Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

"Galleytrot, in front of us. Down that Minotaur. I him restrained long enough to cast a spell that will kill him." Sam said. He dodged a blow from the minotaur with ease. The minotaur was a brute, and attacked as such, so he was easy to evade. One hit though, and he'd probably die because he was using the Bishop Piece instead of the Rook Piece. Good thing he was still fast.

He had his other spell ready, but they needed it to clear the rest of the corridor.

Luke was shooting vortex grenades all over the place when the green beasts fell. Chaos Infernals. Luke smiled at them.

He summoned the last 2 of the SET back, and prepared to dig in. He made his way to the heart of the city, where the basilisk melted the hole and climbed out. It was back down there sleeping. Luke went down there as his next base of operations. The Ice Walker sealed the hole with Nevermeltice. He summoned his computers from the caves. and went back to controlling all of them.

"Dispel Field." He said. The Anti-Mage bot summoned a huge green magic circle, and it made a dome filled with Dispel Magic. The other bots gathered around the Anti-Mage to cover the entire intersection. The dispel field would disable the Chaos Flames, and the bots themselves could destroy the Chaos Infernals.

"There's hell outside again." he texted to Piper

@Sleipnir

"I saw that," Piper texted back, loading her gun with a grimace. "Anyone here specialize in Chaos? What's it weak against?" she shouted. Then she got on her bluetooth. "Jumil, you be careful. Take someone with you - I don't really care who, but don't attack anything major without help." She leaped down herself to fight, pumping out lead. Sander was nearby, doing the same. Suddenly a shot passed Piper's face and she jerked back, turning toward him. He still had the gun up, focused on something behind her. When Piper turned, there was a dying pile of rocks. She backed up toward Sander. "Okay. Lesson learned."

"Orders?"

She narrowed her eyes. "None. Just kill 'em all."

Galleytrot nodded, shifting back and keeping very low, made his way in front of Sam. He then charged the minotaur, diving and snapping up one leg in his jaw, jerking back to make the beast fall. Perhaps this one could withstand heavier mauling than the others, Galleytrot thought - and indeed, it could. He kept at it, snarling and gnashing.

"Already on it!" Kyuma yelled, as he came running up beside Jumil, a single infernal looking confused behind him. "I said I'd watch you back after all..." he grinned, as he switched from the Knight piece to the Rook.

Wednesday had moved just out of the way when the shadow tried to attack her, but she looked surprised at Bael, and said, "Uh, yeah... I'm fine, thanks... Do you want to go find something to fight with me?" She asked, this time she seemed like the awkward one. She looked him over and asked, "Are you? Fine, I mean."

@Sleipnir

Liliana lept around the giant stone creature, firing off shots and trying to find a weak spot.

Bael looked down, as if contemplating something for a short while. Then he looked back at Wednesday. "Yes." He paused again, then added, "To both. Yes." He didn't know if there was anything else to say on the matter and wanted to leave this area now. "I imagine the fighting is centered around the Department," he added. "Should we head back there?"

Piper stood firing, back to back with Sander. She paused long enough to hit her Bluetooth. "Just be careful. We don't know how strong that Warlock is." She then turned it off. "Oh, I hope Galleytrot and Sam get at the phylactery soon."

"So, we're fighting a warlock, huh? Never done that before..." Kyuma said, laughing as they got closer to their destination...or, he at least assumed they were making progress. He actually had no idea where they were headed.

@subject 635

While Galleytrot was mauling the minotaur, Sam weaved hand signs to kill the minotaur with a high powered spell. He finished up pretty soon.

"All ready, Galleytrot. Out of the way unless you want to die." he said. "Acidic whirlpool." He said. A blue magic circle appeared under the minotaur, and it turned green. The minotaur got caught up in the whirlpool. It roared furiously as it got dissolved by the corrosive acid. "Let's move out." he said

On down the corridor, he released the other spell "Icy Dance of Steel." Sam said. Another magic circle appeared in his hand. Out of the magic circle flew 500 swords. Sam ran in the same direction of the swords. Whenever something was hit, the swords froze it, while a few of the others shattered it. "Let's get moving. This'll take us straight to the end of this corridor."

