Fantasy Through The Portal

Leoch shifted uncomfortably when the yellow flower appeared. True, in elven culture earth and plant elementals were practically hailed as angels, but for a human to have such an ability made most feel a bit awkward. Indeed, the elders seemed to be surprised. Leoch held his breath, not knowing what would happen. To his relief, however, the elder simply bowed respectfully. "You have a wonderful gift, child," he said warmly. "Take care to use it well." Then turning to the Holy Swordsman, he went back to more pressing concerns. "Yes, we have heard of these creatures as well," he sighed. Leoch tried to hide a smirk. He wasn't surprised that the elders were withholding information from the group; he had seen it all the time in the Capital. "From what we can tell, they are very dangerous," the elder continued. "Be on your guard. However, I can not wholly condone bringing the group to a human city. For the time being, this is an elf matter, you understand."

"Begging your pardon, milord," Leoch interjected, "but you have no doubt heard of my diplomatic record. I could be a mediator to the humans, and report back to you." Finding information about the creatures wasn't the only reason Leoch was volunteering for this. Ambassadors of any kind could easily become very powerful in elven society, due to the lack of communication most elves had with other races; a harsh rumor from an ambassador could ruin an elf's standing with another kingdom for centuries. The elder probably knew this, of course, but they didn't bring it up.

"An intriguing offer, Leoch," one of the elders said, failing to pronounce his name correctly, "but we have also heard that your last few political actions were met with a..." The elder paused, remembering the presence of the humans. "...dishonorable demotion," he finished, speaking the words in elvish.

Leoch grit his teeth. "Indeed," he said hastily, attempting to recover his status. "And thus you also know that I am not loyal to a political boss, but only you three and the High Elders."

The elders seemed to muse over this comment, before one finally spoke. "Very well," he said, a bit tiredly. "You will accompany the humans--or half-humans--to Yuushima. Leave as soon as you are ready."

Leoch bowed lowly. "Thank you for your time, great masters," he said in his native tongue. Motioning for the rest of the group to follow, he exited the hut.

Ooc: sorry guys I've been at work.

After hearing the mission Randeruck has a bit of a skip to his step, he was excited. "An adventure, this is gonna be fun" he thinks to himself. He turns to bloom and azalea walking backwards and ask "are you guys as excited as me for this adventure?" He asks with the biggest grin on his face. @Miss Mack @Shadowflight13

Shin rubbed his scar as he run up to Bliss. "H-h-hey um so well I uh wonder how things will turn out for all of us later."

Bliss glanced at the nervous boy and nodded. Honestly, she had no idea what he just said, but him talking had helped her take her mind off her new powers, making the daisies slowly stop growing for a moment then resuming after Shin was done talking. She bit her lip and nodded once again in his direction, taking a deep breath.

Shin chuckled when he noticed the flowers grew when he stopped talking. "Guess we both are a bit nervous hahaha." Shin then chuckled again that was th3 first time he laughed around a girl.

Bliss gave him a small smile before nodding. "Nerves are all I have now." She said softly, almost to herself. Quickly shaking that thought away, Bliss looked at Shin and then closed her eyes, taking deep breaths, slowing down the growth of the daisies.

Shin looked at the ground. "Wish I could help but I'm not good at anything but fighting sorry." Then Shin got an idea. "Hey maybe that's it if your scared you can rest easy because your friends with Shin Fuka the Bloody Knuckles."

The daisies stopped growing all together as the short girl opened her eyes and looked at Shin, a bit confused. "I thought... You didn't really 'like' girls." Bliss said simply, brushing her hair behind her ear and glancing around at the other elves present.

"I hope I'm not scary period." Bliss said simply, bending down and picking a small daisy. She extended her arm, offering Shin the daisy as a sign of peace and kindness.

Shin hesitate to make contact with her moved slowly. "T-thanks." He closed his eyes as he reached for the flower taking it then opening his eyes as he took it. He took a deep breath and took it his hand brushing hers he tensed up for a moment but looking at her he relaxed. Looking at the flower he chuckled. "Yeah not scary at all."

Bliss looked at him, her green eyes large and curious. "You're welcome." She said softly, glancing at Azalea then focusing back on Shin. "No need to be afraid of somebody who wishes good." Bliss said this gently, pulling her hand away from him and back to her side. She knew that he would still be scared of her for quite sometime, but that was better than absolute terror.

Azalea smiled slightly at Randeruck. "I think it'll be great." She followed Kenshi out. "I just want to get out of here so I can start testing my abilities! Will I be able to without provoking anyone, where we're going?" Her fingers tingled and she flexed them, more eager than ever to produce the blue flames again. It felt like there was a flame pulsing in her chest, warming her body from her fingers to her toes, just waiting to burst out at her command.

