"So how are you italy?" Ellen asked leaning on the tree and looking around for somewhere else to keep dry and warm.

She spotted another cave and walked over to it. It was a small and doesnt go back far. She quickly sat down and watched the rain fall, she looked down at her soaked shirt and sighed.

"I'm okay," Feliciano answered, following her to the cave.  He sat down and drew his knees up to his chest, the rain making the slight chill in the air seeming worse than it really was.  His thoughts drifted to the others, the ones they hadn't found, and how they might have spent the whole night outside in the storm.  "I miss Lovino and Ludwig and Elizabeta, but I'm okay."  He gave Ellen a small smile, really meaning it.  They were alive and somewhat safe, and for the moment, that was something to be glad about.

"But what about you?" he asked, still wondering why she had seemed so sad.  "If something's wrong, I can help - we're friends, remember?"

"Im fine Italy , dont worry about me" Ellen looked over at him and put her legs straight on the floor. She looked out of the cave and straight at the other cave where kiku and the others were.

"If you want to sleep you can put your head on my lap as a cushion" Ellen said putting one of her arms behind her head to support it " man i wish england wasnt so hard to get along with"

"Grazie, but I don't really feel like sleeping," he replied with a shake of his head.  There were so many thoughts running through his mind that, for once, napping didn't seem possible.

"England?"  Feliciano liked to see the best in everybody, but even he had to admit the Brit wasn't the most friendly nation.  "What happened?"

"Just being hard to get along" Ellen yawned and closed her eyes " im so tired today" she leaned back and started to fall asleep. Her cat curled up on her lap and watched italy intrested in who he was and why was he talking to ellen.

Feliciano remained quiet as his new friend dozed off, not wanting to disturb her.  For a while, he just sat, lost in thought, but soon he grew tired of the silence and his gaze drifted to the other cave where Kiku and a few of the others were.  It had been a couple hours since he'd seen his injured friend, the Italian thought, deciding to go check on him.

Stepping inside the cave, he spotted Gilbert, and Raj as well.

"Hey, guys," he greeted.  "How's Japan?"

England

The rain had let up some not long after Arthur left the cave for the clearing, and he had chosen to stay outside for a little, taking a seat on a large rock nearby.  Strangely enough, the storm's passing left behind a picturesque scene; drops of water clinging to the surrounding foilage glistened in a few rays of early-morning sunlight, and there was a clean, earthy smell to the air not very different than the countryside of his own home after a spring rain.  For a moment, it brought a rare smile to Arthur's flace.

But then his thoughts caught up to him, reminding him that this was the farthest from home he could get, that there was a hostile stranger still lurking nearby, that two of his friends had been hurt.  And to top it all off, there was the realization that he'd misjudged two of his former colonies, but most importantly, he'd misjudged his brother.

When the Irelands returned to camp, Arthur decided, he'd give talking to them a try.  He'd been avoiding his elder siblings for far too long now.

"I do not think they're paying us  any mind. We must go to them." Natalie's speed picked up just at the end of her sentence and she was now walking in front of Maria, impatience showing in her body language. Nobody liked to be ignored her included. It was hard to see anything through her hair and it sure didn't make it any easier that it started to rain like crazy "Я сапраўды ненавіджу гэтае надвор'е(JA sapraŭdy nienavidžu hetaje nadvorje)... " she grumbled under her breath.  She moved her bangs to the side saw that the rain made it even harder to see anything. Much less anyone . "We can't see anything with all this damn rain!" she surely was one to state the obvious, wasn't she? They had to go through all this just meet up with some people she didn't even know the identity of? The people they saw could of tried to kill them, possibly a bunch of cannibals  that liked the taste of Belarusians and Filipinos. Being eaten alive didn't sound like a experience she would like to go through.

By the time the scrap of paper caught his eye, Arthur had already been sitting in the clearing, thinking, for nearly a quarter hour.  Meaning Alfred had been gone at least that long.  And while Arthur knew the American was strong and a good shot with his gun, going alone iin search of someone who had attacked two of them already was risky at best.

He'd have to wait to have that talk with the Irelands, he decided, looking around to figure out which way Alfred had gone.

Too many of the nations had tramped the grass and plants around the clearing to spot his path, but Arthur guessed that if Alfred was in search of Whitney, he'd start where he'd last seen the stranger.  Fairly certain he was correct in his deduction, Arthur sprinted off into the jungle, keeping as quiet as he could.

The American walked stealthily. He left no tracks or sound, remembering his tactics from guerrilla wars. His gun was fully loaded, and his ears were trained on the slightest sound.

By running, it didn't take long to reach the place where Whitney had dropped his badge and run off, and he guessed he was only a few minutes behind Alfred by now.  Arthur halted, considering which way to go.  Whitney had left in a northernly direction from here, he mused, and again, decided Alfred would have taken the same path.

But as he began moving through the jungle once more, it dawned on him that he could be mistaken for Whitney if he wasn't careful.  He'd have to make sure he spotted Alfred first since calling out to the other nation would risk ruining the entire point of the manhunt - stealth.  Arthur slowed his pace a bit to quiet his steps, gaze watchful.

