Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

'''Piper! Piper!'' he said trying to calm her down. ''Calm down. You didn't leave me there. You were fighting for yourself and you couldn't do anything. I don't blame you'' he said reassuring he. ''As for the thing were talking about, I think it's some nightmare-inducing dust or something. The lich must have provoked it, or at least his demonic cat minion. It made me see some freaky shit'' he said putting his hands on his head. ''Nevermind that...Are you okay?''

Jumil walks up her new job in the DDAS "Heh.. i cant wait to start"

She walks into the building and looks around

"now to find my office" she starts walking down the hall. Jumil is short because her mom was an elf. Jumil looked like she was 11 but she was really 18.

(Are you sure you're caught up to what's happening?)

Piper nodded, looking away. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay. It's just.." She shook her head. "I'm okay."

"There's nothing to be scared of here, Annie," Bael said, smiling at the girl. He looked slightly desperate, afraid himself that if he looked away his sister would disappear.

She shook her head, looking sad. "There's you, Julius," she told him. Bael jerked back slightly.

He was unsure if he'd ever felt something as awful as he felt when these words crossed her lips. If his heart was glass, it had shattered. "You remember Tal?" Annabel asked. "You liked her best, I think. She didn't recognize you in the end."

Bael sank further to the ground in front of her. "...That... That isn't true..." He whispered.

A blaze of fire erupted across the sky as Scath collided with one of the undead frost dragons. "Abomination!" Scath had a hatred for the undead, especially the cursed members of his own kin. The fire eroded away at the undead beast as Scath grabbed it tightly and flew straight up several hundred feet before stalling, letting gravity pull him and the frost dragon towards the ground. He tucked in his wings, taking the thumb claws and rending the undead dragon's own wings in half, before spiraling, only to release the dragon about ten stories above the ground. As the undead abomination crashed into the ground below Scath sent one more barrage of fire upon it, burning it's remains until only ash blew away in the wind.

(@KattRai, if you want to use Scath for the fight be my guest. I've got to go into work. I'll post when I can get a chance though)

(Indeed, @subject 635 we're kinda fighting huge shadows and undead monsters that are attacking. You should have read at least the last 3 pages or so)

Justin nodded as he got up. Putting two fingers on her forehead he recited a healing incatantion known and done by angels, yet he could do it to a small degree. Pushing his fingers, he said in a low voice. Sanaraet Vivere. and a look of proudness came upon his face when he realised he succeded in healing the wounds that appeared on Piper. ''You're welcome'' he said as he glanced outside, through the glass doors, warded by Fred's incantation. He looked at Lu Bu who was staring at them, waiting for them to come out. They would have to fight again soon.

Meanwhile,Will slowly got himself up from the rubble of bones that shattered when the bone dragon landed abruptly. He managed to bring it down, and then with a few healthy slashes, to bring down it's life-force icy-like heart of the undead dragon. That rendered him useless. For now, that dragon wouldn't be killing anyone. Getting away, and shaking the dust from his clothes, he glanced around the chaos and shadows, and from the shadows, he saw five men with masks coming from beneath the smoke, heading for him, with guns raised. They all fired at once and William felt a jolt of fear run through him. What was this? He didn't have any fear of masked men shooting. Then he realised. This must have been the nightmare of the real William, the one he locked away with a curse to use his body. The masked men seemed to be something of the real William's past, that was still haunting him. Shaking the hallucination off, the Kraken shrugged. ''No way. I'm more powerful than that. I'm not going to let some men in masks scare me'' he said as he got himself up and went to fight more abominations.

((you fight and ill get a memo ok)) Jumil walks into her office and finds a memo "crap.... they went on a fight... i dont know how to get there...."

(It's kind of a huge event. It's at HQ. it's kinda hard to miss... Kattrai would like you to revise your character with some more depth.)

(Umm, the battle is kinda city-wide and around the Department. So she would see it, just have her come out of the HQ and fight or something)

Wednesday flew from the dragon as Will caused it to crash into the ground. It seemed she would not be able to possess that one now. Sighing, she looked around, and Headed back down to where the group was fighting Lu Bu. The general had ignored Cadence, as the mindless zombie didn't seem to pose much of a threat. He had simply swatted the zombie away like a fly. This time, however, he was focused on Piper and Justin, and did not seem to notice her behind him. It seemed the zombie was stronger than she looked, as she grabbed the lance he used to throw fire at the two who were trying to run and swung it- and Lu Bu- around and into a nearby wall. Of course, now all of the chinese general's attention was on her. Wednesday used her abilities to shove Lu Bu back, which worked only badly, but managed to keep his blow off of Caden.

