Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

Fred holds up a hand and gestures to a ring with a large now glowing stone set into it. "I'm fine, but from the sounds of that commotion I doubt many more people have one of these."

Before saying more she extends her arms out to her sides palms facing away and chants, "Purgo Aquilone Oro locum respirandi omnes." Moments later a freezing gust of wind descends upon them dispersing the poison. "We should be good now." She says as the glowing stone in her ring fades back to its normal non luminescent state.

As the man neared the end of the list, the cages stopped opening, as there actually were precautions against so many being opened in such a short amount of time. This did, however, still release a good half of all who were stored there.

"I'm not certain... the text wasn't all that spec...." Greyston's words were immediately cut short when he recieved alert after alert of releases being authorized back at headquarters. "We need whoever we can back to headquarters." Around this time, Luke said his bit, and Greyston nodded, he would appreciate a plan right now. He turned to head back towards the main building, where several spirits of ancient evils were fleeing. As he arrived, he saw the Bulgasari break through the side of the building, its tail whipped about behind it, hitting any and everyone, it's elephant nose grabed whatever it could tear apart in front of it and threw it about, it had been caged up for far too long, and it was just the beginning.

"Well... at least we don't keep the worst of the worst here... maybe we should relocate them to Area 51 again." He said to himself, before preparing to tackle the giant bear, rino, elephant, porcupine... thing.

Liliana had followed, when she saw the destruction, she wondered how it had taken this long for the seemingly incompetent department to be breached like this. Weren't there protocols and defenses for this sort of thing? She sighed, and replaced her scythe with a bow and fire arrows, hoping this would work when she saw something she knew all about: Surtr. The fire giant followed behind the other beast, and sounded a horn loudly, unsure of where he was, but hoping his armies would hear him. Fortunatly, the army was sent back to Muspelheim.

She quickly re-equipt from fire arrows to ice arrows, and shot a few shots off at the giant.

(Feel free to take control of these guys if you'd like. THere's more where they came from!)

Unforgiving raindrops hammered upon the window that Jo stared out of as they plummeted down from the deep night sky. On her side of the fenestration, a solemn droplet fell as she raised her glass of water to her pink lips with trembling hands. She brushed a stray strand of her strawberry hair behind her ear. Tonight would be the last of her suspension, and she wasn't going to miss it.

The next morning, Joanna exited the train station and was immediately enveloped by the sun's rays as she emerged. As she walked towards the large building that was the headquarters in which she worked, she thought to herself, Just another day at the office.

Galleytrot eventually found a cave, and began sniffing around inside.

Bael was now behind the man. "Hey there," he said, yanking him to the ground from behind. He stared at the man, wanting his full attention.

Piper stared at Greyston. "Now what?" She asked. She was shocked. "I mean, what do we focus on? These things or finishing off the Lich?"

Evans was already dealing with the beasts, having put at least two of these away the first time.

Luke pulled his hood over his head as he started giving out orders. "Here's what we need. Corin, you and a small troop can deal with resealing these beasts. Try to round them all up, or spread troops around. Your vampire speed and strength should be enough.

I'll go grab the Arch-Bishop to try and keep the Ancient Beasts from awakening. Hopefully that Lich doesn't try and speed up the awakening process"

"Piper, you go and get the department under control. After, get them to help out with Corin. Also, if you can, get some air-support to help subdue the beasts"

"Fred, you'll help Corin with the beasts who spew fire. The last thing we need is a charred head detective."

"As for me, I'll go and find out where the Phylactery is, while having my bots put to work."

@KattRai

@Sleipnir

@OriginalDaydreamer

"Sounds good enough to me," Greyston said, "I'll keep sanders, too, if you don't mind. Galleytrot is also looking for the Phylactery, so that may speed things along." He said sighing. "Once we seal these up, I'm overriding the council, I'll be keeping these codes from now on."

