Kain heard her whimper and sighed. He noticed the only part that had touched him so far had been a skin like her nose and her tongue. He wondered if the fur was a barrier, at least the top of it. He watched as she laid her neck out submissively and he whined, he didn't want that. They were equal and she didn't do it on purpose. "You know me love, it's okay" He whispered, moving himself so he laid down on his stomach, facing her. "I messed everything up, but she's been missing you." Kain said. He knew he'd be testing his luck, but he reached a hand out "May I touch your fur?" He asked tentatively.
-
Jay heard Eric's words and smiled at him. "Don't listen to my bother of a brother, you're doing fine" She said. Paul stuck his tongue out at her childishly and she smacked shoulder again. "Act like a child get smacked" She told him as he huffed pretending to be 'hurt' and crossed her arms. "Why don't you go look for a mate, find someone to keep you on your toes" She told him. They hugged good bye and Paul walked back into the crowd.

Astrid lay there submissively laying her head to the side so she wouldn’t look threatening but her tail began wagging softly in approval. She however didn’t budge not wanting to make him think she was going do anything but was scared of his touch.

Eric chuckled softly “just fine?” He teased playfully “he’s a good brother.”

He watched her tail wag and he slowly touched the fur on her neck, it was uncomfortable but nowhere near the level of pain when he had skin to skin contact. He ran his hand down to her shoulder before bringing it back to himself. The fur was a natural barrier, but it was one that he still didn't want to push.
-
Jay rolled her eyes up at him. "Really? Am I surrounded by children? Should I have said that you can do no wrong, or you were perfection?" She teased back. "Yeah, he helped me through a lot growing up." She admitted a moment later. She had lost her dad early on, and her mom's second mate had Paul with his prior mate. He had always been there for her through everything, including the loss of her first mate.

Her wolf flopped over on her side and lay out, her tail wagging wanting him to pet her more. She couldn’t feel it very much just an uncomfortable sting but she was more desperate for him then she cared about the pain

Eric looked at her with a pout “I am not.” He chuckled wrapping her into a hug from behind though “no but fine implies I have a lot of room to improve.”

Kain got up and walked over to her, sitting near her back where it was mostly fur. He put his legs out to the side away from her and began petting her sides and back. The discomfort wasn't bad and it settled him as much as it seemed to settle her.
-
She snorted a laugh at the pout and then let out little surprised gasp as he hugged her from behind. She placed her hands on his arms, resting the back of her head on his chest, looking up at him. "Everyone has room for improvement" She said with a smile. "But I think you're pretty close to perfect" She said enjoying the contact.

Astrid lay beside him, her tail wagging as she watched him. It was uncomfortable but she was more excited he could touch her than she was willing to acknowledge the pain. A soft rumble escaped as she rested her head beside him.

Eric smirked with a playful purr as another rumble worked in his chest. He held her nuzzling against her neck playfully soaking in her scent. “I’ll take that.”

Kain sighed, he knew eventually her wolf would retreat and this touching would end. He kept running his hand down her back and side, a rumble in his throat feeling relaxation flood through his body.
-
Jay purred back, enjoying the touch. She smiled. “I’m glad” She said softly, melting completely into his touch.

He wolf just lay out happily soaking in his attention but shifted slightly getting uncomfortable finally as a warning rumbled in her chest.

Eric grinned holding her playfully but finally let go so they could watch over the meeting

Kain heard the warning and immediately removed his hand. He wasn't really up to being bit again. "Alright Love, I got it. I'll just lay beside you" He said, moving himself so he didn't move that far, but he was laying on his side, facing her with his elbow propped and head resting on his hand.
-
Jay smiled at him before he did let go. She held in the whine, knowing they had to watch over the meeting for their friends. She saw several pack members making connections, some had even furthered them. None had come forward to claim the bond yet, but that would take probably a few more meetings to start happening.

Astrid seemed to settled when he stopped touching her and laid down by her side. It wasn’t long until her wolf faded into a light sleep but her tail kept wagging.

-

Eric chuckled softly “you can have all my attention when we return.” He whispered just watching the crowd

Kain was quite content to lay there, watching his mate take a nap. He didn't realize how much he'd missed her wolf as much as he had. But then again, why wouldn't he? Her wolf was as beautiful as she was and he was lucky enough to get both as a mate.
-
Jay looked over at him when he chuckled. She smiled at him though "I'll be holding you to that" She whispered back.

Her wolf rested clearly absolutely exhausted and worn out from the break free but it seemed she wasn’t going to be willing to give up control yet.

Eric wrapped his arms around her again and rested them on her hips “I promise.” He chuckled but watched the clan. It seemed like a few hours later things were beginning to wind down

Kain kept watch, he had changed positions so he was laying on his back, arms crossed behind his head as he stared up at the sky above them. He wondered when it would rain, he didn't know when it was. Though, eventually he did need to either convince her to walk back in that form or have her help him hunt something because he was getting hungry.
-
She blushed as his arms wrapped around her. She put her head back against his chest with a happy rumble. Eventually things did start to wind down once more. "That was successful I think" Jay said with a smile.

