"Damn you kyubey. I am worried about you and second sorry about falling asleep on you literally. You never know what kind of yoma lurk in slip space. I wouldn't want my student and friend to get hurt or die. "

Arashi landed with a humph, but managed to keep her grace, even when she was battered. She held her squatted position from the fall to reclaim her breath through shallow breaths. Once her breathing had deepened, she stood up, wiping some blood from under her nose with a single finger, flicking it off. Her gaze fixed upon the two flowers in front of her, holding a total of 7 grief seeds. After what she just went through, it was no surprise that she needed them. After quite a few moments, she slowly took the sequence of steps that seemed to take her exhausted body to the flowers. She hadn't the strength to continue, yet she managed to find the necessary energy to keep moving.

She felt guilty that she had left her village for so long. When she arrived, it was being ravaged by a yoma, who without her, had the chance to roam free. Confident that she could restore order, she attacked. Unfortunately for her, the yoma was a fusion, two yoma that combined to amplify their destruction. As soon as the first chakram hit, one fell off the other, both turning their attention to the magical girl. Wide eyed, she quickly dodged the surprise attack from the one on bottom, taken off guard by the sudden change in battle favor.

She wasn't quite sure how she managed to survive, mainly because she felt exactly like death. The only motive pushing her forward was the knowledge that she needed to save her village. She would not let them suffer for her selfish ways, nor her neglectful absence. With a weak hand, she collected the grief seeds, using two as she stored the rest. Simply staring blankly at them, she stood motionless for a time. Eventually, she shook her head, then stored them in a special pouch to remind her that she had some she needed to dispose of. She would have rid herself of their burden, but she didn't want to see Kyubey again that day.

In fact, she didn't want to see anything that reminded her of her curse, the one that kept her bound to the line of duty virtually daily. Looking up at the slip space sky, she wondered how long she could continue like this. It was obvious that once she passed her prime, she wouldn't be able to withstand the power of the yoma, but that felt like a long ways off. Yet at the same time, it was so near. Today reminded her that at any moment, she could disappear from existence, absolved from her sole purpose on this wretched planet.

After her lengthy introspection, she shook her head, preparing to leave the cursed dimension. Before she could, she scanned the area, noting how peaceful it was when yoma didn't exist. This is what her reality could be, if it weren't for Kyubey's need to harvest their energy. The only thing that bothered her about the process was that he put everyone in danger. The world must suffer because Kyubey needed their energy. How could he compare humans to livestock? There was nothing similar about the way he treated them. You don't raise pigs then release wolves into the enclosure. That was sick.

Without another heartbeat, she left slip space and headed back into the village. No one else knew what she had just done, but her family would soon ask. They were worried when she had asked to leave for a few days. Now, this day itself felt like too long away from them. She needed their support if she was to continue with tomorrow. No one else understood; no one else could comfort her just the same. Picturing how surprised they would be to see her home, her expression lightened, cracking a thin smile. She trotted to get there faster, energy suddenly renewed.

" You had me until you started talking about more than battle, but as i said i could have Katja be her friend it is not like she would object if you just need someone to be around for more than battle she has nothing better to do" Kyubey said still not getting and not really trying if anything he was playing dumb as he was appearing less like the all knowing being arashi claimed he was.

" i told you before kyubey that not how you make friends. Beside an order would never bring the friendship i desire." Yui now feels uncomfortable again with the way kyubey keeps trying to force yui and katja together. She was willing to work with katja but she didnt trust her like tsubaki.

Tsubaki could only roll her eyes at Kyubey's suggestion. "I don't know why you even try to act like you understand humans sometimes," she muttered, quickly giving up on attempting explanations.

" Well you can't blame me for trying to make sure you are around a good influence rather than a bad one" Kyubey said tilting his head the bad influence was obvious to at least a few of them.

" i am fairly sure if i could be insulted i would be " Katja said as while the implication likely was that Katja couldn't be a friend because she was ordered she interpreted it as because she lacked emotion and therefore would need a order to be a friend she would make a poor friend.

Max frowned a bit and looked at Kyubey. "Let's see... friends... I got it." Max kneeled down to Kyubey. "I'll try to describe friends as best I can to you. A friend is much like an ally, like Yui said. The more time you spend with them, the more you know them, the more often they'll appear to help you. True friendship can't come from an order. Sure, a general can order two people to be allies in a battle, but that doesn't mean they'll work well together. They'll fight alongside each other, but they'll bicker and trip over one another. Remember earlier, when I said that your ally will appear more for you the more you know them? That's how it is. The more you know them, the more you act as one. Every move they make makes you stronger, in spirit and physically, while you do the same to them. That's a friend."

Kyubey looked over to Katja after the friend speech he really wasn't interested in friendship he just wanted things to work out the way her wanted. m " Well looks like you always had friend Katja and here i thought you would be forever friendless, but you have your servants who knew" He said still not bothering to pretend he got it even though he did and after he said that he vanished.

"You'd guess correctly! My name's Max Teller." She considered launching into her whole American spiel, but decided against it. Actually... she never really thought about it, but she looked rather American too, didn't she? Now that she thought about it, she was surprised it never came up. "Well, not new recruit so much as prospective magical girl."

As they spoke Katja felt it like a tearing of fabric and a drop of water. The view had been torn then she felt it like a buzzing of electricity energy permeated the air. A Yoma had been born nearby. As she felt this and was starting to speak there was a sound like the wind a cry of something inhuman. It was like read piping not a voice.

