She'd bat his wallet away and mumble, putting $200 on the counter. "A room for 3 days please." The cashier would nod and take the money, looking through his computer before giving her a set of keys saying 452.

 

[Cameron Onfroy RiP]

"You didn't have to do that. You could've just said something... If you didn't want me to pay for your room..." Kit pouted while looking at her. "Sheesh... talk about an attitude" His cheeks puffed up red. I imagine how hard it would be to deal with that on a daily basis... Huh... He went and grabbed his wallet then looked at the man. "A room, please, for 3 days, too" He took out $200 and extended his hand towards him.


Welp... Aroki... here I finally come...

As she pried open the door, her fears were confirmed. All that remained of the tidy office was a room of peeling wallpaper and dusty ashes. Some flames were still smoldering in the corner.


Turning back to Reagis, Solana gave him a hopeless look. ".....What now?"

*she'd sigh and take $200 off his and replace it with one of hers. "There now it's even..."

 

[Cameron Onfroy RiP]

"Umm..." Kit fixed whatever she did. "Just... just... Go to sleep or something..." He massaged both his temples, worried he might have sounded annoyed. "I... I don't know what I'm even going on about... I'll wait for this guy, I'll go look for my fox, and then I'll get myself set down. Too much has happened today... I'm not even-" Kit came to a sudden stop, realizing he was going on a stupid rant. "Lottie, what would you do if you felt something for someone... but at the same time, you felt like it's stupid or... it won't work out... or it's too soon so you just give up on it..?" He asked, blushing a bright red.


Why did I ask that... Why did I ask that here? I'm so nervous... I feel like running and not coming back...

 

[Prismascope]

She'd shrug and nod "I...yes I have... I've even expirenced it." She'd say as she started walking.

 

[Cameron Onfroy RiP]

"I didn't ask if you experienced it. But eh..." Kit started walking, heading outside. "You confuse me... Like, really..." Kit sighed, leaning on the wall of the building after going outside. As he talked, he heard what sounded like a bark, and a white fox with red stripes hurried towards him. "Aroki... Hello..." He'd smile as he bent down, to pet the fox, who happily responded by sitting on the floor in front of him. "Well... I don't have to do anything now... So let's just go to sleep, you fox... I can't stand one more minute standing... whatever that means" I wonder how Aroki got here... Ehh... maybe she found the manhole and... looked behind her.

"Uhhhh..." Reagis stared hopelessly back at Solana, meeting her bleak gaze with his own. "I don't know..." He let out a sigh, doing his best not to lose all hope. "There's a town nearby, right? Maybe there..." Reagis trailed off, lowering his head to let his greyish hair hang down in front of his eyes, still supporting Laurence. He didn't know what to do - and neither did Solana, by the look of things.

"That..." The girl sighed, mustering up as hopeful a smile as she could. "That sounds like a good idea, actually!" Solana used her free hand to pat Reagis's shoulder softly. "Come on, we can't lose help now." Grunting, she hefted Laurence further up onto her back. "It'd probably be a whole lot safer there anyhow."

"But how are we going to get there? The gunmen..." Reagis looked up as Solana patted his shoulder. "They'll kill us. We can't-." Instead of trailing off, Reagis came to an abrupt halt in his speech. He didn't want Solana to lose hope - if it wasn't for her, he probably would have given up a while ago. He looked hopelessly at her as she hoisted Laurence higher on her back. There just didn't seem to be a way out.

Laurence remained in his unconcious state, his body slowly slipping into shock. (Sorry just been a bit distant.)

"We took the other guys out, didn't we?" She raised a brow. "Come on, you don't strike me as the type to give up that easily. Let's get going." The blonde took a step away from the rubble of the nurse's office, true to her word. "If we really need, we can find some back exit, maybe, so we don't run into too many of the gunmen."

Reagis hesitated a moment, before following behind Solana. "Sure..." He mumbled quietly, before quickly repeating the phrase in a slightly happier tone. "I mean, sure. Let's do that." It wasn't like they had anything to lose, Reagis supposed. They'd be found eventually even if they had stayed in the burnt-out husk of the nurses office.

