Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

"I'd love to..." she said "But I've got a few errands to run before I'm free this evening." She paused for a moment comtemplating her schedule as she stroked the now loudly purring Bartholomew. "How about tomorrow? Around two or two-thirty?" She asked with a slightly hopeful lit to her voice.

"Sounds like a plan.", Ronan replied with a sly grin. "Tomorrow between two and two-thirty it is. Until then, I bid you good day, my fair lady." Ronan flashed one more smile before turning to walk out the door. Well then, that was more than productive, he thought to himself as he strolled rather cheerfully back to his apartment.

@OriginalDaydreamer

((yes, yes I saw. I've been busy with family stuff and getting Sleipnir ready for her trip to New Mexico))

"Uh, right. Typically we don't just let murderers go. I imagine the lawyers have already come to speak with you and offer you whatever deals they had?" She asked. She wouldn't have been surprised if one of the deals offered to the man was a number of years in service with the department. He did only murder one guy, and reform seemed to be the name of the game around here. Of course, it made sense. It would be terribly expensive to lock up these metahumans or others with terribly long lifespans for all of their lives.

@Archangel Galdrael

Greyston headed downstairs, and went to find Piper. He had a task for her down in New Mexico hunting some kind of old Navajo demon of sorts. She took off down that way, and took Sanja and a couple of others with her.

@Sleipnir

"Right, right. Yeah, since back then." Buwan said, as though he was actually part of the department, he debated telling the man the truth, but decided against it. "Yeah, I ended up down here because I got sick up in Detroit. I've been here recovering since then." He told William, inspecting his face to see how that news hit. It wasn't really a lie, he'd been on business in Detroit and gotten terrible sick.

@Elias.

Wednesday and Caden found themselves near Fred's store, they stayed near an alley across the street and watched what happened inside as best as they could, noticing a familiar guy from before.

@BookWyrm @OriginalDaydreamer

Victor paced around the cell a little more. Before turning to where he perceived she was watching from, though he couldn't be sure if he was correct. "The lawyers spoke, I listened. I refused..." Victor said, folding his arms and looking about the cell once more. "I refused because I still have my own mission, it's contents far greater than you or your colleagues could ever perceive. I will not become a lapdog for this department!" He stated, raising his voice slightly. Not agreeing with their very goal, to subdue those who aren't normal. If only these close-minded slaves realized he essentially saved the world by murdering Connor. Though they'd never understand... Besides, he hadn't saved it yet.

@Hel

"Mhmm, right. Because you're on some holy quest that only you would understand. Right. Well, perhaps if you actually explained that to us we'd be more sympathetic- even helpful. However, as it stands your just a crazy man who murdered a clean scientist. Unless theres something you'd like to share? Your not very useful to this mission of yours locked up, after all." Liliana said, her voice was irritated, though she was the one asking him the questions. It's not as though he could get away, though. He was stuck with this conversation until something more happened

@Archangel Galdrael

''Nice meeting you aswell'' Justin said smiling. ''And don't worry. I know each person with a gift, gets that gift for a reason. You may be just Dante, but make the best of it'' he said trying to motivate the other guy. Glancing back at the Deparment, a bright idea hit him. Getting up, he pulled Dante's hand, and spoke. ''Come with me. In there. I'll show you what you have been missing'' @Trundle

William nodded. It did seem logical, but the fact that he hasn't seen Buwan in the last months, at all, kinda raised a question mark. He brushed it off. ''Well, I'm glad they finally fixed Detroit. That Karnak would have destroyed the city if left unattended'' he said dwelling to himself. ''Anyway, how are you feeling? Will I be seeing you after you get better? @Hel

