" You are exaggerating, such damage was nowhere near life threatening, your illness however is odd as you should not be able to get sick at least to my knowledge" Katja said as max left, in truth they could survive far worse if they distance themselves from their body, she knew about the body and soul separation but did not mind, well she couldn't mind but that was not the point she knew and it was understandable.


" With that settled Yui I shall walk you home to assess your condition " she said her manner of speaking saying this really wasn't a question or a request she would go with Yui after all this was a first. " Will you come along as well Tsubaki or are you fine going alone?" She asked though her words held no concern for the new magical girl, she was powerful enough to take care of herself.

"I think I'm just going to head home. It's been a hell of a day and I have a lot to try and process." She started down the sidewalk. "Besides, I still need to cook dinner and I haven't exactly planned anything out. Maybe I should stop by the store on the way?" By the end the teen was mostly mumbling to herself. She wasn't exactly kidding when she said she had a lot to sit down and try to sort out. The revelation of Yoma actually being former humans still had her reeling, even if she'd managed to conceal it relatively well. The thought of having killed not one, but two people today gnawed at the back of her mind. Being formerly human didn't seem to make things any less painful.

Max frowned and bit her lip as she erased something from the notebook and wrote something over it. She glanced over it. One minute it passed... five... ten... all the while she examined the notebook, closely making sure every word was just right... After about fifteen minutes of that she exhaled a shaky sigh and plopped her head back against her pillow. Ok, that's one thing down. Now... how am I supposed to find Kyubey again? Did he ever tell me how to contact him?

" i dont understand how i couldnt get sick. I swallowed a huge amount of water from my attack and dirt from the yoma when i was trying to defeat it. The only way i could do enough damage was to be inside a crack i found on it. " yui says this with a questioning look on her face. " i was inside the yoma for 3mins before it broke apart."

" The exact workings of Magical girls isn't known to me completely, only Kyubey would know " Katja said walking along with Yui finding it odd she would get sick at all though it could be because of the Yoma in her. Well that was one theory as Katja had never eaten a Yoma before and she had never gotten sick after becoming a magical girl.


" Well there is a way around things like pain and anything that would cause you discomfort in a battle, however the method is unsettling to most I could teach you it if you wish" Katja offered doing a little more than she might normally do for someone that was just an ally.

 

[Karcen]

" If i am needed i tend to show up max, so how was it did you enjoy your time with the others?" Kyubey asked his questions always spoken in the same tone.

 

[Assailant]

"Gah!" Max yelled, jumping in surprise when Kyubey spoke and bashing her head against the bed's headboard in surprise. She rubbed her head in pain and hissed a bit. "Right, I forgot you're omniscient or whatever." She turned to Kyubey and almost shivered a bit at what she was about to do. She almost stopped, but then looked back down at her notepad. "It was... enlightening, for sure. I like to think I made some new friends." She then remembered once more Katja being stabbed. "New thoughts too." She took a shaky breath and looked Kyubey dead in the eyes.


"I'm ready for the contract."

" That is good to hear I did not expect it to only take one trip" Kuybey said admitting in a way he only thought of the work th mention of friends didn't matter " Then tell me your wish and i shall make you a magical girl" Kyubey said waiting for the wish to be stated and the contract sealed.

I couldn't bear to see Katja hurt. I don't want to leave them, they're my friends now. But if I go with them... if Yui had been able to help... if I'd been able to help... Max chuckled. "I've planned for this. The one warning I got from every magical girl was be careful what you wish for." Max held up the notepad. "I've written down my wish, rewrote it, looked for every loophole. It's airtight now. So my wish is as follows:" Max looked at the notepad and read from it, making sure to get every word right.


"I wish for a complete and total understanding of the world of magical girls and everything that's related to it, including but not limited to: The Yoma, the works and ways of magical girls, the functions, existence, and properties of slip-space, and the motivations and workings of you, Kyubey." She smiled as she said that, but continued speaking. "and with this knowledge, and the abilities given through signing this contract, have the ability to avoid my own karmic debt and help other magical girls, existing or prospective, avoid their own, whilst maintaining my current personality and not having it be changed due to the new knowledge gained through this wish." She grinned.

" No " Kyubey said simply nothing happening " Karmic debt can not be avoided so your wish can't be granted and your human mind is far to primitive to hold all the information required to understand it, I would need to purge your mind or make you into something non human so your desire to remain as you are can not be granted. " Kyubey said explaining it in the simplest most honest terms. " If you remove those stipulations i can grant it otherwise you will need another wish "

Max grinned. "I expected that reaction. Guess who's a dirty little liar?" Max picked up her notebook and tapped it, flipping to a page where she'd thought out everything, turning it to Kyubey. "Knowledge is universal. Given the means, anyone can learn anything. There's no limit to the human knowledge, and the stipulation that there is is, to be frank, preposterous and unfounded. Given the right means, in this case a wish, I could learn anything I so desire. You said while we were in the cafe, and I quote,

"Heh. Cute, coming from the person who's own arguments are being used against them. This has nothing to do with human understanding. You said a small wish would cause a negligible karmic debt later on in that same conversation. This was an entirely different case on its own." Max grinned. "Besides, then you can just give me surpassed understanding. What do I care? All my wish said in that regard was that I understand the world of magical girls better. If you have to give me a more advanced brain to do so, then do it. All I asked was that my personality doesn't get changed. As long as I still act the same, I could care less."


