Fantasy Those who came before

"I'll be sure to check it out. Thank you, ma'am." Henry nodded as he tucked away the letter. He turned to Castle, letter at the forefront of his mind.

"This man is... an acquaintance of mine I've met during my work abroad. I can not say I dislike him nor can I say that I like him." Henry responded after Nat, the previous grimace melting away. It would be best to see what the erratic man had to offer since, after all, Leo was an ally for the moment. Even if working with him meant acting upon Leo's choices in tactics. Henry added on, "Regardless, I should probably go since he went through all the trouble of tracking me."

He turned his head as a man said, "Well, if it isn't the Little Lockway!" Eyes locking on the approaching armoured figure, he turned to locate the object of the armoured man's subject. It was Nat. The girl had briefly looked down, muttering something under her breath, before looking back up at the approaching figure.

He spoke up, a bored tone and expression to match how little he cared for the chuckling man interrupting their meal and chatter, "And who would you be, Mr. Knight? It seems you have caused our companion here her ire." It seemed the girl's name was 'Nat' Lockway though what importance that held could be answered later. Turning slightly, he openly showed the sword at his left hip while his right hand brushed the coat aside and moved to rest upon the weapon. "If you have business with the girl, politely ask her to leave with you or do it later when we are finished eating. My mood will sour if you cause a commotion since I've been on a diet of dried meats and nuts for too long."

She listened to their replies regarding the letter. Perhaps it wouldn't be that big a deal to turn it down or something however it did intrigue her, after all, the courier did put in some effort to deliver them. Knowing that she won't get any clients from it, perhaps she might as well just gather information about her past if ever anyone knew them, either way, the sound of a party appealed to her dangerously delicate pallet.

Although accustomed to the loud laughter and shouting in a common ale house, the sudden entrance of a knight's voice frightened Castle so much as to have her accidentally spill some of her chowder all over her hand. Whilst nursing the burn, she turned to glare towards the man's way. 'I'm guessing he's one of the men Nat wanted to avoid ever since we arrived in the capital,' she thought to herself as she muttered to herself, "Well what great timing he has."

"I'll only a be a second with her." The man directed his statement at Henry."Pretend I'm not even here." He laughed again. "My name is Jonathan. I'm best friends with Mimi's older brother, Michael." He turned his attention back to Naomi. "You wouldn't believe it, Mimi. Your brother's a high ranking paladin now! I'm so proud to be at his side." Jonathan's voice was uncomfortably loud and drew the attention of quite a few people sitting around them.

"I don't want to hear any of your pet names, Jon." Naomi growled. "And you're being too loud!"

"Ah, that's the Naomi I've always known. Always telling me to shut my mouth." He gave a faint smile and spoke in a more quiet manner, still maintaining his energy. "I didn't think I'd ever see a girl of nobility dressed in such a manner. You're not some sort of assassin now, are you?" He asked half jokingly. "And if you're worried about running into anyone else, you're brother's the only one in the city at the moment. Your parents are off celebrating their anniversary in Hood Town for a week. Isn't that sweet?"

"Wonderful," Naomi said sarcastically. "Do you think I actually care?"

They were silent for a moment before Jon spoke again, more sincere this time. "Your brother misses you."

"Nonsense."

Jon pointed at the invitation and spoke sternly. "Talk to him." He looked around the table once more before speaking again. "Enjoy yourselves." He bowed and then left.

Naomi sighed and shook her head.

"A brother you say?" I lean forwards intrigued, "I would have never though, your personality has always seemed like the type that grew up alone..." I smiled as the waitress brought the rest of the food to the table, my mouth watered with delight. Before I dug in I looked back up, "I won't dig in to your past, I do hate when people do that. But might I ask, what is a Paladin?" Thoughts swarmed through my head as I processed the new information but all traces of emoting had been lost once I started digging into the food

Leo

Leo steps past the border into Aikidio, he had left his carriage back a few miles from where he is now to take a stroll through the woods and the rest of the way to the Capital. There was businesses the man had to attend to before the party it would only be two days from now and he wanted to set up something first before his plan started to unravel

@Ami the breadling

"What a boisterous fellow," Henry said, a tug of memories of his own childhood flashing through his eyes, "too loud for my tastes. Still, you're a noble who seemed to have failed miserably at running away from home, Ms. Lockway? Should've left the country. Actually, why did you ride back into the city in the first place?" He waited for a moment before a chuckle left him, "So there goes one mystery, who's next?" His eyes landed on the other three for just a moment

Hearing Jake's question, Henry said,"Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't they distinguished knights? High ranking Paladin, must be somebody of great importance. Maybe just below Knight Commander. Must be hard, living under such a shadow if my assumptions correct." Finishing his piece, he turned his focus to his new found food, a satisfied smile on his face at the feeling of a warm meal.

