Fantasy Department of Defense Against the Supernatural

Greyston smiled, and took the 'stick', and used his own strength to fling it far. For now, that would be better than having it closer, where the general could get ahold of it again. He sincerely hoped the dog would not actually go and fetch it... and that the spear was not inherently explosive... he had tossed it off towards those building fortifications, and quickly sent off a text to Will about finding that spear, and keeping it safe.

Liliana smiled back at winifred, and said. "Have any quarrels with burly men drinking their hearts out at an eternal feast?" She asked, "Warriors usually head to Valhalla." She turned back to the fight at hand, then noticed Scath had returned. "Ancient general resurrected by some kind of void necromancer... nice to meet you again." She added, then she saw her opening when he flung bullets she ran forward, pulling her scythe back for a hefty swing aimed at his thighs, hoping to slow the man down a bit.

(Edit for @BookWyrm )

Melody played the sound of a lullaby, obviously wanting the spirit to calm. The feeling of being carried was nice. It thought perhaps it would like Bael almost as much as it liked Will. This was around when it heard the news of the building collapsing, and played the report aloud for William and Bael to hear. News people were surprisingly persistent, especially now that they had drone cameras to continually get news.

Galleytrot watched him throw the staff and then looked at him, mildly irritated. His intention was for Greyston to use it against the Lu Bu, but... Nevermind that.

He switched to his human form and scoffed. "Still stabbing backs, are we?" He called to Lu Bu. "I'm not surprised. When d'you plan on turning against this Lich too? I'm curious."

While Lilliana took on the general, Evans slid out from under the vehicle and rolled away behind another, waiting to see how the creature would respond. Surely he did still require his muscles? Surely they were important for his movement?

Bael was openly surprised by the little creature's song and simply stared at it for a short while before regaining his more typical posture when Melody played the news report. He frowned, taking an irritated breath before going back to setting up barricdmades.

Oberon sent Lu Bu a telephatic message. ''Watch out for the opponent charging towards you'' he said, talking about Liliana. Obviously even though he could only see the fight throuh Lu Bu's eyes he still could ''feel'' spirits. As soon as he heared the necromancer's voice in his head, Lu Bu shifted his attention towards the woman with the scythe. As she was about to hit, Lu bu did something unusual, reckless, crazy and...hardcore. He caught the blade of the scythe with his right elbow and knee. Meanwhile the spear which Greyston threw away landed on its edge causing an outburst of blue flamesand making it spring upwards. It was currently in the air.

^''catching'' a blade with the elbow and knee :D

@KattRai @Sleipnir

"Fred." "Basically what she said, now if you'll excuse me." She says before taking off after the staff that she saw Greyston discard.

Galleytrot saw the witch and immediately recognized that this is what she was. He didn't deter her. He turned his attention toward the Valkyrie — an admirable creature if ever he knew one — and something occurred to him. He looked at the sky, raised a hand, and called forth a thunder storm. Lightning could do them very well.

Bael heard the thunder as the storm began rolling in quickly. He could already tell that shelter would be an immediate must for any humans about, and turned his attention toward them. Civilians who had offered volunteer labor in the barriers were already retreating, as were a few others. He stepped back and clenched his jaw, taking a deep, slow breath. He couldn't get anything to move, though, and made a displeased noise, going back to working by hand.

"Oops..." Greyston muttered, watching where the spear had landed erupt in flames. He hated doing more damage to the city than necessary... but it happened sometimes.

Liliana was clearly surprised by the man catching her scythe, but that was fine. She sent out a jolt of Oden's lightning through Lu Bu, and swung around to land a kick on the undead's jaw.

Melody saw the storm, and morphed herself into an overhead umbrella, clearly trying to help, even if it wasn't very useful.

Taking up the staff Fred draws on its magic using her own, engulfing herself in a corona of cobalt flames, the same flames being reflected in her irises. She takes a few moments to acclimate to the new power coursing through her before firing a series of three gouts of cobalt flames in Lu Bu's direction.

