Fantasy Through The Portal

Bliss nodded at Azalea's words then set the cherry blossoms on the ground. She glanced at Randeruck who previously asked for her name. She bit her lip and then sighed, deciding that she should just get home and back somewhere safe. Bliss ran her fingers through her hair nervously and took a deep, shaky breath as she looked around, observing the beautiful scenery. It confused her as to why somebody would want to hurt or destroy it. Especially the trees which were the heart and soul of the forest.

Leoch looked over the little group, scanning for any signs of deception or malice. When the boy with the scythe pulled out a small rectangular box, the elf reached for his sword, but quickly realized that it wasn't a threat. "You, and you," he said, pointing to Shin and Azalea, "stay close and keep your hands out of your pockets. No sudden movements." He still wasn't sure whether to trust anyone, and he definitely couldn't fight all of them. "Sir Haimura, will you take the rear?" he requested. "Is everyone ready? Good. Alert me if you spot anything suspicious. And for the love of everything that is holy, do not touch the trees." Sheathing his blade, he quickly strode east into the forest, moving just at a relatively slower pace for the humans.

"Yes I'll bring up the rear. There's much to be discussed and much haste to be made." Haimura replied. He waited for everyone to walk ahead then brought up then he would bring up the rear. He extended his Supernatural Senses to locate the Elven Ranger squad riding out to this location on horseback, they seemed to be a long way out though.

Azalea rolled her eyes. "Whatever you say, Mr. Tough Guy." She muttered under her breath, following the elf. Still, she smirked to herself, enjoying that for once in her life, somebody took her as a threat on sight, instead of forcing her to prove it. This flame thing had multiple benefits, it seemed. She glanced over at Bliss to make sure the other girl was coming too. If she wasn't so timid, Azalea thought that Bliss's gift could be just as dangerous as her own blue fire, with a little imagination and daring. For example, what was to stop her ensnaring them all in thorns or vines, and taking off? Or trapping them behind a wall of trees? But Azalea doubted this would happen, at least not now. She was too afraid and eager to leave to do anything like that, it seemed. Not to mention it wouldn't be a smart move right now.

Walking slower to come up beside the one girl who name he doesn't he introduces himself "Hello my name is Randeruck, many I know your name. I notice you are pretty shy so i thought I'd share a secret with you since you won't tell anyone. Honestly from the moment I hit the ground I was absolutely terrified. I know very little about the "power" I have and had to use every ounce of courage I had to even stand between those two. @Miss Mack

Shin walked behind the elve and tried to space himself from the girl who went by Azalea. "So Leoch right um sorry about the trees I didn't know they were important to you guys."

Bliss was walking just in front of Haimura as Randeruck approached her. While he spoke, she walked behind Azalea, for now leaving her trust to nobody just yet. She listened to him before replying gently, "One would be a fool to not be full of fear." For her small stature and timid nature, Bliss spoke wise words, proving that she would not want to waste her breath on those who wouldn't listen. "Use your courage wisely... Namely not against those as determined as they were." She still spoke under her breath, but her words weren't nearly as quiet as they were during the fights when everybody had first arrived.

@Randeruck

Taking her words into account he states "If i had not had stepped in think of the trees that could have been harmed, yeah I didn't know they were important and I'm not gonna act like I did but if the fight had continued we would have probably had a lot more then just confusion to worry about according to how the elf speaks about the trees." @Miss Mack

Bliss knelt down and picked up a rock as they walked. She was careful not to touch any of the trees as said by the elves, but she felt the cool stone in her hands, biting her lip and taking in the surrounding area once more. Her silence signaled Randeruck that she had given up, handing him the right as "winner" of the argument.

