Fantasy Those who came before

Castle chuckled at his comment of being broke, "Well now. I just recently finished a job and was paid a fair sum for it, enough to last me the week at least. However that's an interesting offer, I'll see if there is a bigwig client who needs both a sell sword and an assassin. Unfortunately, a head to head battle is my weak points." She rubbed her chin as they walked.

(( So where's le tavern located? @Jack of Cloves ))

"That all sounds like quite a hassle, although I would suggest we continue this conversation over at the tavern." I lean in the direction of where our destination should be, "It's called The Last Drop, they know me well there." I said proudly and stood up straight, ignoring the pain in m stomach as it stretched and moaned as if it was a grumpy adolescent.

"Sounds like where men go to drink themselves to death. Or get killed in a bar fight over some alcohol." Henry commented, a quiet laugh escaping him. Looking at Jack, he said, "Lead on then. No use announcing it then staying here."

"well lets go then standing around here is quite boring" he said looking at Jack he stretched and fixed his ruffled gold cloak ready to leave whenever the rest of the group was ready

I smiled at the people that decided to come, "Great!" I turn to my side and gave 'Castel' a warm smile before responding, "Now now no need to go killing anyone (today)." I ruffled your hair playfully before I started walking in the direction of the bar moving the convesation over to Naomi. "If you would like Naomi, there's a clothing store near the bar. We can stop by and you could get a cloak of your choosing." I scrunched my face in thought before I opened my mouth again and shifted to the side to look back at you, "I'm only paying for your food though." I guffawed playfully before facing forwards once again.

Castle shuddered from his touch and snarled lowly, "Don't touch my hair.." She pouted before folding her arms and sighing. Perhaps she had lowered her guard down too much for them to be so relaxed around her. She could very well kill them all if she wanted to but they were formidable as individuals, what more as a group if she were to raise a sword against them. "Well the more you hide, the more visible you are. I can sense your tension from a mile away" She commented on Nat's behavior.

Amellios raised a brow at the group "I have never met stranger people than of this group" he said shaking his head 'I wonder.." he shook his head getting the though from his mind he smiled and looked at the group he pulled down his hood figuring he didn't need to hide people would be scared of him if they did know who he was and would keep there distance "im glad these people do not know of my reputation they might have run away or worse attempt to kill me' he thought to himself with a sigh but continued to smile

"He really has a death wish, doesn't he." Henry muttered as he walked to follow the excited man. It was funny, seeing the normally uptight assassin pout afterwards though. He expected a death threat, maybe a needle to the hand. Turning to the light mage as he commented on their strangeness, he said, "I feel pretty normal. On the other hand, Nat seems pretty mysterious. She makes it sound like she pickpocketed everybody in this city, including some authoritative figures."

@Jack of Cloves @FadeAway @RazingCatfish @FrostXShadow

"I welcome the thought of myself being strange to others. It may be caused by the exposure to irregular behavior or something," Castle commented as she chewed on a candied rock "I would be more on edge if no one at all seemed strange to me. As if the normals was plotting something" She added. As they walked she acknowledged Henry's comment about Nat's behavior.

"Either that or she trash-talked the wrong people and well, gossip does spread like wildfire," she snickered.

I listened to the groups banter walking ahead of them all making sure to avoid a sign of conversation, most seemed like they were hiding a thing or two since almost all were looking or glancing to a side from time to time. 'Very peculiar bunch' I raised my hand to my face remembering the cold glare 'Castel' gave me, "You all need to go to a therapy of some sort." I whispered under my breath still stalking the conversation going on behind me, "We're almost there, be sure to save the interesting conversations for when we get our food." I said with a fake happiness, keeping up the friendly act is very tiring.

"I think we're here." Henry stared at the establishment, an older building in an old district. A stable was to its side, several horses neighing as stable boys moved to feed and water the animals. The tavern itself, a simple structure of stone and wood, emanated the sound of talk and laughter. A sign made of wood hung above the door, the words Final Drop were worn but still legible. Drunk laughter that is. This tavern must be different if it didn't serve piss flavoured beer and stew made of dirt.

