Fantasy Warring Nations Unite

Levian shook his head. "The reason the princess got really sick.. It was my fault?"

The prince sat down on one of the kitchen stools, and frowned. "If I had only been less lazy."

The doctor looked at Levian and shook his head, "no it wasn't your fault, sir." He said as he looked at the young prince and smiled softly. "My staff should have looked harder and they should have not been lazy. This is not your fault, this is new to all of us. After all, someone with her illness very rarely lives until they're 20s. The fact that she has survived so long is a miracle," he admitted and sighed a little.

"Don't feel responsible for my staffs negligence. When they couldn't find the proper ingredient they should have informed someone instead of filling in the empty slot." He said as it really was his staffs fault, all the nurses who made these treatments and not one of them mentioned to him that there was something missing and they couldn't complete it. "I better get this to the princess though because I have a feeling this will break her fever and help her get better." He said as he wanted to rectify this problem with all due haste. He knew he had to fire someone though because he had three nurses on staff and one of them wasn't doing their job, the only hard part was finding out who had been assigned to make the treatments in the morning.

Levian nodded at the doctors assuring words even though he didn't actually believe them. This whole thing could've been avoided if he had put the jar in its original place. Now someone was sick because of it, and a nurse was about to lose their job.

"Please don't fire anyone." Levian pleaded. "Everyone deserves a second chance."

He couldn't just let the doctor fire someone because of what he did.

The doctor sighed as he looked at Levian, "my prince, you do understand that this negligence could have killed the princess, correct? You were there when her father freaked out because we found her unconscious in the hall. Let's say Sir Devin hadn't found Princess Akitka, she would still be laying in that hall and she would have long since died." He said as he looked at the prince.

He did give thought though, "I will not fire any of them, but I will give them a stern talking to that if they don't report this to me, should this happen again, that they will be fired." He said as he didn't want to fire anyone on his staff either since he was already short staffed as it was.

"I want you to understand too young master, that you will one day be King and these hard decisions will fall upon you one day. That day seems far away, but your and the Princesses coronation is set up for a year and a half from yesterday. You can't let people walk all over you or else they will learn and they will take advantage. I am simply warning you because every action has a consequence." He stated, "I'm also saying this because your father isn't here to say it and I know this is what he would say to you." He said as he was hired on shortly before the King died, but had gotten to know him a bit in the short time he knew him. "Now, if you would like to help me rectify this, you can come with me." He said before he made his way to the door.

He also didn't want Queen Seline to find out about this mix up, finding out about the Princess being sick was one thing, but he knew once she heard it was their mistake she would be after him and he liked his job in the castle.

Levian knew what the doctor was saying was true, but some part of him didn't want to believe that. He didn't want to fire people, because he knew unlike him, people had to work to survive. Pay bills. Put food on the table. He couldn't just fire someone with no remorse. It was something the prince had to work on.

Levian followed the doctor.

The doctor made his way back towards the infirmary, "not a work of this to your mother though." He warned the prince, "she will not be as kind as I am being and very well might fire me and my nurses." He reminded as he offered a kind smile to the young prince.

"Though, I know your not the biggest fan of your mother, like many around here." He admitted as he pushed the doors open to the infirmary and looked to the princess who hadn't moved from her spot.

"Mind making sure she's okay for me while I mix this up for her?" He asked as he had a pot of water going for tea and figured he would give the treatment to her in a cup of tea. "Just use a quiet voice, if she has a headache she might mistake your normal voice for yelling." He said as softly as he could so that the prince could atleast hear him.

Levian nodded at the doctors instructions. It wasn't like he and his mother had the type of relationship where they talked amicably anyway. Although that was true, he couldn't help but feel offended by what the doctor said.

True, Seline was a bad mother, but it wasn't like she abused him or refused his needs. He didn't understand why the doctor was so critical of Seline anyway. She had recently recently passed a bill that gave the hospital more funds.

This was the reason why the infirmary had so many ingredients and the latest medical technology. It was also the reason why the doctor and nurses were paid enough money to continue living comfortably.

