Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

Ronan looked over to Fred when she replied and found himself taken back for a moment. He had expected someone, just maybe not someone as pretty as the young woman standing before him now. Alright hotshot, get it together. "Yes, I have been looking for something very specific, and so far I haven't had any luck." Ronan took a step closer, still looking Fred over while trying to not appear to be ogling her. "You wouldn't happen to have any form of Hydra bone powder, or for that matter any form of Hydra bone, would you?"

----------------

Carnifex leaned forward, thinking over Vortigas' proposition. "I wouldn't mind running down some fresh meat. And I'd like to get out of this place." Right about that time Father walked into the room. "I've got your first official mission prepped and ready, but I couldn't help but wonder if you two might enjoy some hunting time. So how about you two take the rest of the day and get out, on my permission, and run down some game until around midnight, then meet up at rally point delta for the intel. Sound good?" Carnifex formed an evil stitched grin across his mask. "Just made my day pops. Come on bro, lets go tear something up."

@OriginalDaydreamer @Elias

(That's wonderful, @Trundle :) )

Sanja took this as meaning they were free to go and stood up. She stopped by her work station, picking up a necklace and note book with a pencil. She then headed down to the cell blocks. She headed straight for Bael: She wasn't done asking questions.

She watched him through the glass for a minute, then went to the door. She didn't know what to expect when she stepped in, and was shocked by just how cold it was inside. He looked up and seemed very displeased when he saw Sanja. "I just wanna talk to you," she told him. "I hope that's not too intrusive. I know lots of spirits tend to be very shy."

He huffed, glaring at her, and rolled his eyes. "Sure. Whatever. What do you want to ask?"

"Anything you'll let me." Sanja sat down, holding her pencil and notebook.

Shylock was, meanwhile, wandering Department Headquarters, looking around. He had wondered for a long time what this place was like, and now he was here, in the middle of it. Not exactly a good place to stand for him. The vampire wondered if he should be nervous, but he really wasn't at all. This, to him, wasn't particularly nerve-wracking though. In fact - it was less nerve-wracking than what he was used to. He paused by a white-haired boy's desk, fascinated by the gun sitting in plain sight. "Wow," Shylock grinned and glanced at him. He looked up, but didn't say anything. "What is that - a Desert Eagle? Man, that's ridiculous. Why would you waste your money on this? I mean, sweet gun, but surely this can't be effective?" The boy almost grinned, glancing at Shylock, who's eyes widened. "You can shoot this, can't you?"

"Say hello to agent Sander Evans, Shylock," Galleytrot paused next to them. "Best sharpshooter this sorry group's got."

Shylock looked at him. "With that gun? Why's he working here?"

Galleytrot laughed. "Heck if I know!" He turned and left.

Shylock glanced at Evans once more then turned to leave, glancing back again.

Piper sighed. "I don't think they know what it is they're asking for," she said irritably. "Did you let them know what everyone entails?"

@Sleipnir (second reminder + time skip)

''Can't you just change appearance like I do?'' asked Evan-Dor who jumped into the air at high speed and rotated before hitting the ball, the addition of the centrifugal force made the ball reach hypersonic levels of speed. It was directed to the upper left corner of Death's part of the field.

A few hours later...

The game ended with Death's win. Evan-Dor tried his best but in the end lost. The score was: Death-1000 points, Evand-Dor- 850 points.

''It was a good game'' said the observer.

Vortigas chuckled to himself as he heard what father said. Finally. Some free carnage time. ''Thanks pops'' he said in his usual gleeful-crazy tone as he patted his creator on the shoulder. Turning back to Carnifex, he said. ''Hold on on a minute. Gots to take my gear''. It took him about 2 minutes, and when he came back, he didn't seem any different. Of course, one wouldn't know that he stuffed a lot of his favourite knives and weapons, under his hoodie jacket. ''Ready'' he said turning his head. ''Let's wreck shit up...What place or what person do you have in mind, Carnifex?'' @Trundle

Noticing his gaze she turned her head, as a curtain of hair cascaded down to hide the blush spreading across her cheeks. Shaking it off she reached down behind the counter and took out her inventory ledger. "I think that I've got some hydra bone splinters in stock..." she says pulling her hair all to one side as she flips through the book before her. After a moment she looks up at him and says, "And you're in luck, I have got it. Just how much do you need." she asks before shutting the book and looking up to face him.