Vortigas nodded quietly then slipped out of the shadows, trying to be as stealthy as possible. He didn't have tendrils to attack himself, so he just had to use some strategic places to put his legs, and some clinging by impaling his knife between the brick cracks of the wall. While he was climbing, he started humming a verse from Nirvana's- Smells like a Teen Spirit, that seemed to fit him. ''I feel stupid and contagious'' the verse said, and altough Vortigas wasn't stupid in that sense, he was stupid in the sense of throwing himself in the arms of danger. The contagious part spoke for itself. As he reached the back of Carnifex, he stopped his humming, and looked through the window they reached. The victims didn't seem that dangerous, but then again, what was dangerous to 2 soulless beasts? ''Ready when you are, Carn'' @BookWyrm

Isabelle quickly entered the building making sure that she was completely out of the sun before removing her jacket. Her face felt hot as if she'd missed a few spots with her sunscreen. She wasn't pleased with coming in before sundown but she couldn't stand being alone in her apartment any more. She shook out her blonde hair and moved the stray strands from her red eyes. Her heels clicked against the floors as she made her way to her desk setting her jacket on the back of her chair and stashing her purse in the empty file cabinet drawer. She pulled her hair back and made her way to the open case board.

She watched him leave the shop with a small grin and and was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she almost missed Caden and Wednesday in the alleyway across the street. Waiting until she caught their attention she waved and motioned for them to come over.

Dante smiled. "Thanks bud." He paused. "I feel like you're going to murder me. I guess I'll go anyways. Just letting you know though. I can take care of myself pretty darn well." He snickered and started to follow his new pal into the building.

Justin laughed in good heart. ''Nope. No murdering. And I believe you can take care of yourself. What's in this builiding will just reveal to you the truth'' he said as he lead him in the HQ lobby. ''Welcome to the main lobby of DDAMPSEA. Our famous deparment tasked with dealing anything supernatural-related with/by a team of other supernaturals, and humans for that manner'' he said showing him around. ''As you see, there are even more powerful things or wierder than me here'' he said as he made place for a Minotaur agent, who was going on a case, then side-stepped to allow a vampire to stash his guns. ''So, any first impressions?'' @Trundle

Dante was in awe. Right when he stepped foot into the building he felt a sort of crazy vibe going through the place. "First impressions? Hmm. Well this is pretty cool. You're like a secret agent that goes after rogue. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen." He paused to take in all of the different species around and then continued. "How can I... How do you... Can I? So much fun." Is all he could mutter out of his mouth. He wanted to be signed up right away.

@Elias

"Not here." Carnifex slowly crawled up the side of the building, another entry point in mind. Though he would have loved nothing more than crashing through a window and wrecking face, this hunt was more about strategy than it was all out attack, though Carnifex had a new idea for causing pain that he wanted nothing more than to try out on one of those unfortunate people inside. As they crawled up to the roof Carnifex motioned towards the ventilation shaft before ripping the grate off to allow entry. Once inside the two quietly made their way through the tight passage and eventually found their way to the room of the meeting. "Now your telling me that these guys, these two enforcers, whipped out that whole marina full of people? There were some professional spooks there, and your saying that they couldn't even touch them?" One of the two targets was apparently not thrilled about the job at the marina. "Look man, these two aren't your normal dudes. They be messed with, modified. They ain't natural man." "I don't give a damn if they're the CIA, no one starts moving in on our turf and messing up our contacts. I ain't scared a nothin, not no CIA, not no two juiced up hitmen. If they were right here I'd pop a cap in their asses quicker than they could blink."

"Careful what you wish for."

The two men, and their guards, look to the air vent right as Carnifex shot out a burst of tendrils, throwing the men off their feet before bursting out of the vent. The two brothers fell down and split, Carnifex taking the guard closest to him. The man reached into his jacket to pull out a knife and swung it in an arc. Carnifex blocked the swing, parrying it to the side, before forming his left hand into a blade and thrusting it between the mans ribs, piercing his lung before kicking his knee. The sound of the bone shattering was music to Carnifex's ears. The man tried to scream, but with the blood flowing into his lung he was only able to gurgle as Carnifex severed the man's arm from his body and threw it aside. Seeing only one guard, who Vortigas looked to be squaring off with, Carnifex grabbed the first of the two targets and knocked him out, saving him for later as he launched his tendrils towards the other, this one being the Whistleblower. "You run your mouth a lot, you know? That is what killed your buddy back at the marina. I would have thought you might have been smarter." The man screamed, trying to claw away as Carnifex drug him closer. He lifted the man up and looked him in the eye. "What the hell are you man?! You don't have a face!", the man screamed. "I am a nightmare. I take on whatever face I feel like." Carnifex flexed, causing his tendrils to dig into the man's skin and creep along his bones. "That looks like it hurts. Good. It took me a whole hour to think up this one. Tell me, who all have you told about us?"

