Fantasy Warring Nations Unite

The kiss was brief but still suprisingly pleasant. When the two broke apart, the crowd erupted in cheers and Levian smiled sheepishly. He saw King Leonard and Seline looking at them from afar, so he gave a slight bow. More so to the king then Seline, who looked like she had been crying.

Several guards approached the newly-weds, and led them past the altar and to the balcony where the whole kingdom waited below. Levian plastered a fake smile, and waved as he had been taught.

~~~
Seline nodded, as she herself stood up. Guards approached the two, as they led them to the same balcony where Levian and Akitka stood.
To the crowd she smiled and announced. "As you all know our kingdom has been at war with our neighbors for years now. Many lives have sadly been lost during this period. Today our kingdoms have set apart our differences and become one, through the matrimony of our prince, Levian Romeus, and now, our beautiful princess Akitka Romeus!!"
The crowd cheered loudly, and Seline motioned for Leonard to come up and speak
Akitka tried to calm herself down on the walk over as she sighed a little bit and ran her non-bleeding hand through her hair. She then placed a hand on her stomach as something didn't feel right and she was becoming increasingly worried that she was becoming ill. She looked to her father briefly before they were rushed away.
She was nervous during the walk over, but she made it to the balcony atleast. She too plastered a fake smile on her face, something she had also been taught to do in stressful situations. She did a small wave, keeping her injured hand hidden and away from her dress as she didn't want to ruin it.
---
Leonard sighed a little as he followed behind everyone out to the balcony, not too surprised by the crowd. After all, the entire Kingdom always loved to see the newly weds right away, hence why they did this.
He stood there listening to Seline and waited patiently, running over what he was going to say in his head while still listening. He looked to Akitka for a moment, thankful she atleast was following her lessons and smiling at everyone. They needed a good impression of their future Queen, and of their King. They were playing the parts splendidly that he almost didn't hear when Seline called him over to speak.
He came infront of everyone and smiled as he looked over the crowd, "hello, many of you do not know me, but I am King Leonard of Rushmandan. I am glad to announce that with this union the war is finally over. we have all paid a heavy price in this war, but now we can all resume our simple lives." He started as he looked over the crowd, "I'm sure I speak for my daughter when I say we are happy to call your Kingdom our allies and I wish Prince Levian and Princess Akitka all the best in their future together." He finished as he looked to Levian and Akitka and smiled softly as he went and hugged his daughter carefully and handed her a cloth to clean her hand and then went and hugged Levian carefully as well.
Levian smiled and returned the hug. He glanced at Akitka who looked uncomfortable, but he wrote it off as her just not wanting to be there. He suddenly felt resentment wash over him towards the girl. She could at least pretend she was happy. He shook his head, and left her side, to greet Devin for the second time that day.
"Congratulations." Devin said, as he approached with a big grin on his face.
Levian smiled and mumbled thanks. He didn't necessarily enjoy what was happening, but everyone was in such good moods it was hard to be sulking.
"I need to find me a wife too, soon. The bachelor life isn't working out." Devin quipped, as he leaned against the balcony fence with a drink in hand.
The prince burst out in laughter, knowing how much his friend hated long term relationships.
"You can barely stay with a girl for a few weeks, what makes you think you can do so for eternity." Levian teased.
The conversation went on like that for a while, Devin cracking jokes, and Levian laughing.
Akitka separated from Levian when Devin came by, figuring that was probably the best thing to do. She found herself a kind of quiet corner and took the cloth her father handed her and started cleaning the blood off her hand. She sighed a little as she looked at her hand for a moment while it continued to bleed.
A maid soon came by and looked to the young princess and noticed the blood. She was carrying some water with her as she approached Akitka and offered a kind smile. "Here hand me your rag," she said as she held her hand out carefully.