Scath recalled his wings and took the the air above Lu Bu, waiting for his allies to move, before raining a torrent of fire down towards the undead warrior.

(Short post is short -_- )

Bael looked up as Melody did so. He appreciated the thought though it didn't make a difference to him. He kept working vigilantly, quickly making enough progress that he soon connected to the next segment.

He looked up at Melody. "You don't need to do that," he called up.

Galleytrot looked up, spotting the dragon. "Back up," he said immediately, looking at his allies. "Move out of the way."

(Melody is so cute trying to help. I'm dying of cuteness)

Feeling pity for the poltergeist and for the people that were soon going to remain shelterless, Will extended more tentacles and started barricading at a lot higher speed, and stopped mocking Bael. Arguing about would not bring all these people to safety. Glancing back at Melody, who was now attempting on enlighten the poltergeist, William caught strength. He needed to do this to protect Melody. And all the others. Working at such a higher space, he managed to get more work done than in the last half-hour. Glancing back at Bael, he attempted to encourage him. ''Come on. Sorry for what I said earlier. It depends on us to get all of this done for the people to be safe. I know you can do this!'' he said.

Meanwhile, Justin was recovering from the shockwave the warrior produced. A storm was brewing, and the warrior seemed to be overwhelmed by the number of people who were showing up. If they kept it that way they would soon defeat this underling. Flying back to the scene, he started fighting again.

Bael slammed down a load of sandbags, looking at William. He wasn't fixing a flare, but didn't have a pleasant look at any rate. "Apologize later." He told him flatly, grabbing a few more things and throwing them over his shoulder to move on. He was making considerable progress and it was likely ther section would be done before Galleytrot's bad weather hit.

Bael looked up again, idly wondering if the Black Dog had to do with the weather. He had heard anough about Black Dogs to know it was a possibility.

Galleytrot meanwhile was barring Greyston and calling again for the others to make room for Acath.

Will nodded as he continued to work, while shortly glancing to the far tops of the other buildings where the storm was brewing. He wanted to be there to help but he knew there probably a lot of people fighting there right now, and they could handle it. Greyston would call for help if there was something out of their league anyway.

Justin backed up waiting for the dragon to land.

(Post is short, I'm waiting for something more substantial to happen so these wouldn't be all filler posts)

Greyston watched everything that happened and stayed back. With the dragon now involved he was even more worried about the fire. He stayed back, ready to defend and doge.

Liliana tried to yank her scythe away from where Lu Bu had trapped it, after her feet landed back on the ground she moved away seeing the dragon and anticipating his attack. The darkening sky worried her.

Melody shrank back and appeared as a young boy again, his face this time appearing slightly more similar to William's, while his hair was a little messier, like Bael's. It tried to help assemble the barriers, but kept losing its grip on what it was carrying. When it saw that most of the wall had been completed, it thought of another way to help. Teleporting to an area where people were still about, and making an announcement using a sound clip from a popular TV show saying "follow me!" After which the sound elemental lead to the makeshift fortress.

(Defend and Doge)

Piper was directing the evacuation of DC.

At at least one point where Melody dropped sandbags and whatnot, Bael was close enough to catch the objects and attempted to help the small being. He was still not quite sure what Melody was. Perhaps someone had already said it, but he wasn't listening.

As he began bringing people in, Bael paused long enough to watch. He was mildly offended. Some of these women were absolutely vulgar — he couldn't bare looking at them. They hardly wore clothing.

Pants had long since stopped bothering him. Women wore them now. But shorts so short he could see — he couldn't look at then long enough to figure that part out. He grimaced, throwing down another bag.

Riley hid under a dumpster in an alleyway watching people run in the nearby street. She saw the storm brewing and wanted to wait until the coast was clear to make a run for it. As she looked both ways to make sure that the alleyway was clear, she made a run for it. Aiming to be closest to the buildings, she saw the announcement and followed the others, though scaring a few in the process.