"No one! He was the only one!", the man motioned with his head towards the other man who lay on the floor. "Don't lie to me." The tendrils dug into the bones. "I swear it man, I told no one else!" Carnifex chuckled. "I think I believe you. Good news is, you two are the last mouths in need of closing. Vortigas, have you killed that guard yet?" Carnifex looked over to see what his brother was doing.

@Elias

Vortigas had entered alongside Carnifex, and watched him doing his work, until he realised there was a fight for him aswell. The guard was a tall dude, lean build, furrowed eyebrows and tight grip on his gun. Vortigas first went for a clear strike to the throat, using two fingers, and that left the man gagging and spitting for air, losing sight of the hollow. Rotating around him, Vortigas briefly considered playing with this one, but he got the idea. This was a quick hunt. There was no time for flowering it now. Well, the least he could do was to make this kill special. Stepping back, while Carnifex was speaking to the other man, he pulled out his two knives, throwing the silver one in a speedy arc, taking the man's ear in a clear hit. Seeing his ear gone, the man started screaming, blood pouring from the gash. As he was in pain, the mask holes of the eyes, in Vortiga's mask, started glowing a wildly green...He was entering his feral state. His mask formed a mouth, and from it, sprouted his infamous dissease-carring snakes, swirling around in his mask. Grabbing his makeshit weapon, he striked quickly and fast, slashing with strength at each hit, each time taking off a limb. At the end, all that was left of the guard was a limbless body with a head, unfortunately still alive. With a crazy chuckle, Vortigas drove the snakes through his mouth, guiding them through his neck and piercing his brain from the inside.

Getting up, he cleared himself of blood, then nodded to Carnifex's question. ''He's dead alright. Nice touch on yours by the way'' he said as he watched his brother make his most artsy kill until now. @Trundle

Carnifex nodded his head in approval. "Not bad. No unnecessary flamboyancy, just straight to the point. I liked the last touch, it was the icing on the cake so to speak." The man in Carnifex's grip sobbed quietly. "You two are monsters! You are rating a kill?!" Carnifex turned to look at the man. "And you don't? Here, I'll give you your first lesson." With a single flex Carnifex caused the tendrils that had now spread through the man to form razor edges and flail, essentially skinning the man from the inside out. Carnifex held the skeletal remains in his tendrils as he looked over the body, finally throwing it over into the corner before turning the unconscious man on the floor. Carnifex looked at Vortigas and shrugged before taking his hand, still in blade form, and stabbing it into the base of the man's skull, perhaps the cleanest kill there. Taking a second to look back over the room, from the entry point to the four bodies, Carnifex decided to give the hunt and overall rating.

"I say it was an eight. It would be a straight ten, but I docked two points for the entry, but hey that was the best option I could find that wasn't straight assault." He turned back to Vortigas. "My hunts over. You got anything?"

@Elias

Vortigas shrugged in approval as he looked around the room.''You can say that'' he spoke, looking back at the limbless corpse, and then at the room they've just hunted in. This was rather fun, and taking a different approach in his killing did seem rather refreshing. Perhaps, he could do some clean kills more often, even though the torure was what turned him on. ''Mine is over too'' he said finally. ''I wonder if father had been watching us this whole time. Wouldn't be a shock'' he said retracting his snakes, and closing his mouth. Overall, he was looking pretty tame now, but the adrenaline from the hunt still was in him.