Shin punched the air a few times the force caused some wind to be blown. "Yeah I can't wait to let loose and hit something full force!"

"Careful, humans," Leoch said coldly. "A unsheathed sword can be worse to its wearer than an empty scabbard. You must learn to control your powers, before I am forced to do so for you." He tapped the hilt of his blade purposefully. As Leoch had been taught, humans were notoriously emotional, and often got a power high after receiving any sort of blessing. If it came to it, the elf would not hesitate to incapacitate one of them. "We will receive our supplies at the gate," Leoch notified. "Food, extra clothing, flint and steel. I could secure a mount for myself and Kenshi, but the rest of you would have to walk. Personally, I prefer to be on the ground, but if the swordsman wishes to ride, I can arrange for it."

Azalea placed her hands on her hips, pursing her lips into a hard line and narrowing her eyes. "How, exactly, are we supposed to learn how to control out abilities if you, Mr. High-and-Mighty, are threatening us if we even try it? Explain that to me, why don't you?" Her tone was just as cold as Leoch's was. She was tempted to refuse to go anywhere with the elf, because if he was going to continue to treat herself and the others this way, she wasn't sure how long it would be before she snapped and picked a fight she'd likely lose. But no, for now it would be better to stay. So she contnued to glare at him in stony silence instead, hands clenched into fists at her sides in an attempt to stop the warm tingling spreading down her fingers. The last thing she wanted was to lose control, which was much harder now that she was angry.

"Actually I'm walking, if the others are walking. I also require no extra supplies Yuushima shouldn't be too far away. Relax elf no need to be on power patrol, I am fully equipped to deal with any wrong turnings. No need to try and play they the bad guy. Unless this is how you really want come off as." Kenshi said as he walked through to the gates followed by the others. "Though food and water are always nice." He said. Then he saw two elves bringing out a set of travel sacks one for each member of the party. Kenshi picked one up and nodded to the elves who then walked off to attend other business.

Bliss picked up two bags and brought one over to Azalea, looking at the other girl before lightly tapping her shoulder. She held up the bag to her, her eyes saying for Azalea to take it. "Just go along with what the elves say for now. It's safer that way." Bliss said softly, looking down at Azalea's feet as a small cluster of azaleas grew. She then looked back up at her and bit her lip gently, standing there awkwardly holding up a pack.

Leoch continued to stare Azalea down. "Do not forget that you are only here due to the hospitality of the elves, human," he growled. "And if you came out of one of those portals, then you must be far away from home. If you wish to return, you'd best watch your tone." He took a survival pack from one of the elves, nodding in thanks. "What you see as being a 'bad guy', Kenshi, is simply my being prudent. How would you feel if a powerful, unstable elf wandered into your home city with no knowledge of its culture or laws?"

Randeruck looked at Azalea with question on her new powers. "Training is actually quite easy, just understand that those powers belong to you and no one else controls how they work. The powers do your bidding and are at your command, show them you are in control and they will listen" @Shadowflight13

"I personally wouldn't confront them in a way you have just now. You would only be further making them unstable by angering them. You have to supportive and aggressive or you're just being counter productive." Kenshi replied as the group walked out of the gates of the outpost and Ken now leading the way to Yuushima. "Yuushima's is a mash of many different cultures considering the heroes come from all over. Haven't you been there before?"

Leoch chuckled. "With all due respect, Kenshi, you're a holy swordsman. Things work a little differently out here in elf territory. If you want to train them, that's fine. But until then, it's best that they know their place, and if using fear as a weapon is the best way to do that, then that's the option I'm going to take." It wasn't the first time Leoch had given this speech; in the Capital, he often had to use intimidation techniques to force corrupt officials to back down. After all, they certainly weren't going to stop taking bribes just because Leoch was being "supportive". "I've been there once," the elf sighed. "Let's just say I didn't have a good time."

"If you refuse to try and play nice, then I won't stop them if they decide to how should I say conquer their fear." Kenshi replied with a tone of finality. Kenshi felt the elf wouldn't be able to deal with the others if they decided to truly test his threats, he was almost sure that the elf would lose against them. Then Kenshi began to sense something dark and not right in the area. He didn't want to raise alarm yet because the foes may just pass by they're not immediately close yet.

Shin took a pack and nodded in thanks then looked to Leoch. "Something you should know where I'm from those who ruled with fear well not doing so well right now." As he said that he slowly glided his index finger across his neck.