@Sleipnir

The plan Luke put into place worked really well. With the Chaos Flames disabled as they got closer, the bots used their missiles to destroy them. It took quite a few missiles for each one. He was getting weary of fighting the Lich. Sam needed to hurry the hell up

[QUOTE="subject 635]"Ok kyu I have an idea....." sh says facing him

Kyuma looked over at Jumil. "I'm all ears. So long as the plan involves us not dying..."

"Of course.... all you need to do is get that blade out when I say ok... but first hold out that hand...."

Galleytrot loped along behind, eager to get to destroying the phylactery. Forcing mortality on the creature was what mattered. And after it was killed, it would be Galleytrot's responsibility to deal with it. He wasn't looking forward to accompanying the soul if there was one left.

Galleytrot was unsure he believed this creature still had one.

Piper blew a breath. She got on the Bluetooth. "Liliana, you've got something on you at four o' clock. Watch it." She kept shooting, not letting anything get close enough to attack.

Bael grabbed Wednesday's hand and led her back toward HQ, eager simply to get away from the fog banks. He didn't stop for the Chaos creatures until they were in front of the building and after a moment, the poltergeist realized that he was holding Wednesday's hand still and immediately pulled his away, looking up at the hole in the sky. "How in creation do you plan on closing that?" he called. Piper glanced over toward him.

"I don't know yet," she yelled back. "We'll deal with that if killing the warlock doesn't work."

"Hmm? Ok..." Kyuma replied, reaching out his Balance Breaker to her.

She sticks her axe handle in the sword exit slot and aims it at the warlock. "Ok let's. Do this" she stands out of the way after sdjusting it to spin around in a circle

Wednesday followed along, a bit unsure when Bael grabbed her hand. It was... kind of nice? She told Caden to follow, though Caden seemed to be heading that way already. She let her hand fall to her side when Bael pulled away, and her gaze followed his to the portal in the sky. "I don't have a clue. Tony Stark used a missile in the Avengers, maybe that'd work?" She said. She may be dead, but she never missed a Marvel movie. Or a new movie in general. She was bored a lot, and it was easy entertainment to just phase into the theaters and find an empty seat to watch.

Liliana turned and dodged out of the way, closer to the elemental she had been fighting. The new one followed her closer to the other, and she continued dodging blows from both elementals until she managed to get one to take out the other for her. In exchange, her boots started to burn through a little bit, as she had bounced off of the now broken stone man. Cursing a little under her breath she thanked Piper over the bluetooth and turned back to face the remaining chaos Infernal.

Bael suddenly turned sharply toward Wednesday, frowning. "What?" He didn't understand whether this was meant to be a joke or something. She might be up to date, but Bael hadn't left the lighthouse once since 1915. Even then, he hadn't focused on culture much and this to him made absolutely no sense.

Piper nodded. "Actually, that might work — what's your name?" She glanced toward the ghost and her zombie, then up at the breach. Even if a weapon couldn't close the hole, it would kill the elemental a on the other side.

"Alright...lets do this! Go!" Kyuma yelled, activating the blade...at least, he'd hoped that it'd work. Sadly, the axe was apparently jammed in the slot."Damn it, its not working! Fire, already!" he said, banging the Balance Breaker with his fist. "C'mon! Work!"

Suddenly, the blade shot forward, ejecting the axe blocking its path, and sending it towards the Warlock. " How about I back that axe with some real firepower! Gift!" Kyuma yelled, as all of the energy he'd built up infused itself into the axe, increasing its strength sixteen fold.

Sam continued to run, and soon made it to the where the magic was noticeably lowered. The gravity in this room was normal, and it was a huge dome-like clearing. In the dead center of the clearing was the phylactery, no protection of any kind, but the demon beside it. The lich was definitely underestimating their abilities. It was a blue demon with a sword. He just oozed evil energy. "Obviously, things wouldn't be so easy. After we drop this bastard, the lich is dead."

He whispered to Galleytrot. "Hope you're ready to fight."

"Knight!" He dropped his Bishop Piece, and the Knight Piece appeared in his hand.

