Fantasy Warring Nations Unite

Leonard was glad the moment they got responses from Akitka, though this just made him leaving even harder. He didn’t want to leave, he didn’t want her to get sick again. “After a bit she should be better, once the bacteria works through her system.” He whispered as he watched her.

The doctor nodded his head as he made notes in his file for Akitka. “Is there anything else about the illness?” He asked and Leonard shook his head. “Nothing more, that is all.” He whispered as he sighed.

The doctor made a last not and then closed the file and nodded his head. “She should be fine soon then.” He said as he hoped that was true.

Leonard nodded his head, “atleast that’s half true. She’ll need to rest all day until it gets through her sister.” He shispeeed as leaving his daughter like this was going to be hard.

Levian put a hand on King Leonard's shoulder. "Maybe you can stay for one more week? At least until she gets better."

He knew it was a long call, but he knew Seline wouldn't oppose.

Leonard looked at Levian and shook his head, “I can’t stay any longer. I have a kingdom to get back to and take care of.” He whispered as he sighed a little as he looked at Akitka and watched her closely. “I want to stay, but I need to do these things. She should be back up in the next day or two, with treatment. Those treatments are what help keep her healthy.” He whispered, “it’s sounds stupid, but the treatments work very well.” He whispered as he looked to Levian again, “someone just had to make sure she eats all her breakfast.”

The doctor was kind of walking around trying to figure out what exactly was wrong with the princess, to give him a better understanding and then to establish a treatment that would work better. Another thing was cause, what had caused this sudden illness? “Could stress as well as the new environment cause the treatment to weaken?” He asked curiously.

Leonard looked to the doctor and shrugged his shoulders, “anything is possible in my book. She hasn’t had a flair up since her mother’s death, which was when this treatment was established. It might need to be tweaked. The doctors at home were the ones to even do this treatment when they found it.”

Levian sighed. It was worth a try. "She probably won't like me telling her what to do. Does she not have a good friend back in your kingdom?" Levian said in response to king Leonard's statement

"If not, I can get a maid to help her."

Leonard sighed a little as he shook his head, "kids would walk all over her because she was kind. Didn't care that she was a Princess... she didn't quiet make friends easily so she closes herself off to many people." He said and then thought about Levian's suggestion of one of the maids to keep an eye on her. "There was a maid she was talking to last night, very nice lady. She was kind of older, with blonde hair and darker skin. She was distinguished from the rest of the maids because of her skin color." He admitted as most the maids he had seen were pale white.

He carefully grabbed his daughters hand and sighed a little bit as he looked at her. He most certainly didn't want to leave, but he knew he couldn't stay, knew there was work to be done back in his own kingdom.

Akitka was still somewhat conscious, but she was going in and out. She wrapped her fingers around her fathers hand though as her chest continued to rise and fall quickly, but it was started to slow down. Her skin had also gained a bit more color, but she was still fairly pale.

The doctor was listening to the King as he described the maid, "ahh the new girl, Titania. She is a kind one, you are right though she is a bit older than most of the other maids." He said as he sighed a little bit. "We certainly could have her watch Princess Akitka." He said as it wasn't odd to ask the maids to keep an eye on people.

Levian smiled, glad that their was someone that would be able to help Akitka.

"Well, I'm going to go get breakfast if you guys dont need me here."

Leonard nodded his head, "I'm just going to stay here. I'll leave when I have to, but I would like to spend my last few hours with my daughter." He whispered as he held onto his daughters hand and sighed a little.

The doctor meanwhile was sending one of his assistants to find the maid in question, who should have been up by now. "Later today we will move her to her room." He stated to Leonard knowing that it was better for her to be there, but right now he would keep her here while the room was being arranged.

After breakfast, Levian decided to go and practice his sword fighting. Ever since he met Devin, the prince had regained his old passion for sword fighting. So now every day he would practice it for at least three hours.

Leonard spent his time with Akitka and he was happy when she finally woke up and seemed to be doing a bit better. However, it was time for him to leave, which he was upset about. “I love you Kitty... if you ever need me for anything I am a letter away and will come to you.” He whispered as he looked at her.

Akitka smiled to her father as she kissed his hand, “I know daddy.” She whispered as she looked st him. “I wish I could come outside.” She stated and Leonard shook his head, “oh are ill. Stay here with Tatiana and get some rest. I will send you a letter as soon as I’m back.” He whispered and Akitka nodded her head. “Love you daddy.” She whispered and he smiled, “I love you too my little princess.” He said before getting up from where he had sat for basically about three hours. He was ignoring his hunger as he figured he had food on the road and could eat then.

