Astrid’s wolf purred happily but was soon absolutely soaked by the light rain picking up and just flopped over on her side so the rain could do the effort of washing off the blood

-

Eric chuckled “well my queen let’s go get you changed so you can enjoy dinner?” He hummed playfully walking into the castle. He mischievously scooped her up though as he walked up the stairs, carrying her bridal style.

Kain felt the rain picking up, and he let it run down his body. Washing away all his worries for just a little bit, let him enjoy this time with his mate. No responsibilities, just them working on fixing their bond. He knew his friends could handle the clan, Eric did most of the work anyway, and they could take their time out here. Out here, time didn't really matter all that much.
-
Jay laughed at him as he spoke. "Okay my king" She said, heading into the castle with him, but a moment later she yelped in surprise as he picked her up bridal style. Her arms automatically wrapped around his neck and she looked up at him. "You're such a gentleman" She said, a blush on her cheeks as red as tomatoes. She rested her head on his chest as they made their way to his room.

Eric was grinning ear to ear, clearly planning to make her say he was doing perfectly. He really was a child. Walking into his room he carefully set her down on the bed, kissing her forehead before stepping back. He grabbed what he needed not wanting to be a bother and walked into the bathroom to change.

He knocked waiting to make sure she was decent before entering

Jay blushed as he set her down on the bed with a kiss on her forehead. Once he'd gone into the bathroom, Jay slipped off the bed, undoing the clasps and slid the dress off, placing it on the bed. She replaced it with a pair of soft pink leggings and a matching tank. She had just pulled her hair from the ponytail it was in and was brushing it out with her fingers. "All clear, you can come back in" She said, knowing he was making sure she was decent.

Oops I forgot about Astrid lol )

Astrid just lay in her side relaxing as the rain washed off the blood but flicked her ears when it began picking up and finally stood. Her ears immediately perked though when she heard the distant rumble of thunder giving the idea storms were on the way.

-

Eric walked in wearing a pair of sweats and a black tank top but smiled softly seeing her “so what did you need to tell me that required waiting till we were here?”

Kain's eyes opened as he heard the thunder in the distance. He was thoroughly soaked, but it had felt so cleansing that he didn't care. "We should probably head to the cabin for shelter love" Kain suggested.
-
Jay had just finished brushing her hair out with her fingers and smiled back at Eric, straightening up. She folded the dress neatly, setting it on the couch. "I think Ryan keeps getting his hopes up at these meetings. He doesn't have his mate, and now that the two of us are gone, its a lot for one man. I'm concerned for him." She said, her words coming out but she was worried for the Alpha.

Amira’s wolf whined in complaint enjoying the rain until the louder crack of thunder had her standing seeming that she agreed. They didn’t need to be out in a serve storm
-

Eric frowned “does he not have a second in command to help him out or where you two that for him…?” He seemed a little uncomfortable unable to help the mental distress her caring about another guy he didn’t really know caused. “I am sure it is worse being an Alpha.. I know Kain really struggled that’s why I’ve gotten so good at his work..”

Kain led the way back through the trees, reaching the trail and paused for a moment looking back for Astrid’s wolf.
-
Jaylin sighed, sitting on his bed, back against the headboard. “He has Paul, but Astrid and I did a lot to help. We organized a lot, made sure we had full bellies for the pack. Training the newer generations. Border patrols, all of it. He had final say of course, but now it’s all on him and Paul” She felt the discomfort in the air and reached for Eric to join her. “It’s in my nature to worry for my Alpha, wolves in nature are only as strong as their leader after all. And he’s basically been my mentor most of my adult life.” Jay added.

Her wolf was still in a mood and was stalking him through the brush before she perked her ears and tackling him to the ground but jumped off before the pain could get to much. Being soaked her fur didn’t buffer the pain as easily which frustrated her but she could see pounce on him

Eric rumbled in apology “i don’t mean it.. hell even your brother had me on edge and clearly he’s not stealing you.” He mumbled. He looked at her “there’s only been a small handful of the can who hasn’t gone to the meetings… would he even be interested in a vampire mate?”

Kain felt himself hit the dirt with a bit of pain before both the weight and pain were gone. He rolled himself over and sat up looking at her. "Are we gonna do this all the way to the cabin?" He laughed, getting to his feet now covered in mud and rain.
-
Jay softened her gaze. "Ew" was all the female could say at that statement. Her and Paul, no, absolutely not. She leaned forward and managed to snag his hand, pulling him closer to her, wanting his touch. "At this stage in his life, I think he'd have a hard time at first but he'd take her. Alpha wolves need a mate, they ground them. In fact, the possessiveness you and Kain have is similar to an Alpha, probably because you are both high up in your clan" She said.

Her wolf’s tail was going a mile a minute as she crouched down before vanishing back onto the trees. Her black fur only occasionally visible by the silver grey streaks as she moved effortlessly around him.

Eric chuckled “there’s a reason I said clearly not!” He sat down on his bed though and pulled her into his lap playfully just wrapping her in a hug as he rested his chin on the top of her head. “I suppose it is. Though I worry some about his wolf’s sanity watching his whole pack find mates without him… he’s always been a more on edge type of guy..”