''I'm irking to fight something that is going to be a challenge'' Vortigas mused loudly as he cleaned his hoodie. ''Until now we have just wasted our potential on fat guys in kakis, dumb guards and overall weak people. I would like to see, how a supernatural screams, while I cut the life out of him'' he said fantasazing. ''Anyway, we should get going. We made quite the noise, and I'm sure someboy is going to arrive at this place soon, so...'' @BookWyrm

Wednesday hadn't gone over to where the others were, and instead just followed the angel, sound manipulator, and witch from a distance, watching them as they all walked. She and Caden, of course, had stayed in the shadows until they moved closer to DDAMPSEA. She'd basically just been haunting around the place for the last couple of weeks, and no one seemed to mind if she just went in. She chose not to, for now, though, and lingered outside with her pet zombie, in an alley between the headquarters and the building just beside it.

Buwan looked at William and thought for a moment, "Yes, likely. However, I'm being sent out West, soon, last I heard. I'll be based out of Denver soon." Buwan said. It was always good to have a contact within the department, if he could make friends, then perhaps it would be easier to protect the reputation of the brotherhood he belonged to.

Greyston rolled out from his office and headed over to the board, pining a large piece of paper on it with the discovered remains of the scientist and the bodies at the marina. He looked at any who gathered and said, "We have a new case. This looks pretty bad, and I've had eyes and ears on the two responsible before. The agent who went out for primary reconnaissance returned and gave our sketch artists this description:" As he said that, he pinned three pictures on the board, two of Carnifax and Vortigas in their feral forms, and one of the mask that he had seen one of them wearing as they left- Vortigas's mask.

"Anyone interested in checking this one out? I would go with you, but it seem's I'm still a bit incapacitated." He said. The last part was more than a little bitter.

Alexander had headed downstairs and heard this last part. The case seemed interesting enough, he supposed. "Yeah, I'm in." He said to the others, Greyston nodded, and then Melody appeared near Justin. It took the form of a little girl this time, and sang it's own interest.

"I can't just sit here and watch it

If we don't stop it no one will "
It quoted Thousand Foot Krutch's War of Change this time, and seemed very confident for some reason that it could help.

Fred shrugged off Wednesday's behavior, ghosts had their own mannerisms and patterns of thought that she couldn't understand and as far as she felt she probably wouldnt understand them until she herself had passed on. She shook such thoughts aside and finished packing some of her clothes away before she made the trip to HQ. Once packed she took a quick shower to help her wash off that grimy travel feeling.

She emerged for the first time in days feeling clean and refreshed and set about piecing together an outfit before settling on a deep green dress, black thigh highs, and a comfortable pair of ankle boots. Wasting no more time Fred took up her bags as well as Bartholomew and hailed the cab that would transport them to their new home away from home.

Isabelle studied the board and upon her superior's entrance she turned her attention to him. She looked at the new case, "I'll go as well," she offered. She took a closer look at the images on the board and swore in French, "Mon Dieu, I've never seen anything like this." She turned to Grayson, "Do we have any possible information on the subjects in the sketches?" she asked.

Dante smiled. My time to shine. He thought to himself. He raised his hand and said, "I'll go too. If you don't mind an addition to the group." He planned on sounding confident and it worked. He didn't care that no one except Justin knew who he was. He wanted to do something. Although he was shy about being a human out of the supernatural group, as he said before, he could take care of himself.

"Well, you don't work here, do you?" Greyston asked, a bit confused as to why the man was there. He, of course, had no problem if the man was useful and wanted to join, then he supposed he could. Once the group was ready, he looked around to see who he could put on lead for this mission. There were no older agents who had volunteered, and he couldn't put the sound elemental, Melody, in charge. He looked around to see if any others volunteered.

