I like seeing how far the characters have come in their lives. Why they enlisted, how the service changes them, and how their achievements impact the world around them.

I need to get a post for Alan done today, but I've been a bit swamped in research this week. Hope I'm not holding anyone up.

Ok guys! With the death of the High Lord, we have reached the end of this part of the story arc, and I'm ready to move onto the next chapter! Great job, everyone.

My question to you is, do you wish to role play out your party time, or shall we move on to our next part? I'm planning on a time jump of several months before taking up the next chapter.

Pass or fail, would you be okay with me putting forward a few mech and drone-related ideas and by the time they characters are in play again, we can see if these ideas have borne any fruit?

Feel free to suggest any and all ideas you have. We will be jumping about six months, and you are going to be at the larger Brazilia Base, so you'll have access to a larger engineering area to be able to tinker in for a better chance of success.

Marlon will likely be installing PPC's as he gets them. Unless they are issued those newer Spartas with the cockpits.


Other than that would be working in his main, learning Zentraedi, and doing stuff with the Squad.

Psychie Just tossing ideas around.

Drone options (Dragonfly): I notice the Dragonfly drone does not have its own source of Illumination. This could have come in useful during our last sortie. How about an LED lamp with adjustable brightness and multi-color lenses?

Spartas/Ajax upgrades: The Myrmidon includes a stealth system. If we are going to be Third Heavy Recon, how about a stealth system like it?

Melee option: What if we had collapsible swords for the mecha? Something sturdy, light, sharp, and usable as a tool If we needed to do sometime? Something that would not get in the way during transformations? Perhaps two could be carried by those of us who have Paired Weapons? I imagine they would have to be different sizes for the Ajax and the Spartas.

What if the swords could heat up? Perhaps they could have an adjustable plasma edge that might also serve as a light source? Might that make cutting through a Mega-damage structure easier instead of just whacking at it? Perhaps the energy source for the sword would provide a limited number of charges before it had to be replenished (like the EU-11A)?

That it is. I kind of expected Deunan to make 1st Lt and the rest of us slide in as 2nd or Ensign (not really sure of how ASC ranks differ from the various structures present in the US branches).

That it is. If it hadnt happened and she still wants it happen, lol well, I highly the new boss will not let even a hint of such a thing go unpunished from third heavy.

Or if happened but didnt go anywhere. Then can roleplay that appropriately.

I just think it's going to be real funny if / when rumors start circulating that the captain is hard on the third heavy because he's envious or intimidated.

Much as he can take steps to make life difficult, there's always things a savvy underling can do to retaliate.

Marlon is of the opposite approach. He's fine with working harder. And he'll be more than happy to show that Third Heavy isnt as good as they say, but better.

Though if there was anything he would be unhappy with, it is the giving of melee weapons to the Ajax. Mostly because he knows a certain Ajax pilot is going to use almost exclusively just that despite having already gotten shot.

Alan won't be mean or disrespectful unless it becomes overtly unjust or abusive. If the captain is just going to be a grump, then its merely by the book interactions when necessary and a wide detour otherwise.

All depends on the severity I guess. I just don't see his poor regard of leadership translating well to this environment.