Luke arrived at the Police station. He walked in and showed his badge to everyone in the office. "Now listen up." he said

He started telling everyone orders alongside Piper, staying completely calm. Panic wasn't in his nature. Everyone in the station aroused and hopped in their cruisers and SWAT vehicles.

(The orders Luke actually gave aren't really important enough to go into detail.)

He turned to Piper "I'll leave these guys in your control, unless you want to go fight the big guy? I have to go there and help Corin before he's fried."

@Sleipnir

Melody smiled at Bael when he helped the elemental, and quoted John Ruben when it replied: "Thank you, thank you very much, yeah thank you."

When Melody returned from leading the people, it looked back and forth between Will and Bael, checking to see if it had done well as the people filed behind the defenses.

(@Azure Sky @BookWyrm i think we are waiting on you to progress the fight... :)

Piper considered her options for a minute. "I think they'll be okay handling the evacuation on their own," she told Luke. "I'm going with you to go help Greyston out. Everything will be alright here." After all, it wasn't as if the police department was incompetent. They weren't, after all, and they'd proven it before. She went back toward the hover boards, ready to get going.

Bael watched Melody as he came over. He still didn't smile — and honestly, one might wonder if he knew how to — but he did nod approvingly and put a hand on the boy's head for a second before looking back toward the sky and fortifications. The barrier was finished. "Looks like we're done," he observed. He turned and yelled at quiet a fortissimo level for everyone to hear: "Now, unless you're all dull, you'll be headed to one of these buildings before–"

The rain started coming down hard right then, drowning out the rest of Bael's sentence. People were sent scurrying toward shelters now.

He turned, walking up to the barriers and leaned into them, staring out, wondering what was happening elsewhere. He wondered if he had a chance to get out now.

But then there was Greyston. He couldn't leave while that one still stood.

"Suit yourself. Just prepare for battle on the way."

Luke shot towards the battle scene at full speed. He got his mind ready for the fight

He arrived minutes later and stayed high in the air, but within view of those below. He started charging up for his first spell

Lu Bu seemed to have encountered some trouble. Of course Oberon wouldn't let things go out of hand. As soon as Lu bu was damaged by the various flame, electricity and physical attacks beron sent a few spirits out. One went to the place where Lu Bu was, two other went to the Department's headquaters and the rest went to various regions of the city. Half of them had various types of poison stored in them. The spirit whch went to Lu Bu's location was one of them. It entered and possesed the Vendetta spear, controlling it and getting out of Fred's grip. As the spear was empowered by the spirit, it also received a poison enhancement. The spear looked like it moved on it's own and hit the ground with the edge of it's blade causing an outburst of high-temperature flames, but tis time the flames also released a poisonous gas. Oberon took the chance to use his necromancer skills to repair the damage Lu Bu's body had suffered and this made him consume some mana. After he was done he ordered the undead chinese general to retreat and the warrior obeyed. The spear manipulated by the spirit also went after the general. To make ure they escaped without any issues Punumbra made a connection between her shadow and Lu Bu's shadow dragging both him and the spear back to their hideout using a bunch of hands made from darkness to push them through the shadow.

Meanwhile the two spirits who went to the department were about to raise chaos. One of them released a high amount of poisonous gas , specifically nerve-gas around the headquarters, while the other possesed one of the members of the rganization and started shooting against other members. The other spirits possesed various humans around the city and as soon as each of them reached the place were the population was being evacuated half of them exploded gushing out a mixture of blood and highly toxic acid while the other half released a highly potent miasma.

''Heh...This is only the begining. I wil leave it like this...for now'' said Oberon. Penumbra was laughing in the background.

Suddenly, in the soaking rain, Bael sat up straight. He turned to William where his companion stood. "I'm going." He didn't give any more elaboration and grabbed hold of the barrier, leaped over, and teleported away. He could sense the other spirits and being on the same plane as them, it would be easy for him to physically fight them. Besides, what good was poison had against someone who wasn't alive?