He soon went to the front of the castle, looked at it one last time and took in a deep breath as he made his way down the steps.

Levian ran to the front of the castle before King Leonard could leave. When he reached it, he put both hands on his knees and stopped to catch his breath.

"I'm (huff) sorry I'm late. (Huff) I almost thought (huff) that you left." The prince explained between breaths.

Strapped to the princes back was a leather bag with a list of the ingredients of the medicine he had made the king. Also Levian had put some of the drink into several canteens which was in the bag.

"I put the herbal drink inside this bag with the ingredients." He said.

"It was an honor hosting you." Levian said as he bowed

Leonard stopped hearing someone behind him and smiled as he looked at Levian and laughed a little bit as he carefully took the bag. “Ahh I should have come to say goodbye to you my boy.” He said as he placed a hand on his shoulder. “Thank you, and make sure Akitka doesn’t do anything stupid. I know it can be daunting, but she is ill right now. Don’t forget about what I said to you, whether you agree or not, ya never know what’s going to change between now and whenever the hell you two start to get to know each other.” He said as he still wanted to keep hope that Levian and Akitka would eventually come to like one another.

He looked into the bag for a moment and smiled happily, “oh and thank that maid for me. I think it’s nice that she will keep an eye on Akitka, certainly not something any of the maids in my kingdom would do. They were afraid of Akitka when she was sick.” He said before looking towards the carriage.

He nodded his head quickly, “I shall hopefully see you two soon. I hope to make many visits here if I can.” He said before he resumed his walk towards the carriage. He put the bag in first and then carefully got in himself. He looked to Levian and waved to him. “Good luck my boy and congratulations!”

Levian waved goodbye to the great King and headed back to the castle. The workout had been quite the stress reliever, the prince had never felt so light on his feet and energetic.

Devin entered the infirmary, firmly grasping a tray of food.

"I brought lunch." Placing the tray on the cabinet, Devin sat on one of the seats next to the bed.

"I was told to make sure you ate, so sorry if this is awkward." He said. The princess sure was beautiful, even when she was sick. He couldn't believe that the prince didn't like her.

Akitka was laying down on the bed right now, but she heard the door open and looked over to it. She looked at the man infront of her for a moment.

“I can feed myself,” She stated as she held her arms out for the tray. She knew that it seemed stupid, but she kind of liked to maintain some independence while she was sick. Most people wanted to be doted on, but not her. Having a maid to spend time with her was rough help for her.

Tatiana looked up for a moment and offered a kind smile to Devin. She then looked to the princess and did the same. “You must take it easy ma’am. You had quiet the episode this morning and we certainly don’t want a repeat.” She stated smiling happily.

Akitka looked to Tatiana and smiled happily as she nodded her head, “I know... believe it or not I’ve tangoed with this for years, since I was a child.” She admitted as she knew what to do.

"I didn't say that I would feed you." Devin retorted with a snort. "I just said I would watch." Tatiana gave the young guard a dirty look, and Devin responded with a small smile at an attempt to look coy.

"You know, I'm here, so I'm sure that your superiors will let you off the hook if you leave." Tatiana murmered. Devin was getting annoying fast.

Akitka chuckled, "sorry people tend to treat me as a delicate little flower when I struggle with illness." She admitted as she shook her head, "I shouldn't have assumed, I'm sorry." She said as she started to eat, taking it slow as to not upset her stomach or anything else.

Akitka probably ate about 1/3 of her food before she pushed it away. She looked to Tatiana and offered a kind smile as she leaned back. she let out a deep breath and sighed. "I think I'm all set for now, thank you for bringing me something to eat." She said as she looked at Devin.

Devin looked at the princess, and gave her a silver of a smile. Did she just apologize or was he hallucinating? From everything Levian had said about her, Devin figured that Princess Akitka was a spoiled crybaby. Instead, here she was apologizing.

"No need to apologize. I was just messin' with ya." The young guard confessed. Although he had been just joking around, Devin couldn't help but see the princess in a new light.

Tatiana pressed her lips together and smiled kindly at Akitka. "You ate way more then you did yesterday. This is a good improvemsnt."

Akitka looked at Devin and smiled softly as she shrugged her shoulders, "another thing I'm not quiet used to." She admitted as she thought about her childhood and then pushed the thought from her head.