Akitka looked to the maid and handed the rag over. The maid poured a bit of water on it and carefully cleaned all the blood off of Akitka's hand. She then smiled softly as she looked at the young girl. "There you go Princess." She said and Akitka nodded her head, "thank you." She said as she looked at her now clean hand where you could see where she had pierced her own skin, but right now it looked fine.
The maid took her leave as she had to tend to the guests at the party, offering drinks and such. She saw Akitka, the young princess, as afraid, not selfish in anyway. She saw a girl in a foreign land married to a foreigner who was afraid because this wasn't familiar to her.
Akitka sighed a little as she stayed in her corner for a moment before standing up, but gripping her stomach the minute she did. "Daddy?" She called as she looked around for her father, but he seemed to be nowhere to be found. Though of course compared to the roars of the other voices hers probably just sounded like a little girl calling for her father that had lost her in a sea of people, barely heard and barely noticeable.
"Daddy?!"
Seline turned her head, it sounded awfully like King Leonards daughter. After a few seconds of scanning the area, she saw a flash of red hair and made her way there.
"Honey." She said in a motherly voice. "Are you ok?"
Akitka took in a deep breath as she tried to calm down, but she didn't have a good feeling about the feeling that had been plaguing her that day. When she saw Seline she just kind of shook her head, "I need my dad." She said as she couldn't let go of her stomach this time. It really hurt and she felt as if she was going to vomit any moment.
Leonard had taken some time to mingle, but he did notice his daughters disappearance from the crowd and became curious. However, he figured she might have taken the moment to try and relax like he instructed. It wasn't until he noticed Seline's disappearance from the crowd that he grew worried.
He pushed his way through the crowd he found himself in, in search for the red hair that he knew belonged to his daughter. She wasn't the typical redhead, her hair was much brighter, almost as if it was literally red like blood. He found it soon and made his way, "what's wrong my darling?" He asked as he looked at her, concern written all over his face.
"Daddy, I don't feel well... I think I'm having a flair up." She said and Leonard looked at her for a moment and calmed down as he shook his head. "Everything is fine my darling, it's just the wedding making you nervous." He whispered and Akitka shook her head as tears formed in her eyes, "dad it's not the wedding!" She protested and Leonard sighed a little, "Akitka, it is. Now I guarantee if you sit down for a little bit everything will be okay." He said as he rubbed her cheek carefully.
Seline looked at Leonard concerned. "You know Leonard, if she says that shes not feeling good we can just postpone this. She doesn't look like shes only nervous."
Leonard looked at Seline and sighed a little, "she has been saying she doesn't feel well all day, but it has gone away. She isn't having a flair up, she's just scared. Seline, I know I sound mean here, but she is fine." He said as he turned back to his daughter and sighed a little. "Take a few deep breaths." He said as he looked at her, "you look beautiful today and this is the only time this has to happen. You will be okay," he said as he was convinced that it wasn't a flair up.
Akitka looked at her dad and did as he said, taking a few deep breaths and releasing them slowly. She decided to drop it and smiled softly, "thank you dad I feel better." She lied as she looked at him, knowing he would probably buy it because he was convinced nothing was wrong.
Leonard nodded his head and sighed a little bit, "alright... see Seline, I told you. She's fine, just nervous." He said as he smiled to his daughter and kissed her head. "You can walk with me if you would like." He said as he would keep an eye on his daughter.
Seline nodded, "just tell me if it gets worst." Truthfully, Seline felt for the girl. Although she hadn't been married to Romeous by force, she couldn't imagine being married to a stranger by force. She felt guilty, but tried to make herself feel better by telling herself it was for a good cause.
~~~
"So, she asked if she could stay the night." Devin started. "And so I said yeah of course, no problem."