"A Yoma was just born" Katja said and as she did the Yoma found them it had no shape it was a tar like mass bubbling but the bubble became eyes and mouth only for those to vanished seconds latter. The only constant was long pipe like tubed that waved about emitting the strange call.

"Holy shit!" Max yelled, laughing as it came out. "That's a Yoma? Christ, how do you even kill a puddle?" Max quickly went over to the servant. "Good luck girls!"

((Just a reminder: the worse this fight goes for Katja, Tsubaki, and Yui, the quicker Max makes her wish. Act on that info as you will.))

"Told you they were ugly," Tsubaki drew her sword, tightening her grip on it. Max had a point, just how the hell are you supposed to kill a blob of . . . whatever the hell that was made of? "Yui, since you're exhausted and catching a cold why don't you hang back and play defense?" Not that she wouldn't have been useful in this situation, but as tired as she was, it didn't look like she would be able to think all that clearly.

Yui surounds herself and max with water and then freezes it. Creating a defensive wall between the yoma and them. Protecting them from all size. " katja, i handle defense for me and Max. Take beowolf and tsubaki and destory the yoma. *cough *cough. Damn tsubaki beat me to it."

"Freya" Katja said summoning forth the armor clad archer Beowulf meanwhile vanished and repeated striking the Yoma to little effect. The yoma body flowed and resisted or healed cuts.

"Direct cuts don't seem to work" Katja said as Freya let lose an arrow to a similar lack of effect. The yoma meanwhile lashed out growing great spiked tendrils which it slammed the girls.

Tsubaki worked on dodging the Yoma's attacks until she caught movement out of the corner of her eye. Being midair, there was nothing she could do to dodge the incoming attack. "Shit!" Was all she could say before being sent tumbling across the pavement. "Alright, that stings a bit," Tsubaki muttered as she got back to her feet. "Direct doesn't work?" The black blade of her sword glowed, "Let's if magic has any effect on it then." A single swing of her sword sent an arc of pure magic racing towards the Yoma.

Cracks form around yui ice bubble after getting hit by the yoma attack. " katja and tsubaki are you alright " yui says as she reforms the buuble protecting max and her. "This is bad. I dont think tsubaki or katja slaves are going to do much damage to this yoma. I might have to fight instead of them."

The arc cut the yoma's next attack off before it came down on Tsubaki and Katja noticed something, where her servants had failed to do lasting damage Tsubaki's magic cut the Yoma and it didn't heal, well it didn't just reattach the lost bit. Katja quickly came up with an idea , or rather a plan for how to deal with this Yoma.

" Tsubaki keep cutting it, the Yoma doesn't seem to regenerate easily after you cut it, and i will open rifts for the chunks, repeat until it dies " She said which was all her plan consisted of and the two of them likely could pull it off to emphasis this katja opened a rift and swallowed up the chunk.

The Yoma retaliated lashing out at Katja who was a second to slow and got slammed into a wall, but she was ok, or well ok enough to keep fighting.

Max hissed a bit as the attacks made contact with the bubble. She turned towards Yui. "Look, if you need to go that's fine. Last thing I want is someone getting hurt, or multiple people getting hurt, because I was holding them down. If you think they need help, go help them. I'll just..." She frowned and concentrated intently. She groaned with annoyance. "I'll just figure something out."

" no i am not leaving you. I give katja plan a try before i do anything. Your to easily a traget in slip space without one of us protecting you. Right now i got to concentrate on the walls of my barrier."

"You want me to attack it? Fine," two more slashes were sent at oncoming tentacles. "Just have your servants defend you or something, you can't take many more hits like that last one." Not that Tsubaki would have fared any better.

" That is not the plan" Katja said opening rift after rift to catch the bit that Tsubaki cut off, and to cutoff attacks that came her way, but those she cut with rifts simply regenerated. This meant that Tsubaki was doing far more than just cutting things it was more like she cut time and space even more than her rifts. Katja found this interesting in a mechanical way, just what was her power.

" Besides damage is not a problem" Ktja said and as she did the Yoma shot out one of its tendrils and move to fast for Katja to stop. Katja not exactly one to dodge when using rifts was caught in the shoulder, and the tendril went right though her before being pulled back. A Normal human would be screaming but Katja didn't she looked pained as she was but thanks to be being a magical girl she was not goign to die. The yoma meanwhile was starting to look bad a few more tendrils lost or just straight cuts to its gooey body and it would die.

"Shit!" Max yelled when she saw Katja get stabbed through the shoulder. That was, until she noticed that Katja seemed fine. That's right: they said magical girls are resistant to pain and can regenerate. Max looked around at the tendrils smashing against the dome. Most of the Yoma's efforts were focused on Katja and Tsubaki, but a few still remained attacking the dome. While it looked like the two magical girls on offense would take it out pretty soon, Yui seemed to be running out of energy. I need to be on alert, be ready.

" no your wrong katja felt that. Yes minor damage we dont feel as regular humans do. Major damage we do feel. Anyway katja switch places with me and protect max." Yui says as she undoes her bubble and runs to protects and cover katja escape.

" That isn't needed the Yoma will be defeated soon enough, I do not need to fall back" Katja said as to her if she could move she didn't need to leave combat, she just focused harder on countering attacks the hold in her shoulder bleeding and aching but she had had a few worse injuries and the faster this ended the faster she could heal.
