The Phylactery has been destroyed (Ready for the Plague Master Case)

@KattRai

@OriginalDaydreamer

@Azure Sky

The demon screamed at a voice that left Sam temporarily deaf and disappeared. The walls flashed red once, then started crumbling. "Here's the obligatory 'destroy the vital object and everything comes down' cliche. Either way, we should be leaving. The magic is overloading in this place."

Galleytrot wouldn't be able to make it to the portal back, meaning that running wasn't an option. He dialed up Luke, using magic to make the connection, as he had no service in this other world. "Hey Luke, the phylactery is destroyed. Everything will go back to normal very soon."

"I don't suppose you called me just to tell me that. What you really wanted to say was.............."

"...............Galleytrot destroyed it, and he's in no condition to run back to the portal..............."

"................and you need me to make a portal because......................."

"....................This place is crumbling and I don't have the time to make 2 halves. You make one, and I make the other half."

Luke nodded as the Chaos Infernals started to disappear. "Can do. My half will lead back to where the Basalisk lie."

"Ok." Sam made his hand signs, trying to dodge all the debris. He took a couple of hits and he got very light-headed. However, he managed to make it. "Let's move out, Galleytrot." Sam said, and walked into his portal

Luke was working on the Chaos Infernals, when they started disappearing suddenly. He then got a call from Sam, who wanted him to make 1 of the 2 portals to get them out, as Galleytrot wouldn't be able to run to make it in time, and Sam couldn't cast in time. Luke made 3 of the SET disappear, and put the energy into summoning 1/2 a portal. Since it was technology, unlike Sam's magic, it took no time at all, but a massive amount of magic. Sam walked through the portal into the Basalisk prison, where he was sitting.

Luke laid back, his work done for the moment, and went to sleep. Oberon will die soon. All that's left is the summoned Warlock, and this case would be closed.

Galleytrot nodded, grateful that Sam didn't leave him behind. He heaved himself up and staggered through behind him. When they arrived at home, Galleytrot looked up and his expression shifted to something horrified. He was going to be very busy for awhile.

He took a breath, then looked at Sam. "I'm heading straight back to HQ," he told him. "Thanks for not leaving me." With that, he shifted and dove into the ground.

As soon as she saw the huge white dog appear, Piper's heart lifted. She hit the Bluetooth. "The phylactery has been destroyed. Our directive now is to find and destroy the Lich."
Jumil reaches for her bluetooth as the axe swipes off the warlocks head "done.... its all done... kyu and I did it"
"Hell yeah, we did!" Kyu exclaimed, pumping his fist in celebration."Alright! I killed a monster! Or, well...we killed a monster." He said, turning towards Jumil. "Interesting idea, by the way. Safe, but effective."he finished with a smile.

(Gosh darn it, I missed it)

William and Justin started fighting together earlier, as they figured that if they converged their forces, they would get more elementals at once. And that they did. Justin flew and kicked and stunned, while Will destroyed everything in his path. And now, it was over. The phylactery was destroyed, but they still had the lich to worry about. Backing up they waited for new orders.

Piper hit the Bluetooth again. "Everyone, it's time to find the Lich. Make sure you're ready." She grimaced. This was not going to be fun. She looked around, noting the devastation in the city. They were gonna hear about this. She sighed, then looked around. "Can we locate the Lich with magic?" She asked.

Jumil says into the bluetooth "I am not completely sure if the warlock is dead yet.... would you like me to go check......?"

Liliana saw Fred cast the spell and the other chaos infernal fall. She worried about the witch, and got on the mics, "I'm heading out after the Lich, Piper, why don't you send someone up to check on the witch, she passed out or something and we should make sure everything is fine." After she said that, she looked back around. How on earth were they going to find this thing. She headed out to where Luke and sam were, having overheard a bit of their conversation earlier.

"Hey, you two know any tracking magic? The shadow creature is probably still with her master, and it seemed like that shadow gas was still lingering around under a tunnel not to far away, I guess the sun never burnt it off. Think you can use it to find the pair?" She asked, looking at the brothers.

@Kylesar1 @Sleipnir

Wednesday and Caden had no choice but to follow Bael as well, it seemed as though they were not targeted immidetly, but Wednesday did not want to stick around long enough to let Caden get fried by some magical lighting bolt. She had seen the consequences of Fred's spell, too, but she didn't know the witch, and had no incentive to help her. So she didn't.

Luke nodded. "Can do. Let's go scanbot." He summoned the scanbot. Luke made the SET disappear and summoned his hoverboard, and one for Sam.

They both got on and flew to near the heart of the city. "Radar Scan." Luke said. The bot released a huge blue wave with static, scanning all the surroundings. He looked at the results, and found dense shadow magic. Upon Tracing, they followed a trail to the outskirts that suddenly went underground.

Sam marked the spot with magic. "Here we go."

Luke didn't have Liliana's number, so he had to hack the database to find it, and shot her a text. "This is Agent Luke. We found a trail leading underground. The spot is marked, so there's no need to run in blindly. We're headed back."

