"I'm glad you found something that helps you."
Alexander nodded. "Only so much. Somethings... somethings can't be helped."

"I'm glad you found something that helps you."
Alexander nodded. "Only so much. Somethings... somethings can't be helped."
She frowned and kissed him.
Alexander pulled away from the kiss. All he could think about was his mom.
When he pulled away she frowned and looked down, thinking she had done something wrong.
Alexander ran a hand over his trumpet. "My dad taught me how to play." Alexander whispered.
"I'm so sorry that he left you." she said softly.
"You and your infatuation with the French." Angelica mumbled. "Yorktown was fantastic because of the strategy involved."
"The French aren't so bad." Thomas laughed, "That is true, and don't forget the spy's throughout the war."
Alexander felt tears in his eyes. "I have to go," he said quickly, getting up and leaving the room.
"Alexander, wait!" she said, but he left before she could stop him. She looked down, feeling awful for upsetting him. "Way to go, bitch." someone spat at her as they walked by.
Alexander ran to the bathroom and stared himself down in the mirror. His bruise was fading. He cursed and rubbed it. "No, you can't go away. Not yet." he whispered, feeling a pang of homesickness. "Oh god, how did I get here?"
John happened to be in the bathroom and he walked out to wash his hands. "Alexander? Are you okay?"
Alexander jumped. "Oh, John! Hey. Um... no, I'm not." Alexander sighed and rubbed his eyes. "I'm homesick. I mean, not for Charleston. For Nevis. Haven't been there for four years. I... damn I miss it."
He frowned. "I'm really sorry. Can I help at all?" he asked.
Alexander shook his head. "No." Alexander sighed. "I just need some time to think..." Alexander looked at John. "Hey... we can still be friends right?"
John nodded at Alexander. "Yeah, sure." He offered a small smile to hide that he was still upset.
Alexander felt his head start to throb. "Oh god, my head..." He stumbled back a step and held his forehead.
"Alexander?" John said worriedly.
Alexander squeezed his eyes shut. He hadn't been sleeping well since he moved, and it was starting to catch up to him. "I'm okay, I'm fine."
"I think you need to go to the nurse." John said worriedly.
"No, it's alright. School's almost over anyways."
"Fine, but you should go home immediately and rest."
"No, I've got things to do." Alexander winced as his head throbbed. "Ow, fuck!"
"Those things can't be as important as your health."