Liliana saw Scath and grinned, calling out loudly for him as she swung around over the lightning captain's shoulder, her sword cutting a deep gash the whole way around. Then suddenly, she collapsed, falling. As the gas took hold on her. Useless. The word rang over and over in her mind, accusing and harsh. She couldn't move her limbs and her voice was useless, too. She stared with horror at the undead monster who turned his attention to her. It prepared a strike, a powerful bolt forming overhead, charging up to hit her core. Just before it struck, however, Scath grabbed her from the ground in his talons, his wing getting struck at the edge caused him to glide to the ground a short distance away.

Greyston had seen the Valkyrie fall, and attacked just a moment to late. He could feel the arcs of lighting burning his skin as he tackled the thing to the ground, lacing it with deep cuts from his claws before decapitating it.

(Yes, yes, please make sure you are caught up before posting. Sometimes it works out, this is not one of those times. Thank you!)

Struck by inspiration Fred leaves the others to tend to the wounded. "Justin Piper, I have an idea, but I'm going to need your help if I'm going to pull it off." She says gathering her bag and the unused bundles of sage.

Bael shook his head, a slight, nervous laugh escaping him. "...No, that's not true," he repeated at a whisper. "She did. She recognized me. She knew me..."

"You never spoke to her after the funeral. You acted so different, Julius." Annabel looked down. "Where did you go?"

Bael didn't answer.

"Where did you go?" She repeated.

Piper nodded, recovering herself. "Yes, I'm ready. How can we help, Fred?" She asked, willing and ready to pull herself together as quick as possible.

After some time passed, the people infected by the flies begin to rapidly te as the disease begins to take full control of their bodies, causing them to turn into strange creatures with rotting flesh. Once the disease gained full controll of the body, the strange creatures begin to luagh madly as they slaughter any living creature around them.

Without wasting any time she begins to explain, "I need to get to the center of the pentagram." As she's speaking she heads toward the door. The stone on her ring would flare up and glow brightly as she heads out the door.

"Amplificet tui. Firmior erit. Niteat clarior." With this spell the light emanating from the ring would grow into a five foot sphere centered on Fred, providing protection from the poisons and fear effects to all within its radius.

"Pentagrams are inherently magical, and any spell cast at the heart of one will be amplified. That being said the one in this city is the largest one on the east coast." While speaking she lifts her arms and makes a motion reminicent of parting curtains, with that gesture the crowd of monsters before them parts as the creatures in their path are thrown on either side of the line they're making.

Bael reached out to touch Annabel, to push a strand of hair away from her face. She shied away. He pulled back suddenly, realization dawning on him. "I died," he whispered, pain etched onto his face. "With you. I died. I... Don't know what I am."

Then there was something else hit him. He remembered the smoke, and rage suddenly built within him. "You aren't... This..."

There was another strange flash and Bael was up. Annabel was gone. She always had been. The smoke around the poltergeist dissipated and he stood with his own shadowy cloud. Bael Julius Lake stood under the skyscraper where Penumbra and Oberon were perched. He could feel it, and felt along with it a surging of irate energy. He looked up and he screamed, "Come and get me!"

And the wind carried the call up.

@Azure Sky

Pier followed, watching the battles raging on either side of them. She nodded slowly. "I see," she said quietly. "How do we use it, then?"

They continue on, "I need these bundles of sage laced with silver, sprinkled with salt, and stained with the blood of an angel. Then they need to placed at the five points and the rest left to me."

She reaches into her bag and shoves several silver pins into each of the bundles before producing a satchel of salt and sprinkling its contents over them. "The only thing were missing is the blood, do you know where Justin is?" She asks gravely.

Piper looked back at the building. "Last I saw of him, he was in the building," She said. She turned. "I can go get him if you need me to."

@Elias

Greyston looked at Scath as if to ask if he had Liliana. Once he got a positive response, Greyston turned and headed back out to the Department, where Lu Bu was occupied with Wednesday and the moderately capable Caden

'Damned flaming spear... Lance... thing.' He thought to himself before lurching towards the general. Lu Bu saw the vampire coming and created an arc on the ground with the edge of his weapon, causing flames to erupt in a protective barrier around him. Wednesday telekinetically pulled caden back out of the way as well, and Greyston stopped just before the wall of flames.