"You're not understanding this better than me. You're being conceited." Max pointed at Kyubey. "YOU just don't want to admit I outsmarted you. That's fine, of course, I understand. Nonetheless, you're in a corner. I've thought out everything for the past half-hour. Every argument is sound, all evidence comes from you. Nothing you can say at this point can negate what's already been said." She held a thumbs up. "I win. Whatever has to be done to fulfill my wish must be done. If that means making me more advanced then so be it, provided it doesn't counter my other conditions."

Max groaned. Ugh, he's being such a stuck-up asshole. I have everything sound. Fine, I'll play by his rules. "Okay, fine. Then I have another wish. I wish you had the power, were easily able to, and did, comply with the conditions of my wish."

"Depends," Max said, leaning back. "I need to avoid Karmic debt, and keep my personality the seem. As long as that's fulfilled, we can discuss. So go ahead. What's the price?"

" Well to understand everything as you said and help all such magical girls current and prospective i would have to make you and concept instead of a person so you could be with them all and help them all instead of just helping a handful, I suggest a compromise i will give you all the knowledge of yoma, everything from their origin to how to destroy every last one of them in an instant, but that is all your wish will entail" Kyubey offered.

Max grimaced. Crap! That's not what I meant, I just meant to help those I come across. But he's right, that's what my wish is asking. I don't know how to change it... no... no, asking for no debt is selfish. In my want to be selfless, I was being the most selfish of all. Karmic debt is there to set us straight. Ideally, if I'm not being selfish in my wish-making then the karmic debt won't exist. 'Course, that train of thought itself is selfish. "Hmm... okay. You're right. I give up on karmic debt. Since I'm guessing you won't take it, I'll also give up learning about you. I'll figure that stuff out on my own. But I still want Slipspace as well. Give me that too, and you've got yourself a deal."

" See your wish is not so loop hole proof as you thought, while some of it is true i can give you the knowledge but it will change you even if you don't want it to you will see every problem on this world as nothing more than a minor problem even the greatest of humans will below your knowledge. Yes with this knowledge you can save so many live , just imagine the massive debt you are going to make Kuybey said as he reached forward with his ear and reached into max pulling her soul into a soul gem and making her am magical girl whole he also gave her mind a flood of history and knowledge that rewrote everything humans thought they knew abotu the universe their planet and included millions of years of history all in one second, hopefully her mind could take so much being given.

"You don't need to rub it in," Max murmured to herself as Kyubey seemingly taunted her about the presence of a loophole. Suddenly, Kyubey's ears reached forward. "WHAT THE FU-?!" The ears plunged into here chest as knowledge flooded her brain. She quickly fell back onto the bed, panting as what she would recognize as a soul gem sat on her chest. She lifted it before her eyes and chuckled weakly. "Heh... I'm looking at myself." She panted a few more and looked up at Kyubey. With new understanding, she observed the incubator and panted, weakly pointing her finger at him. "So you...- and they...- and..." Max chuckled once more before falling back onto her bed, unconscious. She would be fine in the morning, but for now she needed to rest more than ever.

" Well that was more annoying than it should have been, well it doesn't matter little will change" Kyubey said before vanishing he had things to do.

"No thanks. I think the pain i feel while fighting is like telling me i am still alive. I know kyubey makes it so we feel less pain during fights but for that same reason other girls believe they are immortal. Sorry i have a question for you. What did you wish for?"

If this had been another day and Katja had not been assigned to team up with the other girls she would not tell anyone what her wish was as it could be used against her by a magical girl with less than noble goals as she cared for her father, or at least she told herself she did. " My wish was two fold, i wish for my father to be brought back to life so i wouldn't never be alone" She explained. Some girls might see him being in a coma as Kyubey not keeping up his side of the wish, or not doing what she had wanted at the time, but Katja had learned she had not been specific. " Kyubey did save him but he is still in the hospital almost constantly in a coma, it has been months since he last woke up. I do not blame Kyubey for it he granted my wish it was not specific as i made it in a moment of emotion my first and last for years" She explained not meaning to get her life story but logic said every detail was needed.

"I see you are the same as me then. I mean the part about making a love one come back to life." Yui says sadly to katja. Thinking back to what the other girl sad earlier. " are we selfish for not wanting to be alone?" Tears form on the edge of yui eyes. In all the world she didnt want to be wrong for saving her brother but if her wish really was hurting others she couldnt live with the guilt. How could she face her brother knowing she help cause other to turn into monsters.
