closer please!" He has a hard time talking while hauling a 100lb body.
Hunter backs up the truck slightly closer so he can put the body in the back. ([URL="https://www.rpnation.com/profile/10177-vyork-ashfin/ said:

Delaney drew her gun too, when he slammed his foot down she flinched; but didn't change her stance. The loud sound drew the snarl of a dog, Delaney thought it sounded like a bigger canine; she took a step backwards. "Brad... What should we?-" She began to ask, watching the creature stalk out from the shadows; looking at them with wary eyes and flattened ears.

"Ah, just a couple of guys. Nothing to worry about, though." He smiled and then looked at Carl. "Bout time you got a haircut, little guy. That hair was weighing you down." He said, chuckling. Carl giggled and gently nodded in agreement.

Carl replied without even thinking. "Uh-huh, daddy said he can--" He stopped when he realized that that word had escaped his mouth. It was another one of those instances. It had happened a few times over the course of the few months. He didn't know why, but it made him feel strange when he thought of Tom as his 'daddy' - it sort of flashed in his mind over and over, like an epiphany, but different. He didn't know what Tom thought of it, but he was more scared of making Tom angry by calling that - he pretty much had a love for Tom and the way he treated him, and I think he was most scared of losing that.

Carl said nothing. He didn't say anything in regret nor did he finish his sentence. He bowed his head a little and hid behind his shaggy and long bangs. Eric went silent as well and looked at Carl, but then gave a sympathetic frown and looked at Tom as well. (@DrCompton)

"Thanks!" Trent yells as he starts stacking the bodies on the back of the truck. "I am done......one sec!" He closes the door to the bed of the truck and walks around to the front then gets in. "Lets go to...." Trent grabs a map from his pocket and looks for a proper place to dump the bodies. (@Soul OMU )

Hunter waiting while sitting in the driver seat. "Your lucky that Cece taught me to drive when we weren't moving... Or else you'd have to drive..." She said and shifted gears slightly. (@Vyork Ashfin, funny thing... I don't know how to drive. xD )

He dragged Delaney inside and to the far side of the room where he aimed the rifle at this canine. He'd seen everything. The videos on wild dogs, and videos of The Walking Dead video game where Clementine was attacked by a dog. He didn't want to trust this. ".. Let me shoot it. You use the shotgun and you'll take half the cabin away with one shot." He said, smirking. Yeah, good old Brad, he was great at putting in humor in even the worst situations, but it made the mood much lighter. He aimed down the sight of the rifle, the barrel pointed right at the dog's head. Any minute now, whenever it showed its teeth and the hair on its spine went up, that's when he'd take the shot. This dog would have been starved and thirsty - feral, without a doubt. That is, of course, if it hadn't eaten or been given food by any body at a recent time. (@Soul OMU)

Tom just smiled a little, "What did I say I can do? Cause I know I didn't say I could cut hair well." Tom looked at Eric and winked, "Look back up Pal, I need to cut your bangs so you cant hide behind them anymore! You're starting to look like Hunter with those bangs, soon you'll have to blow them outta your eyes."

(Well I can drive a tracker to cut the grass... Can't be harder then a stick shift or an actual car...)

Trent points to a warehouse on the map and shows Hunter. "Lets go here.......it is away from the mall and close to a area that has no walkers." He pockets the map and pulls out his handgun. "Just in case....do you know how to use one?" Trent holds the gun out for hunter to grab.

Eric gently patted Carl's shoulder and then walked over to the neighboring chair, placing the bag down on it and opening it up. "Go on, Carl. You don't want the fringe messed up or you'll look stupid." He said. Much to Carl's displeasure, he lifted his head a little but kept his eyes looking down at his lap.

".. I'm sorry--.. Don't be mad, please?" He said in a slightly shaky whisper, twiddling his thumbs together in his lap. (@DrCompton)

"Why would I be mad at you pal? Look, I look at you AND Eric like you're my sons. I thought after I lost my family I'd never care for people again." He took the scissors away for am oment while he talked, and looked at Eric and then Carl, "I love both of you, and I mean that. I would do whatever I had to do to protect you two." He put his hand on Eric's shoulder, then his other on Carl's. "Whatever I had to do."

Trent falls back as the truck suddenly begins moving. "What the hell! Are you sure you can drive?" He ejects the magazine on his gun and checks the amount of ammunition he has.

Eric gave a smile and nodded at him in a thoughtful and thanking way. His emotion was everywhere due to his transmission into full-on adolescence, so after he gave a quick hug to Tom he had to squint heavily to hold back the tears for a minute. He wasn't used to people saying something that nice to him, at least not something that powerful. He forced another smile and began walking backwards towards the exit. ".. Just a minute." He stuttered. He quickly turned the corner and leaned against the wall, taking a deep breath while looking up at the roof.

Carl thought for a moment and then quickly wiped his eyes. Yeah, Eric wasn't the only one that hit hard. Carl's tears were more tears of fulfillment and relief. Maybe Tom didn't mind him saying that after all! All of that worry for nothing. He gave a shaky smile as he sat up straight and looked forward into the mirror. ".. I love you too." He whispered, rotating his eyes to look up at Tom for a few seconds before looking back. (@DrCompton)

Hunter laughs as she keeps driving.

"Making sure your well awake." She said while focusing on the road.

'Five more minutes. Just five more minutes of sleep.' Adelaide pleaded with her body. Unfortunately, her body didn't seem to be in a very giving mood today. With a groan she threw the blankets off and rolled off of the mattress. Lately Adelaide had been having a hard time sleeping past 8. Most days waking at nearly 6. She ran her fingers through her red hair in an attempt at brushing it as she made her way to where the food was stored. She grabbed a can of beans and opened them with a sigh. She was thankful for the food provided, but having beans nearly everyday for multiple months got really tiring, really quickly. Adelaide walked around in search of company. Finally she found Alex in the storage room. "Morning." Adelaide mumbled while hopping up onto the counter where she sat and took small bites of her breakfast. (@DrTrollinski )
'I am doubting you were ever taught how to drive." Trent sighed and holstered his gun. "How old are you anyway?"

Hunter driving smoothly on the bumpy road. "I'm 18." She said while focusing on the road.

Trent kicks his feet up onto the dash. "So you would have just gotten your licence...sucks that the world ended....don't you think?

Eric came back in soon enough, his face still fresh and slightly red from tears. He smiled at them both and then walked over to the bag. ".. You two keep doing what you're doing. I'll go through what I've found." He said, he began going through the zip-up backpack and pulled out several items. Some were magazines of ammo, some knives, several cans of beans, frank and beans, fruit, veg - and luckily, a jar of coffee beans, but no sugar. At the bottom there was one other thing. There was a black book that looked more like a photo album; he picked it up and hopped up onto the counter, pressing himself against the back corner and tucking his legs up close to his chest while he began flicking through it. Hunter nods as she keeps driving, focusing on the road ahead.

"So..."