@KattRai

Justin took his microphone and announced loudly. ''I can go get Winnifred. I am able to get there fast if I fly'' he said as he leapt to the sky and started flying towards the place where Fred was last seen. Accelarating a little bit faster, he reached the place where she stood moments ago, and landed with a crash, Iron-Man style near her. Grabbing her head slightly, and tilting up, he checked too see if she was still alive, which fortunately, she was. With a sigh of relief, Justin took her uncouncious body in his arms and flew back again with her. ''You're gonna be ok'' he whispered as he flew back to the department with her in his arms.

Landing to a stop, he put her on a nearby couch, and covered her with a blanket. ''Fred's secure'' he said through his mic.

A sadistic laugh could be heared all over the city. The Lich and Penumbra were in the central park sitting on a bench. ''Everything went exactly as planned'' said Oberon, who was very happy for some reason. ''Took them long enough to destroy the phylactery though'' replied Penumbra, smiling. Then tears of blood flowed from her eyes. ''Goodbye Oberon. It was fun'' she added. ''Yeah...Goodbye Penumbra. See you in the face of Oblivion'' he said as his staff and crown shattered and a magic symbol appeared on his chest. His body became dust as he commited suicide to summon one last existence which was sealed a long time ago...the ancient ''Reaper of Souls''. Of course this creature was not Death. It was just a powerful entity which gained immortality with the price of needing to continuously devour souls.

''I have returned...'' it said with an inhuman voice. It wasn't interested in Penumbra Nevermore. It will make its presence known to the world soon enough but not now. It had to regain power, but not from an abomination like Penumbra. After a few minutes it disappeared from sight.

Penumbra simply sat there and awaited her death. Whoever killed her would have a surprise: they would get a tribal tattoo somewhere on their body and they'd eventually be destined to become the ''Embodiment of Darkness''.

"Thanks, Justin," Piper nodded, then addressed Jumil. "Do check but be careful. Anyway, everything seems quiet now. We had better follow Luke now. He can track the Lich."

Bael looked up, then appeared beside Piper. "I want to come."

She turned sharply to him. "And why should I agree to that?"

He met her harsh gaze without the slightest flinch. In fact, it was Piper who wished to look away, though she refused to. "Because your other option is leave me here with the vampire. You want that?"

"We could lock you back up." Piper responded.

"I want to go," he repeated. "I want to kill whatever made me see..." He faltered. "...I want to help."

Piper hesitated. "Fine."

'Right, I'll meet you back there, then' Liliana sent back, just before hearing the laughter ripple through the city. She expected one last surge, a final battle, of sorts, but nothing seemed to happen from where she was standing, then she saw them in the park near where she had run off to while she searched. She saw the suicide of the Lich and the shadow creature just... stand there, waiting for someone to finish it off. That seemed strange to Liliana, she'd rather Penumbra suffer after the state they put the city in, so if they fought she wanted a real fight. From the looks of her, though... Liliana would let someone else take care of Penumbra Nevermore. The Valkyries fought her not to fight an unarmed opponent, and in this case if the shadow didn't fight back, she was as good as unarmed. Liliana didn't hear what exactly they said, as she was still pretty far off, and she could have sworn she saw something leave the dust left behind by Oberon, but was unsure of what it could have been.

Sighing, she got on the mic system and said,
"Guys, it looks like the Lich is dead... His little sidekick is still alive, but I doubt she will be for much longer. I would take her out, but it almost seems like that's what she wants. I can't kill someone who won't fight back, not in my nature, but if anyone else cares to, she's at the park with me."

@subject 635 @Kalin Scarlet

Wednesday watched Bael and Piper talk. Bael had so much energy, to hate everything so much, it seemed. She decided that she and Caden would stay there, she didn't care much to go with them, if anything she would just stay around and help clean everything up at the department. Yeah, maybe they'd do that.

Luke and Sam made their way to where Liliana was. Luke spoke to Penumbra. "Hello." he said. "You're the lich's little sidekick, I presume. You're too powerful to keep in a prison. Plus, with all the charges you've accumulated, you'd get the Death Penalty regardless.

Chances are, you're going down without a fight, but since you're just waiting there, not without a parting gift. The way I see it, one of us will have to kill you, so you have nothing to lose in explaining what will happen to your executor. So go on, what will happen?"

@Azure Sky

Liliana followed Luke and Sam over towards her, listening for the little shadow's answer. That was a curious idea, and there could be something to it.

Meanwhile, back at headquarters, Greyston was starting to come around. He opened his eyes and saw the woman who was helping to fix his wounds. Between the pain and the haze of sleep that was still beckoning him, begging him to kindly fall back into it's warm embrace it was difficult for him to focus on what was happening. Then he was struck with an idea, remembering the destruction that had occurred. With all of his vampire speed he grabbed Sanja's arm, looking at her intently with his grey-blue eyes- the color was almost as hazy as his mind.