Levian raised an eyebrow. "Really?"

Devin grinned cheekily. "Truly!! I told her 'Of course... you can stay the night at your house!!"

Levian broke out in laughter. "You're a messed up human being, you know that right?" He joked between laughs.

Devin smirked. "Tell that to the ladies."

~~~
Soon enough it was getting dark, and people started filing out of the castle one by one.
Akitka and Leonard kind of mingled among the crowd, and they did get their dance together, which made Akitka happy. However, everything was coming to a close for the night and Akitka had found a table to sit at by herself. She held her head between her knees and closed her eyes as she sighed a little bi
The maids were cleaning up, but the one from earlier noticed Akitka sitting alone. "Here dear, you look like you need some water." She said smiling softly as she looked at the young princess.
Akitka looked up to the maid for a moment and then to the glass in her hand and smiled softly as she nodded her head. "Thank you," she whispered as she took the cup and drank the water. She had been dehydrated, but that was always how this started, she would get dehydrated beyond belief and then usually she ended up passing out for a day or two.
Leonard soon came and found his daughter and smiled softly, "looks like you made a friend." He said and smiled to the maid, "Akitka, it's time to go though, you've had a busy day and you are probably exhausted." He said as he looked at her.
Akitka smiled as she looked at her dad and nodded her head, "yes." She admitted as she was starting to get that drained feeling, the feeling of being tired. Leonard nodded his head and smiled softly, "well you will be moved... they haven't set the room up yet, but tomorrow you will be sleeping in the same room as Levian." He mentioned and Akitka sighed a little and nodded her head. "I understand," she whispered as she got up from her seat and grabbed her fathers hand.
The day had dwindled away, and finally it was time to sleep. Today, would be the last day that Levian would have his own room. He sighed sadly as he took a look at his current room. It wasn't necessarily big, but he liked that way. The room was filled with book cases, and had a little fireplace that gave it a cozy feel.
He would miss the room.
Akitka got to her room safely and some maids helped her out of her wedding dress. She sighed as she brushed her hair carefully as she looked at herself in the mirror. She pulled on her hair a little bit and sighed a little bit. Before going to sleep she requested that the maids leave some water for her. She settled herself in for the night and after having a glass or two of water she fell asleep.
Leonard got to his room and sighed as he sat down in a chair and looked around. "My friend, I wish you were here man... I wish Katrina were here too. You two kept me sane," he said to himself as he sighed and leaned back in his seat and drank some water. "If you could see Akitka now... Katrina you would have loved her. She's beautiful, like you, though your right she ended up with my damn attitude." He said chuckling a little bit as he shook his head, "Romeus... watch over her please. She's going to have a lot of adjusting to and I know that she's going to isolate herself if she is allowed. I miss you man, I really do." He said as he started to doze off in his seat, bringing his night to a close.
The morning started later then usual, due to the wedding. Everyone was either sleeping in, or too hungover to wake up. Levian however awoke with the sun, heading to the kitchen for breakfast. He was suddenly really hungry
Leonard awoke in the morning and groaned a little as he stretched and sighed a little bit. He got himself dressed for the day and then packed up his remaining items. He made sure that everything was taken from the room before heading down to the dining area to have himself a small breakfast. He sighed a little as he rubbed the back of his head and entered the dining area. "Good morning," he muttered still kind of tired as he didn't sleep well in the chair. He looked around and noticed Akitka was missing and shook his head. He knew she might be reluctant to come down this morning. She probably couldn't face him since he was leaving today.
Akitka was awake in her room breathing heavily as she sat infront of her mirror. She looked at herself for a moment and groaned, "shit." She said as she grabbed her make-up from her bag and started putting it on. She was trying to hide the fact that she was growing ill as she wanted to say goodbye to her father today. She moved herself along and got dressed and then opened the door to her room. She was surprised at how empty the halls were as she started to make her way towards breakfast.
Levian muttered a good morning back as he sipped on some cider. The cooks were still in the middle of cooking breakfast, so the smell of cinnamon and meat made the princes mouth water.
Leonard looked to Levian and smiled softly, trying to be nice his last hour here. He could smell breakfast, but it was nothing unusual as he loved the smell of breakfast in the morning. "How are you this morning my boy?" He asked as he got handed a glass of water which he started drinking carefully, just trying to have some light conversation while they waited for their meal.
He was quiet curious where Seline was though, and Akitka, it wasn't like her to not arrive for breakfast on time, even if this was a bit early. She was always early to meals at home, but was she really that stubborn right now?
Akitka made it a bit down her hall, not very far from her room before collapsing onto the floor. She placed a hand on her chest as she breathed heavily and tears formed in her eyes. She hadn't been this sick in years, since her mothers death pretty much. She tried to push herself up, but she couldn't and she was cursing that no one was near. She weakly reached her hand up to the nearby wall and tried hitting it to get someones attention before she passed out.
She hit it maybe once successfully before unconsciousness took her as her cheeks turned bright red and her breathing got very rapid. Her face was scrunched in pain, not relaxed as it would normally be as she slept.
Levian put the cup to his face, and swirled it around enjoying how the cider looked as it shook around in the glass.
"I'm fine, and you?" He replied briefly. He wasn't much of a morning person, but he tried to be as conversational as he could.
"Its your last day." He said matter-of-factly. It felt like the King had been there forever, and Levian hated seeing him leave.
"Where's Akitka?" He questioned. He had guessed the princess would be awake so she could spend the precious few hours she had left with her father.
~~~

Devin woke up in the wee bits of the morning, wedding or not he still had a job to do. Slipping on his uniform, he hurried out to do his usual rounds around the castle so he could get some breakfast early. The castle was eerily quiet, so Devin decided he could probably walk a block or two and go get breakfast.