Her wolf just slept heavily but began to stir at the light sprinkles that started falling on them. Blinking awake she looked at Kain with pure and began wagging her tail

Eric nodded softly “I believe so. We need to speak to Ryan about a tentative date if Kain and Astrid aren’t up to going yet.”

At some point Kain had fallen asleep himself, one arm under his head and the other across his chest, still on his back. He felt sprinkles hit his face and he opened his eyes. He heard the purr and turned his head to Astrid with answering rumble. He smiled at her as he sat up, enjoying the sprinkling rain. "So what would you like to do?" He asked her with a grin, knowing she'd show him.
-
Jaylin nodded "I hope they are, but I'd rather they take their time" She said. Then Jay lead the way over to where Alpha Ryan was standing. "I think that was another successful meeting Alpha."

Astrid stood wagging her tail as her stomach growled but just left him behind and headed into the forest. She padded along clearly trying to hunt

Ryan dipped his head though almost seemed a bit disappointed. He had yet to find his mate and he’d been searching for years and once again nothing. While he didnt want a wolf he had gotten to the point he wanted anyone. He hummed “that works for the pack.”

Eric dipped his head “I suppose we aim for same time in 2 weeks?” He nodded before stepping back to take his leave and calling the clan together

Kain decided to follow her, he watched as she looked around, feet hitting gently on the ground avoiding sticks and other things that might give him away. He could tell she was hunting so he kept himself silent and still, fascinated watching her.
-
Jay could see that Ryan looked disappointed. "Are you okay Alpha?" She asked after they'd discussed the next meeting and Eric had stepped away to call the clan. She knew he didn't a mate, and that must be hard on him especially being in charge of a pack.

Her wolf crept slowly through the forest before seeming to finally catch onto something. Her ears perked up before flattening to her head as her steps became more methodical and a small herd of deer came into view.

-

Ryan hummed “I’m quite alright Jay.. why?” He wouldn’t ever admit his wolf was getting desperate and increasingly temperamental but the glint was there in his eye. Ryan’s wolf being an alpha had always been at the forefront of his mind often having to keep him contained or just exhausted.

Kain stopped moving and crouched the moment he saw she'd caught onto something. He looked further up to see the herd of deer and kept himself in place, watching her intently with a curious gaze.
-
Jay looked at him. Something was up, and she wanted to help, but he didn't seem like he wanted to share. "Just asking. I haven't been around the pack house. That's all" She smiled. She knew better than to ask if one didn't want to let anyone know what was wrong.

Her wolf was creeping along in nearly slow motion, stopping any time the herd would look up on alert before continuing. She was locked on getting surprisingly close before she suddenly lunged. Tackled one in the middle she sank her claws into its hips dragging it to the ground before sinking her fangs into his neck and letting go once it had passed.

-

Ryan hummed “just having to get used to the new dynamics in the hunters and warriors is a pain.” It was a complete lie it was annoying but in truth his wolf was howling for his mate and there was no answer.

Kain watched his mate hunt so eloquently hunt the deer and smiled when she caught one. He stood from his spot, so she knew he was around, stepping up closer, sitting down a few feet from her and the deer.
-
Jaylin nodded, so many things were changing. "I can only imagine" She noted. She couldn't imagine making decisions for an entire pack, and mateless too. As a pack member, she cared about the welfare of all the members even the Alpha.

Her wolf’s ears pinned when he just started walking up so confidently, there was a higher archy to wolves hunting and one who didn’t help couldn’t just come take their full. She seemed content though when he sat down her focus returning to the animal and she tore in. A few minutes later she turned looking at Kain, her tail wagging, a signal he was free to join.

-
Ryan hummed “go enjoy your evening Jay.. It was nice to see you.” He called the pack back together dipping his head to her. He clearly was struggling alone, having had Jay and Astrid run half the pack while they were there and having to do it alone was a struggle now

He'd paused a step when she pinned her ears, but after he'd sat down she had settled again. He let her eat till she was full, and few moments later her tail wagged. He moved forward slowly, grabbing one of the legs and finding the largest artery he could, and sank his fangs in, drinking the blood. It was grassy, similar to the goat blood that he had. He ended up draining the animal dry, retracted his fangs and set the leg down.
-
Jaylin bowed her head in respect. "You as well Alpha. It was nice seeing you" She turned and headed to find Eric and the rest of the clan over near their trail to the castle. She came up beside Eric with a smile, taking his hand in hers.

Her tail wagged as she watched him, having remember they joked about him hunting with her and trying deer blood. Her ears perked curious what he thought of it before returning to the deer and ripping off a few more chunks off to eat. She apparently had been starving as she’d nearly picked the animal clean but was okay laying down grooming herself, her wolf clearly more at ease.

-

Eric took her hand “is everything alright?” He walked beside her having noticed Ryans slight change in behavior

Kain sat back, leaning against a rock. "I have to say, it was pretty good. Which is a good thing because I'm running out of blood in the fridge" He said with a laugh. He watched her pick the deer clean before grooming herself. "Nice hunt and kill by the way" He said, praising his mate, adoration in his eyes.
-
Jay nodded. "Yeah, everything's alright" She said, as they walked towards the castle. Once she was sure they were far enough away, she looked up at him. "I'll tell you in the room, but right now I could use some dinner. Standing there pretending to be the Queen was draining" She said playfully.