"Tell Piper... Yes to the helpers... She'll know what I mean" He said, before his grip loosened on Sanja, his arm falling back to the bed and his mind starting to fall back into the realm of sleep. He didn't know why that seemed so important. When he awoke again, he'd probably regret that order, but he didn't think of that now.

@Sleipnir

Bael leered at Penumbra from where he stood, sweeping up his knife again and storming toward her. "I'll deal with it, then," he snapped. Just then, though, he felt something grab him from behind, jerking him back and choking him on his collar. He hadn't expected any resistance.

He whirled around and there was a girl staring him in the face, leaning way over off a huge horse she had draped herself over. "Hold on! You don't seriously think that's not a trick?"

He stared at her. She was wearing odd clothing — and how had she grabbed him? Then he saw the bracelet. It had been enchanted. She was a spirit Mage. "Who are you?" He asked suspiciously.

She let him go, then slid off her giant horse. "I'm Sanja Thorn. Intern with your very own Department." She turned to Piper. "I was with Greyston. He said to say yes to the helpers."

Piper looked at the girl. "Oh. Well, I'll let everyone know." She hit the Bluetooth. "Everyone, congrats. You're invited to join the Department. Talk to you later."

Bael glowered at her. Then she turned to him. He was caught off guard by her look. "Wait, you're Bael Lake — the poltergeist?" She was next to him suddenly, walking circles and looking him over closely. He was suddenly self-conscious under her careful examination. "Do you know what kind of magic you use? Can you tell me about it?" He opened his mouth to answer but was cut off. "Oh — Nether Magic no doubt but I don't think you realize you use it. Do you have a charm? Is that why you didn't fade?"

"Sanja, focus please," Piper cut in.

Penumbra looked at everyone who was gathered. ''Sure...But first I'd like to thank you all. Everything went as planned and we couldn't have done it without you. You truly were our gratest allies in this war. Well from a logical perspective you were our enemies and you've won the battle. But if one looks at it from a different perspective, you were our allies and we all lost the BIG WAR. Nevertheless, I am grateful'' said Penumbra on a calm tone. She paused for a while then continued her speech: ''Whoever kills me will get a mark, a sort of tribal tattoo on his or her body. But that's just the physical aspect. Whoever kills me will be destined to become the Embodiment of Darkness. You have no choice but to kill me. No offense but I can kill you all with little to no effort if I want to...And I will ,unless you decide to kill me within 5 minutes. I shall await''. She started to laugh afterwards. She was amused by the fact that she used the word ''kill'' so many times.

Sam scoffed. "You can kill us all with no effort? You're just shooting off bluffs. Making that curse required all your magic. You're completely empty at the moment. I'll take one for the team. Sword #84: The Unity."

He stabbed her in the chest with the sword. "Now die, you hell-spawned bitch. Give my regards to your master." She screamed from the Holiness in the sword, but she laughed as she burned in the white flames.

After even her ashes burned away in the white flames, it was all over. "Guess I'm done for then."

Luke looked around and nodded. "Case closed."

"That was certainly dramatic." Liliana said, watching all that had happened. "I would have taken her out myself, but... eh, never mind, my code of combat is a bit outdated and silly, honestly. Still.... Did you guys hear what Piper said through the mics?" She asked. She wasn't sure if they had gotten the same earpieces that most of the department seemed to get, given the way Luke texted everyone. The earpieces made more sense to her, they were much faster.

As Penumbra ''died'' a mass of darkness appeared and entered Sam. A tribal tatto would appear on his right arm and a voice would echo through his head: ''I use no magic. I am darkness...and now I am a part of you''. The Voice was not Penumbra. Penumbra Nevermore was just an unworthy shell for the True Darkness of the Void Realm. The darkness chose Sam and he was a better host. Of course it would not manifest from the begining. The process will take time.

Most people had a misconception though. The darkness was not evil nor bad. It was just necessary and it simply went with the flow.

@Kylesar1

Sam called back to the darkness in his head. He didn't speak aloud "Ah, shut the hell up. Dark Magic is my Forte, so being able to manipulate Darkness without magic will be no problem for me. A couple of ground rules, Darkness, I don't want you talking to me. Period. I do whatever the hell I want. If you want me to go all rogue and evil, give up. Darkness isn't evil. You'd better not be a cliche ass."

He then turned to everybody and spoke aloud. "I got to get back to the church. We have a lot of work to do before the city is fully rebuilt and everything is repaired."

Luke nodded. "Us as well."

He sighed, and spoke to everyone. "Let's get to work and get everyone back in the city. The destruction is far worse than with the other deity. Repairs will take about 3 weeks. 4 months without magic."

"It would seem that way" Liliana told the girl, "Now I suppose we head back, like Luke said. Piper should be back at headquarters, so lets go see what's going on. I'm so glad I don't have to help with clean up there." She said, wondering if her apartment would even be in a livable condition.

Meanwhile, Wednesday got to work helping clean up the department, as best as she could. It wasn't so much that she really cared about it as it was that she was bored. Immensely so. So much so that cleaning sounded entertaining. Though, to be fair she was always that bored, and just about everything sounded like it could be entertaining.
