I just look for a yellow spot on the bottom and roll with it. Though I only really eat watermelons in summer.

The more yellow the bottom the better. Also, knock on them because the ones that sound more hollow are worse melons.
Also, ditto. I like to liquify my melons, add sugar, and freeze it into popsicles :3