She looked to Tatiana smiling a little bit, "the illness effects me in different ways each day. Some days it might be I can't eat for an entire day, others it might be that I have to sleep all day. However the trouble breathing was a new one." She admitted as she sighed a little bit, "I've never had trouble breathing before." She stated as she shook her head, "I need medicine for the rest of the day because of it, they want to keep my airways open and my head elevated, which is beyond annoying because I can't sleep that way." She said before realizing she was rambling a little bit.

She looked to Devin, "sorry... I've never really had anyone other than my father to talk to."

Devin smirked at the girl. "Ya see. Their ya go apologizin' again. What'd I say about that."

Tatiana elbowed Devin in the shoulder, who pretended to howl in pain. "Cut it out, you're not funny." She barked.

Devin backed away from her and stuck his tongue out at her. "Nag nag nag. Are you my mother?"

Tatiana reeled back in mock disgust. "God forbid no... Heavens no.. Why would i want to raise a hairy man child like yourself."

Devin glared at her, but said nothing else. He hated how she always turned his jokes around and pointed them back at him.

Akitka looked at Devin, "it's what I'm good at... apologizing." She stated before everything seemed to go downhill from there.

She looked at Tatiana, "can we please not yell!" She said raising her voice a little as she hated yelling more than anything.

She sighed a little bit, "I think I'm going to rest now if I could be left alone." She said before she laid herself down and pulled the covers up so they covered her shoulder. She rolled on her side so her back was to both of them.

She didn't like yelling because that was all anyone, other than her mother and father, did to her, they yelled at her. Her teachers yelled at her when she got an answer wrong. Her maids yelled at her when she wanted to pick her own outfit for the day. Even the butlers yelled at her when she needed her medicine and she told them.

The fact of the matter was she didn't enjoy when people yelled at or around her.

Devin and Tatiana looked at each other. What did she mean by that? No one was yelling sure. Sure, they were being obnoxious and a tad bit loud, but no one was excessively raising their voice.

Devin put a finger next to his temple and twirled it. "Someones a few cards less of a full deck."

Tatiana hit him. "I'm sorry princess, we'll leave."

Devin rolled his eyes at the princess and left. He couldn't believe that she thought she was different.

Akitka didn't actually fall asleep, just simply laid there on the cot staring at the wall.

The doctor soon returned after visiting with the maid who had gotten sick yesterday and came back into the infirmary. He looked at the princess for a moment and sighed a little bit before going and sitting at his desk.

He kept quiet for the most part, as he usually did in his solitude. He was trying to learn more about the treatment that Akitka was one for her illness, going over the ingredients. He found one that was particularly weird to him and raised an eyebrow.

He took the note with the ingredients and decided he would consult someone else about it.

He quickly left the infirmary and went down first to where all their herbs were for making such treatments. He pulled out all but one ingredient which he couldn't find anywhere. He was becoming frustrated, "where the hell is feverfew?" He asked to himself as he went through the herbs again.

Levian was passing by the kitchen when he heard the doctors mutterings. Feverfew? He thought as he approached the doctor. Oh yeah.

Over on the far corner of the kitchen, Levian pulled out a jar full of herbs.

"Here it is. I kind of messed up the order of everything around here when i was making King Leonard's medicine."

The doctor looked at the prince as he came in and took hold of the jar. "This was on the princesses first day here?" He inquired as he looked at him.

He had to know because he had a theory as to why the princess might have gotten sick, other than just stress and the new environment. If the staff couldn't find all of the medicine then they could have simply substituted and thought it would work.

"Please, I must know," he said as he was running on fumes right now. He had two sick patients, one that was a little more difficult to deal with then the other, and he had to know if the staff was making the treatment properly.

Levian scratched the back of his head as he tried to remember what day it was he fixed the king the drink. The wedding was yesterday, and before then I hadn't seen the King and Akitka for two days. Today is Sunday, so wednesday!

The prince snapped his fingers and answered Wednesday. "I remember because it was two days before the wedding."

The doctor groaned, "which means my staff weren't making the treatment right." He said as he looked at the jar, "who knew one little mistake could do that much damage." He said as he looked at the jar for a moment longer. "I hope you don't mind, but I think I'm going to take this so that there is no more mistake." He said as he would return the bigger jar, but had to make a small jar for himself and his staff.

He sighed a little as he lifted the jar up and looked at it, "they must have not been able to find it like me and thus they tried to substitute. None of my staff knew what this was for, just the ingredients." He said as he looked at the prince and shook his head, "I'm sorry... I'm a rambling old fool. Probably why I got the job honestly." He joked and then sighed a little bit, "poor girl probably has a headache." He admitted as feverfew was made to treat many things, headaches being among those things.