Greyston kept towards the Korean beast and attacked it with a flurry of claws and fangs, seeming for once to be as feral as the mark on his neck would suggest he can be. The beast was distracted trying to catch greyston, but it's movements were slow, and lumbering, the monster could hardly keep up. The 10' tall fire-giant, on the other hand, could. He was about to attack greyston- hungry for revenge, when Liliana and Sanders distracted him. He turned to face them, reaching to wield his sword of fire before realizing he did not have it- it had been taken when he was locked away and sealed somewhere across the world. That was no matter, he turned and grabbed the Bulgasari, causing Greyston to fall off of the torn up animal as he did, and threw the tank sized beast towards those who were still gathered near Liliana.

Bael leaned down to look into the Possessed's face. "How 'bout we have a little... What's the proper word?"

The light in the hall flickered out.

"That's the one. Fun."

Piper nodded, taking in the orders and went in, immediately barking orders to evacuate and get all feet on the ground. A girl grabbed her arm from the door and she looked over at her. She was the same age as Sander. "Layn?" She asked, surprised to see the girl in training.

"Reed, the poltergeist is in there. He got out then went back in."

Piper nodded, grimacing. She didn't want to encounter Bael alone.

Raising her hands before her Fred speaks another incantation, "Bandia Bríd impigh liom seasamh idir mé féin agus do lasracha!" This one surrounds her hands in a gold aura before causing a translucent barrier formed from that same aura to flare into being.

The flailing Bulgasari impacted the barrier and immediately erupted into golden colored flamed before falling to its base, writhing in agony. She lets out a slight grunt feeling a portion of the impact.

"The shield wont be able to withst too many more impacts like that."

Greyston caught himself after being flung from the beast and watched the witch's shield. 'Hmm, pretty and useful... maybe we could keep her after this is all through? It seems we'll need to bolster our numbers a bit, anyway. He thought to himself. He got back to his feet and brushed himself off, waiting for his arm to fix the fracture caused by the fall to mend before pulling his gun out of his holster and aiming at the fire-giant. He fired off the rest of his clip to get Surt's attention, thankful the giant wasn't literally made of fire. When the giant turned to look at him, Greyston leapt towards him, aiming to blind.

Liliana smiled at Fred, and said, "Nice, that was good!" Then she turned her attention to Surt, and fired off three more arrows while he was distracted by Greyston. one to scrape across the back of his ankles, one aimed at his knee, and one for the neck. However, bows were not really her strong suit, especially when it came to moving fights, and only the one aimed for his knee hit him, however it struck his thigh, but hurt enough for Surt to let out a loud cry, giving Greyston an opening... had her other arrow not struck his side in the middle of his attack.

Greyston still managed to cut deep across the fire giant's chest, but it was not the blinding blow he had aimed for. The arrow in his side hurt like crazy, and he pushed off of Surt's chest and when he landed, turned to glare at the one who hit him. At least it was ice and not fire, He thought to himself, cursing under his breath as he worked on pulling the arrow out so that his body would heal.

She offers a small smile before speaking through gritted teeth, "You're welcome... I can expand the barrier to keep more things from getting out but maintaining it will take all my concentration. Have either of you got a plan?"

The now hemispheric shield ripples as yet another creature impacts it. She again grits her teeth against the force. Moments later another flying swoops in and breaths a torrent of fire down on the shield which moments later is deflected onto a nearby monster.

William slashed left and right around in the commotion that started in the department. That lich managed to do quite the damage with those possesed ones, as one of them released the deadliest creatures the department kept locked. Now they were all hopping around, slashing, biting, telekinetic-throwing or bashing their ways through walls, windows and people. Glancing left and right, he noticed all the others fighting the creatures, yet he lost sight of Bael much earlier and now he feared that the poltergeist was going for Corin. Glancing around, he noticed them battering Surtur, and witnessed the Bulgasari's demise minutes earlier. Eager to stop someone from escaping he glanced forward where he noticed a huge beast running for the exit. It had a big bull-like body, wings sprouting out of it, and a wise yet scary face raising from the neck. A Lamassu, he thinks. This is going to be fun. Extending a lot of tentacles from his back, growing his claws, and empowering himself William charged and leaped, knocking the beast off his feet, in a slight moment of luck.

