Meanwhile Carm's trying not to laugh.J O N K L E R
Ren just looks at her with the most deadpan look like "Are you for real right now???" Joker can either be the smartest in the room or close to the dumbest. Very much depends on if he wants to amp up the chaotic stupid in him
Best part is they also have similar ideals: not wanting to resort to killing, stealing to help people, trying to end some form of corruption/bad. Yeah these two definitely are a perfect duo. Plus from how I see it they also could benefit each other in unique ways. Carm is probably more crafty and tool heavy while Joker has the stronger style of combat. I can see a moment where they need to steal something but getting in is difficult so Joker becomes the bait while Carmen sneaks in to get what they need
I too played that game, a very long time ago. That's why when I watched the Netflix series, I was so amazed by how they managed to capture the core essence of the Carmen Sandiego games/cartoons while also rebooting it for the modern times, giving the old story of the thief a new spin that had me reeling lol. Best part is the show still teaches viewers about the places that Carmen and co. travel to on her capers.Since joining the roleplay, I've been asking myself unironically: "Where in the world have, I heard Carmen Sandiago from? I never watched the TV show."
And it finally dawned on me. I used to play the 2001 game Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiago? Treasures of Knowledge as a kid. It was a history education game where you would play as an agent alongside two ACME agents and would travel the world telling facts to the player. It was my first computer game.
Shroomie, you're roleplaying the equivalent to my introduction to history as a subject, have fun with that.
Yep, she was for me! Carmen is actually the first thing that got me interested in history and geography in the first place, now I'm a huge nerd about it. And yeah, isn't it funny how the way she teaches you about the globe is by getting you to go on a wild goose chase after her?Carmen really be out here being the first history teacher for early 2000s kids. Which is ironic because you spend the game chasing after her.
That realization that they incorporated the games elements by having a character named 'Player' that interacts and learn from Carmen. When I was a kid, being in that agent role always felt really cool and a creative way to insert the kids into the story. So, to see them carry that into the show was genuinely smile inducing.Alright, seems like I'll have to write not only for Linkle but for the Herbs as well tonight. Hoo boy-
Meanwhile Carm's trying not to laugh.
There is no chaotic evil in Joker, just chaotic stupid XD
OH TRUE, I completely forgor about that! Their morals would def help them bond more as they get to know each other better, plus their fighting styles balance each other out nicely as you mentioned. And yeah, I swear during the Under Realm Fortress heist they're going to be an unstoppable pair. Galangal's gonna hear boss music lmao

That's why I take rping Carmen so seriously, waaaay more seriously than Linkle. It's bc she taught me a lot about the world, even today when I rewatch the show.

Right??? That was such a creative touch, and Player is indeed a kid too, which makes sense bc the games were targeted towards children. It was such a cool idea! That realization that they incorporated the games elements by having a character named 'Player' that interacts and learn from Carmen. Lol she's just a bucket of sunshine and rainbows, which may be why she gravitated towards two of the most negative nancies of the group XDAwww Linkle is precious
XD she’s too cute and precious she must be protectedLol she's just a bucket of sunshine and rainbows, which may be why she gravitated towards two of the most negative nancies of the group XD
Very true. No evil, just stupid and recklessness LOLMeanwhile Carm's trying not to laugh.