Lu Bu was not worried about the flames, it seemed, however. He used his weapon to part them as he dove through at Greyston, almost catching the vampire off guard. Just before the spear made contact with Greyston, he jumped, using all of his strength and speed. Then turned downwards, claws and fangs extended ready to pierce into Lu Bu's back. The general turned, seeing Greystone's jump and swung the weapon up late, attempting to skewer Greyston on the way down. Wednesday saw this, and realized what was happening just in time to shove Greyston out of the way, ruining both of the men's attacks, and causing Greyston to hit the ground with a hard thud and the sound of a bone snapping.

Greyston groaned, and glared up at the General who was now a few paces away, wishing he'd thought to get one of the ancient weapons from the vault earlier. He pushed himself up with his good arm, holding the broken one close to his broken rib. Lu Bu headed over closer to him, taking his time, but not dawdling. Greyston groaned again, irritated with the situation. As Lu Bu drew nearer, Greyston rolled out of the path of his spear and up to his feet, stumbling a touch as he did. "Nope, not quite." Greyston said, painting on his usual cocky grin.

Piper watched, suddenly overcome with fear. "Greyston!" She immediately sprinted out of Fred's safety zone, cocking her gun and viewing as she did. She dropped all concern for her own safety, planning only to aid her partner in some way. What that was she wasn't sure yet, but she held on fairly decently against Lu Bu the first time she'd encountered him. For a human, anyway.

Galleytrot stepped into the labyrinth, looking back at his companions. He growled slightly. He was okay in a maze, but didn't like the very limited vision.

(I'm staying caught up ;) .)

Scath growled, his wing hurting, but thankful to have missed the brunt of the attack. "Are you alright?", he asked Lilliana as he stood back up.

(yay, haha, I'm trying not to take too much control of Scath, I just needed to phone him in because she was in trouble! Also... Liliana is not having fun with this nightmare gas.)

Liliana looked at the dragon, her eyes a little wide. She saw her shield-sisters in the shadows, standing around and watching her harshly. "Traitor. Useless Coward." They said, throwing the words like daggers at her. "Stop... stop this isn't right." She whispered, moving her hands to her ears. To her, however, it felt as though they didn't listen to her, as though they remained at her side. She closed her eyes, hoping to make the images leave. She knew it wasn't real, it couldn't be. They couldn't be here.

Lu Bu turned his attention momentarily to the new foe who challenged him, then recieved a hard blow to his side, issued courtesy of Caden. Stumbling to the side only slightly, Lu Bu back handed the zombie, sending her flying into the building at the side of the street. Wednesday appeared at the zombie's side, making sure she was okay. Of course, she was. The general turned back to Greyston and Piper, his grip on his weapon tightening and relaxing prepared to finish off his simple foes. "Piper, you should stay back," Greyston said, warning her. He needed to buy time to let himself heal. His arm and ribs should be fine, but with them both being broken at once it would take longer than he really wanted for them to heal. In a fight a few minutes is a few too many. He needed to change the dynamic of the fight...

Piper risked a glance at Greyston. "Sure as Hell I won't," she exclaimed. "I should have let you deal with Bael, and I should of let you deal with the Sirens at Lake Superior - and don't forget that time Sleipnir got out," she reminded him. "If you think I'm not going to get involved again, you need to start paying closer attention to who your partner is, because you should know by now I will never take that advise." She began firing off at Lu Bu, refilling her clip with holy magic-enchanted bullets.

Scath looked down at Lilliana, trying to make sense of what she was saying. It was then that he began to realize that the world around had become hazy, his mind clouded. "The gas," he growled as he shook his head, "mind in a haze. Lilliana, you have to listen...." Scath stopped, his eyes drawn to the green dragon standing in front of him. In any other situation the memory would have brought him to his knees, so to speak. "This is not real. She died many years ago. I am the master of my mind. Lilliana, focus, it is all a haze!"

Fred rushes forward chanting a spell of such power that her voice carries over the sounds of battle, reverberrating off of every surface between her hands shines a pure white light. "Carnem animamque lucem subtrahit rebellis beatissimi conliga hostem in sinu tuo ad acinum incendetque prunas et hinc expellas!" With the final words the light glowing between her outstretched hands blasts forward with the sound of thunder the strike and grapple Lu Bu.