Dante smiled as he watched everyone passing by, making quite a bit of money. As he finished, he took a deep breath and watched as a few people who stood near him applauded. "Thanks everyone." As someone sat down next to him and appreciated his singing, he smiled and laughed awkwardly. "Thanks man. It means a lot." He picked up his little fidora and put the money in his guitar case and closed it. "So what's your name pal?" He asked the man. @Elias

Buwan turned towards William, forgetting that he had been here undercover, checking up on a murder to see if it had been done by an unnamed faction- the one who opposed the GFB.

"Oh, hello... William, right?" He asked, looking at the man, he could barely even remember which name he had given the man. "Good to see you again."

"Yes, Piper, I just said that I told him what everyone meant." Greyston said. He headed out to the main room and checked out the open cases still on the board. There were a second set of murders that had happened the day before. The mad in the tree was still unsolved, and the newest case involved an accident scene: It seemed someone had been transporting some illegal property: Dead bodies that had been drained of all their blood, meticulously.

Liliana sighed and headed out to check on things herself. The lawyers would be dealing with Victor, surely, but still she headed down to his cell for some reason. She wanted to know what was so important there. When she arrived, she pressed the com button.

"Hello?" She asked, "You don't seem to be very busy. You mind answering a question of mine?"

@Archangel Galdrael

Ronan noticed the slight blush across Fred's cheeks and smiled. "Oh don't hide it. Despite the fact that you have beautiful hair, your face is to pretty to cover up." Ronan chuckled lightly, not to make fun but to try and let Fred relax. She was after all quite attractive, and she had the Hydra splinters, so it wouldn't do him any good to make her feel uncomfortable. "Well now I guess I hit the jackpot. A beautiful woman to talk with, and Hydra bone as the icing on the cake. If at all possible, and not to put to fine a point on it, I could probably use as much as you are willing to part with. I hate to admit it but I tend to have use of it more often than not, but sometimes a little risk is rewarded." Ronan flashed a big smile after his last statement. Of course it was obvious he was flirting with Fred, but it wasn't everyday he met someone like her. Ronan could smell an arcane scent about her thanks to his Dire Wolf enhanced senses. Every magic user had a different smell, some stronger than others. Fred's just so happened to be very pleasant, fitting for someone like her.

"Preferably somewhere out of sight. We aren't ready to reveal ourselves to the world just yet.", Father called as the two Hollows left for the hunt. Around thirty minutes later the two had made their way to a sketchy side of DC, specifically the lower levels of a parking garage known to be the place for some "deals" if you were in the market. The two Hollows jumped from the garage to a catwalk that hung over a hidden alleyway that had been turned into a makeshift marketplace. "Welcome to the wannabe black market. I've been scooping this place out for weeks. We're restricted from hitting the true black market, but Father said this one is free for the taking. So, welcome to the new hunting grounds.", Carnifex said quietly as they stalked above the street. "I've been tracking a small time gang of wannabe mafia types that are stirring up some trouble with the local bosses down here. They have guts, guns, and information regarding a specific someone that was a little too close to that fat guy back at the marina. He's been spilling some news, mostly rumors, about the two of us. I want to confirm them, let them see what happens if you talk about the Order, but I want to do it quietly."

The two brothers turned a corner and came to a stop above what looked like a form of restaurant. "The mob informant and our whistleblower are supposed to be meeting on the third floor. My intel told me it would be near a window, right before I gutted him. He didn't say much after that, he just leaked all over the place."

@OriginalDaydreamer @Elias

"I'm sorry, it's just — they know about Bael and still want him there?" She knew he wasn't the only one who wouldn't be too data social event, but he was possibly the most dangerous.