Turning it's eyes towards the Kraken, The Lamassu seemed to smile coldly, then it spoke. ''Do you really think you have what it takes to defeat the offsprings of the gods? I shall stomp you and my exit I shall take upon the outside world'' he said as he pounced Will with all his strength knocking him into a nearby wall. Will fought back with all his strength, aftwerwards.

Meanwhile, Justin was helping left and right, currently coping against an angry Griphon.

Evans was immediately on Surtr, shooting rapidly and weakening the beast. He roared, targeting the boy now, but couldn't hit him with great sweeps of his arms. The boy's white hair was gray with rain, and Sander had to admit, having his hair and clothing plastered to him was not comfortable. There was another crash of thunder, distracting the Muspel.

Piper worked her way to Justin. "Justin!" She yelled, shooting the gryphon in the leg in hopes of incapacitating without serious injury. "Have you seen Bael? One of the younger - well, youngest - agents said he brought her out before things got bad and then went back in. She was warning me. I'm concerned about his intentions."

"Please refrain from shooting your allies!" Greyston called, glaring back at Lilliana. He finished pulling the arrow out of his side and hoped the ice forming around the wound would melt soon so that he could walk it off.

Lilliana glared at Greyston and called, "Maybe if you stayed out of my way..." Before firing off another, more accurate shot at the Lamassu that William was fighting.

"Caden, attack."

The empty voice of the women could be heard by Piper or anyone nearby inside the trashed department building. The zombie in a wedding dress that Wednesday the ghost called by her last name grabbed a Dipsa off the ground that was about to attack Piper and bit it in half and had a small snack on the extremely poisonous snake's brain. Then she turned to Piper.

"Caden, no," Wednesday said, appearing in front of the zombie and Piper. Caden then turned and found another target that Wedneday deemed acceptable. Wednesday wasn't sure what or why they were fighting, but it seemed chaotic, so maybe she should help.

Piper turned sharply toward the zombie, gun up and cocked to shoot before the spirit beside it suddenly demanded that it backed off and, to Piper's surprise, it did. Caden the zombie wandered off, along with the ghost, leaving Piper rather dumbfounded. Suddenly her left side was extremely cold. "That one - the possessed agent. He's not an issue anymore."

Piper turned sharply to see Bael standing beside her. "I swear, Lake, if you killed my agent-"

"He's locked up," Bael cut her off sharply. "He's not quite done in but trhe spirit isn't gone and I'd say Galleytrot oughta look at him when he gets back from whatever it is he's up to."

Piper opened her mouth to say something else but Bael had already 'jumped' away to fight something else. He found himself near Caden and Wednesday but hadn't noticed either of them, instead taking on an escaped beast that he couldn't quite identify. It failed to put up much of a fight, but wouldn't back off. He assumed it was here solely because normal humans couldn't cope with it and it couldn't be killed at all.

Galleytrot was, meanwhile, outside the cave now, and scenting Luke nearby, gave off a loud, deep howl to try and get his attention. @Kylesar1

Wednesday turned and pushed her ghostly hair away from where it had floated into her face. She frequenly wished she was able to put it up like she had planned for her wedding- and like her zombie body had her hair done, but apparently she had to keep the hair she died with, apparently dying in a bathtub meant you're stuck with floating watery hair. And it was not as fun as The Little Mermaid made it look. She looked at the other spirit who made an appearance, and decided not to say anything, perhaps after she finished keeping stupid Caden from chomping on the agents. She wasn't certain who she was supposed to be helping, but she figured it was whoever was human, so thats what she did.

"Caden, don't bite the pheonix, They have bird brains." She said with a bit of a yawn.

Caden, the zombie, did not actually understand most of what Wednesday said, but she knew what 'no' meant.

Irritated by the beast, after a short while longer Bael shoved his hand into its chest, phasing into the thing's body. He had never tried this before and was mildly surprised he could, then proceeded to jerk his hand out. The creature ran off shrieking after this unusual experience and Bael turned sharply toward Piper and yelled, "Hey! Piper, how many more of these things do you have to put up?"

Piper looked at him. "Too many. Sander's making progress outside, but we aren't finished yet." And indeed, things were clearing out.

