Fantasy The Academy _Dropped _

Mariel saw someone talk to Gears and ran towards them. "Who are you? I'm Mariel. I'm an angel. And you? Do you like Gears? He's my big brother!", she said as she finished her running in an bear hug.

@kayashirna

Kai was caught off guard by the sudden appearance of Mariel, and rocking in his chair, fell back onto the floor with a thud. With a stutter and a smile he managed to respond, "Um- I'm Kai! Nice to meet you, Miss Mariel. We just met, Gears and I, but he seems nice."

@Ami the breadling

Kai managed a smile as he patted her back lightly. "It's good that you love your sibling so much, Miss. As much as hugs are appreciated, I'd like to pick myself up now." He suggested the last part softly, a little concerned that he could cause conflict by asking her to let go.

Kai could feel his face heat up in embarrassment as he made his way back to his seat. He made a quick glance at Gears, not wanting to have a repeat of that conversation. Bowing his head and looking at his feet he mumbled something along the lines of "I can control salt based water" as he shrinked back into the chair.

No, let's not mention the squid thing. Let's not mention the curse, and how he can't actually touch water anyway. Not one word about just how redundant his ability really is.

The hug was just so sudden, but Llaryssa pat Mako on the back and laugh. She didn't knew that her friendship really meant so much to him. 'Okay, okay. Enough with the touchy feely.' She teased at him then added. 'Acted like she everything? Well, she did knew something. She threathened the demon you accidentally summoned, remember?' Even by just thinking about it, she still having a goosebumps. 'Maybe she's not really mean, maybe she's just strict.' Llaryssa reasoned out to him. She hoped that it wasn't that obvious to him, but she likes to see the good things in her. But she was torn, since she's admiring her, kinda idolize her too, but she's a demon. And that made her wonder.

Mariel shrugged. "Everyone's abilities are cooler than mine. I'm just a usual angel with usual healing and usual wings and all that usual stuff", she sadly muttered.

Kai shrugged his shoulders, defeated. With a sigh he admitted to Mariel just what affected his powers. "Um.. About my ability, it's almost useless because I can't physically touch water. But your powers are really helpful! I'd love to be able to help someone in need the way you would need to."

He wasn't lying. Everyone had some value to him and he was very protective of his friends. If he had a little more ability to be useful and helpful he'd be satisfied for life, happy just to make someone smile. A small grin spread on his face and he let go a of a slight chuckle.

Mariel shrugged again. "They may be useful but they are nothing special. I mean...Oh, an angel that can heal, that's so unexpected... Said no one ever...", she sadly stated.

Kai was stumped. If originality was something Mariel was looking for she was kind of stuck, being an angel in general is somewhat of a cliché. With a light laugh he tried on his optimistic face.

"What about learning a skill that know one who ever expect you as an angel to be good at or into? Like... Swordplay, or crazier, bombs! Pyrotechnics aren't common at all and you seem just as smart as you are beautiful, so it shouldn't be a problem for you to learn something new!" Kai flashed an encouraging smile, hoping that he managed to help or plant a bit of well needed encouragement or hope in Mariel's heart.

@Ami the breadling

Kai nodded his head to confirm his opinion. What a humble angel this was, such a sweetheart! "Child, do not doubt yourself or reject the truth! You are undeniably beautiful and you should embrace your talents and blessings, not hide them! You are powerful and strong and there's no shame in believing it yourself." He spoke calmly and from the heart, reassuring her with everything that he had observed in such little time of knowing this girl.

She seemings too kind not to have earned these compliments before, truly an angel she was. Kind, pretty, about as angelic as you could get. He placed a hand on her hand and patted it with a chuckle. "Have a little more confidence in yourself, Miss!"

@Ami the breadling

Mariel smiled at him as much as one could smile. "Thank you... But I don't really have talents except for singing and healing, but these are the usual ones... See? Again. Usual. I hate this usual. It's a stupid word. You talked about bombs. But don't they kill people? Make them homeless? That is nothing I want to be around. I don't want to be around anything that makes people suffer.", she strongly stated. It seemed to come from deep within her heart.

@kayashirna

Kai placed his hands on her shoulders and grasped them firmly. With a determined look he assured her further. "You don't have to hurt anyone, find something that you love because you love it." He let go of her shoulders.

"There is no limit, fencing! Be a professional gamer! Pole dance, be a fireman! Grow horns or live on a boat, absolutely nothing is limited to you. And if everyone who you love loves you, then no matter what they'll support it. Go out and find what you want to do that meets your criteria! If you want to be original, then by all means, do it. You're worth making yourself happy."

@Ami the breadling

Mariel looked at him in disbelief. "Not even Michael himself spoke as wise as you do. You must be something above an angel. Above an archangel. Who are you?", she said as she climbed a chair to make their eyes meet.

@kayashirna

Kai jerked back, startled. His face grew red and he shook his head rapidly, flinging hiswavey locks about until they were nothing but a messed across his face. With an embarrassed chuckle he tried to calm himself, that was unexpected.

"I'm nowhere near it, I'm just a squid guy. Perhaps you could say I have strong motherly instincts though?" He rubbed his chin in thought. Come to think of it, he claimed a lot of people to be his children too.

@Ami the breadling

Hm? Brother? That was new. Haha, brother! Kai liked that! No one had ever adopted him as a sibling before, but it excited and made him happy. With a wide grin he hooked his arms around both Gears and Mariel.

"I'd love to join your family! Thank you so much!"

@Ami the breadling @Blacknife

Abraham stood up, with his leather book in hand. He walked over to Gears, Mariel and Kai with his arm outstretched towards Mariel. "I've finished now, you can read whatever one you'd like." He said. "The rest of you can read some too, if you'd like." He told the other two before turning around and going back to the desk he'd left his writing utensils on.

@Ami the breadling @Blacknife @kayashirna

Mariel read a little but quickly got bored. Poetry was not quite her thing. She still liked what was written there. After a few minutes, she brought the book back, handing it to Abraham. "That is good...", she respectfully whispered. Abraham scared her a little.

@DankDoughnut @kayashirna

Kai turned his attention to the book Mariel had skimmed so quickly. Poems? No fair! He wanted to read some too. Jumping up to his feet he seemed to glide over to the desk where the teacher and angel were.

He waved his hand and quickly pointed to the book. "Um.. May I read some too?"

@Ami the breadling @DankDoughnut

Abraham took the book from her and smiled at her kindly. "Thanks." He thought maybe she didn't like him because of her change in attitude. He handed the book over to Kai. "Sure." He smiled at him as well, but it was a slightly different kind of smile from the one he gave Mariel.