@Randeruck

Randeruck seeing the girl no longer wants to talk he says "I get that your not much of a talker but if you ever need someone to just vent to give me a shout I'd love to learn more about the powers you have.... oh and your name." He then runs off singing silently to himself as he chooses a new song to listen to on his mp3 player. @Miss Mack

Leoch sighed. It had been a while since he had last heard a sincere apology, and he was trying to figure out if the boy was foolish or ignorant. Deciding to give him the benefit of the doubt, the elf replied, "I grew up in a forest like this. According to legend, the first forest elves drew their power from flora such as trees. We use them as homes, as materials for weapons and tools. In times of war they are natural barriers. In peace they bring us food. We have no qualms about taking down a tree for our use, but we take much care in ensuring that its gift is not wasted. Do you understand?" Leoch rubbed his temples. Trying to explain elven culture to a human was often a futile endeavor.

"We're almost here," he announced. "In less than five minutes we will enter an small elven outpost. You are not to speak unless absolutely necessary, you are not to touch anything, you are not to make any threatening motion. You are to show the utmost respect to those before you. Follow these rules and everything will be fine." Leoch paused. "And don't try to shake anyone's hand. We're not dwarves." Leoch himself was not fond of these societal rules by any means, but him time in the cities taught him that he had to respect them nonetheless.

"Hmm these trees are pretty cool." He put his hands in his pockets. "All those rules make me feel like I'm back at school."

Me? Vent? I don't think it's possible. Bliss thought to herself, smiling a bit. She traced small circles on the stone using her thumb. With a smile still dancing on her lips, she nodded at Leoch's words, already knowing if any of them were to get into trouble, it wouldn't be her. Bliss began to think about what Randeruck had said. She muttered to herself, speaking to nobody, "If you wanted to know my name, why did you run?"

Randeruck shoots his hand up in the air "So hey i've never met an elf until about an hour ago so two questions. One, what is considered a threatening motion, I understand don't draw a weapon but are there other cultural things I may not know about. And two what is considered a great form of respect so that if need be I can at least show that I am trying to show respect." @kaito9049

Azalea kept her eyes wide open as they walked, turning her head in every direction. She quite liked the forest, she decided, trailing her fingers gently over the trunks of some of the trees. Hopefully Leoch wouldn't get angry at her for that. It wasn't like she was hurting the plants or anything. Still, better safe than sorry, and she hastily returned her arms to her sides. She was eager to find somewhere quiet and away from the group, once they reached wherever it was they were going, so that she could test out her new powers more fully. At Leoch's words she listened eagerly, curious about the new society they seemed to have stumbled right into. Staying quiet would not be a problem, at least.

Leoch glanced at Randeruck. "Fair enough," he admitted. "Good question. Don't make any movements towards your pockets or sleeves, or if you must, move slowly. Refrain from crouching; it's usually interpreted as the first form of an elven fighting style. Bowing is the go-to motion for respectfulness. When you do so, keep your eyes down; to look at someone whilst bowing is like a slap in the face. If you want to show the utmost respect for someone, place your hand on your neck while bowing; it's a sign that you're willing to give your life for that person." He gazed over the group. "Any other questions?" The camouflaged gateposts of the outpost were now visible.

"I think I got it I'll just put up my music so no one thinks I'm doing anything suspicious before we go in" Randeruck quickly takes out his ear bud and wraps it around his mp3 player and puts it quickly in his pocket making sure no elfs saw him stick his hand in his pocket. @kaito9049

Good night!

Bliss kept silent as usual, still walking with group and near the rear of them all. She rested her hands by her sides, gently setting the small rock down before they entered. She took a deep breath and looked down at another small cherry blossom blooming by her feet. Bliss covered it with dirt then kept walking, eying some of the people in the group. In her head, the timid girl was making a list of people to avoid.

CrossStitch had a home in the forest. A little cottage that he stayed in by himself. He was walking home when he saw it. Another portal.

"Why so many portals lately? And... Why are they all showing up near my house?" He asked himself. He shook his head, and continued on until he saw the two new arrivals. He stopped walking, and stood and stared for a moment. He'd seen a few portals before... But they were rare up until lately. Something must be wrong. He observed them for another minute, making sure none of them were hurt.