Just as he was about to call it quits, he heard rough breathing. He rounded the corner to inspect, and was shocked to see the princess collapsed on the ground.

"Your majesty?" He asked quickly. "Hello?"

Leonard smiled a little bit as he looked at Levian and shrugged his shoulders a little bit. "I'm okay, kind of melancholy if I'm being honest." He admitted as he leaned back in his chair.

He remembered a time when he wasn't a morning person, though it was many years ago. By the time he married and such he had become more and more of a morning person because a majority of the duties he had as King were to be done early in the morning, sometimes before he even ate breakfast.

He acknowledged the comment about it being his last day and sighed a little, "yes I had the maids bring my items down to the carriage." He admitted as he figured small talk was good.

Soon came the question that had been burning in his head, where his daughter was. "It is unlike her to be late to breakfast. She has to take a medicine in the morning to help with her immune system, so she knows not to miss it." He said as he was growing increasingly concerned about the fact that his daughter had yet to be seen.

Akitka was non-responsive as her breathing remained rapid. Her chest quickly rising and falling. She was sweating as well and the make-up she had put on slowly came off in beads of sweat revealing a fairly pale face underneath it all.

She couldn't even move due to illness, which was possibly caused by the stress of the last few days and the new environment.

Levian nodded, bringing the cup down with a thud. "Maybe she overslept? Yesterday was a pretty big day, she's probably just really tired." He reassured.

Yesterday had really taken a toll on him, both mentally and physically. The hunger was the only thing that woke him up so early.

~~~
Devin's eyes widened in fear and worry. What was going on?
"Nurse!!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. "Help!!! The princess... Somethings wrong with her!!!"
No one responded, and rightfully so. This was a part of the castle that no one really went through. Coupled in with everyone in deep slumber, and this being a low-key area no one would be able to hear his screams.
Devin sighed. What to do? He could go run and try to find some help, but then anything could happened to the princess while his gone. Or, he could stay and shout until someone wakes up and decides to investigate.
Even though both solutions were lose-lose, the aforementioned seemed the safer choice.
Leonard sighed a little bit, "I doubt it... she's been on this treatment since her mothers death, basically gets up on time no matter what. she was up one night until late into the evening and still got up in the morning." He said as he was becoming anxious.
"Maybe I should go find her... I know where her room is temporarily." He said as he pushed himself up as he was starting to get a feeling of dread.
---
The doctor had been sleeping down the next corridor, when he heard screaming. He at first shoved it off as someone still being hung over and ignored it, but soon he opened his eyes and looked to the window and realized the time.
He was supposed to be up an hour ago to check on one of the maids who had fallen ill early yesterday. Maybe it was someone screaming because the maid came to find him and had passed out.
He quickly got himself dressed and ran out of the room and into the corridor and paused at the scene infront of him. "What is going on here?!" He asked as he ran down the hall only to recognize the form of Princess Akitka.
He paused for a moment before springing into action, "has she been to breakfast yet?" He asked as he took her pulse, which was weak and thready. "Get her to the infirmary... I'll go get her father." He said as he looked at Devin and pointed towards the infirmary. "If anything changes, if she stops breathing start pushing on her chest, 30 compression's, and then breath into her mouth twice." He said before running off as he still hadn't learned about his new patient, just that she had suffered from common illnesses as a child.
Levian eyes widened, suddenly his appetite had vanished and he no longer felt hungry.
"I'll come with you." He said hurriedly, rising from his seat
~~~

Ten minutes or so had passed, before a doctor had arrived. Luckily, Akitkas condition didn't worsen during that span. Devin felt queasy at the Doctors instructions. There was so many ways he could fuck up. How about if he miscounted the compressions? Or if he breathed four times in her mouth instead of two?

Nonetheless Devin lifted the princess from the ground and started on the way to infirmary

Leonard nodded his head as he started to depart the room only to run into the doctor who had been coming to get him. He stared the man down, "where is she?!" He yelled losing his temper at the fact that he had possibly done this to his daughter, remembering her pleas yesterday that she didn't feel right.