"Knights are known for their tricky movements on the board, the second deadliest piece on the board for that reason. As an embodiment of the piece, I get access to swords, and heightened speed. Lots of swords. 100 different ones to be exact. My weakness is extremely limited magic, down to only the element of the sword I'm holding. That, and whatever additional weaknesses the sword imposes on me"

I'll post the explanation of the sword used. Some of the explanations I use will be taken from the site, and some of them are made up.

"Let's go, demon. Time to see who's better with a blade. Sword #46: Magic Breaker." The sword appeared in his hand. He threw it to the top of the dome, and it got stuck. The dome walls turned green with dispel magic. That would keep the Lich from interfering any further with their progress. "Sword #84: The United." Another sword appeared in his hand, half black and half white, half holy and half demon.

He dashed at the demon at a high speed and slashed.

@Sleipnir

Galleytrot gave a canine-fanged grin, then charged forward alongside his ally. He paused a few paces back as Sam slashed, then jumped around him to get a hold on the demon. He knew that in this case, his magic would likely be ineffective, but he tried it anyway, shocks of lightning emenating from his teeth. The shocks were stronger any time he could bite down harder, but only for a moment.

"It's a movie reference, Marvel comics? Surely comics were things back in... whenever you're from?" Wednesday asked, then she looked to Piper and asked, "What, really? Uh, I'm Wednesday, that one is Caden." She motioned towards zombie, a bit half hardly.

Bael shook his head again. "I was born in 1898," he told her. "I mean - comics. Yeah, I guess those were around, but what are you talking about?"

Piper nodded. "Good job, then, Wednesday. We might have to try that."

The demon fought like a beast, dodging and deflecting a lot of blows from both of them, and firing back with just as much intensity. Sam took a lot of hits, but his speed driven by Knight allowed him to avoid getting hit by any vital hits. They still hurt like hell, though. He was bleeding pretty badly.

Even though the demon took a lot of hits, it didn't look as if the had taken enough damage. The holy cuts on the demon were definitely burning it, but it didn't even slow down. The demon sped towards him and slashed down hard. Sam felt the pressure, and the ground under him cracked as he was driven to the ground. "Black Hole Blast." Under the demon something exploded, and the ground under it gave way into a black hole. The demon took to the skies, flying at an extremely high speed.

"Queen." Sam said. His knight fell and shattered on the ground. Sam grew black wings and went to the skies also, clashing swords. Sam summoned multiple runes as traps for when the demon flew by.

"Galleytrot, I'll keep its attention. You go for the phylactery. If we keep things spread, it won't be able to defend from the both of us. With the Magic Breaker stuck in the ceiling, the lich can't summon or alter a thing in this maze."

@Sleipnir

Galleytrot ran to it, shifting into a human and falling before the phylactery. He closed his eyes and took a breath, both hands hovering over the box. He began whispering in some language Unknown, and it was clearly straining him. He furrowed his brow with the spell, carefully and slowly, his hands coming closer to the box until finally the protections were broken and he touched it.

He inhaled sharply. This was a dark, evil thing. He could feel it. He picked it up, and then finally, whispering once more, he destroyed it, then dropped his head. "It's over," he gasped, panting heavily. "We can go."

After studying her spellbook for a time Fred rushes to the roof of the building and opens her arms as if to embrace the wimds and begins incantimg, "Θέμης προσωποποίηση του νόμου και της θείας τάξης προστατεύσει αυτόν τον τόπο από την καταπάτηση του χάους και αταξίας. Forsete herre orden og guddommelig lov være beskytte oss mot styrkene til kaos. إلهة ماعت النظام، والتوازن، والقانون الإلهي أن تكون معي وتحمي هذا المكان." As with her spell to banish Lu Bu her voice echos as she chants. The immediate effect is the generation of a powerful storm that would blot out the portal and rain down bolts of gold lightning on the Chaos Infernals. Following her spell Fred collapses. (having cast enough invocations to last a century)

Bael gasped, recoiling and looking at his wrist. The lightning had struck his arm and he cringed. He backed up. "Dash it. I have to cover," he said, frowning. Clearly, he was still no holy force. That didn't surprise him. He jumped back toward cover. He couldn't stay out in it and stood under an overhang of building, watching the fighting with a leer of envy at the others.

Piper looked out toward Fred. "Evans, I've got this. Go take care of Fred." Immediately he was gone from behind her, heading to defend the witch.