The doctor made up the drink for the princess and sighed a little as he made himself a separate cup of tea. He then grabbed the princesses cup and went over to the bedside. He set the tea down carefully, trying not to spill a drop of it. He was giving her enough to try and atleast her her up and walking before tonight.

Akitka heard shuffling and she turned herself to look at the doctor. She noticed the cup in his hand and blinked, “what is that?” She asked curiously as she looked at him.

The doctor smiled a little, “well it’s tea mixed with one of the ingredients to your treatment. We found that the nurses had been mixing your treatment wrong and would explain why you were violently ill.” He explained as he handed her the cup carefully. “I am hoping to treat your symptoms and I made sure that the missing ingredient in your treatment is here in the infirmary.”

Levian followed the doctor to the infirmary, and stopped next to the door. He didn't really want to be around Akitka especially with everything that had happened. The prince couldn't figure out why he felt like that, only that he felt uncomfortable around her. Like something was going to happen any minute and change his life for good.

Levian peeked through the door and saw her. Her red hair was wild and crazy from being in bed, but she looked almost normal except for her slightly paler then usual skin tone and bags under her eyes.

Akitka took the cup from the doctor and put it against her lips and then tilted it back and took a sip of the tea. She pulled it away and sat there on the bed in silence for a moment and sighed a little bit.

The doctor smiled to her carefully, "it's okay to be afraid my dear. This is a new environment for you and we are foreign to you." He said as he could see her worry written all over her face, though he couldn't identify what she was worried about.

Akitka looked to the doctor for a moment and shook her head, "it's not so much that your all foreign to me, it's that... I don't know." She said as she kept a hold of the cup and sighed a little bit. "I guess the new environment does scare me, yes." She admitted as she looked at the doctor, "and the absence of my father. Sure he was away during the war, but once my mother died he was around all the time." She stated and shook her head, "I miss him and he hasn't even been gone that long." She admitted as she kept looking at the cup.

The doctor smiled a little bit, "it's okay to be afraid, as I've already said. This is new to you... at home you knew the people, the maids and butlers. Here you know very few people. It will take time, but you will adjust my dear, now finish up that drink and try to rest. Later today I want to try and get you up and walking." He said as he really did want to get her moving, "tonight you will be able to sleep in your room though, I'm certain of it." He said and noticed her face seemed to sour at that thought, he decided not to press it though.

Akitka didn't even say anything though as she took another sip of the tea. "Thank you," she said as she pulled the empty cup away from her lips and handed it to the doctor. She offered a kind smile, "and thank you for letting me ramble." She stated and the doctor nodded his head, "anytime. If you need someone to talk to I will listen. I am a doctor after all, I'm supposed to help with these kinds of things." He said before walking away from the bedside and putting the cup down in a small sink they had in the infirmary to clean up their supplies and such.

Levian watched the whole interaction with a solemn expression on his face. It wasn't until their conversation finish before he entered the room and took a seat next to the bed.

"Good afternoon." He said to Akitka.

Akitka looked to Levian and sighed a little, "good afternoon." Se said, kind of half-assing it, but still trying to sound nice. She didn't know why she had to be so mean, but right now she kind of saw Levian as the only thing keeping her here.

She didn't express these thoughts though as she was trying to take her fathers advice to be nice, to try and get over it, but of course there was still a part of her that was pissed about the entire situation. "Is there something I can do for you?" She said sounding a bit more snide in that remark than she was trying to sound.

Levian frowned at her sigh, feeling somewhat offended. Even more with her side remark.

"What?" He retorted. "Does my presence offend you. It is my castle after all, aren't I allowed to go where I wish." He couldn't help but be petty after Akitka's sharp comments.

Akitka looked at him and frowned, "I didn't say you couldn't go anywhere in your damn castle!" She yelled, "go wherever the hell you want, what the hell do I care?" She asked as she turned herself away.

The doctor looked at them and sighed a little bit as he stayed out of it. This was something they needed to work out among themselves, not something he could help with. He could be the ears for them to sound off at about the other, but it wasn't his place to interfere in the affairs of their private lives, though he hoped the two of them would come to atleast tolerate the others presence. Maybe though it was too fresh for that to happen, maybe once everything calmed down they would try to get to know one another a bit more.

