Realistic or Modern Thrown Together

"Well I've had a good few interviews for my, 'controversial' works, as well as my other books. I've met some important people in my time as well." He boasted, an obvious tone of pride in his voice. "It's certainly more fun than med school, I'll tell you that. You know how many parties I've had in one week? I left one to go straight to the next."

Sam

"Oh well, I actually brought some with me, which are in my room in a folder. But most of them are currently lying at home. But hey, if you want to have a look at them, I can show you those I have here.", Sam said pointing with his thumb behind him. "My room isn't too far from here."

Jesse

Jesse had been eating her sandwich as the other two talked. She nodded as she heard his love gone wrong explanation.

"Love never works out." She muttered.

She turned to put away all the stuff she had gotten out. She glanced back.

"So who still needs to get their stuff from home?"

@Vices and Virtues @IronManatee

Jack

Jack smiled just a little.

"No. I don't have an issue with it. What caused the career choice?" He started walking with her down the hallway.

@Ariettie

Jason

Jason shrugged, "I'm just looking for any controls near by and any dangerous areas. Might as well know if my services will be needed."

"Not me, actually," replied Karina to Jesse's inquiry, "I got it before I wandered to the kitchen. I don't live too far." She twirled a strand of hair around her finger and stared off at nothing as she spoke.

Thinking about her past love never made her feel...
great, hence the staring into space. Forgive me if I suck right now, she thought semi-sarcastically.

Helena nodded. Some minutes passed, while both of them remained silent. She felt irritated by the silence, and so decided to break it.

"So... Why are you still here? What do you plan on doing with the money?", she asked straight forward, her voice sounding ever so monotone. She faced into a different direction, her eyes closed, while listening to the leaves, rustling in the faint wind.

@SweetCat2319

Brandon

Brandon shrugged. "I guess you've got that going for you. As for the parties, I've never been a real fan of parties, so I think I'm good." He paused for a moment before continuing to speak. "So, what are you writing there? Another one of your stories?"

Maria Elaina

Maria walked with Jack and said, "Dios mío, where do I start?" She tucked some of her hair behind her ear, and said, "Well, I dropped out of high school, and got married when I was 15, so I could move out of my parent's car... Then my husband turned into an abusive carbón (dumbass), so I left... Got a divorce... Lost what little I had... Met my 'Player In a Management Position,' and started making enough money to survive..."

Darren looked up with an irritated expression on his face. "Look, Brandon Lambert. I understand you're trying to make friendly conversation and I respect that, but Louis knew what he was doing to me by making me come here and do this, so that's pissed me off. I have a deadline for this story, and that's pissed me off. You are not reversing the previous problems, and are instead becoming my third problem. Please, get out." He said, angrily. He hadn't intentionally snapped, but there was too many confusing things that had happened that day to allow a healthy mindset after.

Brandon

Brandon lifted both his hands up, as if he was being arrested. "Damn, I guess I'm sorry.", he said, slowly backing out of the room. "See you around sometimes, and good luck with that... book?", he added, before finally leaving Darren's room, into the hallway. He finally moved back to his room, like he had planned before, leaving his door open.

Jesse

Jesse nodded and shrugged.

"I still have to get my things so I'll probably call a cab again."

She finished cleaning up and looked over at Alex. "What about you?"

@IronManatee @Vices and Virtues

Jason

"I'll go to med school debt free. That's a dream come true."

He found the controls and messed with them some. The jets came on in the hot tub.

"Well you can't set the currents in the pool. But everything else is changable. And no cracks in the cement. Meaning he slipped because it was slippery. We'll have to be careful."

@Capricornus

Jack

"That's quite a story. You had to live in a car?" He shook his head. " I've done that on and off before." He admitted.

He avoided the topic of abuse, his fist clenching at the thought. He hated abuse and didn't want to get truly angry in front of Maria.

Maria Elaina

Maria shrugged and said, "I've lived everywhere..." This was probably the understatement of the century, but it was the best way she could describe it. "I usually stay with my clients for the night, but other then that I don't really 'live' anywhere. That was how I met Louis in the first place. He let me stay here one night during a storm... Not that he was a customer or anything... He was just a nice man who showed me some genuine kindness..." Maria sighed in a small mourning for the man. She may not have known him well, but it was obvious to her that men like Louis were few and far between. She mourned more for the world in general then Louis, as the world had truly lost a good man.

Helena

"Med school? So you're planning on being a doctor in your future life? Not bad.", she replied.

"So he slipped?", she asked after some time, as she opened he eyes and turned to Jason. "You mean Louis, right?" She bit her lip, feeling slightly uncomfortable talking about it. "W-was that the cause of his death?"

@SweetCat2319

Jack

"Really? I thought as an escort you'd make enough money for an apartment."

Jack glanced over at her, hoping the topic wasn't all that intrusive. He was just curious. He'd met a few escorts before in his job but they'd been clients. He couldn't ask them stuff like this.

@Ariettie

Jason

"No. He was dying long before that. Cancer. He just got hospitalized for falling. I just wanted to see if there was anything particularly dangerous out here that caused it. Hopefully I don't have to treat anyone while I'm here. I get that enough on call. And while the doctor part is nice, I want to be a trauma surgeon so I can go into the Army as a combat medic. But with no student loans I could just go private."

@Capricornus

Maria Elaina

Maria snorted a small bit of laughter, and said, "I'd rather have food then a place of my own! I barely make enough to live on as it is... I may get a meal out of a client, but for the most part, that's where my money goes... Occasionally I get lucky and make enough for a motel room, but they have to serve breakfast, or I'm out a meal..."