Jack ahhed in understanding, taking time towards looking around the room letting the picture sync into his memory. Once the moment was captured the harpy stood up, "Excuse me, I'm going to the wash room for a momment." Jack made his way to the bathroom until he was interrupted, as one of the drunken customers came approaching him. He slung his arm around Jack and started swinging him from side to side, "Jaaaaaake my boy! How are you? You've been gone for so long I though you abandoned me!!" The man started crying on his shoulder, he was an emotional wreak of a sailor especially when drunk. It looked like he was going to be stuck back there for a while.

Leo

Leo strolled into the main district, most of the people were window shopping or out on a date and others had just got out of their classes. Wandering around most people watched as He passed through, be it the strange clothes The elf wore or the two swords around his waist they stared none the less.

After a good few minutes of the curious stares of the locals Leo had decided to go to a near by tavern, where the weak drunken gaze of the hardy men would probably just wander away to something more to their liking. Stepping into the tavern Leo's eyes strayed to a strange sight of 4, an odd looking bunch most would say. "Hm, let's see. A Mage? Human. Elf... Henry?"

Leo wore a mischievous as he slowly walked up to the group, he wasn't excepting to get anything interesting on his trip for supplies so this would be quite the treat.

@EuclidAmarok @FadeAway @RazingCatfish @FrostXShadow

Amellios nibbled on his bread and drunk some of his beer trying not to get drunk he noticed someone slowly walking up to the group and looked at the man out of the corner of his eye "Hm he looks like bad news...i'll wait until he actually does something before I attack him" he thought to him self while he nibbled on his bread

"Another addition to the pot I guess," Castle chuckled as she watched Jon and Nat interact with one another in front of her. 'So she does have family but it doesn't seem like she treasures them. That's good for her. One less factor of weakness I guess.' She thought to herself as her eyes wandered off from the group and towards others in the inn. Amidst the loud chortling of the drunkards and high pitched giggles of the waitresses, she managed to notice a mysterious figure heading towards their table slowly. She recognized this particular aura as her shadows emerged from the tips of her fingers and flickered like a flame in the wind. This aura matched hers in a way that caused her to almost think of this figure as her kin. As her focus started to zero in on the figure, she was able to block out the unnecessary voices and noises around her. "Incoming," she managed to blurt out before falling silent again.

You got to be kidding me. Why did he send those letters if he was going to just meet us anyways. Having just swallowed the last of his stew, Henry stared impassively at the Dark Legion comrade. He didn't know what the erratic elf will do. Regardless, let the chips fall where they may. If it turns south, Henry was sure that he could at least survive and fight his way out. He was confident enough in his skills, but the group he was traveling with were all powerful in their own right. The elf had started agitating the group already though, Henry could feel the atmosphere around him change. Watching Leo walk towards them with Castle giving a small warning, Henry asked aloud over the sound of drunk laughter and talk,"Do you need something?"

@FadeAway @FrostXShadow @Jack of Cloves @RazingCatfish

Castle turned to Henry as he asked aloud 'Do you need something?' towards the figure that was walking through the crowd and towards their table. It perked her interest as to how this sellsword knew something about this person. "Someone you know I assume?" She cooed as she finished her pint of ale.

"Another pint?" A waitress tapped her shoulder. Castle nodded at her before watching her mug float away on the tray she was holding.

@EuclidAmarok @Jack of Cloves

"... an acquaintance. I work with a wide range of people as I've said before. He should be the one that wrote those letters." Henry responded. There was no use hiding it. Leo would make or break this. Or maybe the others have an extreme grudge against the Dark Legion in which he had screwed himself already. Lacing his fingers together and leaning his head on top, he formed a small layer of ice on his palms hidden from sight as he was agitated. Letting out a sigh, he continued, "Now your turn, Leo. What takes you to the city, I thought you were having a... party."

I watched as the people at the table stirred in my presence and smiled politely as possible, "One cannot have a party without an event. It would be a droll of a party without one." I shivered as I walked past the table to sit in a bar seat, I got a chill when passing by Henry the coolness of the ice lingered near me even at this range. "I see you have gotten my invitations, I made sure that they were specially made for people like you Henry. I do hope you come, I really do love your company." I smirked teasing you slightly. Playing round with you has always been one of my favorite pass times.

@EuclidAmarok @FadeAway @FrostXShadow @RazingCatfish

The girl turned to Henry, responding to his comments about her. "I was strolling around the forest trying to clear my head, and I didn't think I'd be able to get out by foot before the sunset." Naomi put on a devious grin. "And I thought you'd have something of value that I'd like to take for myself. Don't worry about that now. I consider you all to be allies for the time being." She looked down and sighed. "And yeah, you are right about that. I can't help but wonder now if he actually cares after acting as though I didn't exist once he started his training." She chuckled a little."Not that I care that much. Just common curiosity."