The Hollows had made good time leaving the underground. Not five minutes afterwards the place had been crawling with the local mob thugs and underhanded cops who had been bought out. Carnifex and Voritgas had found an Order safe zone not far away. It looked like an abandoned fenced off zone with nothing but old shipping containers stacked up, but it held a secret safe house and forward operation base for assets in the field. There were always Order personal there, they usually rotated out at random times to keep suspicion low. Carnifex sat in a corner, his legs crossed and hands on his knees. It was an odd habit, one he figured had carried over from his previous life...whatever that was. Unlike Vortigas, who seemed to remember some of his previous human life, Carnifex had lost all memory of his life as a human. There were habits that still lingered, but no memories, no nothing, except in his dreams.

That in and of itself was strange. He was a Hollow. Hollows weren't supposed to dream, yet he still did. It was mostly static, just nonsense or bloodshed. Sometimes he would see an evil figure standing over his own body, laughing at him before it gutted him, other times he would see a beautiful young woman with silver hair and green eyes. Those dreams were happy, up until she began to cry blood and his feral form would tear her to pieces. Carnifex "opened" his eyes, a movement only noticeable to those who could see spirits, and looked over at his brother. They were alone in a rather nice room that had been prepared for them, so he felt more inclined to talk freely. "Do you dream anymore?"

@Elias

Justin announced his involvment as well in this strange case. This looked interesting. Two halloween-spooky guys, that seemed to transform at will into something more great. Looking at the sketches, he wondered how savage where they in battle. The first 'guy' seemed large and full of tendrils, almost 'Carnage (Marvel Comics) style, the other, had snakes coming from his mouth, and he had a more slender, tall build. Standing back, he smiled at Melody, then looked around to see who else was going to join.

William chatted with Buwan more, but then noticed the crowd that was forming in the case room, and headed there, bidding Buwan farewell. Reaching the group, he took a look over the cases, and immediately understood what was going on. Turning to Greyston, he volunteered aswell. ''I would like to go aswell. This guys look like tough nuts to crack'' @Hel

Vortigas, who was playing with his knives, not knowing what to do, turned his head, interested in Carnifex's question. ''Interesting question'' he mused as he layed on his back, trying to remember. '' I believe so'' he said with a shrug. ''But they're not usual dreams. They manifest more like altered memories'' he said musing loudly. ''I usually see the room where I was tortured, Father visiting me each and everyday, to see how much I've changed. In these dreams, I always try to escape, screaming, crying '' he said with a involutary shrug, as if the dreams were giving him shivers. ''I don't even remember how to cry or scream, yet in these dreams, I do it, as if I'm still human, as if I'm still that weak soul from back then'' he said with a sigh. ''And then the dream goes black. Pitch black. And I wake up'' he said interested. ''Obviously, some things from the other life, have passed on to this one. That happened to you aswell, I'm sure'' he said noting Carnifex's position. ''What do you dream of?'' @BookWyrm

"Death.", Carnifex replied. "I don't remember my previous life anymore, but I do know it involved someone. A woman, silver hair with green eyes. Besides that, I dream about something else. Something standing over me, as if it has almost killed me and it's gloating before it finishes me off. I've never seen it before, but I can't seem to shake it." Carnifex shrugged, shaking his head. "What the hell, maybe I'm just bored. Father told us to stay here until further notice, I'm just curious why? Though, I think I have an idea as to why."

Carnifex stood up and stretched, another habit that has carried over into this life. "I think the Department has finally found our bread crumbs."

The cab ride was over in what felt like seconds, and just as quickly she was striding into the lobby carrying an overnight bag with Bartholomew draped across her shoulders not unlike a mink stole. Stopping at the receptionist's desk she asked. "Can you tell me where Greyston and Piper are?" Before being directed to the case room. "Thanks." She says with a kind smile before continuing on.

She saw the crowd even before she reached the room and the lingering smile dropped from her face. "It looks like something big is happening yet again." She sends to Barty via their link and he replied in kind. "The supernatural world is all shaken up. A lot of big things have been happening and just as many have not yet come to pass luv." His final words had that eerie prophetic ring to them, as if he knew something that she didn't and either wouldn't or couldn't tell her yet. She hated that feeling. She made it to the crowd on the tail end of the briefing and raised her hand to get Corin's attention.