Bael turned to look around, noticing that this was the case. His bright green eyes traced the individuals and beasts remaining. He quickly found his attention fell on a zombie of all creatures and, frowning, wondered why exactly it was wearing a wedding dress. A bit tragic, though he didn't particularly care.

Then he noticed the ghost. He froze momentarily, rather like a deer in the headlights, unsure what to do. He was yet to meet another ghost, and didn't know who she was. If she was a member of the DDAPSETAMI, they hadn't told Bael. If she had been kept below with him, he hadn't seen her on the way in.

If she'd just wandered in - why would she just wander in with a zombie, surrounded by chaos and fighting? Something behind the ghost and her pet zombie caught Bael's attention suddenly. He teleported behind her and threw a monster that was stalking up behind her across the room. It seemed very dazed by the sudden throw and Bael turned to Wednesday. "You're welcome."

Greyston's side started to heal as he and sanders finally subdued Surtr and Greyston sent Sanders to drag the Bulgasari back to one of the cells as Greyston took the fire giant back to his. Greyston sent Sanders back up to help return other downed creatures back to their cages, and set the pass codes to the cages to be his own rental scan, finger prints, and password. Greyston was so busy with the escapees he didn't notice the zombie, or much else that happened unless it directly involved him. It seemed most of the creatures had been subdued, but several had taken off to heavens knows where.

Wednesday turned, her hair flying out around her as though she was still underwater as she did, and asked, "What... oh, he wasn't going to hurt me, but thank you, anyway." She said. Her voice seemed soft, but unmoved. "Cadence, eat." She said to the zombie, pointing in the direction of the Clauricon. She wasn't sure what had happened to incur it's wrath, but surely no one would mind if her pet zombie ate it, right?

Liliana had put away her bow and switched back to her scythe, fighting some of the monsters to subdue them and dragging them back to somewhere closer. She got the impression that she wasn't allowed back inside of the department headquarters, or in the cells, so she just helped Sanders and Greyston by moving them closer.

Evans took the beast, mneuvering it back surprisingly well for his size. "That's the last of the biggest," he yelled.

Bael started to try and say something, then realized he didn't care. He also doubted the department cared, because honestly, who at all cares about a drunken leprechaun? He looked at Wednesday with a frown. "...Who are you?" he finally asked, his curiosity getting the best of him.

Piper took a breath as the last of the creatures were rounded up. "Okay. We're clear." she got on the Bluetooth again. "Luke, any news on that phylactery?"

"My name is Wednesday Caden, who are you?" She asked, moving her hair away from her face again, "You're obviously a ghost, also... do you have a zombie too?"

He frowned again, confused mildly by that question. "My name is Bael Lake," he told her. "No... I don't have... uh, a zombie. I'm a poltergeist and beside that, my head was bashed in too badly to have a zombie even if I wanted one." He scowled at that, looking particularly sore on the matter.

"Oh, I see." Wednesday said with a shrug, looking to watch Caden devour what she could of the Clauricon. "That must be nice. I wonder what happens to me if she dies? Probably nothing, but I don't know... I trained her." She said. She turned to look at Bael, and looked him up and down.

Bael turned his attention back to Wednesday, suddenly looking more interested and a little incredulous. He scoffed. "How do you train a zombie?" He asked, folding his arms. He ignored the quieting fights around him.

"It wasn't as hard as you'd think, actually. I just beat her until she listened to me, and lead her to food when she did. I had to sew her head back on once or twice though... It's also how I learned to control things." Wednesday sounded as though that was a perfectly normal thing to say, and moved to the side to heal a few of the members who had been effected by the nerve gas.

The battle was taking its toll on Fred as well as everyone else and her barrier was beginning to falter. "I've got an idea..." She shouted to both Liliana and Greyston. "But its dangerous and might fail. " as she speaks yet another monster sends ripples through her shield.

"If it works the way I hope, it'll banish all of them, but I'll be out of commission for a while." The next creature that attacks her shield burst into golden flames and falls away. "If it fails then I'll most likely be consumed by my own spell and die a horribly painful death. Your call."
