I've been planning on getting our Sid-bros to send us sympathetic martial art masters to set up dojos in Gynnin, may as well go on an Uncle Sam recruiting drive for outcasts dbs while were at it.

Annika could send her thieves out to surrounding settlements to look for the Dragon-bloods.

There is the older Dragon-Blood, Apple. She is well respected in the town, but would have to be convinced to step forward.

I kinda feel like we should be having this discussion with our characters, as they're all sat around a large table in a war room within the King's Tower, or the temple, or wherever we're using as Gwynnin's center of government.

That's not a request or anything, don't worry. ;)

Aysik sends word that he is due to arrive in Gwynnin soon, along with his apprentice, Dunbar. They are planning on giving a 'wonderful' wedding gift, but are not saying what it is. They plan on being in town the day before the wedding.
I read this in the IC thread, and all I could think was "Always two, there are. A master, and an apprentice."

Now you've added ominous connotations that I overlooked before. D=

If we get an Aysik turned Walder Frey he will be very disappointed when perfect defenses get blown. This is highly unlikely though by my estimation.

Or he could be straight-up lying, and actually be part of the Bronze faction. It actually kind makes sense, in a horrific history repeats itself way.

1) You assemble a group of Solars who are relatively powerless without your aid against an alleged threat
2) Earn their trust and push them towards a fate you've foreseen wherein they create a fledgling empire
3) Support them and their empire so that it seems to be flourishing
4) Draw in boatload of Solars and other Celestial/Terrestrial allies to their banner, so that you've got all the Solar sympathizers together
5) Assemble a giant feast in their honor...

Figured I ought to narrate the training process at least once. Hope it didn't come across as too obnoxious.

My character has all his stats and just needs his backstory finished up. How do you want me to post it?
Go ahead and drop him into the Characters thread down at the bottom. I'll check it out once you have that done.

A couple of things. I see you have four dots in Specialties on Melee. The most any Ability can have is three. Also, you can go ahead and pick out your Artifacts and Hearthstones to have on your character. I may have more comments as I keep examining your sheet, but other than that, I didn't see any problems.

LowRollLyfe LowRollLyfe Here is how we are going to be introducing you. At the moment, you and your mercenary band are escorting a merchant caravan to the town of Gwynnin where you have heard that the local Lord and Lady of the town are looking for good swords. I'll put up an IC post for you shortly.

I actually quite enjoyed it! I'm glad you had the opportunity to type up a small narrative scene. :)
I've not had the opportunity to cut loose like that in a while. I always sweat the inevitable typo's and brain derps (my family is legendary for such things) that come with longer posts like that, so I've tended to avoid them to train focus.

By the way, MasterDAF MasterDAF , I've been considering making another cheatsheet for 3E at some point, so let me know if you find that resource helpful and whatnot.

I actually only saw the artifact portion (first tab) when I last looked at it, looking again this morning I spied the manse portion and quick reference section. I'd definitely say its a useful excel sheet for quick number plug-and-pop answers. And the references save a lot of time that would otherwise be spent scouring the PDFs for answers.

The goal was to compile all the moving parts from 2 different books into one set of references. By the time the references were pulled in, getting it to do the heavy lifting of figuring out dice pools and craft times was no big deal.

Sherwood Sherwood Earlier in the IC worship at the Temple to the Unconquered Sun, you posted this:
The ceremony in the remodeled temple to the Sun is well attended
I was wondering if I could use my next crafting roll time-slot [though I wouldn't actually roll] on the remodeling of the temple? It would take place roughly a month and a half prior to our current IC chat, based on its order in my crafting log, and I think that would fit with the consistent slow changing of the city's faith that Darian was overseeing.

I'm not looking to stat it out or anything like that [hence no roll], but since it was remodeled and Viktor is the foremost craftsman in the area, I'm assuming he probably played a role in the reconstruction/adjustments. It would also give me an RP excuse to purchase a single point in Craft(Earth), by treating the remodel as training the skill.

As much as I like the short term benefit of stealing a Lookshy ship, this could be a huge thorn in our side when it comes to negotiating annexation into the Empire with them. Though, I suspect the whole we wanna wait for the non existant heir to the shogun to appear thing to be a bigger issue...

Still, I think bringing them into the fold should be a fairly early play on our part. We just need good leverage. And while having technology superiority could be our deal maker, I am curious as to what you all think.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting stealing a Lookshyan ship. I could definitely see that going poorly very fast, haha! I just used the Lookshy background example as a way to introduce the idea that Viktor has seen other less cohesive nations/city-states might also have some implosion bows in different states of repair. Thus, we could spend time watching for a less defended ship from a "relatively no-body" city-state to sail by and ring the dinner bell.

I'm not so sure that will be an easy find, but its less likely to cause a stink with our major neighbors.

All this has got me thinking, and I see a need to do more research for how to plan for expansion in a way that appeals to our terrestrial brethren. I've also got some ideas to correct the title structure that was throwin me off earlier. I'll let y'all know when I have that update in the document. Note that some guilds have already been added.

I thoroughly agree with you, I imagine if we pursue such action it will be difficult at best to ascertain the location of such a target. That being said, for something that will be used so directly for mechanical benefit, and already exists in the world (unlike custom artifacts like the rings), I'd rather go through at least somewhat more concrete steps to acquire them. Plus, while it could take a little longer this way, the act of getting one to reverse-engineer will eventually make it easier for me to mass produce them on a limited scale. And Viktor doesn't actually have any points in magitech, so it'll provide time IC to change that.

Also, I reviewed the Empire Doc, I like the inclusion of Guilds and the notes on Celestial Daimyos/Terrestrial Prefects. Its looking good!!