Naomi heard an 'Incoming' from Castle and turned to see an elf approaching the table. While Henry and Castle had a small exchange, she took the time to analyze the new figure's appearance to see if he posed any threat. What she gathered from the events following was that the man's name was Leo and that he was the one who had written the invitations. She squinted at him slightly, her eyes following him as he left the group. He seemed very intriguing.

Threlm sat on a fallen log just outside of town. There were 4 dead humans around him. Two of them were city guard that happened to hear the screaming of the couple before he slaughtered them. Threlm was bired he needed a challenge. So he sat their on the greeen turned red with blood log, surrounded by the lush green now stained with crimson spots forest thinking about his next step.

@Anyone

Castle let out a short chuckle before eyeing Henry whilst the other elf talked. "He makes you seem like an interesting fellow. At the same time he gives off a rather uncomfortable aura. I'm surprised you took up a request from him...." She trailed off as a shiver ran down her spine from the elf's maniac face as he spoke to their company. It bothered her and her shadows.

I turned towards the other elf and watched her as she spoke, "And who might you be?" I said smoothly. Glancing over the group everyone seemed like someone with an interesting back ground, "Hn. Sorry to just barge in here and ruin your lovely conversation." I stood and bowed gracefully, "I am Leo Mor."

@FadeAway @RazingCatfish @EuclidAmarok @FrostXShadow

"I take requests from nearly everybody. Nobles and peasants, guards and thieves, if they have the coin, I will lend my sword for their cause. There are several things I will refuse to do, but those are little and far in between," Henry stated, "Of course, that's not why people hire me. People hire me since I will always complete the job. Though you're mistaken on one part, he's not my employer." He wasn't bragging of course, he truly has yet to fail a job that he had taken. He does avoid jobs that he knows he would fail though, but those, usually assassinations, are rare.

"Oh I wish." I chuckled mostly to my self as I ordered something to drink, "Might I ask why your here Henry?" I tried to hurry up the conversation, I needed to get somewhere before the client rejects my offer. I tapped my fingers slowly on the bar as I though of what to do next.

"Decided to build up a fortune for retirement. Not really," Henry stated, "my boss is running me dry. Since he's sidelining me for now, I decided to spend my time usefully..." without backstabbers trying to slit my throat in my sleep. Noticing the fidgeting fingers, Henry said, "I won't keep you, you can go you know? You're the one who inserted yourself into the conversation in the first place."

I considered the fact of leaving without leaving that big of an impact before I went, it just wasn't my style especially with all of the interesting faces gathered around at the table. I sigh, "What a waste of a visit." I look back at all of you one by one scanning everything about you before getting up, "I will see you all tonight hopefully." I smiled and bowed getting ready to take my leave.

Threlm waited outside of the town sitting on his bloody log after a time of thinking. He knew Leo was in town. He wandered how fun fighting him would be. Of course he wouldnt try and wound him... much but he was extremely bored and wanted to fight. He wondered if Leo would be able to detect him from the town. The bodies had stopped bleeding by now and he couldn't enjoy watching the beautiful crimson flow coming out of the bodies anymore. He sighed in anticipation.

Leo walked out of the bar then took a deep breath, his hand twitched a little. Disappointed that no one called after him, "I get no love around here.." The elf sighed in disappointment, his hopes where high when he saw Henry before the party. He took this as a sign for that something absolutely incredible was going to happen, "I want him." Leo though with a grin on his face, he would make a good ally. As Leo walked through the town he heard a familiar patter of walking, he looked over his shoulder and smirked once he realized who it was. The elf turned back around and pulled into a crowded street.

((That was a bit gay but that's okay. @Saruwatari Tomohisa

Castle nodded off at Henry's response before thinking about her own clients. True that she almost never gives them a specific time when she completes them mostly because assassinations can't be rushed but she has one client that has been waiting for almost a year now all because she failed to track down the target. 'Maybe I shouldn't have accepted it in the first place,' she sighed from the thought 'He offered an additional sack of moondrop candy...If only I knew where to get those, I wouldn't have accepted the quest that easily.' She then glanced towards Leo, assuming that what Henry had mentioned was correct and that he is indeed the man who sent the letters, and watched amusingly as the two had a brief exchange of words. Although she did want Leo to stay a bit longer so she could further evaluate him as a person but it seemed that he had somewhere else to be.

"I won't take back what I said, he is an interesting fellow" Castle cooed as Leo left their table, "Which reminds me, is everyone else agreeing to go to the party later tonight? I don't want to be the only one going if you all aren't coming."