The doctor wasn't startled at all at the fact that the king yelled at him, after all his daughter was important to him and he had messed up in not knowing anything about his new patient. "Princess Akitka, she collapsed in the hallway, I think she was on her way to breakfast. One of the guards found her, her pulse is thready and weak, her breathing rapid and her face pale as a ghost, but cheeks red as roses." He said as he looked at the King hoping he knew what was going on.

Leonard looked at the doctor, "I don't care, where is she?!" He yelled once more and the doctor did actually cower this time. "Sh-she's on her way to the infirmary... I don't know anything about her condition and figured you did." He said and that was what pushed Leonard over the edge. He lifted the man off the ground, "take me to my daughter." He said threw clenched teeth as he set the man down.

The doctor seemed fearful of the king, of what he could do to him, but he none the less guided him towards the infirmary with due haste.

Akitka made it to the infirmary, her breathing still rapid as she laid there almost lifeless it would seem to the untrained eye.

Devin sat next to the medical bed, worry and concern written all over his face.

The princess was bony white now, so pale that he could see and count all the veins on her skin.

He prayed for the doctor and the king to arrive.

Every second that passed felt like time taken out of Princess Akitka's life.

At one point the princess laid deadly still, her chest not beating and her pulse frozen. Devin went into panic mode for a moment before remembering the doctors instructions.

The guard quickly went to work, quickly flipping through the 30 compressions. Everything was crystal clear.

Akitka started to stir a lot, but Devin knew his job was not over. Caressing the princesses ice cold cheek, he blew to puffs of air into her mouth.

As soon as he pulled away the princess jolted back and Devin smiled in relief.

~~~
Levian had never seen King Leonard that angry, not even two nights ago when he got into a fight with Seline. Something was terribly wrong. Just then remembered his last time seeing the princess last night. The look on her face.
Levian had written it off as the princess being a bad sport and immature, but she had actually been ill.
"Its my fault." He whispered. No one heard him, but it didn't matter. He knew. Whatever ended up happening to the princess it was his fault.
The doctor made haste in getting to the infirmary. As he pushed the door open he heard the king rush by him. He had to figure out what exactly was wrong with her, why she got so ill.
Leonard went to his daughter and rubbed her cheek, “no Kitty, you can’t go anywhere.” He whispered as he looked at her. “She needs the blanket over her and for there to be heat under the blankets. She gets cold and everything because her blood is trying to go to her vital organs.” He said as he rubbed his daughters cheek.
The doctor nodded his head as he got a blanket and put it over the princess and then got a fire going so he could use the heat from it to burn some wood and put it in the bed warmer. “Your sure this works?” He asked, though he had no doubt about it.
Leonard nodded his head, “she’s been sick since birth. We didn’t discover this until she was about 7.” He whispered as he rubbed his daughters head carefully. “God this is my fault... she expressed to me yesterday that she was feeling ill. I thought it was just the wedding and told her everything was okay.” He said as he felt bad.
Akitka kept breathing heavily, but she seemed to be looking a little bit better. Leonard was thankful for that as he watched the doctor put together the bed warmer and carefully stick it under the blankets.
The doctor sighed as he went to his desk and pulled out the treatment that the king had said should only be used in emergencies. He pulled out a vile and then a syringe and put some of the liquid from the vile into the syringe. He then went over to Akitka and took hold of her arm and carefully injected it.
Leonard sighed a little bit as he watched Akitka and rubbed her head carefully. He felt guilty for ignoring his daughters pleas. She had told him she was unwell and he just passed it off as anything but a flair up. “I’m sorry darling... if there’s ever a next time I’ll believe you, I promise.” He whispered as he looked at her.
Akitka seemed to come to somewhat as she let out a grunt and then a cough. Leonard helped her to her side as she coughed up some junk from her throat. “I love you daddy,” She whispered weakly as she kept her eyes clothes.
Leonard smiled softly to his daughter. “I love you too darling.” He whispered back as he wanted her to relax. “She’ll need a lot of water. The illness dehydrated her... she’ll need more than the recommended daily.” He admitted as he knew so much about his daughters illness.
The two boys watched speechlessly as King Leonard and the doctor got to work. Everything was in slow motion. Every breath, every blink, everything.
Some part of Levian felt saddened by what was happening. Even if the two ever got past all their differences, he would still have to worry about her illness.