''Justin'' he said as he shook the guy's hand. ''And as soon as I get your name, I'm really curious as to how you make yourself sound so loud...What is it? Sound magic? Are you a sound elemental or something?'' he said as he laid back, glancing at Dante. @Trundle

''Likewise'' Will said as he grabbed a seat and sat next to Buwan. ''It's been so long. Haven't seen you since...'' he said trying to reclaim the memories. ''Since the aswang-mixed race group murder, right? Good times. What are you doing here? As in our medical ward, specifically?'' @Hel

Vortigas nodded quietly to show that he understood then glanced around, specifically at the higher floor, where the whistleblower and the other one were supposed to meet. Scratching his chin, the hollow untied his jacket, and pulled out two of his favourite small weapons. One, a medium-sized knife with a silvery handle, and shiny blade, and the other was what seemed to be a mix of a butcher's meatknife and a machete. That one was more of a makeshift weapon that he made one time when he was bored. See, he liked to use weapons even though they weren't as effective, as say, Carnifex's claws. Vortigas didn't feel the need to go feral on someone's asses unless it was necessary. And plus, slashing up your enemy, gave him that Jason Voorhees-vibe from the classic horror movies that he used to watch when he was younger. Who was wearing a mask and chopping people up now? Not Jason. Vortigas.

Glancing back, he spoke. ''So what do we do now? Do we just wait for them to meet, or are they already in?'' @BookWyrm

"I haven't seen anything yet." Carnifex watched the street below, wondering about how many people could disappear before someone started to notice. It was a tempting thought, but it would have to wait. "Unfortunately, I have the strange feeling that we are going to have to wait for a bit." Carnifex sat down and watched the building as slowly allowed tendrils to form out of from his body. The tendrils writhed around, clinging to any dark area they could find. Eventually, Carnifex looked more like a strange shadowy shape then a humanoid form.

(More to come later, got to go to work)

@Elias

Dante lost his smile when he was asked what he was. He replied calmly, "Sound elemental? Magic? What are you talking about man? I'm just loud I guess." He laughed out loud and nervously scratched the back of his head. He knew he was special but... What? He had no idea what this guy was talking about. Dante thought he was crazy.

''Smart choice'' Vortigas said admiratevely as he looked for a shadowy place to hide himself aswell. Eventually, he found a little spot where he could watch over the window, yet still not be seen. Tucking in, he dragged his already black hoodie over his head, and stood in the darkness. The only trace that would show he is there, would be if someone looked close enough, to notice the mask. Otherwise, he couldn't be seen either. Patient, he waited. @Trundle

Dante shot back to reality after thinking about what Justin said. He knew he was lying. These things are real aren't they? I mean I can't be the only one. Huh. He thought to himself. "Right. My name is Dante. And what you said. You seemed very serious. I don't think you were joking. Are you crazy or something?" His eyes became shifty.

@Elias

Justin shifted under Dante's gaze, before deciding for an answer. ''Look. I'm not crazy, and no I wasn't joking'' he said as he became more tense. ''I don't know how to tell you this, but I think you know it aswell. You have a gift. Don't try to deny it'' he said playing with his fingers. ''It's something sound related right? You can make your music louder or something?'' he said hoping the guy would believe him this time. @Trundle

Dante had a quick laugh. "Ya. I do. Sound and sound waves and the vibrations. So on and so forth." He looked down and smiled. "You're crazy man. What about you? Anything special?" He looked at Justing again and thought that this was crazy.

@Elias

Justin looked at Dante, and managed a smile. ''I'd be easier to show you'' he said as he took a few steps back. Gathering pressure in his feet, he took a huge leap, and then started flying up, to show Dante what he was capable of. Coming down with great speed, he did a loop, and then landed Iron-Man style, back near Dante. ''Ta-da'' he said as he redressed himself. @Trundle

Dante's jaw dropped and he gazed in awe at theming man. When Justin landed Dante coughed and asked him, "So you can fly? That's wicked man." He had always dreamed of flying, it seemed pretty fun. Until recently he realized that that is the most terrifying thing he could think of. What if he lost control and fell? He got the shivers and quit thinking about it.