Kain looked around, his eyes catching pieces of silver here and there but he couldn't keep a track on her. He knew she was around but the rain was making it difficult to use scent.
-
Jay laughed as she heard him. She saw him sit down, but laughed when he pulled her into his lap. She leaned back into his chest feeling the weight of his chin on her head. Wrapped up in his scent, she sighed relaxed. "That's what I saw today, Ryan has always been good at letting no one see anything, but I saw disappointment in them. Something is gonna break, and I hope its not the wolf or the man but he finds his mate instead." She said softly.

Her wolf crept forward launching again and tackled him to the ground right in the middle of a big mud puddle before jumping away staying mostly clean and sat down outside of his reach, her tail wagging playfully.

-

Eric hummed “I’ve only meet him a few times but there’s more emotion in those eyes than I’ve ever seen.. I’d always gotten very stoic vibes from him before today. There isn’t much we can do though.”

Kain couldn't pinpoint where she was, so the next tackle was equally unexpected, and he dropped right into the mud puddle. The mud covered his back as he sat up. He looked over at her with a smirk. Two could play at that game. He used one arm and swiped it over the surface of the puddle, sending a muddy spray right towards her.
-
She nodded, "I only hope finds his mate. Everyone deserves this happiness" She said. Then her stomach chimed with a grumble interrupting the peace. "Uh, I guess we should head for dinner" She laughed, leave it to her stomach to ruin a good cuddle session.

Astrid yelped when half her front side was covered in mud at his splash but jumped in the puddle soaking him.

Eric actually pouted just snuggling her up tighter for a moment and soaking in her scent before finally letting go “I suppose.” He climbed off the bed and offered his hand heading to the dinning hall.

Kain felt the splash cover him as she jumped in. He wiped the mud from his face and looked at her with a laugh. He'd missed this so much, playing with her wolf was always an experience that he enjoyed. "Thanks love" He said with a grin, looking at the equally muddy wolf.
-
Jaylin enjoyed the moment with Eric, just silence and peace. "We can come back up and cuddle again. You promised me all your attention after all" She hummed, looking at him. She climbed off the bed with him and took his head, following him to the dining hall.

Astrid purred playfully watching him though it would be interesting to see how she’d get clean as it didn’t appear her wolf was willing to give Astrid back control. The mud dripping off of her as she sat watching him

-

Eric grinned playfully “whatever your heart desires.” He pulled the chair out for her before sitting down himself not even realizing he was starving.

Kain thought about the cabin, and the muddy wolf who seemed content to hold control. "Love, can I talk to Astrid now?" He couldn't bathe the wolf and he certainly would not have that level of mud in the cabin. Nope. Perhaps he can persuade the wolf to relax. That she won't be forgotten again.
-
Jay had blushed at him, and thanked him for pulling her chair out. On the table was comfort style foods, meatloaf and mac and cheese. Their steins were filled and at their places already as Jay filled her plate with the food. Taking a bite of the meatloaf she smiled. Delicious. She almost forgot how to talk because she was enjoying the food too much.

The wolf immediately flattened her ears appearing nervous, it had taken her so much to just get free she wasn’t willing to let it go yet. She whined clearly not willing yet though after all that pain no one could blame her

Eric downed his stein before just munching on the different foods available with a content hum. He chuckled seeing how happy with was with the cooking and just relaxed back waiting for her.

Kain rumbled trying to calm her. "Hey, I don't blame you, but you'll never be stuck again. I'll make sure she lets you out as much as possible. You'll be okay" He said, trying to ease her into accepting the shift back.
-
With how hungry she was, it didn't take long for her plate to empty and her drink to disappear. She heard his chuckle and looked over at him after she was done. "That was delicious. I'm full now" She said with a laugh.

Her wolf just flattened her ears not budging, but didn’t seem that Astrid was even attempting to take control back. It was possible the shift had taken all of Astrid’s energy and her wolf was protecting her

Eric chuckled playfully “you get all my attention now. So what would you like to do?” He hummed hearing thr thunder “that requires being inside?”

Kain sighed. "Okay, but you're getting a spray from the hose before we go into that house. I'm doing it to myself too" He said, getting up from the mud puddle. "Let's go" Another crack of thunder sounded, moving closer. "And quickly" He added.
-
Jaylin smirked at him with a laugh. "Um, I'm not sure." She had just finished her sentence when the thunder rumbled and she flinched with a small yelp. She had always been terrified of thunder, it was always too loud and scary for her. Most of the people her age had outgrown it, but not Jay. She was still terrified of the sound.

Her wolf perked her ears looking like she so badly wanted to go chase the noise but trotted quickly after him. She sat in the grassy atea by the door after rolling around waiting for him, where there was thunder there was lightening and they didn’t need to be playing with that.

Eric tilted his head with a small frown but realized what it was and playfully picked her up with a rumble. Heading up to his room he held her close, he loved listening to the storms

Kain stopped by the hose and turned it on, using the sprayer to get the temp adjusted. He carefully used the sprayer to get rid of the dirt and grass and leaves on himself before moving towards her. "Alright, I'll need you to stand up so I can get as much off as possible and as quickly as possible." He told her, the sprayer still in hand.
-
Jay let out a little surprised gasp, taking her mind off the storm as he picked her up. She purred appreciatively and let her head rest on his chest, enjoying the contact.

Her wolf still had a mischievous glint to her eye but stood there behaving. Once he sprayed her off she jumped up onto the steps of the cabin and shook saintly drying mostly off.

-

Eric rumbled as he carried her back upstairs and climbed into bed. He couldn’t help but smile pulling her into his lap and leaned back. He looked out the window enjoying the rain “is it open okay..?”