Levian's face turned red as his sharp blue eyes cut into Akitka. "You're a god damned spoiled baby. I wonder how you'll fare without your father to coddle you through life." He said rather quietly. He wasn't one to yell.

Akitka's face couldn't change much color, but it did get a pink tint to it, "get the hell away from me! I can survive just fine without my father and he never coddled me, he just made sure that I was okay!" She yelled as she wished she could get up and shove Levian, but she knew better than to get up of else she would just hurt herself.

The doctor looked at the two of them and took in a deep breath, "I think you two need some time apart." He said as it had only been a few minutes and they were yelling, "arguing isn't going to bring back your old lives." He said as he remained calm and placed a hand on the princes shoulder. "Come on, let's just walk away." He said as he looked at the prince.

Levian sighed as let himself be led away by the doctor. He didn't know what made him lose control of his temper, he was usually really good at controlling it

The doctor sighed a little bit as he looked at Levian, "don't worry about it. Just try to take everything in it's stride, if you have to ignore her, then do so." He said as he felt bad that he was advising Levian to ignore Akitka, who he really shouldn't ignore, but for now, until this all blew over, they might want to try avoiding one another or atleast limiting their access to one another, which would be hard.

Levian nodded. Ignoring her sounded like a good idea. Because it seemed like everytime they were together, they would start fighting or yelling at each other. Plus Akitka was sick, and Levian didn't want her condition getting worse because of their bad relationship.

The doctor looked at Levian, "and don't think I'm saying ignore her indefinitely, just until you two can kind of talk with cool heads." He said as they would need to try and work this all out eventually, but for now it was best they didn't talk since they always seemed to argue. "Alright, now I am going to go, I will talk to you later." He said as he did need to finish his care for Akitka.

Levian nodded before mumbling a thanks to the doctor. It was stupid of him to visit the girl. He knew she hated him but some part of him thought of her as a younger version of himself. Overly emotionso, extremely dependent on his mother, and unable to accept change.

He thought that Akitka would realize that and they'd end up getting along but it was far from that simple

The doctor nodded his head and waved to the young prince and sighed a little before heading back to the infirmary to continue his care for Akitka. He was surprised to find her sleeping after an argument, but upon inspection he found she had cried herself to sleep, which made him feel a bit bad.

He carefully pulled the covers up to cover her and sighed a little bit, "things will get better princess." He whispered as he rubbed her head carefully and smiled a bit.

The hours following the incident, Levian completely avoided the princess. He was so adamant in ignoring her, he didn't even walk near the same hall as the infirmary. The prince didn't want to take any chances.

Two weeks went by pretty quick and Akitka was starting to feel a bit more at home. She had complained the first few days of sleeping in the same room, let alone the same bed, as Levian. However she seemed to not be getting in as many arguments as she had been previously.

She had also gotten better from her illness after a week. She had basically returned to normal and now the treatments were actually being made properly. That meant that she was actually getting the proper treatment and hadn’t had a flair up in atleast a week.

She woke up in the morning and got herself dressed before heading to breakfast. She had gotten atleast a little more pleasant in the last two weeks, not lashing out as much.

She entered the dining area and sat down in her usual seat, which had become a habit since her second day being alone in the castle. She was quiet, but just because she was still waking up. She took in a deep breath as she looked around for a moment and a nurse brought her the treatment in tea form. She took hold of the cup and started drinking it slowly.

14 day's had come and gone before life in the castle had gotten back to its regular routine. The buzz about Levian and Akitka's marriage had quickly died down. And soon enough the animosity that was once their between them simmered down as well.

Levian had breakfast and enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the castle. For some reason the castle felt empty without Selines presence. The aforementioned monarch had went on a trip that no one knew nothing about. The only reason anyone knew she had left was because she had left a note on her dresser broadly explaining her disappearance.

In the note she had informed she would come back in three weeks, and for the time being Levian would be in charge.