@Elias

Justin chuckled as he saw the man's awe. ''Yep. I can fly, I can heal people through incantations and summon these helpful things'' he said as he summoned a sigil next to Dante to show him what he can do. ''I also have visions from time to time. Premonitions. But they're very tiring, and I can't seem to cope with them'' he said as he sat down again. ''I'm a Nephilim. I'm basically the child of an angel and a human'' he said smiling. ''I'm still not sure what you are...Is this the first time you see someone else with powers?'' @Trundle

Dante smiled and said, "And all I get was sound." He paused and continued. "Ya this is the first time I've met someone with powers. It's nice to meet you Mr. Half Angel. I'm just kind of... Dante." He was very nervous because he had no idea what was in front of him. An Angel? He thought that was wicked. He couldn't stop smiling despite his nervousness.

Victor examined the cell he was being kept in, searching for any escape, or weakness. Alas, there was none to be found, these cells were heavy duty, clearly made for things for more dangerous than a mere metahuman. Though he wondered if they considered someone with intelligence... Possibly. He had to admit, it hurt to be incapacitated by an insect-lover, octopus-man, oversized dog and Xena...

Suddenly, he heard a feminine voice coming from some sort of speaker near the cell, talking to him. Xena's voice, ironically enough. Of course, she was asking questions, he saw little point in not answering, though he did intend to omit from the complete truth. "I would appreciate it if you let me go." He said seriously, though not serious in the slightest.

@Hel

She smirks slightly at his words before responding in kind, "None too shabby yourself." She says looking him over with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I typically use it in regenerative potions, their whole 'regrowing chopped off heads thing' does wonders when you're harvesting plants." She makes her way around the counter and heads toward the basememt before pausing and telling him to wait there and that she'll be back in a moment.

Flipping the light switch she pulls her hair up into a bun with a slight smile and decends the steps. She rummaged around for a few minutes before returning to the shop holding an ornate eight by twelve wooden box thats about four inches tall. Setting it on the coumter she produces an eight inch length of smooth off white bone, bags it, and rings it up. "That'll be seventy-five even." She says.

"Can't turn down a deal like that.", Ronan commented as he handed the seventy-five over to Fred. Ronan picked up the bag as he looked over the bone. "Yes, this is a good specimen. I haven't seen anything like this since I left the tar pits back home." Ronan stuffed the bone into his day pack before turning back to Fred. "Before I get carried away, at least allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ronan. To whom do I owe this pleasure of meeting?"

@OriginalDaydreamer

(Sorry @Elias , I'm drawing a blank on the Hollows. I'll get something in tomorrow morning.)

She grinned before handing him a business card with her name and shop number. "Winifred, but you can call me Fred." She says before adding, "And, I only carry the best quality goods... Ronan." His name is spoken after a short pause almost as if she were testing it before actually speaking it aloud. Her gaze wanders over his figure momentarily before returning to his face, her thoughts turning from his attractiveness toward the myriad explanations for exactly he needed such a large quantity of hydra bone.

@BookWyrm

Ronan smiled as he thought over her name. "Well, Fred, I can't help but inquire if you would like to join me for coffee, or tea, my treat. I know of this incredible place not to far from here that imports some of the best coffees and teas you can find. That is, if you are not busy at the moment." Ronan had a mischievous grin on his face.

Carnifex had been running over killing methods when he saw an important looking car pull up to the restaurant below. He slowly moved, the only visible part of his body being the faint glow of his mask, as he watched a man step out of the car and walk to the door where he was met by another man. "That's the targets.", he whispered to Vortigas as he watched them walk into the building. Carnifex waited for a few minutes to see which room they would enter. It wasn't long before the two men, along with four guards, entered the far left window room on the third floor. Carnifex, still cloaked in the shadows, jumped off of the catwalk and launched a tendril over to the building and pulled himself onto the wall to the side of the window. He turned and looked back at Vortigas, motioning for him to come over. They would find a way in from the upper floor this time.