"Good!" A genuine grin spread across her face. Marching on, Solana navigated the halls easily. Sure, there were other piles of rubble to worry about, but it wasn't nearly as bad as their previous destination had been.

Scrambling to catch up, Reagis walked alongside Solana. "Do you know where you're going?" He ventured the question after a few more moments, glancing sideways at Solana as he spoke. "I have to admit, I get a bit lost if I don't normally go somewhere, so I have no idea where we are."

"Actually, no." She sounded rather nonchalant, given their dire circumstances. "I never had much time to explore the school, too busy with classes and all." Shrugging her freckled shoulders, Solana turned to Reagis. "It doesn't matter, though. We'll find our way eventually, won't we?"

"I suppose we will." Reagis smiled at her as she turned to him. "It can't be so hard to find a way out. If all else fails, we could climb out a window or something, couldn't we?"



, Reagis kept walking, alongside Solana, walking deliberately slowly so she didn't have to move too fast while carrying Laurence on her back.

Seeing his genuine smile, Solana was cheered. She'd honestly been a little worried that he might get mad, but his response was comforting. Maybe her optimism was rubbing off?





"Hopefully not one that's too high up!" She joked idly, despite that fact that she could willingly summon wings from her aura. "We shouldn't need to resort to that, though. Don't big, old schools like these always have tons of secret paths and back entrances?"

"Mmm, probably. I wouldn't know." Reagis continued to quietly hum, glancing at the walls and looking inside the numerous open doors they passed. "So... where were you before you came here?" Reagis glanced curiously at Solana as he posed the question "You're human, right?" Species weren't always easy to determine - simple glamours could hide distinctive features well, and were easy to get and use.

"Hmm?" She tilted her head, caught off guard by the question. "Oh, I lived in America, but my parents thought this school looked good." Laughing a bit at the irony of what she'd said(given how the school was currently burning/crumbling to the ground), Solana continued walking.


"Human? Oh, no. I suppose one would think that.." The girl stopped for a moment to look at her appearance, lifting an arm and nodding slowly. "But no, I'm an angel. My actual wings haven't really grown in yet, so they're really small." The blonde glanced over at her companion, thinking for a moment. "Do you wanna see them?"

"You're an angel?" Reagis nodded, absorbing this information. That made sense. Solana went on to talk about how her wings were still growing, before asking him if he wanted to see her wings, catching him off guard. Reagis took a moment before replying to her question. "Uh..." He gave a shrug. He didn't know angel customs. Was this normal for them? Probably best to let her decide. "I don't mind - it's up to you."

Watching him nod, she smiled. Some people had been surprised at her true species, given her mostly-human characteristics and easily-hidden angelic ones. Solana was glad he'd taken it well, unlike others.


"Usually.. Angels show their wings to those they trust.. I think I trust you." She said so in a rather teasing tone, lips curling into a smile with the slightest hint of a smirk. Reaching back in a rather awkward angle, she tugged the top of her pajama shirt(she hadn't had time to change out of her nightclothes, given the whole school being shot down and everything) down.


Two curled wings rested on top of her shoulder blades, coated in cream-colored feathers. Small, they were barely bigger than the length of her forearm, wrinkled from unuse.

"You trust me? Well, thanks," responded Reagis as Solana revealed her wings to him. They really were quite small, about the length of his forearm, maybe a tad smaller. The slightly-wrinkled feathers were a cream colour, completely coating the wings themselves. Without thinking, Reagis raised an arm, running a hand down one of the wings gently.

"Well, you've helped protect me 'n Laurence throughout all this.." She shrugged a little. As one of her wings was touched, it twitched a little, feathers ruffling out of pure instinct. Solana giggled, fingers twitching slightly. "Haha, that tickles!"

"Ah!" Reagis jerked his hand away, blushing slightly. "S-sorry! I didn't realise your wings were so sensitive!" He pulled his hands back into the sleeves of his jacket, a nervous habit of his. "And you don't need to thank me for helping you and Laurence - it's what anybody would have done, right?" Reagis smiled sheepishly, still standing behind Solana. This was another side to him, one he didn't really show much, he supposed. Oh well.