A gunshot rang out and the tree beside Arthur exploded in dust. "Come out." The nations usual cheery tone was cold and harsh. "Next time it won't be a warning."

"Damn it, look before you shoot, will you?" Arthur snapped, pushing through the cluster of trees betwwen himself and Alfred.  "If Whitney's anywhere around here, he probably heard that and knows where we are."

Elen drifted off slowly and ended up falling sideways in her sleep. He impact woke her up and she grumbled as she stood up dusting herself off and looking out of the cave "were did italy and England wonder off to?" she mumbled to herself and rubbed her eyes.

Rain was normal for her so gatheribg supplies for fires and cooking would be easy. She started to collect sticks and twigs to make a fire along with some flint to start the fire and some rock to sorround the fire.

Without her jacket she felt a bit cold but took the supplies back to the empty cave which she now dubbed 'Supply cave' for the materials to dry as wet fire wood will not work. She left the cave and did a perimeter check incase someone had found their way to the camp , she hoped if the attacker turned up her training in hand to hand combat from china would come in handy, if she doesnt get attacked first.

"Damn it, look before you shoot, will you?" Arthur snapped, pushing through the cluster of trees betwwen himself and Alfred.  "If Whitney's anywhere around here, he probably heard that and knows where we are."

Alfred holstered the gun. "Good. Now why'd you come?"

"Why do you think?  Whitney attacked both Kiku and me even though we were each armed," Arthur pointed out.  "If you think the same can't happen to you without someone to back you up, you're more foolish than I thought."

Alfred sighed. "You and I both know my strength. I can stand a few scrapes. Now you....I'd rather not risk. Not after Kiku already getting hurt. Not letting my Mentor also fall prey to who attacked my friend. We both know I can handle myself in a fight, and shoot a target with incredible accuracy. It's better to lose one man than two. So go with the others." The nation had adopted the serious nature he reserved for negotiations and crisis.

Alfred's reaction wasn't unexpected, and it did nothing to change his mind; he didn't intend to leave the nation he'd practically brought up in peril.  Arthur knew the American might be competent enough to best the stranger - he wasn't a child anymore, he reminded himself - but nonetheless, there was no point in letting him take on a formidable enemy without at least some help.

"And Kiku and I are both experienced fighters and have been in more wars than we can count, but look how little that helped us against Whitney.  None of us are invincible, and taking bigger risks than you have to won't help the group," he reasoned.

Alfred sighed. "Fine. But...just stay behind me okay? I'm not risking anymore family today. Not after just finding Matt." He unholstered his gun once more and walked.

Ellen looked around for something to do and sighed " ive done everything i needed to tonight , i could go get some food for tommorrow morning. I can cook some kippers for breakfast" she smiled walking towards the stream with a stick and a few peices of string pulled from her pocket lineing. She tied each string together making a long string and tied one end to the stick.

Alfred sighed. "Fine. But...just stay behind me okay? I'm not risking anymore family today. Not after just finding Matt." He unholstered his gun once more and walked.

"Your confidence in my fighing abilities is astounding," Arthur grumbled sarcastically as they made their way through the trees.  "You do realize I was an empire, right?  I'm more than capable of handling myself."  The previous encounter with the stranger had taken him completely by surprise, and once he'd been tackled to the ground, there hadn't been much he could do.  But that didn't make incompetent in the slightest, he thought bitterly.

"Besides, do you think I'm alright with losing one of my family?  Don't tell me to stay safe and then put yourself at risk."

Alfred sighed. "Yes I know that. But we have one gun. And in a fight, we both know that a single mistake can mean death. However, I can withstand death's call longer than you could if you were wounded. I don't doubt you man, I'd rather just be the one to take the bullet you know? You protected me after our Mother died, and I don't want to lose you like we did her." he was, of course, referring to native america. She'd died slowly as his boss and people took more and more of her land away.  The Personification had taken care of him, Mexico and Matthew. when they'd lost her, england was all alfred had left of his parents. Now that he'd become stronger, it was his turn to protect someone. His turn to be their hero, like England had been for him. Hell, in some ways he still kinda was his hero.

"And I'm not letting you take any bullets!  Maybe you can survive a bit longer with a bullet wound than I, but that doesn't mean you'd survive for long."  He'd raised Alfred along with Mathew, watched them grow up and protected them and would have done anything not to lose them.  And even after the colonies had become independent, that hadn't changed; he would still do anything to keep them safe.

"The last thing I'd ever do is stand by and let you or Mathew get hurt, Alfred."

(Wasn't Mexico a Spanish colony...?)

(Yes but technically the three's mother was Native America.)

Alfred shook his head. "Let's just find this guy." He began to walk again, silent and leaving no damage. This revealed why the Brit hadn't been able to track him.

"Fine by me."  There had been more than enough emotional outbursts for one day thus far, Arthur thought, and he'd be glad to just find Whitney as soon as possible and hopefully walk back into camp without anyone injured.