Galleytrot shifted back to a dog and appeared farther away. He shifted to human. "Back up!" He yelled, more irritated than ever. Just then Piper sped in, banking to a stop some distance off near Sanders.

He looked at her. "The phylactery," he called.

Piper lot up. "Of course!" She got on the Bluetooth, contacting the team. "We need to get at that soul box of this Lich's. Galleytrot, you think you can get to it?"

"Possibly," he replied. "I might know a way to get it. There's something around. I don't know what or where, but there's something."

"Don't let him retreat!" Greyston called, after retreating away from the flames. But it was too late, the undead general had vanished. When he realized that the gas there was poisonous, he called "Guys, get out, Dragon, can you disperse the gas?"

@BookWyrm

Of course, this all happened very quickly, and by the time Greyston got his warning out, Lilliana found herself struggling a little bit to breath due to the gas. she tried to move away, then brought her shirt to her face as a lame sort of filter. Realizing she was going to be less effected than the humans about, she turned to Piper and Sanders and motioned for them to go, figuring she would not have time to explain herself, then she pointed back to Fred, unsure if the witch had any sort of poison protection.

@Sleipnir @OriginalDaydreamer @Elias

About this time Greyston got a text from one of the others, back at headquarters. "Guys, we have more problems to deal with."

Meanwhile, back at the DDAMPSEA Headquarters, all hell was breaking loose. Those who could move started turning against each other, and those who couldn't were trapped, unable to escape from more poison seeping into their bones. The Random Department Weatherman was able to get a text off to Greyston requesting help, as he had trapped himself in a well sealed room. A particularly angry Pheonix was battling several of the possessed agents, and others tried to keep it from actually hurting their comrades. It seemed to be total Chaos there.

Melody had stayed behind and saw a few of the possessed humans explode. It let out a loud alarm noise that the entire southern half of the city could hear, and appeared as three of itself in front of those closest to the spreading acid, trying to get them to move away and stay clear. It had no fear of poison or acid, but also no way to interact with those in danger, or to stop it from spreading. When people began to be infected, a couple of the weaker ones ended up falling too near to the acid puddles.

@Azure Sky

Piper and Evans both recoiled, moving back. Piper cursed under her breath, turning about herself. "Update?" She yelled to Hreyston while he was looking at the phone. "What's happening?"

Galleytrot retreated, turning back to a huge spaniel. He intended to find whatever it was he was sensing and wanted to do so now. He left the city, sure the agents would handle themselves, and began hunting for whatever unusual thing he sensed.

Bael arrived at the HQ before too long, wanting to kill whatever spirit was causing issues.

Well... Other than himself, anyway. He could tell there was poison and intended on leaving the agents there to deal with it, having only one interest himself.

Then he noticed a young girl huddled in the corner. He cursed, then picked her up to take her out.

The spirit who released the poisonous gas at the Department's headquarters went further into the buildng searching for a more ''important-looking'' member to posses, while the other spirit jumped from one body to another, attacking other members each time it did so. Ater a while the poisonous spirit found someone who met its criteria and possessed him. By diving into the man's mind he found some useful information. There was a large area where those creatures which cannot be killed are kept, as well as very dangerous ancient creatures. And lucky the man it possessed knew the special code to release them all. As he went further into the bulding he released poisonous gas everywhere as a means of rotection until he reached the ''prison''. The possessed man typed the code and released the deadly creatures.

@KattRai (just as you wanted)

@Sleipnir

Bael set the girl down on the pavement outside. She stared at him, wide-eyed. She was young but was also in the department and knew who he was. She read the reports. "Go get to the fork in the river. Get behind the barricades, got it?" He stood up and 'jumped' back inside, looking around and realizing something had happened. Bael left the rest, hunting for the possessed man.

Piper leaped down next to Greyston: "what now?" She asked, looking at him.