Making his way in first, Henry's eye gazed over a scene of several drunkards tripping over each other and upending the a table and several chairs around them in the dimly lit building. The tavern owner, a young, gruff looking man with dirty brown hair, drove them out with his yells and a stick. Another quick scan of the room showed others talking in various volumes. Most groups looked like normal tavern goers though several men in the corner were acting oddly, their cloaked bodies hunched over the tables, whispers unheard by anybody else. Spotting the group just outside the door, he yelled, "Welcome to the Last Drop, the tavern with the best ale and meat!"

Henry nodded towards the tavern owner who was busily resetting the tables and cleaning the mess and made his way towards an empty table, hands waving for the others to follow.

((Sorry @Jack of Cloves , just thought I'd try and move it forward. If this wasn't your plan, just tell me and right your own, I'll rewrite/delete this post!))

Castle inhaled deeply and took in the numerous scents of ale, beer and different kinds of foods; it was definitely a welcomed scene for her. After traveling for almost a week with a few scraps of meat to eat and water from streams she would find on the way, a hot meal and a pint of ginger ale could be the best thing that may have happened to her that entire month. As the group entered, she spied many drunkards tripping over themselves and others. With minimal movements, she dodged their falling bodies making it seem as if she was dancing so gracefully. She had a wide grin on her face and she seemed to have lowered down her guard fully, which is very uncharacteristic of her. "Thank the gods that you brought us here Jake" she nudged the said man on the side in a friendly manner as she followed Henry through the crowd. She let out a soft chuckle before sitting on one of the bar stools and catching her breath. "So guys," she addressed the group "Bar or booth?"

The smell of strong beer and meat waved over him in a thick nostalgia, a lady came over to the group and greeted me with a friendly gaze, "Welcome back Jake!" The lady patted me roughly on the back, "Would you like your usual seat?" She pointed to a booster seat signaling most that I have visited this place many times before.

I rolled my eyes and laughed awkwardly hoping no one noticed, "Actually, we would like a table please." The lady observed the group then looked back at me and grinned widely, "Why of course.... Big boy." The barista teased and brought us to our seats where many of the drunkards and regulars greeted me as we passed by to get to our seats.

"You all can order anything." I said ignoring the greetings, "Dinner is on me." I sat down and ordered my usual now just trying to drown out everyone's teasing.

The strong smell of food made Naomi realize how hungry she was as the group entered the bar. She decided that it would be safe to avoid eye contact with anyone else in the room, even though it seemed as though most of them were too busy with their drunken antics to notice her. She took a seat with the rest of the group and pondered what she would order while continuing with her anxious sighing.

Amellios walked in with the group instantly being hit with the smell of food and beer, he noticed some people stop talking to look at him some glared others scooted away. Amellios shrugged and sat down with the group "uh ive never been here is there something I should give a try?" he looked at jack ignoring the glares and stares from the other people

"I'll take stew, bread, and a cup of milk." Henry said with a small smile over the din while his eyes covertly watching his companions in dull interest. Castle had relaxed quite a bit since they first met. It wasn't hard to figure why, all of them had secrets but none seemed to care. Then there was Jake who was truly a common patron of the tavern. Everybody seemed to recognize him. Then there was the light mage and dagger wielding girl. It was amusing watching the two. The light mage was glaring away all the other patrons while the girl was attempting to avoid any sort of eye contact. He spoke again to the friendly woman that had previously patted Jake on the back, "Ah, that reminds me. Have you heard of anybody needing a sellsword? You see, I'm looking for a job since I've been running out of coin lately."

As he said that, he couldn't help but think, I'll miss traveling with these folks. Odd company, but interesting group.

Just then, a courier burst into the tavern with several envelopes in hand and his light leather bag swinging freely. Eyes landing on their group, Henry watched as the young man handed them the envelopes. He said, "I don't know who sent these, but they said I would find you here." Taking it and opening it, he looked over the parchment. The slight smile on his face disappeared with a frown forming slowly. It was Leo, the unpredictable elf in the Dark Legion. He was inviting him, possibly the rest, to his party. His letter was oddly empty with only a simple invitation written upon it with a promise of excitement. Glancing up, he waited for the other's reaction to the odd letters.

Castle rested on the chair in front of Jake and adjacent to Henry's as she took a sip of her ale whilst inhaling deeply the delicious aroma of the vegetable chowder. Beside that was a platter of cold cuts, slices of cheeses and freshly baked bread, the way she likes it. But as she was about to take a heaping spoonful of the steaming chowder, a courier entered the pub and handed them letters. She watched Henry's facial expression change as he read it which only intrigued her to do the same. Setting the spoon aside, she slit the parchment paper and slid the letter out. Somehow the mention of 'Dark Legion' on the letter reminded her of the bittersweet moments she had encountered with them. Castle was never really the type to take sides and would more likely be the only neutral member in the group however she has been recruited to join the Dark Legion on several occasions, she would gladly turn them down.

"How troublesome," she sighed at the letter as she eyed the others who seem to have taken their time inspecting their own letters, "What do you think of this?"

"Oh! One thing that I love the most is the chowder in the bread bowl. Another though is the meat choices-" I lean over to the mage and point to the meat selection enthusing on the flavors with childlike excitement.

While Jack was busy, the tavern mistress replied to Henry's question while also multitasking, trying to write everyone's orders down. "Quite funny that you asked, our local black smith has been very busy lately something about an order from a rich client. Has to work graveyard the poor thing, must miss his children quite a lot." The lady snapped out of her ramblings and faced towards you done writing down the orders, "Sorry about that, old ladies tend to ramble a lot" She chuckled, "If you are looking for him he is just 3 stores down from here, since he's busy you can give him Jake or mine's name and he'll probably be able to give you the time of day, if he's in a good mood. Watch out though, he's a brutal man" The tavern mistress wrote down a note and handed it over to you, "Good luck."

Breaking from his trance from the sudden wind entering the bar, Jack turned and was greeted with a dazed page boy with 7 letters in his hand "I don't know who sent these, but they said I would find you here." The harpy watched as he handed out the letters to the group, what caught Jack's attention though isn't the B.O. or confused look on the couriers face but the dis-charmed gaze Henry gave as he read the letter. Jack was puzzles at first but when he opened the letter he understood why. In his hands was a letter from his brother Leo.

Dear Brother,

It would be to my greatest honer if you were to attend my party at the usual mansion where we first met
(Jack shivered at the though, remembering how violated he felt under his gaze). To see my dear brother Jack again would surly be a treat for sore eyes------

Jack refrained from reading the rest knowing the next parts would be as slimy and disgusting as the first part. From normal eyes Leo would sound as a devoted and loving brother but to Jack he knew the meanings behind those words. "Eugh-" Jack said in disgust, "He really knows how to ruin my dinner.." I mumbled I set the letter down.

"I don't eat much," Naomi said. "I'll just have salad." She stared at the table, leaning forward with her head propped up by her arm. The coming of the mail courier surprised her a bit, and she sat up to see what was happening. As everyone around the table became occupied with their letters, she found amusement in their reactions, especially Jake's. Realizing that there was a letter for her as well, Naomi opened it, curious as to what it had to say. She was shocked to see that it was an invitation to a party.

This doesn't make any sense, Naomi thought, panicking. She was sure that she hadn't drawn any attention to herself while she was out on the street. She quickly scanned through the letter, hoping to find out who had written it and found that it was written by a member of The Dark Legion. She remembered her encounter with the mysterious man and the demonic hounds and hoped that going to the party would give her answers. Her only fear at this point was running into her family or someone who knew her family. It wasn't as though she had a sure way out of the city anyway, and the party would give her a place to look for anyone to lead her out of the forest again. After thinking for a while, she responded to Castle's question. "It could either go wonderfully or terribly," she said plainly.

Suddenly, she heard the voice of a man call her from the other side of the tavern. "Well, if it isn't the Little Lockway!" He chuckled. Naomi looked up to see a tall man in armor approaching the table. She looked down and cursed under her breath before making eye contact with him.
